I have had dry eyes for at least ten years. It often feels like there is sand in my eyes.
I recently asked my eye doctor if he knew anything to help this condition. He told me that he too has experienced the same problem for the past three years. He tried different eye drops which marginally helped him.
He did a search on the Internet and found out about Flaxseed Oil. It has helped him and many of his patients. It is also helping me.
It can be bought in a bottle, in capsules or in granular form.

My sister says it is an omega fatty acid? which is missing in my diet. Supposedly, Americans don't get this today, but I don't know enough to confirm or deny it.

you can get omega-3 fatty acids from fish but flaxseed oil also contains a significant amount of omega-3 fatty acids.
i googled it an flaxseed oil is indeed a laxative, so be careful when you first start taking it. you might have to run to the can if you take too much.

My wife recently attended a talk given by an MD on the topic of omega-3. He talked about how it has been so vastly removed from our diets (especially due to refined flour, etc.) but it is essential for so much (such as the basis of cell membranes and transportation). He said if he was only going to take one supplement, it would be omega-3.

Well, maybe it simply is a laxative, period. Cause I'd be in tears if I had to run to the bathroom every 15 minutes.
