how does flashing my bios help?

I didnt read that thread, but flashing your bios(motherboard) can allow for increased accessiblity to settings in your BIOS that would control frequency settings and such.
On the other hand, if you flash the card's bios, sometimes this will/can increase frequency settings on the card and even open extra pipelines
(ex: geforce 6800(8 pipelines) -> flashed to the settings of 6800xt, (12pipelines) ) which opens up 4 more pipelines, HOWEVER, flashing in this manner is highly dangerous. Doing video card rom flashes almost always requires a heavy physical modification of the card. As increased frequencies produce more heat from the chips, soo much heat in fact that the card will likely fail(permanently) the first time it sees a real load. (farcry/doom3.. etc).
I would google it a bit and see what people have done... and specifically... look to see what people have done without having to purchase a completely new card +$300 :'(

yeah... tried googlin... but i think i should wait a little bit till more people try it... its one hell of a card for now... i paid $248 shipped... so... i can't complain for now...:)
