Pic of The Day: Up Periscope!

I almost didn't notice the periscope on the Russian sub. I was expecting one of those larger ones you see in movies. I thought I would try to see if I could see anything and if so, If I could get a picture through it so I held my camera up to the lens and was delighted to see a clear picture. They had it pointing at one of the aircraft carriers across the bay.

This is the control room. The yellow box you see in the top right is the periscope and the red on the left is the ladder to the con tower. You are not allowed up there.

Awesome pic... and FYI, CVN 76 is the USS Ronald Reagan. Our newest Nimitz class carrier. Next in line, CVN 77, the George H. W. Bush, scheduled for delivery in 2008.

I am totally enjoying this series of shots. The way you're 'treating' the subjects as well as the choices you're making in editing them...very nice man. Very nice.
