So, I was in an office building in LA, eighth floor. That got the rolling going for a bit. Otherwise, it was a short and fun ride. I IMed IN immediately asing if it'd gotten down to SD, but no dice. When all's said and done, it was a 4.9 from near Yucaipa.

I honestly started singing this at my office at the end of today's tremblor (and my officemates started cracking up):

Come along my baby, whole lotta shakin' goin' on
Yes, I said come along my baby, baby you can't go wrong
We ain't fakin', while lotta shakin' goin' on.

Well, I said come along my baby, we got chicken in the corn
Woo-huh, come along my baby, really got the bull by the horn
We ain't fakin', whole lotta shakin' goin' on.

Well, I said shake, baby, shake,
I said shake, baby, shake
I said shake it, baby, shake it
I said shake, baby, shake
Come on over, whole lotta shakin' goin' on.

Oh, let's go . . .

Well, I said come along my baby, we got chicken in the barn,
whose barn, what barn, my barn
Come along my baby, really got the bull by the horn
We ain't fakin', whole lotta shakin' goin' on.

Easy now. Shake...

Ah, shake it baby
Yeah, you can shake it one time for me

Yeah-huh-huh-ha-ha, Come along my baby,
Whole lotta shakin' goin' on.

Now let's get down real low one time now
Shake, baby, shake
All you gotta do, honey, is kinda stand in one spot
Wiggle around just a little bit, that's what you got
Yeah, come on baby, whole lotta shakin' goin' on.

Now let's go one time
Shake it baby, shake, shake it baby, shake
Woo, shake baby, come on baby, shake it, baby, shake
Come on over, whole lot-ta sha-kin' go-in' on.

you can sing this one too Kevster: :sing:

Shake, Rattle And Roll
by Elvis Presley

Well get out of that bed, wash your face and hands
Get out of that bed, wash your face and hands
Well get in that kitchen
Make some noise with the pots and pans
I believe it to my soul you're the devil in nylon hose
I believe it to my soul you're the devil in nylon hose
For the harder I work the faster my money goes

Well I said shake, rattle and roll
I said shake rattle and roll
I said shake, rattle and roll
I said shake rattle and roll
Well you won't do right
To save your doggone soul

Shake rattle and roll

I'm like the one-eyed cat peeping in a seafood store
I'm like the one-eyed cat peeping in a seafood store
Well I can look at you tell you ain't no child no more
I believe you're doing me wrong and now I know
I believe you're doing me wrong and now I know
'Cause the harder I work the faster my money goes

Well I said shake, rattle and roll
I said shake rattle and roll
I said shake, rattle and roll
I said shake rattle and roll
Well you won't do right
To save your doggone soul

Play it again!

I went over the hill, way down underneath
I went over the hill, way down underneath
You make me roll my eyes
And then you make me grit my teeth

Well I said shake, rattle and roll
I said shake rattle and roll
I said shake, rattle and roll
I said shake rattle and roll
Well you won't do right
To save your doggone soul

Geez, another decent sized one. I'd start thinking about going to a sports store and picking up a raft and some life jackets...

Geebus, I think anybody with more than a 3rd grade education knows that tectonic plates don't just sink, break away, or destroy a whole area. It is something called a joke.

I got the joke part... I think you'd need more than a raft. I just wanted to clear up the common misconception that California's going to sink (which is possible if we were moving downwards).

I'm always suprised at what people put faith into. :heh:

Like I said... it's possible that it would happen. What makes it so unbelievable if it's possible?

Advanced applogies on that one. I couldn't pass it up.

We now have a running pool at my office for when the next quake will occur. I currently have Saturday at 10am & Noon, Sunday at 1am and 3pm, Monday at 6am, Wednesday at Noon and 2pm, Thursday at 8pm and 11pm and Friday at 5pm. $1 per time gets you in and the if we don't get another 4.9+ earthquake in the next week, our times roll over to the next week (all times are good for that hour). Yeah, we're a bunch of sick bastards at my office. :heh:

Oops! They listed time as GMT. Local time was about 10:30 last night.

i am often woken up in the morning by a small quake. sometimes it's real and sometimes it's artifically caused by the incompetent construction workers nearby
