I've been working for Tyco over the past few years.

It's funny, people have signs up in their cubes that say:
PAY UP, DENNIS!

But the company has done amazing things to recover. Twenty some people left top spots from other companies to form a new executive group for Tyco, Ed Breen at the helm. Business is booming again :)

From most of the accounts I've read, Breen's done/is doing a great job. If I remember correctly, part of what he did was lose that sense of "growth through acquisitions/mergers" idea, which is a good thing. LK's said it many, many times before, and I agree: Synergies never seem to materialize.
