I am going to be in Thousand Oaks next week. I am coming in Sunday night 6/19 and leaving Friday afternoon. I'll have a car, but I don't want to venture too far.
I'll be busy, including dinners each night I'm there, but if anybody wants to meet me somewhere close after probably 8 PM local time for a beverage or two that'd be cool.
I am open to suggestions, but I don't want to do a real late or rowdy night. Like I said, I also don't want to get too far away from where I'll be staying (Best Western Thousand Oaks Inn).
Post or PM - it'd be good to put faces with some of the names. Here's your chance to drink with a real, live Alabama redneck. :)

I'll wave as I fly over - make sure you go out in the yard and look!

And, as much as I liked San Diego the only time I visited, It's a little far for me this trip.

Maybe, what's in it for me? :)

I'm in OC, so that's a good hour for me (at least). Though I'd like to meet you, unless there's more people meeting up and we get another G|A get-together going, it's not really feasible to drive that far to meet one person (no offense to you, but yeah...).
Unless you're really a German girl named Mieke, and not Mike. Then, I'll be in Thousand Oaks.

Depending on what time you need to be there, that could easily be a 3 hour drive from Orange County. It also depends on which route you take too - you could end up going through some of the worst traffic congestion areas in the country.
I was thinking of driving up myself, but I would have to battle the 405 at around 6pm to get there around 8pm. Yuck.

I understand completely. My job duties have changed, and I'll be traveling more in the future. Hopefully next time I'll wind up somewhere a little farther south.
Though I don't live in SoCal, my infrequent visits there (this'll be my first time in four years or so) have given me an understanding of how nightmarish the traffic can be.

Dude, I'll come down to wherever you are for the chance to meet your dad and see his cars. :)
Actually, my schedule is a little tight this trip, but, like I said, maybe next time the logistics will be a little different.
I'd come south, but both the time factor plus my relative unfamiliarity with the area will keep me from wandering too far. Exiting the freeway in the wrong place or taking a wrong turn is not something I want to be doing out there in particular - no offense intended.
