I know know if I don't say it some one else will.
Switch to Firefox.
Anyways, do you have multiple profiles on your computer? If you do, try emptying the cache for all the profiles.

These are the only two issues that I am aware of:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q260650
The problem is that IE can't find the jpg in your cache, so it pulls it out of memory. When it pulls the file from memory it will only save it as BMP.

I already did that, i was aware of the first issue but since it didn't fix anything i deleted the downloaded apps, and that stilll did nothing

What size of harddrive do you have and how big is the cache size currently set? I've seen IE not properly clear the cache with huge cache sizes. If it is set to more than 1GB, try reducing it to a few hundred MB. If it hasn't been deleted correctly, this process may appear to hang.. let it run, it is deleting files.
To figure out if the problem is even cache related, can you right-click and do View Source and get the source or do you get a blank page?

Well.. the view source not working means it is definitely your cache not being cleared. Try reducing your cache size down to a small amount like 20MB.. then clear the cache again and increase it to 200MB or so.

Use the search function, a lot of people have had this problem and there are two previous threads that deal with it. I'm just too lazy to find it for you right now burzh. There are several options you have. That's all I can offer right now sorry.

Here's the other threads:

Both were fixed by clearing cache, but one of them had to reduce the cache size first. This is a pretty common problem. I've fixed it a thousand times.. my company's website uses large .js files and they won't work when the cache is full, which breaks 99% of the site.

Go to your temp internet folder, do a search for *.* and delete everything in there except the hidden folders that show up.
Sometimes, Iexplore is a jerk about (not) deleting temp files.

what about doing a reinstall of IE? What about deleting the entire temp internet files folder and letting IE recreate it? (Warning, this can screw with Outlook.)
Or...how about logging into your computer under a different profile to see if that makes any difference. Since it would use a different temp directory, that would tell you if you're on the right track.
