I'll let you know how it went.

lol
When I met Scott's parents, it went pretty easily. We had met on the internet so he knew a lot about me from having talked so much and so I think his parents knew a lot about me already. They were very friendly and accepting and I don't remember it being bad at all! Good luck!

Well this goes waaay back to um, the 80's. Oh man, I'm OLD!!
Well, when I brought my boyfriend home to meet the family, EVERYONE was there. Nieces, Aunts, Uncles...everyone. My niece (about 3 yrs old) got under the table and took everyones shoes off and started to put the boy shoes on the girls and the girl shoes on the boys. It was pretty funny, but you should have seen the look on his face when my niece started pulling off his shoes first. He had no idea who was playing footsie with him. He sat mortified. He blushed and never said a word until everyone figured out what was happening.
Then, I met my soon-to-be husband about 20 years later. I met his mom the Friday before we were married. How's that for 'ya better get along w/ Mom' or else. But she lives in Illinois and we live in Ca.

When I met my father in law, he answered the door shirtless with a beer in his hand.
Yep...always make a good first impression ladies and gentlemen. :hihi:
My in-laws are goofy but that's why I like them. Hell my parents are nuts so it's an even trade with my wife. :thumb:

first time I met his parents without introduction I was so embarassed I rushed thru the store - mcs's father thought his gf was this other girl....but mcs told him that it was me not the other girl. Second time meeting them was with an introduction - of course this was the mini Volleyball tourney so ALL his family members were there when I was formally (sort of) introduced. My impression was OMG - your family speaks English - not just English - they speak it so clearly?? :eek3: Then I noticed how they were all so caring and funny I started tearing up :neartears ... of course I also wasn't feeling well and they were all very kind and concerned for me.. I do see where mcs gets his humor from though. :D

Not my fault that your nose is so brown.... :p
was wondering when you were going to post on this thread.
4 years later we are getting married - so my parents weren't TOO far off... :p

Back when I was meeting Mrs. Kevster's parents for the first time, I had to goto the Pt. Magu Naval Warfare Station. He was a Colonel in the Marine Corps, and was the senior officer at the time for the marines on the base. When I got to their house, I met him for the first time and he happened to be cleaning his service 9mm in the living room. I guess it went rather well after that. They had a turkey dinner for me and everything. They liked my jokes and thought I was pretty nice. They even let me leave in one piece too!

Well, I met "MOM and DAD" at a very nice restaurant for lunch. I was terribly nervous but completely prepared for the interrogation. I wore a purple floral outift (I thought the hoochie momma attire should stay in the closet) :naughty: . I later found out purple is Moms favorite color. She scores!
Dad called me by the wrong name, but felt comfortable chatting with me. Someday I will have to ask who "that other girl" is. :eek3: . Mom only raised her eyebrow once, I'm still not sure if it was something I said or if she was miffed with Dad. She did asked me if I was an actress hired to impress the folks. After all I am his imaginary girlfriend.
All in all, I had a wonderful time... they are really nice people with interesting conversation and great personalities. They've raised a fine son with strong character and values. :love2:
I made Dad a small promised that I wouldn't try to run him over again with my car. I swear it was an accident, I do.. I do.
I'm a little curious to know their impression of me, I guess later today I will get the scoop on that.
Okay, off to read all your post. Thanks for sharing.

Didn't you have them fooled! :)
Don't flirt with Dad too much.
I think I should of read this post before I met him, hmm? his borther? :stupid:

I seem to have bad luck with parents.... they all like me, but i've had some bad first meetings. I met one mom after my boyfriend and I had crashed her car into the back of a cop car (yeah, that's another story). so it went something like: "mom, this is avlena, and btw, i rear-ended a cop with your car, sorry, gtg".
Another mom, i "met" while i was topless. She didn't realize I was spending the night, and opened the door immediately after knocking, w/o waiting for a response. Thankfully, I had my back to the door, so i just sat there until she left. (she had an entire conversation with him, while i had my head buried in his shoulder desperatly wishing to disappear!!) thankfully, she's a pretty liberal lady!
