Unbelievable. If someone is allergic to something or has problems when they consume it, they will usually not consume it anymore. How is any advertising going to make someone continue to consume it? If this were to catch on, you could sue any maker of anything that someone is allergic to- which would cover everything made. This is WAY more out of hand than the suits claiming that MacDonalds makes people fat. Yes, MacDonalds food is not health food, but it is not the only food out there. Neither is milk the only beverage and nobody is forced to consume it. Even the dairy companies themselves offer lactose free alternatives. Sue the lawyer for filing a frivalous lawsuit and costing consumers money. There are some people who cannot go out into the sun. Who are you going to sue on that one? God? He has it out there every day- taunting those who cannot go outside.

Milk makes me sick, but it's psychological. Remember when there was that big thing about the farmers dosing up the cows with hormones? A news report came out saying that the hormones were causing puss pockets to form in the cow's bladders, which would leak into our milk. Since I read that, everytime I pick up a glass of milk and bring it to my mouth to drink, instead of seeing milk, I see a glass of puss and it makes me want to puke.

Milk makes me sick. Nasty stuff. But instead of suing someone over it I just switched to juice.

Although they do have a point. In the advertising they say "milk does a body good." In a significant number of cases this is simply not true.

Consumers deserve the truth: There is no reason for people with lactose intolerance to drink milk.

yeah...no ****.

and there's no reason for people allergic to peanuts to eat peanut butter either. any other newsflashes from these people?

ooohh...I'm lactose intolerant...I could make...hmm...what..a dollar? Just like the the 10 bucks from being overcharged buying CDs. I don't drink milk but I do like cheese. Ah the potty stories I could tell but won't.

I'm allergic to peanuts...I have no idea what makes PB&J so good. I do like the ban on peanuts on air planes...except when the passenger right next to you breaks out a costco size bag the whole trip. Oh that was a miserable experience.

Lawyers make me sick to my stomach, but they are always advertising... think I should sue???

So, should the glutten intollerant people start suing bread companies? You advertised Twinkies!!! Gimmie my money!

I hope the judge crucifies these people.

Speaking of lactose intolerance, how well does Lactaid work? Call me cheap but I don't want to try a product that might not work. Is there a limit to how much dairy you can consume before Lactaid wears out and you have to run like the fools in the picture?

It's not too bad to actually have lactose intolerance, gives me pause when I go for some rich creamy delicious ice cream cause I might have to suffer the consequences. Nature's way of helping to keep my appetite in check.

Udderly ridiculous. :hihi:

Hopefully, the suit never sees the light of day. The only folks who really get anything out of class-action lawsuits are lawyers (no offense to our G|A counsel and counsel-in-training) and that's just wrong!

Just for grins I decided to write the guy, my first email is at the bottom. If someone wants to write my response back to him, just let me know :)

The lawsuit is for real.

i'm also intolerant - can you believe it, an italian that's lactose intolerant....

anyway yes lactaid works - it is a pill form of the the enzyme your body used to produce. i use the ultra strength. yes there is a limit - but you'd have to hook yourself up to a soft serve machine first. you can take like 3-4 pills ata a time - you can't overdose it. i usually take a couple pills before pizza or ice cream and i never have a problem. some times if i find i dont take enough pills i can take one after i eat if i feel bloated and it will calm things down.

they do make lactose free milk and lactose free ice cream. all they do is add the enzyme to the mix. it doesn't change the flavor, the lactose is basically pre-digested.

Thanks hoey. What really bugs me is that when I was young I really didin't notice or care or wasn't affected. But when I started high school, it started to really affect me in bad ways (that's how my parents and older relatives thougt it to be) cause I had to come home from school on days I drank milk or ate cereal at breakfast.

wow... i still can't believe it's actually real! all this time I've felt so alone in my battle against dairy products :neartears: pffffffffffffft, NOT! sheesh, being lactose intolerant sucks sometimes but it's not something I'd seek legal representation for.

I think it'd hit a market here at G|A. Most asian folk are lactose intolerant to a degree (as the site noted). But suing someone? Just stupid.

so what's the lactose intollerance equivalent of the asian flush? the asian...flush? :heh:

I am intollerant of stupidity. It gives me a great deal of anxiety and stress. It makes me feel ill and want to vomit. This greatly decreases the quality of my life. Think I have a case here?

You think I could just sue everyone whe starts a stupid lawsuit? Then I could start suing everyone who does spectacularly stupid things. Of course I would have to sue myself for all the stupid lawsuits I filed, but that's the price you pay I suppose...

I'm more "frivolous lawsuit intolerant."

Notice that the pic appears to target most races / genders:

White male
Asian male
Black female
Spanish (?) female

You're right, just stupid...

I'd noticed this topic the other day but didn't click on it until I saw the ad on Metrobus today. Wow, lol.

That is funny, lol. I live on Wisconsin Ave too but never thought of that.
