Pic of The Day: La Ventana

An architectural photograph. La Ventana is the name of the cafeteria in part of the Elenor Roosevelt section of the University of California San Diego. I liked the way the lights looked with the sky and the curved, wedge shape of the roof. I noticed it as I was riding my bike home from the Del Mar Fair.

Wow! I went to lunch there last month but it didn't look quite so cool then.

Judging from the sky, I would venture that the pictures were taken at twilight. I think that a lot of the appeal in the pictures comes from the artificial light on the wood (which would have been absent if you ate lunch there).

Exactly Markel! The artificial lights warm the color of the wood and there was still enough light in the sky to show it still as blue and that balanced the normal differences between the brightness of the sun and the artificial lights.
