View Full Version : Opinions on a video card.

I'm looking to upgrade my video card and would like some advise. I'm not a gamer so I don't need a really powerful card but I do a lot of multimedia stuff. Most importantly I have dual flat screens so I want a card with two DVI outputs. Most of what I'm seeing is dual monitor with one DVI and one VGA. I currently have that and the difference in quality (yes, they are both the same monitor) is driving me nuts.

My system is AGP, which makes me wonder if I should just deal with it for a while until I do a full system upgrade. That is should I wait a while and get something in PCIE?

6600GT with dual dvi.... it also has some newer video decoder chip or something...
Should be your best bet and under $130 if you look around.

just out of curiosity, what exactly are the benefits of a dual monitor setup?

You can work on one screen while being constantly bombarded with porn on the other :D

Thanks for the advise all. I think I'm going to go with that card. I see that it can power an HDTV setup and that would be a really good feature for me. Have you ever used the HD part of the card and if so how well does it work?
