I love Taco Bell. I don't know why they closed, but it's a loss for the neighborhood.

Is the parent company closing some of them?

It seems Taco Bell is quick to open new restaurants, and just as quick to close them. McDonalds is the opposite - you never see a closed McD's.

We also lost our Taco Bell a few years ago. I miss it.

Less food poisoning to pass around now. :heh:

I agree, that does suck.

I have a Taco Bell less than one block from my apartment, I tend to go there at least twice a week to be able to declare "I"M FULL!" from their value menu. Although since I'm in a college town they jack up the value menu prices ~10 cents a piece.

Regardless, I <3 Double Decker Tacos

Finally, someone who understands the intricacies of Del Taco.

Now if only I could find one in Virginia. :(

No, there is a For Lease sign in the window. I found out that a new large one was just built about two miles from the one that closed, so maybe that's the reasoning.

When they closed ours, the nearest one was 50 miles away. Yet Taco John's are everywhere. Go figure.

Me too! And then a month or 2 passes, and I forget about the incident. Foiled again.

Same thing happened to my Wendy's. We were sad. Nearest one is about 20 blocks from me. Ah well.

Businesses just happen to come to find that the cost of renewing the lease isn't worth it on a case-by-case basis. The first Starbucks in Manhattan was right around the corner from my old apartment. It also ended up happening to be the first Starbucks to close in Manhattan. The lease came up and they decided they had enough others around (geeze, such a shock), that it didn't make sense to renew this one's lease. It wasn't at all part of a concerted store-closing policy or downsizing . . . just made sense for 'em, I suppose.

I can't stand Taco Bell anymore. I used to go there all the time. Then I got a girlfriend. And we started having sex. And after sex she like to go to Taco Bell (less than a block away) I had Taco Bell atleast 2x a day for 2+ years.

Ugh. I did like their quesadilla's though.

Heh... well at least they had the "value menu". :heh:

After givin' her the "bean burrito with heavy sour cream" I'm sure you built up quite an appetite. :heh:
