You can often find Norton free after rebates. That usually includes an upgraders rebate- but you can qualify for that in several ways. First, with the first page of a manual for Norton or competing produce. Second, the disc from a Norton or competing product. Third, if your previous one is pre-installed, you can print out a page from your computer (the rebate tells you how). The rebates are mailled in seperate envelopes so if you need two upgrade rebates, you could use the disc for one and the manual page for another if you only have one. In fact, right now Frys/ Outpost.com has Norton Systemworks Pro 2005 free after rebates (includes Antivirus and the desirable Norton Ghost). http://shop1.outpost.com/product/4154373?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG Then you just need to find the Firewall. Norton Internet Security has both, but not Ghost. Check here for the deals: http://www.salescircular.com/ca/software/utilsp.shtml

I've known several people that have been very happy with the Free version of the AVG virus scanner.
I use Norton Corporate Edition, primarily because it's provided to me for free from my university.

I quit using Norton after my last license expired. I was tired of the high overhead that it places on the system. I switched to Panda for now.

AVG (which I've used for several years now and never had a problem with) is my choice. :)

Norton. I had McAffee before it was horrible.

is panda easy to use like norton? i might just use a free one for now or just go purchase one. Sense Jenny said AVG is good, I might just download a version and see for myself.

Panda just sits in the tray quietly doing its job. One think I like is that it updates twice a day. I would have trouble getting Norton to do its automatic updates once a week, sometimes. In fact, a few times I had Norton warn me that my virus signatures were out of date (something like 2 weeks old) because their autoupdater didn't work right.

well bought norton system works at frys and just barely installing it today. i'm thinking of just using the win xp service pack 2 firewall. is that okay? or do a need another one for safe security.
