Sorta both NSS and auto related: Fiance is in town, and my jeep is up for work, so we went to rent a car for the week. At Enterprise, they we prepping the compact we rented, and we noticed the spanking new Charger. She commented on who it blonged to, as she thought it was an employes, but they said, nope, just got it, not even a plate on it yet, and how would you like to have it for the duration of the holiday weekend and week for the same price as your compact? Well, twist the arm a little more....lol
I'll write up a longer mini review later, but so far it's made our weekend...get lots of looks everywhere.

That's pretty sweet. I love free upgrades.

Nice, but not quite as nice as upgrading from a Cavalier to an XJ8 (http://www.gotapex.com/forums/showthread.php?t=88432). ;)

I doubt it's being sold as a fleet vehicle. All of those rental companies have a few "elite" vehicles for rent. Jags, Land Rover, etc.. I don't think Dodge would devalue that vehicle for the sake of fleet sales. That's the job for the Ford 500 and Chevy Cobalt.

Believe it or not, supposedly it is. I was reading on a charger news group, and the word is the Charger fleet vehicle is a 170hp six, versus the 250 six and up the public buys. I can believe it, while I am loving my time in the car, this six is a bit..anemic at times..but nevertheless, I think the Hemi version is on our buy list for my next car. This would be one bad-a@@ police interceptor. She's on tap for a H3 to replace her Cherokee, keeping mine.

Last week at HNL, there was a huge shipment of these and the rental car parking lot was full of them. Now all I see driving around is the Charger and the new Mustang vert.

i have seen a ton of the chargers sitting on lots. Is it not selling as well as anticipated? Each lot seems to have 6-8 of them sitting up front. I am impressed that a brick can move that quickly, but i still dont like how they named it charger. its not worthy of that nameplate. However, it still is much much more worthy than the GTO.

Maybe it's not selling because it's so ugly? I know a guy who used to write a MOPAR newsletter who claims that he has yet to meet a fan of the previous Charger who isn't horrified by the new Charger's looks.
BTW, I had a '69 and was it ever a boat. I am sure that the new one is a lot more enjoyable to drive.
