I should be out playing soccer (my co-workers and I play 2x a week), but instead, I'm sitting here trying to get a dumb demo working, because I'm too nice to say NO. or even "wait for 2 hours". :banghead: Cuz if I left and played soccer I'd feel bad that there's some guy across the ocean waiting for our response, and having to wait an extra 2 hours because I didn't run the demo earlier. I really need to learn how to tell people to buggar off. on the up point, my supervisor got rather annoyed when I told him what they were doing, and told them to leave me alone until they get VP approval to get on my task list. but, i'd already agreed to do the demo today, and thus, no soccer for me. booooo! :bawl:

and annoyingly... after i told them the demo is ready, the piss-ants are taking their sweet time in coming downstairs. why do i get the feeling that by the time they come to look at the demo, I could have played soccer, showered, and had a leisurely lunch??? :mad2:

If it was really important that it get done by a certain time, wouldn't they have done it before going out to play?
Sounds more like they saw an opertunity to foist their work off on someone else and used the football as an excuse.

I need a two hour lunch.

For taking up your sweet time, they should let you go home early, to make your fiance Johnny's Pastrami for Dinner ;)

Where do you work that soccer breaks and 2 hour lunches are normal? Are they hiring? :)

Sucks that you got stepped on. But in the long run, isn't it better to be a nice person then a jerk? I would say more doors have opened because i am generally nice and help people out, versus people i know that only look out for themselves.

Nice people are great.

my company doesn't really care if you work a strict 9-6. As long as you work approximately 8 hours a day, and at the end of the week you've worked 40, they're pretty flexible on lunches, soccer breaks, etc.

and yeah, good point! Maybe it'll pay off in the long run.
