let me get you ready for Jamaica

Hey pretty lady, want me to braid your hair?
Hey man want some weed?
Hey mon, can i have one of your ladies?

I went there a year ago, while it was pretty cool the country is heavily dependent upon tourism and it really shows. We went to montigo bay, and didn't stay at an all inclusive place (cheap college kids we were). It was fun but we were out one day getting food and i had to get some security guys to stop this person from harassing us. We asked him were a food place was and then he told us, and then expected us to pay him. When i refused he threated to put me in the hospital, fun times :P

Overall if you are at an all inclusive place it would be great. Not having to worry about food would have been nice. We went to Negril, which was pretty cool. 7 miles of beach.. beach filled with people and chairs and bars so not much real beach. The waterfall place was fun to climb up, ha no way they would do that in the US.

I went to jamaica for like 2 weeks, will never go there again!!! Seriously STAY AT THE RESORT!! There's no need to leave the resorts and you'll just get mob'd by kids/adults trying to get money from you.

I went to Ocho Rios.

If you venture out you will see how poor of a country it really is its really bad.

We ventured out the one time to go to Margaritaville and we asked a kid real quick on the way to make sure we were heading right and he said yeah then tried to be our "escort" we told him to leave then he wanted money then he tried to hit one of us when we refused.

Stay at the resort.

uh oh

"Tropical Storm Dennis is expected to reach hurricane strength today as it moves toward Jamaica and Cuba. Dennis has the potential of becoming a Category 3 storm with winds of 115 mph, forecasters say."

I have been to Jamaica, the resorts are beautiful. The rest of the island is absolutly pathetic. I would not consider going there again. Try Aruba. They had only one tourist murdered and the whole island freaked about it. It's a whole lot safer.

I was in the Navy and have seen many 3rd world countries. Jamaica make them all look good by comparison.

I am in the Air Force and I agree Jamaica is the worst! I was in Kingston for some time and that place has the 2nd highest murder rate in the world next to columbia. Jamaica is only nice if you stay at the all inclusive resorts. Have fun though!

I went to Jamaica for my honeymoon 25 years ago. We have always wanted to go back, just to see what's different. Well, I just won a trip to Jamaica that I can take when I want before next June. So, we are planning on going next March...should be cooler, not rainy, and no hurricanes.
