Hoping someone here can help. I just purchased the following system:

1 Inspiron 6000D,Intel Pentium MProcessor 760 (2GHz/2MB Cache/533MHz FSB) $1,740.05
1 15.4 inch WUXGA LCD Panel for Inspiron 6000d $0.00
1 1GB, DDR2,400MHz 1 Dimm, Inspiron 6000 $0.00
1 128MB ATI Mobility Radeon X300Video Card, for Inspiron 6000 $0.00
1 80GB Ultra ATA Hard Drive for Inspiron 6000 $0.00

My question is, does anybody know what the hard drive speed for this is? I upgraded from the 60GB hard drive, but it said nowhere what the speed of the hard drive is. I'm hoping it's 7200RPM, and if not, how can I ensure it will be?

OK, I'm an idiot, I just figured out that it is 4200RPM. What do you guys think though, it only gave me the option of either an 80GB 4200RPM or 60GB 7200RPM hard drive. Which is the better option?

Unless you absolutely need the extra 20GB, the 7200rpm by a landslide. Soooo much faster performance.

I got it with the 60GB 5400rpm. its okay for me now since i don't really anything installed. I'm pretty happy with it.

But yeah, Like AplineJay said. the 60GB 7200RPM gives it a lot more performance.
