(names, addresses, phone numbers, birth dates). The database is found at http://www.zabasearch.com.

Check to see if your name and information is in their database. If so and you want it removed, send them an e-mail at [email protected] to request it be removed.

Unfortunately, they send you an e-mail back asking you to send them a letter to change or delete your information.

it is true that they show personal info, but the info is all from public domain, pretty much available for anyone that cares to put forth the effort. This engine just makes it easier.

I'm in there, but they don't have my birthdate to any of the items that show one of my two addresses they have listed. Some of the info there is quite old too. One of the addresses and phone numbers they have listed is from over 10 years ago. I have changed addresses and phone numbers at least 4 times since then.

It is also interesting to see just how many (or my case how few) people have my name when you do a nation-wide search. There's only 10 different people in the entire US with my first and last name, and I'm directly related to two of them (1st/2nd cousins). The others listed are probably distant cousins, since my family name only comes from one city/county in Ireland and even there it's not common.

Not to mention your last name, which doesn't really exist other than your immediate family thanks to Ellis Island. There are plenty of Ellis Island bastardizations of my last name out there, but my last name is the correct spelling (the only one you'll find if you go to Ireland).

Not only am I there in about 8 different spots but so are my kids. At least my grandkids aren't there. But most of the info is way old. Its pretty generic info

Whats interesting is when I click on the search function, none of them comes up with anything.

I routinely do searches for myself on the net to make sure I am not making any ripples, so I was surprised that it thought I would come up.

Edit: I looked for my wife. She is listed under her maiden name for an address that she lived at for all of 5 months! Whats even funnier is apparently my wife was born in 1946!!!! This could explain all the AARP stuff she has been getting.

Even better - my father is listed as living with my mother. They have been divorced since the early 80's and the address listed is one that was bought in 98! One that he has never lived at, in a state he never lived in.

I went out there and there are tons of me. Not sure where they get all the info, but I see a lot of issues with this. I started clicking on the links and then going to each site only to find nothing. I also go through the internet on a regular basis to see what is out there about me. I decided to click on the terraserver link and it took me to a page that basically said they do not support what they are doing and have asked them to cease and desist. I then decided to e-mail every site they link to, informing them of Zabba's use and what it might mean to them as a company. I actually got a non-auto response from Yahoo which says they are looking into it. I think if enough people e-mail the sites that this might be prevented. Maybe one of their loved ones will be harmed (Not that I wish that to happen) and then they can see that their site causes more problems than not. IMHO.
