My coworkers were talking about going to see that game also. But if the game is broadcasted on TV, I'll stay home and watch. :D

The game was amazing!!!! I've never been to anything like it. We had realyl good seats. The intensity was there, it was a real match, friendly nothing. All the big stars played except for Ronaldo. It was just crazy. Whenever Beckham had a free kick it was like a lighting storm of flashes. It really seems as if Real was just playing with them. They dominated the game. The Galaxy did hold their own, but possesion was all Real. I'll post some picks if I can find a way to actually get them to show up.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Ronaldo no longer plays for Real Madrid. He was basically traded to Manchester United for Beckham, wasn't he?

Ok...you are wrong. You have been corrected. :) He currently is still on Real, I believe it was Rio Ferdinand that got sent to Man U.

He might be on the chopping block for Adriano (another Brazillian forward) though.

Wow, I live in LA and am totally tuned out from MLS. I never realized the Galaxy were playing Real. I'm sure you'll have a blast at that game! I really want to see Freddy Adu play :)

Yeah...they are trying to make some space for him, I heard they may not keep Owen. That is a big contract.

I saw it on Fox Sports webpage under soccer. I went on a mad frenzy to try and find more info. It was a great experience. Again, as soon as I find somewhere to host my pictures i'll put some up from the practice session, and the game,

In other Real Madrid news:

MADRID, Spain (AP) - Real Madrid said Thursday it will host a Major League Soccer representative side in a preseason exhibition match.

The winner of the game on Aug. 23 will receive the Santiago Bernabeu Trophy, which has been contested annually since 1979, and usually features Madrid and an invited foreign team.

Madrid recently played two games in the United States as part of a 16-day tour which also takes in China, Japan and Thailand.

It beat Mexico's Chivas 3-1 in Chicago on July 16 and then downed Los Angeles Galaxy 2-0 at Carson, California three days later.

Robinho passes medical supervised by Real Madrid

MADRID, Spain (AP) - Santos forward Robinho passed a routine medical exam in Brazil under Real Madrid's supervision, sports daily Marca said Thursday.

The newspaper said Madrid's involvement indicated that it would soon end weeks of negotiations by signing Robinho for a fee of US$36.5 million (€30 million).

The head of Madrid's medical services, Alfonso del Corral, together with an unnamed representative of the Spanish club's board, are said to have attended Robinho's exam Wednesday in Sao Paulo.

The Brazilian doctor in charge, Joaquim Grava, described Robinho's physical state as "perfect" despite the forward's refusal to train since late June.

"On a scale of 1-10, I'd give him a 20," Grava was quoted as saying by Marca.

Santos president Marcelo Teixeira has said Robinho can only leave if Madrid pays the US$50 million (€41 million) buyout clause in the player's contract, which runs until 2008.

The Brazilian club's attitude has led Robinho, who has missed three Brazilian league games since returning from the Confederations Cup, to grow increasingly irritated.

The forward, who is being fined an undisclosed amount by Santos for every day he fails to appear, has reportedly instructed his lawyers to take the case to a local labor court.

Robinho has said that Teixeira last year agreed to release him for US$25 million (€21 million). Santos' president has denied making any promises.

Robinho helped Santos win national titles in 2002 and '04 - its only significant championships since the late 1960s.

Crazy...probably a bit embarassing.

TOKYO (AP) - An almost full strength Real Madrid was upset 3-0 on Monday by Japanese club Tokyo Verdy on the fourth match of its Asian soccer tour.
Verdy captured an early lead with a sixth-minute goal from Daigo Kobayashi. Brazilian striker Washington slid home a goal in the 27th minute for the local club.

Madrid's England striker Michael Owen nearly narrowed the gap in the 35th minute but his shot just missed the mark.

Takuya Yamada near-post header early in the second half put the result beyond doubt.

The Spanish club's unexpected loss came at the hands of a team that has conceded 26 goals in six games in the Japanese J-League and is still regrouping after having recently fired Argentine coach Osvaldo Ardiles.

England captain David Beckham started for Real Madrid after missing a weekend match in China with a hamstring strain, but was replaced in the second half.

Real Madrid is set to play J-League's Jubilo Iwata in Tokyo on Wednesday before wrapping up its Asian tour with a friendly in Bangkok.
