Vehicle Description

Everybody needs one of these, cleaning out the garage, this little car is so much fun, it is thrust powered by 2 GE t-58 turbines, has 4 fuel tanks, power steering, power brakes, fire detection, fire suppression, roll over protection, self starting and quick. I have taken this car to the salt flats twice, the first time it wanted to fly @ 140 mph, but after adding the spoilers and air dam it stayed solid thru 187 mph with a lot more room to go.

Holy cuckamunga... does that thing require 1.21 Jiggawatts of power?

BTW... where is the air intake on that monster? Don't most jet turbines require a massive intake nozzle? (I could be mistaken...)

Please. With power like that, I'd expect higher test speeds than 187. It's not a TRUE jet car unless in can do at least 400.

H <---wonders if you can kick on the afterburners to toast tailgaiters.

I was trying to figure why it wanted to fly at 140 mph. Well, if he had the T-tops off to grab intake air, and like DF asked, where are the intakes..then the interior of the car would act like a big air catcher and make it extremely unstable. At least that's what I am thinking.

All I know is that at 88mph that thing does some whacky stuff.
(sorry, but being 36years old, I too had to throw in a BTtF joke)

At least that's what I am thinking. Most non-exotic cars get pretty 'flighty' over 100mph. Some down force does wonders for stability.

Picture 1 shows the whole turbine and you can see it is still in the compartment and not extended into the cabin. From picture 5 there are air vents right behind the rear window. They don't look big enough, so they are probably robbing power.

From his listing:

air intakes are on the sides and top of the engine cover, no compressor stall thru 145 mph, for fast and salt flats running a modified engine cover is put on it to take the air off the top of the roof to supply more air and keep salt out of turbines

I've got a 91 MR2 for sale if anybody wants to replicate this. Turbines not included.

But could it be able to "sustain flight" is the question.
