What can someone do if they were to "steal" your driver's license number? Like how can they commit fraud or whatever with it?

If its your social, then you're in deep doodoo :)
If its the randomly-generated numbers and letters thing, you're probably safe but I'd call the local DMV to double-check.

Driver's license number is usually just another way to verify that you are who you say you are. Normally they use the social as the primary way to do that.
