i needed to pick up a mouse for my Mom in Staples today, and i asked a guy in there, "where are your mice?"

he waffed at me. :(
are they not called mice when you are speaking of more than one?

Actually I think heard that when you are talking about a computer mouse the plural form is mouses. As much as it hurts to say that.

You say To-MAY-to, I say To-MAH-to. It's honestly one of those things......

....but overall, I've heard that "mouses" tends to be the more accepted term to help differentiate the devices from their rodent counterparts.

I disagree. Look it up in a dictionary. The plural of Mouse is Mice. It makes no exception based on it's usage.

If you tried a mouse on your computer and it was broken, and then a second that you tried on your computer was broken, you would say "Both mice were broken." not "Both mouses were broken.".

You have to refer to them as a grip of mice or a pride of mice or a school of mice.

When I worked at OfficeMax...I would call them meece with customers...just for fun.
