Well... I finally got around to installing the new SystemWorks 2005 Premier on my PC and checking out the "new" Norton Ghost 9.0.

At first, I was like... Hmm... well what did they change. And then I stumbled across the "Full and Incremental backup scheduling" section.

:wow:

I'm like ... DAYUUUM!!! Finally, they have put the incremental scheduler into this program (please pardon if this feature was in the 2003 version... pretty much since Ghost 98, I've been running it from DOS disks and not using the Windows interface.) I know that the "corporate" version of Ghost had incremental backups, but this is the first time I've seen that a home version has had it.

Well...over the past week, I had some PC problems and pretty much lost the last 4 months from my C: drive. (Yeah yeah.. I knew I shoulda backed it up more frequently... call it a "lesson learned") However, if Ghost can now do incremental backups with a full backup once a month, then I'm all for that.

Hopefully there aren't any "underlying issues" with using this scheduler... Has anyone out there had a chance to use these features?

Does it:

1. Backup and restore outside of windows (like old Ghost did with floppies)?
2. Backup to USB harddrives?

From what I can see... it doesn't restore outside of Windows. (However, I still have a copy of Ghost 2003 that works just fine for doing that should the need arise.)

According to the support information, it can backup to USB devices.
