Buy the Original IPOD, or the Color?

Since the new color IPOD came out, it seems apple is trying to liquidate some of the older monochromatic models.

Not that its much but about 40 dollars cheaper than the same size color one.


What is your opinion on this, would you buy the old version IPOD, or the new Color one?

I'd personally go for the color simply for the photo functions. I'm not sure if the bateries any different, but i'd look out to see which one has more juice too.

My new iPod Photo sounds significantly better than my 3rd gen did. I haven't compared it to my wife's 4th generation model though.

I will say that while I was annoyed that I had to replace my 40gb 3rd gen iPod with a 60gb iPod that I didn't think I would use, I REALLY prefer the color display. Being able to see album art is nifty and now that I bought the belkin flash card reader, I can upload images to my iPod when I'm out taking pictures and not have to bring my laptop in case the card gets full (which happens when you're shooting 8.2MP RAW+JPG). You can do this with the 4th gen as well, but with the color models you can see the pictures on screen and even display them on a TV if you have the right cable. :)
