since my parents are planning to move soon, i'm checking out stuff in my sisters' closets to see what can be tossed out. my older sis is a total packrat and buys a lot of junk.
well, she happens to have two audrey hepburn barbie dolls in mint condition, never taken out of the box. they are to represent her role in "breakfast at tiffany's." one out is pink and the other is black.
my sis bought them for like $20 each in 99 i think. i saw the exact same ones being sold on ebay for about $67 each two days ago wtih about an hour left. do you think she should sell them or keep them longer?
I'd say sell it. First you could always take it to the antique roadshow though ;)

I think collectibles are a fickle matter. If you want to keep them longer, feel free. But if you're tired of holding on to it, then sell while you can still make a little money. There's no guarantee they'll be worth any more in the future.
But I think if you can get your hands on some of your sisters panties, they'll sell well on ebay :D
...not that I would know of such a market... :hmm:

if you dont mind keeping it, keep it and wait for the value to go up.
those things always skyrocket after a decade.

I would check around and see if you can find a doll shop in your area that buys and sells collectibles.(or antique shop) If nothing else they could give you an idea of how much the dolls are worth. Good luck.

The dolls are "worth" what they'll get on eBay. There are more doll buyers on eBay than anywhere else in the world - including any doll shop in your area.
I'd sell them now. It's pointless to speculate in the future value of something like that. Just think of all the bozos that held onto Beanie Babies one minute too long.

No, do not attempt to sell your parents on eBay. It's against their user policy. :D

:hmm: What's your sister have to say about you selling her junk?
