I have a 3 year old Dell Dimension 8250 whose hard drive just got fried, and needs to be replaced.

How do I find out the largest possible hard drive my PC can accomodate? Is there a list of this somewhere?

Great price, but if you read the reviews, many of the buyers got defective units, and it wasn't just a few. Right now, I would steer away from these drives.

You can get a 400G Hitachi drive, ...there are also I believe 400G Seagate drives..though I didnt actually check.. From my own personal experiences with the 400G Hitachi's ... I'd recommend strongly against using them. 2 out of 8 of the drives I've had the 'pleasure' of using topped out at under 40MB/s sustainable thoroughput, whereas the other's wildly ranged between 55 and 60MB/s sustainable.
So in lamens(sp?) terms.. as far as I am concerned, the drives are not stable by any stretch of the imagination.
I've had good luck with 250G WD Cavier's (I believe they make a 300G version now?)

good luck,
