When I was a kid, my dog's favorite food above anything else was carrots. My wife's dog was the same way with green peppers. Weird.

Cats can not taste "sweetness" they do not have the receptors for it. Most likely they enjoy some other aspect of an item, it's fat content perhaps.

My weiner will eat just about anything that falls in the kitchen. Mrs. Kevster never had a dog before and this was a new experience for her. When we first got my weiner I would come home and Mrs. Kevster would inform me of what new vegetable or food item the weiner liked now - carrots, apples, potatoes, broccoli, cucumbers, eggplant, tomatoes, etc.

My pets eat frozen mice (thawed first of course) and assorted insects. We have two snakes and a tarantula.

My cats win...HANDS DOWN!!

They like:

1. Any type of deli meat or cheese, although they *prefer* maple ham
2. Chicken
3. Steak
and the best one of them all...........

ORBITZ GUM IN PEPPERMINT
---seriously. My husband had some in his pocket the other day when he came home from work. He took off his pants after work (and left them in a pile on the floor as usual) and got changed. The next thing I know the cats are nibbling and licking his pocket!!!!! So I get the gum out, figuring it was it and put it on the dresser. (Not thinking that the cats get up there too!) Well later that night before we went to bed we turned on the light in the bedroom and found the ENTIRE pack of gum mangled and strewn all over our bedroom. All the pieces were not only out of the package, but out of their wrappers and the wrappers and the pieces were licked clean!!!!!! So, admist my laughs I picked it up and put it in the trashcan in the spare bedroom. (soon to be baby's room btw =) ) The next morning I find the same mangled scene. The cats knocked over the garbage can and got out all the gum and licked it again! THEY ARE SO BAD!

My rabbit eats all our leftover veggies and stuff. We feed her the stalks of the broccoli after we cut the tops off. We give her the lettuce that is starting to turn brown (still good...I just don't like to eat it.), and the ends of the carrots after we are done cutting them up.

My parents had a hermit crab that LOVED popcorn...that's pretty strange.

My weiner will eat just about anything...

And Kev...I don't want to know about your weiner. We're talking about pets here. :disa:

I have one cat that will eat just about anything...he is even willing to sit between my 2 dogs to make sure he gets whatever my kids drop first. Also, I have a dog that pretends to like veggies and dip but we discovered she just sucks the dip off and bury's the veggies in the sand.
