Pic of The Day:Yellow Plums

I thought they were cherries because that is how big (small) they are, but the leaves look more like plums. Up near Sacramento with the morning sun shining on them.

Those are definitely yellow plums. :drool:

The skin on them is smooth, while an apricot has a fuzzy texture on the outside. The plum is much rounder than an apricot is as well. My grandmother had an apricot tree and made everything with them - jams, dried apricots, apricot-flavored bread, etc. My parents have a plum tree (among others) in their backyard, so I know the differences between plums and apricots pretty well.

Edit: A lot of plum varieties don't get very big either, so Zippyjuan's observation is quite valid about the size of them in his commentary.
