Just read her blog for today. How sad she doesn't even know when her son reads! Glad to know she is enjoying all the movies with Tommy though!

They made some mention during Laura's big announcement that she didn't know what she was coming home to until the day before.
Sounds like the separation was news to her.

Sounds like the separation was news to her.Yeah, Dave filed for separation the day before she came home. But interestingly, her diaries while she was gone rarely mentioned Dave, so I don't think he visited her much... even when the kids came, they were not with him as I recall (except maybe once). And I think in the TV interview she said it was a surprise/shock. So, it's like DaveCain kept his plan secret, then dropped it on her the day before, not even arranging for a place for the mother of his kids to safely stay?

I bet if we knew all the details, it would be a very understandable situation, hard and emotional for everyone involved, but very understandable considering their situation. (only talking about the Davecain, Laura relationship....that little tommy Laura things CREEPS ME OUT)

about their seperation, I really dont know how the legal side works in a speration/divorce (heck Im still figuring out being a newlywed) but is there a legal reason he would have filed? Such as a "just in case" (just in case she started using again) filing for his kids? Does a legal seperation give one of the parents any temp. rights?

I feel like they had a meeting one day at the station, and someone announced that they needed to work on their Druggie audience, and they needed a story to bring the dysfunctional listerners into their realm, to replace the disillusioned listerns who had left in droves.

I loved this teaser for a photo on the J&J webpage.

CONSUMER COMPLAINT FROM JEFF...Come on, if you're going to sell stuff to my kids, all I'm asking for is a little truth in packaging!

UMMMMMMMM......how about a little truth IN YOUR SHOWS PACKAGING? If they are going to sell stuff to the public, could they at least be semi truthful.

Please pardon my spelling.

Well, yes, sounds a bit strange that Dave didn't do anything "for the mother of his children". He may have reached the end of his rope with her. It's sad he didn't want to stick around after rehab to see how things would go. But he may have felt like he had 3 children for a while now and didn't want to deal with her anymore.

There's more to this separation that they have revealed so far.

On her Channel 51 interview, Laura said that out of respect for Dave she didn't want to go into more details. She said that addictions are hard on the spouse and family, and that she came back a changed person from rehab. And she said that part of the reason she and Dave aren't together is because she came back a changed person from rehab and this makes it hard.

Does anybody believe this? If she came back a changed person, she would have changed for the better, right? Wouldn't Dave be happy about the positive changes in her? See, things just don't add up here.

Carol
07-23-2007, 11:57 AM
Maybe she finally changed for the better, but in the span of time where she was using, Dave changed too. So now, she is stuck playing catch up to a normal substance free life, while Dave has been living sober for XYZ amount of time and because of this, there is now a divide that is hard to fill?

pax
07-23-2007, 12:03 PM
Was Dave abusing something too? Why file for legal separation anyway?

From Laura's Diary today:
"This is the song Chip wrote for me…"Mrs. Cain is famous. Mrs. Cain is famous. Mrs. Cain is famous, but I don't know why." Isn't that special. I laughed so hard." BARF!

I saw that as well... we can see the values that she is instilling in her children.. that "don't you know who I am" mentality.

I checked out Mattie's website...there's a picture of Mattie and Tommy...could his head be any more oversized than it is? Is this photo some kind of photoshop thing or has he really overpumped his ownself so much his head IS getting bigger?

Suggestion for a new nickname for Tommy: FATHEAD. in all caps, of course, for extra added additional emphasis.

I don't know if anyone has read the latest comment on Don't Date him girl but here is the link http://www.dontdatehimgirl.com/search/comments.asp?ddh_id=53535&photo=1&profile=Tommy+Sablan&return_url=index%2Easp%3F

Okay, so I can't figure out while Dannell, Christie, Sharloe and other women haven't said anything publicly about Tommy. I would love to be joking about his behavior but he has some serious and scary issues with women. I have a really good friend who saw Tommy for awhile and he turned out to be a real ass. The last time she saw him he came up from behind her grabbed her arms threw her on the ground face first into the carpet. I told her she should have called the police, but she said she was too embarrassed. She fell for his radio act. He obviously knows how to prey on the right women who won't speak out against him.

Everything comes around eventually. I hope Tommy ends up in jail someday. He has a very dark side.

This is a copy of what was written about Tommy in the link above--he really is a pig...spread the word girls so NO ONE (yes caps!) else becomes his prey!!!!

Little Tommy's a little weasel
7/18/2007 12:26:00 AM
My friend was Christie's boyfriend for two years when Little Toady (as we refer to him, including Christie) chose to weasel his way into their lives and destroy their relationship. When he did the radio stunt where he pleaded with listeners to help him find the beautiful girl in the black mustang, it was all staged. He approached her and asked her if she would go along with it. Then he called my friend, Christie's boyfriend, on his cell and asked his permission and told him he would buff he and Christie out with dinner reservations to a nice restaurant, which never did happen. Then Little toady used his son Eddie to gain Christie's friendship by inviting her little brother, Kyle, who was living with her, over to play at his kid-friendly house. I'm not letting Christie off the hook, but my friend was getting divorced from a cheating, drug-addicted alcoholic wifen and he was having trust issues and Christie and he were working through it. So needless to say, Little toady's timing couldn't have been better. My friend's heart was shattered and it took him a while to get over it. Christie did come back into his life toward the end of hers and little toady's engagement and told him what a ""toad"" tommy was and how he was cheating on her, but she didn't care because she wanted to dump him anyway and she used the cheating thing to get out of the engagement. I wonder if he even knows that. I know he tried to stay in her life as long as he could until she just couldn't take him anymore. I think she'll always regret that bad decision she made because she couldn't have found a more faithful, devoted guy in my friend. Little tommy needs to be castrated. Only then will our daughters and wifes be safe!!

Does anybody think that, especially given Tommy's history, that something is happening or could happen with him and Laura?

He's a single man, unattached. She's seeing her marriage dissolve. She's vulnerable in some ways with her marriage in trouble and now with learning to live clean and sober. If Tommy is as "predatory" as some here talk about with women, we can all imagine what could happen. Also, if he has no morals or any ethical standards, and he's living with Laura, who is an available female, then the stage is set.

I'm sorry, but I have no sympathy...none whatsoever with Tommy's past "conquests." They all have known full well what they were getting into. This whole sad tale about the carwash girl. give me a break. And her ex (now reunited with her, what a prize)...if be believes she was a victim and not an equal and happy to be there part of the problem...just from the posted story where she took her son to Tommy's Playland. Please. She's just as bad as he is. Taking a young kid to a "potential suitor's" place like that. creepy.

Whether or not Laura gets together with Tommy, I don't care. They both bugged me before, they both bug me now.

On a postive note (for New Reader's benefit...) I'm glad Delana was back on the show this morning.

Please don't lump my friend in there. She dated him three times and this was supposedly between Sharloe and Christie. He wasn't blogging 4 years ago and she did not know he had cheated on Dannell then. He came across as a really nice guy and said the show was "just an act". Yes, it did take her three dates to figure it wasn't which may have been a little slow, but she still didn't deserve to have her faced pushed into the floor. No one does.

I forgot to mention she eventually changed her number and then moved to avoid Tommy's middle of the night drunk dials asking her if she was alone in bed or not. She was not aware of his prior domestic arrests or the stalking tendencies before all of this or would have never agreed to a date.

I'm not asking you to feel sorry for her, but don't tell me she was asking for any of this.

Wouldn't Dave be happy about the positive changes in her? See, things just don't add up here.

(tell me if my capitals make more sense than Tommy's)

My take on it is that Laura was FORCED to go to rehab, not her choice. Dave, in order to protect his kids HAD to file for legal separation so he legally could take custody of his kids for THEIR sake. Who knows what state of mind Laura was in and she could have skipped town with the children.

Positive changes? How long has she been back? Certainly there are trust issues and he needs to learn to trust her again, she needs to GAIN the trust from him. He filed for separation not divorce. It's not the end of it for them yet, they need time.

Laura has to be accountable for her actions. Whether or not Dave had partaken, he is not using or putting his kids at risk.

What Dave IS doing is watching out for the benefit of his kids.

Those House Rules from Tommy to Laura are lame (and again, more staged crap). The only thing he missed is "don't pee in the pool". Maybe after he reads this, he'll add it.

ok, this gets stranger and creepier here as time goes on.

You mean Little Tommy calls up girls in the middle of the night and asks them if they are in bed, and whether they are alone in bed? Holy Toledo, he sounds disturbed.

Then again, I think long ago on this thread, somebody said Tommy had been in court for domestic violence and also had been charged with stalking someone in the past too.

Tommy keeps saying he likes to go to meetings with Laura, but he knows he doesn't have a problem himself. He may have certain problems in dealing with people or dealing with women. I don't know if there's a 12 step program anywhere for things like that.

sadsadsad...if your friend still finds these kinds of winners, well, then...if not, and this was just a one-time bad choice, i'll not lump her.

Tie-breaking question here: HOW FAST DID SHE RUN AWAY ONCE SHE FIGURED IT OUT? Select one to find out if we have a winner winner winner:
Answer (select one): a. Faster than Jerry gets out of the studio at the strike of 10:00 am on weekdays, other than his vacation days?
b. Faster than Tracy Johnson said, "Ill take those" when he found out there were payola-like gifts sellable on EBay, lying around that no one had logged into the record book, or
c. As fast as the grey ring appeared in the toilet at Tommy's Rooming House for Wayward and Recovering (Lonely) Women?"?

I'm talking more about the women who "find themselves drawn to him," those who have stuck around, collected cars, cash and other gifts, and then want us to believe they are hapless victims of his wily ways.

However...for your friend any any potential Tommy-dates for the future...a call or two to the police dept. immediately following to register this kind of unwanted attention is a good idea. Or a letter from an attorney to let him know some of the consequences of his continuing the harrassing behavior. Keeping recorded messages, any written materials, etc.

So, at the end of his house rules, he says the rent is late. This brought to mind the old bumper sticker that says:

CASH
GRASS
or ASS
Nobody Lives Rent Free (or something like that)

So, Tommy doesn't need the cash, Laura isn't supposed to be using grass...that only leaves the last option...

Actually, Chip seems to have a keen, penetrating ability to see things as they are, and wonder how others lack his apperceptive ability. In Chip's little world, he simply lacks the necessary skills to take his thought, "Mrs. Cain is famous," and turn the statment "I don't know why," into a question:

If Chip were, say, a high school graduate, he would write "Why, in a world of such accomplishment and talent, of such sacrifice for the great of the human race and condition, in a world of soldiers and scholars, teachers and authors, musicians and poets...even radio-bloggers.... is Mrs. Cain famous?"

Now THAT's special.

So, around 8am this morning, I decided to tune in to see if they had gotten to the "big" announcement since they always take forever to get to the point. To my suprise, I think they did! Anyway, I quickly shut off the station when I heard Jer say this...

*The convo. went something like this*

Jeff: So, before we went on vacation, we told you the 5 things we love, and we stole the idea from Oprah.

Jer: Actually, Oprah gives her audience the stuff that she loves, and we just tell you because we don't have the budget. But we know you love us. You want to be like us. You want to be just like us.

Then nothing. No one said anything. No one laughed annoyingly...nothing. Are you kidding me?

I think Laura has a lot of issues to work on. I'm sure we all wish her good luck in dealing with her issues. If she can get her life turned around, both she and her kids will benefit. I can't help but think that there are things we're not being told, when you consider that she doesn't have custody of her kids.

Whether it was due to the legal separation and legal regulations there, or whether it was voluntary on her part that she couldn't or didn't want to cope with the day-to-day demands of parenting at this time, either way, there's something else going on behind the scenes.

I hate to think she's an unfit parent in any way,but there's got to be some untold reason why the mom who survived rehab due to thinking about her kids, and inspired to be there for her kids, isn't there with her kids.

DUMMY!!! SHE WANTS TO BE WITH YOU BECAUSE YOU GIVE IN!! For goodness sakes, this reeks of a spoiled little girl who knows how to wrap daddy around her little finger. He hasn't figured that out?? GEEZ LOUISE!!

Every dad should have "their little girl" but when he thinks or insinuates that it's because he is a good father, he needs to come to planet earth. It just smacks of him thumping his chest around. (insert the barfing icon here)

Just wanted to add a few observations. I got to thinking about what LT said about life after J&J and that it would be different. The next day in his blog he went out of his way to point out that was not going to happen anytime soon and that it could be WAAAAAAY down the road. I also got to thinking that he has put himself out in the limelight like never before(the Blog, the hiking group, the community involvment). Is this LT's way of setting up for life after J&J? Is he laying the groundwork for a next radio show with Laura and ??? I don't really think that Laura has a future in TV or film, but producer extraordinaire Little Tommy might try to figure out a way to use the events of the last few months to garner enough sympathy for Laura to make a new radio show. Maybe line up a few interviews to talk about the ordeal and show everyone that she's back and still fighting. Does anyone know when the J&J contract runs out? Or maybe it's just my imagination...

:spock: Oh dear, sweet jesus. Please tell me this is not so. Please please please tell me he has taught his son some lick of respect for women, please tell me he is teaching his son how to NOT be like him. Please tell me his children will not continue his cycle of being abused/an abuser.

Ah, but Carol, he has clearly stated in his blogs and on air how he has double standards for his son and his daughter. His son can :gle: at women and is expected to, while his daughter is to sit so innocently and virginally by and not look at another man. But she can spend all his money. Wow, why didn't I teach my kids that!!

I have to chime in on Laura's 'supposed' daily diary. More like 3 days a week. And to think that she didn't discuss her time on Ch 51 for the I Beat Addiction interview.

I read her diary expecting nothing, and I am not disappointed. When will she 'tell all'? Why do I care?

LDBM (Laura's Diary Bugs Me)

Oh yeah, and I so hope that there will not be a Tommy and Laura love child in their future. I don't know why I think this might be the next breaking news.

I think their contract is up in Sept of this year..Seems like when they came on board here (and when this thread began) was Sept 2007.

You are right. They started 9/2005 and it's a 2 yr contract. I'm sure they'll go on vacation again during their contract negotiations for mo'money.

Confusious say: J&J will retire when their contract is over, and they're priming Laura and Tommy to be the next Jagger & Kristy. Whatever. Still won't listen. Just imagine it.....Laura talking about herself, and Tommy talking about how great he is. Gag.

Jake needs his own show. He can start now on XM and move to Star when J&J go out to pasture.

Didn't J&J say that this was the last contract. That they were all done after this one? Jer seems to have found a second life producing plays, I seem to remember him being the one having to be dragged into this contract. Will it be the Showgram with Jeff and Laura and their goofy sidekick Randall T? And it is Mid July, wouldn't any contract negotiations be done or on-going? Damn, I'm starting to sound like Dilbert.

Dilbert, you gotta read more and faster to keep up. If you quit thinking you were so clever as you typed, Tomas, I mean Dilbert, you wouldn't be a good ten pages beeeehind.

T/DRBMWHTHIS (Tommy/Dilbert really bugs me when he thinks he is smart.)

Ritchie

As far as warning women about Tommy, it won't make any difference. Even if they knew about his ways they still would of gotten involved with him.

Hot women are usually insecure and that's what he is counting on. Besides, most women think that they can change him.

Thank goodness we have smart women in this forum that don't fall for that garbage, but the dumb chicks are out there so he will always find someone to buy his lies.

Also given Tommy's past character, you can bet he has made or will make a move on Laura. It doesn't matter if Dave is a friend of his or not.

I also believe that Dave filed for separation instead of divorce in order to protect his kids. A divorce would of taken time through the courts. This way he can protect MB and the future stripper from the bad influence that is Laura Cain.

I love Rick and miss him in the mornings...Jen on the other hand has always bugged me (when both her and Laura were on J&J it was sometimes more than I could stand), although I will say she is a little less annoying now then she used to be.

I really hope that now that they've told everyone about Laura living at Tommy's, that they won't make a bit about it EVERY day and we'll hear endless tales about the "roommates".
:puke: (Sorry, but that was really necessary this time!!)

This board is way funnier than the show is!

Her boobs are bigger because of her weight gain, not a boob job. I'm sure she's done the botox and other stuff. She did come out today?? and say she has not had one done. I believe it. If she had fake boobies, they would look way different.

Hi everyone
I have been a lurker for quite sometime and finally decided to post after waiting a long time to go through the registration process. I too miss the old days of J&J when they were more inventive and original. Does anyone remember their "talk to" days? I really loved the old lady at a tire store or something like that. I can't remember what they named her. Anyway, I miss those days when they were actually funny at times and not stale and boring like these days. I chuckle once in awhile, but I think Rick would be a good replacement for J&J. He's fresh and naturally funny. As for Laura, I think she has a long way to go. I really hope it works out for her and Dave, for the sake of their children. (Oh I remember the old lady's name- Cracky Mc Clure)

It was probably taking up too much maintenance time to keep the sideburns matching the toup. He has to work 4 hours per day, people! That doesn't leave a lot of hair maintenance time.

I feel kinda bad saying this, but i kinda hope that Laura and Dave do not get back together.....for the kids and his own sake. The more I remember about how Laura was always broke, spending $$ when davecain told her not to, borrowing money from her kids (did she ever pay them back?!) and always going out and having "fun" without the family...makes me feel that she only did things for herself, never put her family first, and never did anything for them unless she got something out of it. I don't feel that she is going to change or put her family first or foremost

The next day will be the Little Tommy and Laura show live from Cowles Mountain (Randy won't have to drive far). Seriously though, I have enjoyed the show at times before they moved to their present location. Never met them though. Interesting reading here though. Lauras daily drama before rehab was a train wreck waiting to happen. Mr. Dave gave up a serious job to be more of a family man and look what it did.... For a split second I was feeling bad about mocking the screwed up ex druggie that is Laura Cain, but then I thought about how she makes her cushy living off of retelling old celeb gossip....such as exclaiming in her nasal hypocritical voice that Lindsay Lohan "Is such a mess" this morning. I mean, shouldn't this be the juciest, most page turning chapter in Lindsay Lohans life by Laura's Standards?

and all that guilt I had?

it melted right away!

Yeah, I thought that Laura's comments regarding Lindsay Lohan were so shallow. She said something about the fact that tons of her rehab friends had relapsed and how hard it is to stay sober. But she didn't say a thing about herself. Not that I would really expect her to but I also wouldn't expect her to say stuff about her rehab experience during the segment. So...either tell it ALL or shut the **** up!

Dilbert is not likely Tommy, spelling and puncuation is too good for it to be Tommy. Could be someone from the Showgram though! The lack of any response convices me that he/she is just trying to stir up dialogue. And as I pointed out earlier, if they were looking to start a new show, what better way than to have everyone talking about you. I read something on the internet that said that the best rehab places have a success rate of only 30 ro 40%. Overall, about 80% of patients relapse at some point.

So Laura has her work cut out for her with long term recovery. The odds are against her. I bet those people who work out the best have the best family and support system with them when they return home from rehab. Hopefully Tommy and her other friends and activities like the AA and NA meetings will give Laura what she needs to succeed at this.

Ok, I'm also a lurker...but I finally got approved to post.

I'm a law student, and my guess as to why Dave filed for legal separation was because he wanted to put up safeguards. Legal separation means that anything he earns or acquires is now off limits to her, and vice versa. If he's afraid that she's going to relapse and dip back into the money pool, this is a good way to secure his interest and keep her hands out of his stash. It also could very well be a warning/veiled threat that she better shape up because he means business this time.

I emailed the program director, Jimmy Steele, and General Manager, Bob Bolinger and referenced them to the posts where Tommy called people knuckleheads and insulted them. I told them they'd lost a listener. I emailed a few days ago, still no response...

You guys crack me up. I'm in the midst of taking the bar exam and the first thing I did when I got out was go online to catch up with you guys! Thanks for making study breaks more fun...although if I fail somehow, I'm going to blame Laura for going to rehab and causing all this drama.

Here is my take on what is going to happen after the contract is up:

1) Jeff and Krusten start the Detrow Do-Gooders Crusade and in addition to being on an Ohio AM Channel to do their Radio Revival morning show, they tour the Midwest preaching about how the end of the world is coming. People ask Jeff how he knows this and he responds, “Celine Dion is closing her Vegas show in Feb 08! What bigger sign could there be? Plus I really need it to end soon because I’m really embarrassed walking around with this lame tattoo of Ohio on my arm.”

2) Jer retires from radio and produces the revival of CATS with the genius and hilarious idea of replacing the actors with his pet cats. Opening night is going well until Memories starts playing and the cats to go beserk. Jerry is sued for his millions by the family of a lady who choked to death on a hairball and ends up wandering La Jolla homeless begging for a latte.

3) Tommy gets a job as the DJ at Cheetah's but gets fired after he eats all the free cheeseburgers and keeps forgetting to change the music since he's too busy staring at all the boobs. He then decides to start a support group for people who are addicted to going to support groups but disbands it after a year when he realizes no one else is ever going to show up. After blowing what little savings he had, Tommy finally ends up as a carny using stuffed animals to lure girls to his booth.

4) Laura launches a line of little girl’s bathing suits but it fails since most people require their daughters to wear their whole bathing suit and aren’t interested in purchasing just the tops. For some reason she can't find another radio job. Desperate to be on TV again she hears KUSI is down at the US/Mexico border to do a live story on immigration. She poses as a Chiclets hawker and when she's asked her views she says, "I’m like a big like deal in the Chiclets selling world. I’m definitely like the prettiest like seller of Chiclets down here. Like look at all these like dirty kids. They should like take a bath or something. Did I like mention how I’m like the best mom ever because I like give my kids like free gum?” The reporter responds, "Umm, okay, ut what do you think about the immigration issue?" Laura responds, "How cute is my outfit?" She is then banned for life from all media.

5) Randy gets a job at F Street but is quickly fired because he just keeps pointing at things and giggling. He then embarks on a career at McD’s and realizes he’s found his calling working the Drive Thru because finally someone is actually listening to what he says.

insightbyjake and SadSadSad, you two rock [I wanted to, but didn't, put that in caps]. Your posts have me busting up.

Dilbert-1985, frankly, go away. Go back under whatever rock you crawled out from. This thread has been going on for a long time. I lurked for a long time before ever registering and then posting. And while I come in and contribute from time to time, I would never [resisting them caps again] try to tell everyone how this thread should be or what the rules should be.

I ditto what Layla said. While I want to put Dilbert on ignore, I hate to miss out on anything. Yes, there's a carwreck = I am gonna look.

I don't think Tommy is doing it anymore, but was anyone else offended when at the end of his diaries he said "My name is Tommy and I'm a blogaholic"?

I'm never been to AA, nor have any of my loved ones suffered from the disease, but it seems like he's making it out to be a joke. I would be pissed if it directly affected me - I'm upset even when it doesn't! :|

Admittedly I am bored at the moment so I went to the JNJ website and checked out Jeff's Vacation pics. Um, the family shot in the pool, could he [Jeff] look more like Jer [said like Chandler Bing from Friends].

I emailed the program director, Jimmy Steele, and General Manager, Bob Bolinger and referenced them to the posts where Tommy called people knuckleheads and insulted them. I told them they'd lost a listener. I emailed a few days ago, still no response...

I called and left several messages for Bolinger (619-291-9191, I suggest you all do the same), I wanted to express to him that the people on the show are rude, crass, hypocritical, dried up, no talent bafoons. I wrote a letter and faxed it quoting things Jer had said, and things Tommy had blogged expressing that I felt the subject matter was very, very adult in nature, and not at all "family oriented" as they claim the show is. I also gave my opinion on the Laura/rehab thing...I know rehab is trendy right now, but I don't exactly think she should be praised/rewarded for having gone to rehab...what does that teach our impressionable kids?

After about a week and several phone calls (none of my calls were ever returned), I was basically told not to listen by some office staff person. So 11th reader, please let us know if/when you get a response and what they say to you. Thanks!

sad x 3...great job!!!

I gotta laugh at the thought of Laura and Tommy doing a show..ohmygosh. That is a hoot. Sure they can....in College Station, Texas. Or wait...Barstow...yeah, Barstow would be their market.

Hey, Maybe Krusten can pull some strings and get them on in one of the markets in Tennessee or Oklahoma. I'm sure her old apt. is still up for rent!

J&J will retire at the end of this contract...cause no one else will take them. This is a multi-million buckeroo kind of thing. There's no room for trying out some never-will-be amateurs.

J&J used to have it. Unfortunately, they no longer do. Which is why they surround themselves with fawning morally-bankrupt nobodies.

Delana is the only one in that whole collection who could continue on with some real market appeal.

(in my very humble opinion, of course.)

Good point Khaki. I've often wondered how he introduces himself at AA meetings. I attend AA meetings regularly in support of a friend who is an alcoholic. Speakers always introduce themselves as, "Hi, my name is (name) and I'm an alcoholic." Seeing as Tommy insists he's not an addict because he hasn't hit bottom or lost anything (guess the wife and family don't count), I wonder how he introduces himself before he opens his big yapper.

I caught myself listening to the showgram this morning when they were discussing the children of Hollywood (kids of the stars). They agreed that Suri Cruise was just too cute. They made fun of Billy Joel's daughter Alexis, sort of. Made more fun of Apple, the daughter of Gwyneth and Chris. They made the most fun of Bruce Willis' daughters.

Since about 1/2 of the showgram are parent's (Laura, Jeff, LT) maybe they can make fun of their own kids on tomorrow's program.....I'd tune in for that.

I'm not trying to say it's okay to make fun of their kids, but hey, they are making fun of other kids.

The station doesn't care because they are still getting the advertising dollars.

If you really want to send a message, then call the advertisers and say you will not be purchasing their products because they advertise on the show.

The only thing the station cares about is ratings and money. They couldn't care less if they lost a listener. Now an advertiser, that's a whole different matter.

Remember all the advertisers that pulled after the Imus thing? Where is he now?

"Hi everyone,

I'm not sure if I'm in the correct site, but does anyone here think Jeff and Jer are annoying? I'm not certain because I'm thinking we should all try to write comments about their show. What do you all think?"

"Maybe we could all post ideas and thoughts and create names for ourselves. Like, mine could be stupid f**k -- or, if that's too obvious...maybe some obscure name like.. "Has anyone heard about Laura Cain's rehab?" "I think this could be a funny post." "Maybe we could post deep thoughts like, 'Why is Dave Cain referred to as, DaveCain?'"

"Or, maybe we could post comments about how Tommy should think about losing weight? Maybe they could have a contest and hope he loses weight and then he could find a hiking trail and we could follow along on his blogs -- just an idea..."

"Anyway, I wish some of you could offer opinions about the show and stuff like that, cause that would be cool if we could all be, like, part of the same gang that thinks alike."

"My job could be, to be the guy who stays alert to all the new, on-the-edge-things that are happening on the site and in real-life." "For example, I just heard a rumor that J& J are leaving 'Jack 100.7' for 94.1" That kind of cutting-edge reporting could make this site 'bitchin!!!!!'"

Gotta go now gang, cause, I'm gonna set my cassette-recorder to record that rockin'-hot babe Laura Heeder tomorrow on the radio. Rumor has it she might be hookin up with a SDSU party guy named Dave and I do NOT want to be out of the loop!!!.

Jake, your posts are so funny. Some thoughts of mine:

I don't think there is a Michelle/That Girl. I think she is just some chick that Tommy made up to throw us off the scent. Maybe it is the name of his favorite stripper or his blow up doll, but I don't believe she is a real person that he is involved with romantically.

In Tommy's blog today, it was so gross to read his little bit about him and Laura looking at each other across the room and locking eyes and smiling at each other. Gross. He is such a bad liar when he tries to convince us that he isn't into her. His dream about Stacy and Laura hooking up with him made my stomach turn. He's such a dirtbag.

He also said in one of them that Laura was snoring. The blog was freaking posted at 2:45pm! Why is she sleeping in the middle of the day. Didn't she say in one of her blogs that its nice to not sleep all day anymore now that she's clean. Hopefully it was a random nap and not a slip back into her old patterns. I also don't believe that she went to that party and didn't drink.

I also like how Tommy got all worked up about someone "wronging" his buddy. He wrongs people all of the time and has no problem with it. He doesn't respect anyone, yet expects respect for him and his. Nice. Hypocrit.

Laura hasn't changed at all. I don't think listners should be going to her for advice on changing their lives and recovering from addictions.

It’s amazing to me that on this site people are so quick to assume someone is Tommy, or a multitude of other people they think are related to the “Slewgram.” If you are not talking crap about Tommy, Laura, Jeff or Jer, then you MUST be one of them seems to be their rationale.

And it’s funny how everyone has jumped on that bandwagon of thought…even newbies who just joined the board are doing this. Wow, talk about followers!

I was accused of being part of the Spewgram for having my own opinion. Now it’s Dilbert. Granted he seems a little behind the ball…….maybe he has a dial-up modem.

Then there are others who post and comment as if they are the (unofficial) leaders” of this board. Like they are the ones to set the tone of things. It is evident in how they post and also in how they question/put down other posters. It’s arrogant…think insightbyjake for an example.

And perhaps the most stupid thing is when, after one of Jake’s “insightful” offerings, gals on the site are praising him and posting cutesy little things like “wow, you should have your own show,” or “that was great…you are sooooo funny.” Isn’t this reminiscent of women throwing their hankies at men as they try to get their attention?

Well Shello, if you don't like it, leave. I'm not posting "cutesy" anything. Jake is funny. J&J are not. I'd rather hear Jake every morning on my radio.

The point of this board is to come here and gripe, express frustration, pick fun at, etc. If people want to express sympathy or root in any way for the members of the showgram, this really isn't the place for them. They all can start their own boards (and I can assure them none of us will follow), or they can go on 1 of Tommy's walks and skip happily behind him and tell him how great they all are.

Awhile back someone posted as a joke, that we should compile a list of sponsors for the Jeff and Jer Showgram.

I know it wont do any good in the end....

but maybe we should start a letter writting campaign, or compile a list of us, who will boycott the sponsors on the Jeff and Jer Showgram and mail the list off to the sponsors, as an FYI.

I was one of the ones that suggested that. It's been a start, with some people calling the station, and others calling the sponsors. But until we tell the station that we're calling the sponsors - it won't make a difference.

Someone else said it - we have to let them know that we're talking to the sponsors. The station told someone that if they didn't like it, they didn't have to listen. Whoever had that happen to them - call the sponsors and tell *them* that. And be sure to let the station know that you're doing it.

I suggest that every time we tune in, even for a minute, listen for a sponsor name, and then post it here.

Here's the one I heard this morning: National University

Shallow, I am not "real."

My first name is not "Insight." It's a simple moniker that says, "what follows is a random or reactive thought inside the simple mind of a guy named 'Jake.'" Thus, I do not write "insightful" comments, I write comments that are a product of my personal views. By the way, you say "followers" as if that's a bad thing. When someone writes, attempting to be funny, it's not the worst thing in the world to have people laugh at the post. It's also not horrible to have detractors (hint: I'm referring to you)

Yes, I made fun of Dibert's posts Shallow -- the things he writes and the way he writes them. I make fun of "fictional" charactors -- people who are NOT real but are cartoon-like -- people who deserve to skewed for their occasional, limited thoughts....for example, Jeff & Jer.

Finally, to insult me by calling me "arrogant," well, it normally would hurt my feelings, but coming from you, I'll take it as a compliment. Hang on to your hankie....I don't think I'd be tempted to pick it up.

(P.S. Just between us, Shallow, my "real" name isn't Jake -- but that shall forever be our secret)

And Whome, I do not say things in support of the people on the Spewgram. With the exception of dangling Randy, they are all out of touch people who think their money makes them something (“I don’t care what people think…I have tons of money” mentality) and who think the rules don't apply to them. As a native San Diegan who has listened to them since day one (when they were good and Tommy drove his Ford Maverick painted party brown as they called it) I remember them as they once were, before the big money came into play. (Back when Randy drove his Moped from San Carlos to Kearny Mesa for work) I didn’t just discover them and jump on board the criticism ship.

Wabbit? you sound like the cheerleader who was found out to be a slut....and no one wants to be her buddy anymore. That's kinda the angle you are looking for, right? Huh, far from it. I don't see much buddy material for that.

I think what I see going on is a lot of people with way too much time on their hands (when they should be raising their three children under the age of 5....oh yeah, being a mom is easy!) to be calling sponsors and station management as well as writing letters to advertisers (for some it smells like a personal vendetta rather than fun gossip and criticism) speaking out against Jeff & jer. Hey, with NO advertisers you would not be able to listen because the show would not be there. And what would you do with your time? Having ramps and a trampoline in the front yard is a huge risk. Hope he has lots of insurance! Tommy follows a predictable schedule and often posts when he will be home and when he is not. It would take a kid about four seconds to figure out a good time to try out the ramps. The neighborhood parents must just love him.

Has anyone here seen Tommy's house? What's it like?

You can think me to be a "bandwagon jumper" if you'd like, even if only to make yourself feel better for not catching on that Dilbert is NOT a random poster on this board, but, in the end, you'd be wrong. I have lurked at this board for quite some time, I've read back to the very first post, where a lot of the people posting now were actually FANS of J&J. You know why I did that? So I wouldn't be behind. Here's a route for Dilbert to take, if, by some chance it IS just that he has dial-up, read ALL of the posts before commenting. Hmm, what a novel idea. Get to the last page, read the last post, then if you have something that you think needs to still be covered, throw it out there. If however, you choose to be annoying, and continue to jump in and be redundant, expect and accept the backlash.

You say that like its a bad thing. No Jeff and Jer? Thank god, perhaps they could introduce some radio TALENT. What would I do with my time? Go back to enjoying the morning radio show on 94.1 and stop cringing everytime they say its a family show or "they do it all for the kids"....what exactly do they do for the kids? Jer teaches them how to set up an inappropriate joke? Teaches them about how to go to rehab, and play it off like it was nothing? Other than the movie mom, I see nothing that is child friendly about that show. Wabbit? you sound like the cheerleader who was found out to be a slut....and no one wants to be her buddy anymore.

Seriously tho, I see J&J fading away out of town in the next 2-3 years.

You're way out of line here. The folks that chat about J&J are voicing their opinions and for you to slam on them and others who appreciate their "Insights" is gonna get you banned...

Hey I found you guys when I googled something to do w 94.1. I used to have to listen to all SD morning radio as part of my job. When that ended, I started listening to Adam Carolla because I love Adam. Well, Adam went away and I am all over the vaaaast wasteland that is SD morning radio. But seriously, the Jef and Geriatric Spewgram is the worst Dr Phil nightmare I have ever heard. The whole thig is unfunny and un fun in the extreme and ANNOYING!!! LBM LBM LBM LBM. The whole rehab and living with Tommy and his lame lame lame blog! It's like a circle jerk crossed with group therapy. Not my scene. I am disgusted. With this show and with SD morning radio in general. Monique is OK bnut not edgy enough for me. DSC is as bad if not worse than J&J (smug and lame, all three of them). Keep up the good work.

I dunno, but don't you wish there was a moderator for the showgram, J & J Website, Tommy's blog and Laura's diary.

The Moderator could set and enforce rules like only a 30 second set up for Jerry's jokes, only two guffaws from Laura each day, shutting off Tommy's mike when he starts to pat himself on the back for all his greatness, etc. If they got a Moderator maybe the showgram would be good again.

I've been on vacation for awhile (but I swear I didn't time it to coincide with J/J so that I wouldn't miss a moment of their live show) and just now got caught up on all of the hilarious posts on the board. I haven't logged on to J/J to read the latest "accident scene" stuff that I am morbidly drawn to by LT or Laura/Michelle yet, but I see from this forum that Laura lives with Tommy. Wow, I never saw that coming, did any of you (my attempt at an homage to Dilbert)???

I agree with all of you who think this whole blog thing is to generate a buzz about Tommy so that he can present a proposal to Clear Channel that he is popular enough to do the morning show after J/J go. Afterall, he is so popular, he has to get city/county permits to merely take a walk at the park.

What about Rick/Delana? Would that make a good morning team? Sadly, I haven't heard enough of Delana without having to listen to endless interruptions and donkey brays to know if she is actually entertaining in her own right, or is she simply good compared to the rest of the goofs on that show?

Finally, I complained in my first post on this board about how I resented the show when I discovered the phony set ups (like pretending Jingle Ball was being arranged at the last minute and that the "talk to" calls were live). But as show-savvy as I thought I was, I truly had no idea that the "most beautiful girl at the car wash" bit was a total fake. Geez, I feel sort of dumb for falling for that one. :banghead: Am I the only one who fell for that at the time?

Keep making me laugh, everyone!

I am ashamed to say I fell for it too. I fell for the whole bit over and over. I have that problem of giving people the benefit of the doubt. I will be that pollyanna at times because I want to. But I can be as mean as the next person when I need to be.

What slapped me into reality was the replies I got from LT when I sent a couple of emails. I wished I had kept them. I'm just glad to know it really wasn't me!!!

And I love this board because people are saying what has been running thru the back of my mind for quite ahwhile.

Just discovered this site...LOVE IT! Used to listen to J&J years ago but got fed up with their whole fake humility..."oh gee, we have this idea...we don't know if ANYONE will show up but..". Sooo tired the whole build the idea down so we can look even more spectacular when all of our groupies show up.

DSC has begun to follow in the same footsteps of arrogance and stale material. Hopefully, the big bosses of Clear Channel will check in occasionally to see that people really are tired of their overpaid, over-confident, under-talented "talent".

If you notice, my post was after 1am, my children were in bed and I was awake waiting for my husband to get home from work. Maybe I should have taken the kids down the street to the liquor store for lotto tickets...bet you would have kept your trap shut then. I must also be awful because I make my children take naps during the day and use that time to do things (call sponsors, clean, cook, etc) instead of pass out on the couch myself. And right now, as I type this I am neglecting my kids because I'm sitting on the couch with them watching baby einstien instead of letting them run around outside naked, or find knives in boxes. Boy I'm so glad shello came along to set me straight.

Anyone have any doubt that his evaluation was when he worked this all out on the mirror?

"Man, I'm a good kisser..."

Interesting. When certain somebodies who knew him fairly intimately stopped by, they neglected to mention this...and you would think they would still be swooning...

someone find that carwash girl and get her to post some dirt here. Was she the same one whose name Little Tyke was going to tattoo on himself? or was that a different one, maybe a stripper?

Hey, "Wilbur" was a talking horse, so we better not use that name, we could all get confused with someone else who is sometimes called "Horseface..." It was the funniest thing. I looked around to see if Jeff and Jer were in the bushes or someone playing a joke on me. They were just little girls like 12 years old saying they just wanted my autograph

Looks like Fathead is finding potential new wives for Jeff....

Wilbur was the pig in Charlotte's Web. Mr. Ed's owner was, I believe, Wilbur. Arnold was indeed the Green Acres pig.

I believe Krusty is 35. I am sorry but a woman who's best friend is named Kymmy is too young for Jeff!!!!!

Did anyone hear (I think it was on Tues) when they were talking about Lindsay Lohan, and Jeff said he knew where she was going to end up...Tommy's house. THAT was funny.

Was I dreaming or were they really doing a bit this morning about where Laura's underwear from Jr. High is??

And is the whole first part of her diary today about how bad of a mom she is? AND - did you notice her diary is NOT sponsered by DR. Bucko anymore???

From Tommy's Blog [*hands head shamelessly*]. Yes I went there [dang you WhoMe], and I find this:

"You know what? I think I’m in a great mood because of MISSION BAY and FIESTA ISLAND…..I think changing it up a bit and DOING new walks and hikes is GOOD FOR YOU…..I will commit to Torrey, Cowles, and Iron on the weekends AS USUAL, because it’s FUN and it’s a healthy thing to do, BUT during the week, I think I’m going to explore all the places to WALK AND HIKE all over town…….People have emailed me about San Elijo, the Bonita golf course, Scripps Ranch, 4S Ranch, etc. I think I will use the WEEK MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY to walk around town at all the cool places."

I think I want his job. Really, to have that much time to work out. I am gonna have to have a talk with my boss. I think I need some time out every day to go walk all over different parts of San Diego.

And I just had a terrible thought. What if Tommy tries to become the "new" Jerry Schad?!?! Horror! :2far:

It wasn't odd at all. Billy made the rounds to ALL the Clear Channel stations. Mikey (the Mike Show on Rock 105) & him had a small argument.

From Tommy's Blog:

She is handling all the stress and she is just taking the HIGH ROAD on everything and I am just proud to say, she’s my friend. I wish all people that go through what Laura is going though would handle themselves like HER and treat the other side with respect as she is doing and focusing on those children as she is.

Of course we dont know what is going on, but on some dysfunctional level, Doesn't Dave get a free pass to do as he wishes, divorce her, find a new life? Find happiness away from his life that was filled with lies, and a drug addicted spouse/ parent. She should be handeling (sp?) herself with grace, and taking the high road, sounds like she kinda screwed everything up with a good ole drug addction that not only landed her in rehab but I am sure it was a trying time for her family and put an absurd amount of stress on her husband.

Also, by making your friends talk about how you are taking the high road, doesnt mean you are. She says she wont talk about her divorce on air.......she just lets everyone think that Dave is being a supreme ass by always mentioning she is taking the high road/ being respectful/being understanding or having other people say it for her.

Yeah..she is taking the high road :disa:

Also, scarry thought. Jeff told Laura that she was one of the best parents he knows.....YIKES!!!! What a scarry world we live in today. Where an addict mother who lets her children run wild at her work, and is a permissive parent is one of the best parents a person knows.

And I guess I dont need to mention that Dick weed is not an appropriate term to use on a public radio show, that is supposed to be kid friendly.

TIAOSU (tell it all or shut up)

Laura's taken the HIGH road is the reason she is the situation she is now. It is really disturbing how they are all praising her for being so great. Look she is an almost 40 year old woman who chose a life of partying over her children and family. Granted if she's put that past her then they don't have to keep reminding her of past mistakes but glorifying her now is just wrong. The few people I know who are past addicts will talk solemnly about the bad times if they talk at all. It was an embarassing times in their lives when they made bad decisions and are ashamed of their past behavior. The last thing they want to do is flaunt it and say how great they are now. They know they hurt people they loved and will always regret that.

You reap what you sow. You lie in the bed you made. Etc, etc, etc.

On the topic of a "family" show, in one 30-second period this morning, I heard "Ass", "Ho", and "Son of a Bitch"

We're all adults here (taking an assumptive leap), but I hope thoughtful parents are taking heed....

Wabbitsd

Interesting, if Laura is a great Mom, and she is taking the "high road" (not the one sadsadsad mentions, but the other one) what does that say about all of us who are parnts who made conscious decisions to be as good a parent as we could, outside of substance abuse and self indulgence?
Should we all start taking money from our kids? Sleeping the day away? lying and using family resources to keep our noses entertained?

I think it's a little odd to think that she's a great parent with her recent past. Her rehab is so far just a ploy for attention and her "sober" experience is sure not something I would put any bank on. If her "friends" are going to start congratulating her on her self deception at this point, they sure aren't real friends. And that includes Fathead the ultimate enabler.

What is a good parent? Is it one who is so needy they make their kids take on the "parental" role of assuring her that she is loved? That she is their best friend?

I don't know how Dave Cain fits into this. We've made some assumptions here based on vague information. But her thinly veiled references to her not mentioning the divorce...well, shoot, Laura. (and we know she reads here, too...they all do. Once they hear there is stuff about them, not a one of them can resist.)

If you want to take the high road, here's my advice. Bite the bullet. Your marriage, as you knew it, is over. Maybe you are just too self-indulgent to be a mother and a wife at the same time. You're still trying to be party and attention central. You have two kids who deserve more than to be your source of support while you indulge yourself yet again in the whole self-pity of post rehab. If you continue to lean on them, and not be there for them, you will only assure some future therapist of a steady income.

Ritchie

Okay, here are some examples why LBM so much.

Her marriage is falling apart and she is out shopping and buying clothes that are "so cute". Again, it's all about her.

She decides that she looked so good with a tan that she buys a tanning membership. Again, spend time thinking about everything except working on the marriage.

And her parenting skills are non-existent.

From the diary: Oh, btw…I bought Evie a shirt at Old Navy that says "I'm Kind of a Big Deal." I was beyond excited!

Teaching her daughter to be as self centered as she is.

Thanks for the welcome, Ritchie, and for the encouragement, Jake. Yes, Ritchie, I do feel that the show "sucks donkey" and have felt that way (to a degree) for some time. This board doesn't ask for an intro from new members, but I wrote one anyway:

I was never in the Jeff and Jer targeted demo (I'm about the same age as they are, you see). I listened to Hudson and Bauer when they were having their heyday. I first tuned in to Jeff and Jer when they were still considered edgy (Q106?) to see what the buzz was about. While I was listening that first time they said something disparaging about Hudson and Bauer; I don't remember exactly what they said but the idea was that Hudson and Bauer were getting old and stale (neener, neener, who's old and stale now?). I was offended mainly because it was literally only about a week after Joe Bauer's (first) wife died and, edgy or not, they should have laid off. So my first impression of them was that they were rude and low-class. Again, I clearly wasn't (and still ain't) their targeted demo.

I didn't listen again until H&B went off the air. J&J were entertaining and funny at times but even back then I would change the station whenever I heard even one of the following:

1) Mention or discussion, or, God help me, the sound effect of farting
2) Mention or discussion of Jer having sex, or, later, of Jeff not having it
3) Mention or dicussion of breasts
4) Mention of anyone's bowel movements, especially Jeff's
5) Poor imitations of the accents of non-native English speakers, usually those of Asian or Middle Eastern descent, and all of other mocking of minorities they did and still do, in the name of humor. Hello? It's not funny. It's racism.
6) Whenever my children were in the car with me (the only place I've listened). Because, as has often been mentioned, this program is not appropriate for children and never has been (see, at the minimum, #s 2, 3 and 5, above).

So obviously I often changed the station, even during the years when many others did not. This board? Compelling and fun. And right about J&J. And they have the best smilies. :thumb:

Her shopping addiction is obviously not cured.

Why is she living with Fathead? Can she not afford a place on her own, with a space for her kids (if not, maybe she should stop wasting her $ on clothes tanning & Lord know what else)? Does she know that she would go back to drinking & using if left alone? Is Fathead's bed that great (we all know it's not, but she's such an idiot...)?

I think Laura being alone, right after rehab and separating from her husband, is not a good idea. If she were living alone she would drown in her own sorrows and probably relapse. I think it's awesome that she has a friend like LT to be there for her, as annoying as he can be.

I agree, Tabatha, that Laura being along right now is not a good idea - I only question her choice of "roommates":stupid: - what kind of environment will serve her best, help her young children stabilize through the trauma of separation, and get her focused on either salvaging her marriage or rebuilding a new, healthy life, which is not all about MEMEMEMEMEMEMEMEMEMEMEMEME

Longtime lurker Laffy here. I haven't laughed though in quite a while.
I've been listening since the other other other station and I really miss all the fun and excitement that used to come out of that show.
One of the first shows I listened to was them calling the toilet paper company and asking over or under the roll, which is correct? Too funny!
The place I used to work at had the showgram as the "on hold" music you'd hear. We had people all the time asking to be put BACK on hold so they can hear the rest of the bit.
I miss those days.
Why can't they do more stuff like:
Gigi Bellows from Ramona and her adventures getting her license at the Poway DMV
The Bill Clinton look-a-like who they rode around with and who got a free breakfast at McDonalds
Samurai House Shopper. Heck, Samurai anything!
Phone Scams like Dallas Pellachai and the electricity running through the plumbing
Harrassing the Piss-burgh Steelers fans during the Playoffs
A million clicks for Emily
Joking with and ending up paying a caller's unruly roommate to find another place to live
...and everything else that made the show such a laugh riot to listen to in the mornings.

It was better when Laura just did traffic and helped out with female voices for phone calls now and then.
Don't like Randy. His incessant laughing throughout the show makes me want to scream.
J&J need to remember that you don't quit playing because you grow old. You grow old because you quit playing.
