I agree with the poster about the "First Thing You Know" bit. I can't believe they strung us along for so long. Remember even one of the Brothers Gibb did a celebrity call-in and they asked him what's the first thing you know? UGH!
No wonder Laura strayed and went down the wrong path. Doing the Daily Dirt, all she talks about are celebs on drugs and alcohol and living life stupidly.
"What You Think About, You Bring About."
"You become like the 5 people you hang out with (or discuss, in Laura's case) the most."

Yeah, Wonk! now, anonymously somehow, they must drift across the internet and show up on their computer screens during the show...
Anyone catch Jeff's zinger comment about Lane Garrison's PSA the other day? He said rather than saying, "It happened to me" he would have had him say, "I did it"---Laura just gave a little "hmmm" and no further comment. I too am getting a little tired of hearing her read story after story about all the celebs going into rehab and her thinking they sound so pitiful and out of control. Don't they get that everytime a story like this comes up, especially read by her, that we're all just amazed she's still even got a job, and wondering if she's got to pee in a cup on command?
This whole thing with Laura and Tommy just bugs the snot out of me---all the sexist garbage he spews on the radio and his blog for his kids to hear and read---some "New Sheriff"! And nice example Laura is setting for her little ones with her moving in with "Uncle Tommy". How confusing and sad is that for them? Geez. All this talk about their great parenting. All they do is buy them things and take them out to eat it sounds like. While they date, sleep, tan, socialize, dance and shop in between. (and maybe Laura's fitting in a meeting here and there between bronzing and tango sessions).

Dear Loyal Listener,
Thank you so much for taking the time to write me. I appreciate your comments and concerns about my BLOG. I am COMFORTABLE revealing my personal life to the world and don’t mind looking like an ASS with the comments I make.
I understand the random CAPS can be annoying, but I think of letters as BOOBS and I like BOOBS to be as big as they can possible be. Every time you see a letter in CAPS I am thinking about BOOBS. As you can see I think about BOOBS a lot. Hey, what size are your BOOBS? If they are big I would like to look at them. Maybe you would be up for a BOOTY CALL? I know where you live because I have your IP ADDRESS so I can be over there at a moments notice. Just Kidding.
Anyways, my BLOG is the most popular BLOG in the world. I am a TRAIN WRECK and who is not going to stop by to VIEW that.

hmmm
Laura does NOT have the following:
*gas money
*enough time to sleep
*rent
*the kids full time
But she does HAVE:
*tanning membership
*dance lessons
*movie dates
*dinner dates
*shopping dates
I am sick and tired of her complaining and whining, but even more disgusted with those around her praising and idolizing her!
hmmm, she sounds nasily again, and has not mentioned any "meetings" of late...coincidnece?

I read that the success rate of many rehab places is less than 50%. So Laura statistically has a good chance of relapsing. And the patients who do the best with rehab and staying sober are those with the best family and social support systems at home after they leave the rehab community and return home.
So we know Laura has had the intense month long rehab stint at Hazeldon (sp?) in Oregon, and then 2 months at the beach rehab in Newport Beach, I think it was? Then she returned home to a difficult family and social support situation; her marriage falling apart may have been totally unexpected to her. Unfortunately the odds are against her. So if people see signs that she's not sticking with the program, unfortunately it wouldn't be surprising.
I think at one time Laura commented that relapsing is part of some people's recovery. So I wonder if in her mind, she may have some relapses and not feel like a failure if it happens to her.
Then too she has built in excuses such as the separation and living out of a suitcase at Tommy's and the stresses of her kids, if anything happens to her.

By definition,a single parent is a parent who cares for a child without the assistance of another person. Laura is a part-time, separated mom. I don't understand why "single mom" is thrown around like that, and why single parents seem to be put on a pedestal. I'm sure it's difficult, but why are they so praised for something that they chose (except, of course, in cases like being widowed, abandoned, abused, etc.)?

SadSadSad, I'm glad you relapsed back to this site! It's OK - we'll be your support system. And "what Tommy meant to say" is priceless. Take notes for the future, FH. :wavey2:
In all Tommy's blogs and Laura's notes from rehab there was only one mention of Dave visiting; all others had either Tommy visiting or family or friends bring the kids up. Don't think the marriage crumbling was any big surprise. Maybe his filing the day before was hurtful, but I do think he did so for protection and if he hadn't been visiting and she hadn't been mentioning him as a support system throughout, I am sure she knew she wasn't coming back to June-and-Ward-Cleaver-Land; as much as she thought she'd deserve it for all her hard work and deprivation. Not ever having heard apologetic remorse from her bugs big time.
Dilbert-1985

In Laura's Channel 51 interview, Sandra Maas asked her about Dave. And Laura didn't really want to talk much about "the husband issue" as she put it. She said out of respect for Dave she didn't want to talk in detail about their relationship. But she said that addictions are hard on the family of the substance abuser, and that Dave went through a lot with her addictions. And she said that she came back from rehab as a different person, and this was part of the reason that they aren't together now.
This really doesn't make sense, to say that Laura came back from rehab as a changed person, and that's why she and Dave aren't together. If she came back changed, she would have changed for the better. If she didn't come back as a better person, then why did she "graduate" from rehab when she did?
Why would she and Dave NOT be together if she returned as a better person? I think she just doesn't know what to say about her and Dave, and maybe their couples' issues are more her "fault" than his?

In respose to a previous post, being a single parent is one of the most difficult jobs on the planet (unless you are Laura Cain). I was raised by a single mom who worked so very hard to make sure that we were taken care of. We had no support from my "dead-beat" dad. The LAST THING my mom would ever do however, is complain about her situation...she would never have made anyone feel guilty about what happened to us. She also would not want to have been placed on that mystical "pedestal". However, now that I am a parent, and in a stable marriage, I thank my mom each and every day, either aloud or in my heart, that she gave me such a great foundation in life. Now that I am a parent I can understand how frightened she must have been, wondering how she was going to make ends meet. She should be placed on a pedestal. She is a goddess!

Yes, I have relapsed. And I will take a page from Ms. Laura Cain and not take any responsiblity for my addiction and inability to stay clean. It's all youse guyses fault for being too funny.
As for "Amused". It's probably a good thing she doesn't get involved in our banter. Tommy would probably flip out and cause her more grief than she's already had in her life. Just because she isn't posting doesn't mean she isn't listening, though.

I feel like I have typed this before, so excuse me if I have buuuttt.
Perhaps Laura did come back a changed person (saying she came back a better person is a subjective term, however I assume she came back clean) Maybe it is both of them that changed, perhaps once Dave understood what was going on with Laura, and how big of a problem it was he had his mind made up, and moved on with his life while he was in rehab. Maybe he did some healing while she was away, or they both did some healing and licking of their wounds and when she came back, he felt that not only she changed, but their whole marital situation had changed. Perhaps he figured he didnt sign on to be married to a druggie, and that he wanted differently in his life, which he deserves. Everyone deserves to be happy, and Personally I feel that if he needs to move on with his life, or she did too much damage to heal their marriage then he is fully entitled to his happiness.
She.Screwed.up.
Plain and simple.
True dat about FH giving Amused grief (and God knows what else)--we can hope she does her best to balance out the chaos that reigns at Casa de Big Deals. Same for Dave.

Here's the deal: You guys used to be funny and informative on this site. I was hooked for a couple of months, but now you all seem so judgmental and mean, mean mean.
Everyone one goes through rough times in their lives and I mean everyone. Mistakes are made. Kids are dragged through crap. Husbands and wives each have their own drama/story.
I've been married 27 years and it's not always been easy, but I can't even imagine being in the public eye and trying to make my life normal.
How can any of you single moms and dads sit in judgment on Laura or even Tommy (OK, his blog sucks- it's just unreadable) when you in fact must have gone through some rough times, made bad decisions and ugly mistakes because here you are...single.
I used to love the show when they first came to town, but I could see they were into themselves when I would run into them at events. Everyone with a microphone has a pretty big ego or they wouldn't be where they are. Finally I had had enough. I outgrew the show I guess I did what we all can do- I changed the channel. Sure I listen occasionally when the other channels go to commercial, and sometimes when I'm bored I peruse their webpage, but in all honesty, I'd rather listen to my Ipod or NPR- you know NPR don't you?
Anyway, just like the Showgram, you guys aren't funny or entertaining anymore, so I am out of here!

OK, so LBM is complaining about money, yet takes her kids & Chip to the movies, to the Bodies exhibit & to the Wave. She buys herself tanning sessions, dance lessons, goes to Barnes & Noble to buy books, & has no rent to pay. The old Laura is back! Dave - be glad you filed when you did!
Another example of great parenting (from the diary) of Laura Cain: "She [Evan] said this as she was sitting on my lap with a bag of Gummi Bears." She doesn't need to eat a real dinner, or something with nutritional value. She's just a little girl. She should learn to indulge NOW!

Last night I met up with an old friend and in the middle of dinner she asked me, "Do you know who Tommy's new girlfriend is?" She told me it was a relative of hers ---Michelle.
My friend figured it out because I guess there was a kid named 'Zach' on the show Friday- I only caught a minute or two- and they used him in a bit singing opera. Only the child is Michelle's son and my friend called her relative after recognizing the child's voice and asked her if she was 'That Girl?" She confirmed it.
I've met Michelle a couple of times- real pretty blond, graduated from Santana High, many new body parts, in her 30's and she likes to date San Diego bigwigs, a bit of a star-you-know-what.
She first dated Michele Tuck after her divorce and I believe they were engaged until she met Junior Seau and dated him for a long while. And now it's Tommy-who she met walking Cowles Mountain

I just caught up on the posts since last night....why does Dilbert come and go and why must he address the same questions? Honestly he sounds like a robot, or how I imagine a robot would sound.....I guess he is just pulling a dilbert...
As for Empress J (maybe Jeff?): I really don't have sympathy for anyone in the public eye. They put themselves out there to be ridculed and judged for everything they do good or bad. And yes I feel in the case concerning Tommy and Laura's parenting skills and really all aspects of their lives they can be criticized because they aren't good parents and they have screwed up a lot. And Empress J, just because someone may be a single parent it doesn't necessairly mean its your fault that your single. Don't try to relate to people who have been in a divorce if you haven't been in one. There are always circumstances to every divorce. If Tommy and Laura weren't such screw up parents perhaps no one would have to comment on what a bad job they do. I would sit here and name how each of them are screw ups but we all know the bad choices they made.
Finally....I have a hard time believing that Tommys blog is the most read on all the Clear Channel Stations....could his ego be any larger? The San Diego demographic is one of the larger markets in the United States but I just can't imagine people nationwide are turning to his blog to see what stupid thoughts he has...I honestly think if enough people emailed Tommy and got negative feedback from him then they should contact the head of the station, if nothing changed take it to the clear channel headquarters. If anything Tommy's emails should be something like
"Yes Im a jerk but thanks for listening to me if it weren't for you I'd be broke"
Without listeners the showgram wouldnt even exsist. Just my two cents for the day!

I'm still having a hard time with Tommy's rudeness and what seems to be somewhat threatening replies to people who have negative things to say about his stupid blogs.
I sincerely hope these folks take some action and send his replies to station management or to the higher powers that be..

Still haven't heard back from anyone about the email I sent them. I suspect I will never get a response. I guess that shows how much we really mean to them. Someone mentioned hitting up the sponsors instead. Has anyone tried that yet?

Longtime, firstime
I had to join after reading (Un)EmpressJ's message. What a load! Obviously this is someone who has had mommy and daddy following them around and telling them "Why no dear, your poopoos do not smell".
This site is very funny and extremely clever. More thought goes into almost every post on this board than goes into the average hour of "entertainment" on the slow, I mean, showgram.

If it was scathing, and sent to Tommy, J&J, or anyone on the spewgram itself, you'll probably get no response - they'll just junk it (like they should do with most of their morning act). But they will make note of your IP and email address.

From Tommy's afternoon blog today:
You know what’s funny? You know how I’m the last person to admit OJ did it. OJ was my hero growing up and for the LONGEST TIME I never wanted to believe it.

Why do I read it? Why, oh why? Comments like these make me....ill (I'm showing great restraint at not using the puke smilie!):
Speaking of that, here’s a sneak peek to the future. The station may put up a webcam here at my place and for an hour or two every night to post on our website and it’s going to be called LIVE FROM TOMMY AND LAURA’S PLACE. Now, that would be funny. Would you watch?
My kids are doing well too. In the beginning of summer, I was really kind of nervous about Eddie and Vanessa growing up really fast and that, this summer was an important one for them, as they find out about things in life on their own and they needed some good examples of good clean living to follow themselves. I think I’ve done pretty good as I help a friend that needed a place to stay. I also workout regularly and see it and they know that’s important. I have also stopped drinking and stuff myself, so that’s a good thing AND coincidentally, THAT GIRL doesn’t party or anything either and that makes everything kind of COOL. So, hey, maybe we should just GO GET MARRIED NOW, okay, that was just a joke
I wonder what the "and stuff" means...???? And can you imagine actually *seeing* the train wreck that happens in Tommy's house??? Oy.

I agree, Le Creuset is the proper tool for the job. While some of the other nonstick brands would certainly be able to handle the oil, sticky stain, I do believe there is nothing quite like cast iron coated with a nice layer of porcelain (isn't that what is on Le Creuset?)that would still wash up nicely after "the incident" and offer an array of color choices as not to clash with the perpetrator's outfit.

I don't know about the rest of you on this board, but EmpressJ made some really good points that make me want to stop complaining about the J/J Boregram, to stop laughing with like-minded intellegent people about Little (aka FatArse) Tommy, about feeling that my own mistakes in mothering don't mean a thing compared to Cracky McCain's escapades, and for wondering if Jeff has any tips to share with me about preventing premenstral bloat.
I hereby resign from this board and will become an official member of the EmpressJ "We Love Jeff and Jer" society. Who wants to be the treasurer of the club? I was going to call Tracy from the old station because I hear he has some creative ways to make money, but if any of you want to run for office, let me know.

I've noticed in several discussions there are suggestions that Laura was blindsided by Dave with him filing for separation the day of or day before she came back from vacat...ah rehab.
As a sober woman, how can you notknow there isn't something going on? He went to visit her 1 time that we know of.
To say he flat out dumped her and I should actually feel like :bawl:, I really don't. I feel for HIM. (sorry, i've been good about the caps)
He did what he felt was in the best interest of his kids. Filing for legal separation BEFORE (sorry again) she got back, ensured he would have custody of his kids. I'm sure he made arrangements with Fathead to take her in. His first and foremost duty is to protect his kids. Why it didn't happen sooner?? WHo knows. Maybe her "high profile" lifestyle delayed it, but it did happen.
Ok, let me jump off my soapbox. My pom poms are getting dusty. I gotta go shake them off now. :bandit:

Did anyone consider that maybe Laura has no money is because she is back to using? Perhaps she is buying stuff. And that stuff isn't clothes, movie tickets, gummi vitamins, or dance lessons.
She wrote about going to a new hair stylist, but I didn't listen to see if there was any talk on the show about her hair.
I tried to capture a photo of her and Kree (Laura's spelling) from a diary entry in January 2007 (Jan 4 or Jan 6) found in the archived diary articles. I can't for the life of me insert an image. It is a photo of Laura and Kree outside the Lamplighter.

As for emailing the station about Tommy I think nothing would happen unless they recieved numerous complaints. I really dont think one person would make a difference but 10 might....still for as much money as they all make its not as if they will fire anyone before a contract expires....

We've all made assumptions about Dave Cain based mainly on lack of information....I mean, if we all figured out what she was doing just from what she had written in her diary, etc., how could he have not known?
I think the breakup was over more than just the drugs...when he was a pilot, it was a lot like being in the service with deployments...the routinne of being away from each other gives people ways of just not dealing with what is in front of him...and he sure as heck had to have known she was a party girl from waaaay back when they dated and married.
I'll toss in that he probably has found someone else, and figures he can have a sane, normal relationship now that he is a corporate kind of guy.

I have not said anything about Dave Cain because I have no info and I figured that until he writes a blog and tells us whats up I will leave him alone. All I know is that my husband and I liked to go out and have a good time (alcohol, not drugs) but when we hit our 30's decided we wanted to start a family. Of course that meant a decision to focus on the kids not on going out every night. Everytime I look at my babies faces I wouldn't trade them for a night out on the town for anything. I love and prefer being a mom to a party girl. If you want to be a party girl, then don't have children. If you want to be a good mom than forget about partying. You can't be both. Laura's $7.00 outfit of the week: she is clearly taunting people who say she looks preggars by the way she's standing.
In Tommy's Blog (which had WAY TOO MUCH FOCUS on him NOT WANTING to be with Laura) he used the term term "Dork" when referring to the action he believes everyone is wondering about. If someone used that term about me (esp. on the Most Read Blog in the Universe) I would be pissed. It's disrespectful to Laura and I am not a fan of hers. You mean that this is the only thing Rosa is worried about that would embarass her about Tommy? Clearly she does not know about his past and current behaviors.

First Off, Yeah Right! His own mother does not believe him why should we? I do not plan on overanalyzing this; however, two things come to mind:
One, anyone who has listened to this show can tell you that Tommy’s mind is constantly in the gutter.
Two, Laura is, at this time, vulnerable and living under his roof.
Conclusion, Laura has walked into the wolf’s den and the wolf is hungry.
As a guy myself, you cannot begin to tell me that if a woman, who’s relationship has just ended, and happens to be vulnerable, moves into a guy’s house who happens to be single and a horn dog, he would not pounce on her at some given point.
In his blog he says that the thought has not even crossed his mind, Oh C’mon Man!!!! What, do you think we are stupid or something? Oh yeah, I forgot, he does.
Then again, he is 100 and he still calls it “Dorking.”

That whole blog about Tommy's mother questioning him about Laura...he should just admit even if there is nothing going on between them he doesn't think of her sisterly...especially if he says sexual stuff about her then adds the just kidding....Almost half of what people say when they add the just kidding line at the end is truthful....
But my favorite part to that blog was how he couldn't wait to get home and write in his blog about the whole situation between him and his mom.....seriously he needs a life.
Laura's blog for the day isn't much better talking about her dance lesson and how her dance instructor is someone's husband from "So you think you can dance" wow, Im impressed I wonder how poor she is now due to these dance lessons?

Laura's Diary
I had my leg around his waist, my eyes fixed on his, my chest pressed up against his chest, my hands clamped onto his rib-cage, and my hips gyrated against his…and I loved every minute of it! It was sooo fun.
Ok, I'm pretty traditional so for me personally, I wouldn't behave this way (even in a dance class) with a man other than my husband. My husband wouldn't care at all, but I think it's kind of disrespectful. But, if my husband had filed for legal separation, likely because of my bad behaviors, and I was trying to prove to him that I could be a good wife and mother...I most certainly wouldn't be out ballroom dancing. Do any of the men here have anything to say about this? Wouldn't it scare a man off even more?
IMHO, she should be taking parenting classes (hopefully not from Jeff), begging (if need be) Dave to go to marriage counseling, never missing her meetings, and seeking the help of a psych doctor to figure out how to keep her life on track. Instead we have her gyrating against strange men, shopping, going to the races, getting her hair done, going tanning, letting her kids run wild...nothing different from a year ago...way to prove you're a changed woman Laura. From TBB (Tommy's Bogus Blog)
I'm not messing with Laura, NOR do I ever want to. Really, it would be like kissing a cousin or your own sister. Ain't gonna happen.
I wonder if he makes sexual comments to/about his sisters and cousins and then screams "JUST KIDDING!"

My goodness.......Laura's diary and describing her dancing lesson sounds like it's right out of a romance novel.
The only thing that she left out would be what the man and woman did next after the closeness of their dancing, eyes locked on each other, etc.

Wow Dilbert actually said something current....and semi-normal...
I can't wait for Tuesday's blog when she goes into detail about her dance class again...it is like a trashy novel...anyone else see Laura trying to break the marriage between the dancer and his wife? Seems like something she could do.

From what I've read and heard since the big rehab reveal and from info on this site, it does not seem surprising to me that FH has to convince his mother that he is not having carnal knowledge of his co-worker (first off - EEWWW).
From his early days, when he would ask women callers if they were single, he has shown himself to pretty much be a sexual predator. Laura is a convenient target for 13 stepping. She's gone through a bit of a reality check and her support system is gone. In swoops "kind-hearted" LTS who only wants to help. The dependent personality that Laura is (sniiifff) goes along, because at least someone is saying they like her.
And in related news, the bridge in Minneapolis was also rated as fine in 2005.

Hey, something just occurred to me.
J&J's contract is up in September.
Jer has made it clear that he has plenty of money and is just going through the motions.
Jeff, however, has 3 alimony checks to write, untold child support and an uncontrolled eBay habit. I also believe that Jeff used to mention being buds with Mark Larson.
Wouldn't it be interesting if in Sept, Jer says good-bye and Jeff says he's joining AM1700 to be with K-Praise brother Mark?
Just a thought.

If Tommy was a responsible parent then he would not write anything in his blog that he wouldn't want to see his 12 year old daugher and 10 year old son to see. I remember when I was 12and its a hard enough time to be a girl without you dad writing all his sexual thoughts down for the world to see. I'm sure it will be only a matter of time when Vanessa will start hearing, "Ew, your Dad is a perv!" from her peers.
I don't care how much money he makes its not worth looking like a womanizing idiot to the world.
Tommy thinks he can divert people's attention with Breaking and Entering Christmas and crap like that and people won't see how desperate he is for attention and all the ugly things he does to try and receive it. A few good deeds can't make up for a life time of screw ups and hurting people close to you. Tommy better watch out because his kids are about to enter the teens and that's the time they stop believing in fairy tales and start seeing the reality of things.
And Tommy, by the way, if you were so into helping people for the sole fact of helping people then you wouldn't have to keep publicizing every little good thing you do and patting yourself on the back for it. A person with true charity in their heart doesn't need anyone but their self to know that they made the world a better place.

Laura's Diary
Ok, I'm pretty traditional so for me personally, I wouldn't behave this way (even in a dance class) with a man other than my husband. My husband wouldn't care at all, but I think it's kind of disrespectful. But, if my husband had filed for legal separation, likely because of my bad behaviors, and I was trying to prove to him that I could be a good wife and mother...I most certainly wouldn't be out ballroom dancing. Do any of the men here have anything to say about this? Wouldn't it scare a man off even more?
Normally ballroom dancing isn't about being that close and having your legs wrapped around your partner. They must be doing a routine where she doesn't have to learn the dance, just the steps for the routine.
Besides, the cha cha isn't that type of dance. Maybe they are doing a rumba instead.

Honestly, I think Jer is going to retire, and Jeff is going to start broadcasting with child bride #3, Krusten. He does have the three brides and numerous children he has to feed and clothe. FH and Horseface will remain in their useless roles, making obscene amounts of money for the nothing that they do. Not sure Jeff and Krusten stay on Star, but they may move to a Christian station. Either way, won't listen - I have Jehovahs Witnesses coming to my house frequently trying to convert me - don't need to listen to a Christian station (12 years in a Catholic school uniform - I'm done).

This thread, his blogs, and his ego-laden and scary response to my sister's email, convinced me to not waste my time with them. It isn't even funny any more.
I agree with so many of you that Jer will retire. He didn't add anything to the show anyway. Good riddance.
And just how sad for Evan, Charlie, Eddie and Vanessa to have such dysfunctional adults in their lives. "Amused," hang in there -- you seem to be the only one with sense in that sad, sick scenario. I feel for you, but in my heart I know your influence and love will prevail.

I have been reading and decided I would share my own thoughts.
I agree with many others and see Jer finishing at the end of this contract.
While Jeff says he is very supportive, I think he is just trying to keep things status quo until the contract ends. He and Nina both do not want their kids around what Tommy and Laura are doing with their lives. I definitely see him joining 1700.
As for the rest of the morbid crew....their inflated salaries are a result of riding the Jeff and Jer wave. They will not continue to receive the outrageous salaries they have previously enjoyed. There is no way they will be able to negotiate large salaries in the current radio market. The grossgram used to have negotiating power in the SD market. They are all being paid for what they used to be, and that is about to end! Welcome to the real world.
Laura.....very, very sad. The world is not all about you.
Good for DaveCain for filing for seperation. He needs his assets, children, and emotions protected from Miss MeMeMe. Note to Jeff - He is the one taking the high road. She is not even on the path.
While I understand Jer is checked out mentally from the show - it seems to me that the Dilbert approach has Jer's signature all over it.
Just my humble opinion.

Golf Girl makes an interesting point that Dilbert could be Jer. Somehow I think that if Jer were lurking on the boards his posts would be a bit more volatile. Also, he may fancy himself as a writer, but I do not think he has the talent to come off that challenged. My bet is that Dilbert is someone else connected with the show.

Yes, it is time for Jer to go away and continue to act like he's better than everyone. He won't be missed.
Hey, you are right! Jeff is probably trying to get a gig for he and Kristen. But wrong about Nina....her moral compass broke and went another direction a few years back...she's into the party life too I hear and is the reason she and Jeff split. Her $2 mil condo on the beach and non-custody of the kids allow her to continue her own pursuits. (I thought it was common knowledge that she did not have the kids...if I am wrong, then I am sorry)
Thank god for davecain and Dannell (Amused) as they have got it together. Hopefully those two will make unannoucned visits to the Sablan frat house to make sure everything is safe for the kids. Do they all know how to swim, BTW?
And I thought Laura was a good pal of Randy-like bro & sis at the Whaley House. Is that kaput now? Also, remember Laura's first day back and the speech (the only time I have listened in the past three years) and she kept mentioning God? Does she still talk about GOd? Or just her hair, clothes, fun activities, etc. I have a question, "Laura, what is your motivation for the dance lessons?" Seems odd to be doing at this point, but maybe I am wrong and the rehab experts think it's a good thing to be doing.

I'd have to imagine that both Jeff and Jer (the people, not the show) are mortified that they have turned into a reality trainwreck and glorification of sex, drugs and has-been rock and rollers and a dating service (!) for Sablan aka FH.
I think Jeff and Nina have a shared parenting, but it does seem like they are with Jeff most of the time. I wonder if Nina still has those ratty dogs with her? I remember stories of all the dogs in the bed, many dog accidents on new floors, etc. when they lived over in Del Mar Heights ish area by the elementary school.

I'm with you on that one. I think the money won't talk and both of them will walk to new lives. Jer can stay in La Jolla refining his elitism and Jer can go be happy with his new wife and praise the lord.
Honestly, I actually want them to be happy. I think they provided us with good talent for a lot of years. I have to admit that I like Jeff. I know there he's on his third marriage but it seems to me that he really does have the best intentions but things have gone wrong. Okay, that being said, let me tell you another story. I had a friend who had been a listener forever and completely loved the Showgram. They could do no wrong. She thought Tommy was a great person and would send him emails about how great he was for doing Breaking and Entering, etc. Well, one day probably about 4 years ago they were doing a bit about the negative WT things you can find at every Wal-Mart you know like a used diaper in the parking lot, etc. Tommy offered the fact that you can always find a big black guy with a white blonde woman. Well, my friend, who is in interracial marriage, couldn't believe he said that with the implication that there was something wrong or trashy about two people of different races being together. And the ironic thing was this was just a couple weeks after the Martin Luther King holiday. Well, she wrote Tommy and said she was offended and couldn't beleive how racist he was. Of course, she did not get a pleasant response back. She has refused to listen to the showgram since.
Since Tommy controls all the email, phones, etc. I wonder if Jeff and Jer really know how their listeners are treated?

I feel hung-over today, but I'm not. I think I am hung-over by osmosis. Everyone else in this studio is a bit "sleepy," except for Tommy because he didn't drink either. But, I felt really sick last night after our big show dinner date. Obviously, it had nothing to do with booze. It wasn't because of the food because everything was great. I'm pretty sure it was Tommy's driving. Holy cow. He took Michelle as his date, and I didn't have a date, so I tagged along with the two of them. ------------
Two observations:
1. How does one feel "hungover" when they haven't had anything to drink? I don't think i've experienced that..hmmmmm
2. Well, at least she says "holy cow", and not "holy balls". Tommy hasn't completely rubbed off on her yet

Well, the Jeff and Jer Showgram has entertained and informed many people for many years now. There's more to a morning radio program than just news headlines and traffic reports. That's where the ensemble cast really shines. Just about everyone listening has found something to laugh about, talk about, and sometimes even cry about on the Showgram. If it touches your heart and soul, then the Showgram has done the job of reaching out to listeners. There are a lot of choices on the San Diego radio dial, and there's a reason why so many listeners followed Jeff and Jer from Jack 100.7 to the new Star 94.1 and have stayed with them. The Arbitrons tell the story there. I think the Arbitron ratings are out there on the internet.

Uhm Dilbert the cast does not shine at all...what are you talking about? At one time they were great but to say someone on that show still shines....I doubt it.
As for the arbitron ratings they only rate the stations not the shows on a station. Star 94.1 may be number one in San Diego but its a station as a whole...not Jeff and Jer...

i also don't think you can find the arbitron ratings online..I only know as much about the arbitron ratings from taking a broadcast of history class last semester...Anyways if they are online I think you may have to pay to see them, or buy this book that comes out I think its every other year. Its actually a interesting book you can look at all the ratings for any market in the country and see how arbitron rates them...ok Im a nerd for knowing all that but I just wanted to clear that up...for anyone who cares.

I wonder if Jeff and Jer really know how their listeners are treated?[/QUOTE]

So glad Tommy brought that girl to the dinner last night. Maybe it's me, but I don't introduce anyone I am dating (back when I was single I did this) to a group (or my kids) unless I know they will be around a while.
But no, he needed a date...and I am sure she wore a low cut top so Jer could oogle and Tommy could know he had Jer's approval on her rack "bought off the rack"

Laura's diary says that her dress was too tight. I wonder if Laura is still trying to lose weight, and I wonder if that dress was new, or from the days of the old slimmer Laura?
Other people said Delayna and Laura didn't get along, but Laura's diary states that she might have an overnight at Delayna's. So do they like each other? Or did some people just "stir the pot" with talk about having a catfight with the girls on the Showgram?

You never know what happens between people. That includes what happened with Laura and Dave, and also includes whatever privately happens between Laura and Tommy.
Here's the deal : Little Tommy has repeatedly joked about him and Laura together, then says JUST KIDDING about these crude suggestions. If you are making a joke about something, it means you have thought about it. So for Tommy to say that he has never thought about Laura and him together is not believable. He has thought about it because he tries to shock everybody with crude comments, then says JUST KIDDING.
And what about Laura living at Tommy's for so long? Why is she apparently happy to just keep living there? I think she's happy to be there at Tommy's. And he's happy to have her living there. In that type of situation, with them spending so much time alone together, a spark could ignite things.
Tommy seems to have certain foreful attitudes towards females. So somebody like him, with no morals or values, could easily find himself entangled in something he didn't necessarily expect. Same is true of Laura, as she's unattached and, for all we know, is lonely.

You can't be Jerry, because the show is off the air now, and he's probably 1/2 way through a case of Sam Addams by now. Can't be Jeff, he's probably at a church revival somewhere. Can't be Randy, because he's probably out getting a brazilian wax (don't tell me he's not a chick). Laura - she's asleep by now. Maybe you're Tommy - whatever. We're onto you.
And, ALWAYS with the questions.....you've obviously been sent here from your planet to stir up **** and get us talking.

I used to volunteer at Helen Woodward. They do use high profile adoptions to create traffic - the other animals there benefit from more people stopping by which equals more adoptions. Win Win.
By itself, the puppy reunion was over the top. What is over the top is how Mr. Hippocrite spends more time and effort on his and Krusten's "baby" than he does on his sundry other children from past marriages.

Who was asking why Laura needs ballroom lessons? I've been going through the posts and noticed no one has answered this yet, but she's doing it to raise money for Mary Murphy's new dance studio, or something like that. It's San Diego's very own (and very lame) version of Dancing With The Stars. I don't recall who else is in it, that's how lame it is! Why Mary Murphy would need to raise funds for another studio is beyond me! She's a guest judge on a wildly popular show this summer, and she counts Louis Van Amstel as one of her instructors; you'd think their popularity is enough to bring in the money...
So no, I'm pretty sure Laura's not paying a dime for these lessons. Just wanted to clarify that.

I’m not going to mention was what said between the show in this very private and special time together, but I would like to say this: Our show is probably at it’s best right now ALL AROUUND. Personally and professionally we are all IN TUNE with what we want to do. There are 8 of us. Jeff, Jerry, ME, Laura, Randy, Delana, Pacey, and Emily. I strongly believe that this current formation will go all the way to the very end of the run, which is in several years.

"As I recall, after the obligatory time when the team introduced their latest partners to each other.....
Tommy: "Hey everybody,this is Michelle."
Jeff: "This is wife number 3 of 6, Kristen."
Jerry:"This is Pam...check out her breasts."
Randy: "This is Debbie...I really love her alot and we have sex."
Tommy: "Hey everybody, this is Laura and we are NOT dorking."
Laura: "Do they have non-alcoholic drinks that have alcohol?"
Delana: "Why am I still working here. I'm straight, sober, not married and have no criminal nor civil records."
Rick Moorten: "How the F**k did I get transferred to afternoon drive time and this alcoholic, meth-using, bloated, 'wanna-be' gets to return and take my morning slot?"
Jerry: "Karl Strauss is dead...let's drink a keg in his honor."
Jeff: "We don't drink in my home. We play board games and watch as our children become over-indulged, 'onward christian soldiers.'"
Jerry: "Hey Randy, How about a tune on the organ?"
Laura: "I played tunes on an organ in rehab....maybe that's why Davecain is so mad."
Jeff: "Tonight's dinner is to celebrate the big sensation we've all become in this sleepy little town of 3 million people."
Tommy: "I can't believe I'm a big fat star after my childhood without a dad, eating hot-dogs and rice."
Randy: "We had Hot-dogs and rice last nite as we ate in silence at my parent's dining room table from 6:30 to 6:37.":
Laura: "I wish I could afford hot dogs and rice, but I've got to pay for my dance-lessons at the tanning salon-while I get my hair extensions re-weaved package I signed up for. Only $536 a month!!"
Tommy: "I'll give you the money Laura cause I'm so proud of you! You've over-come so much. You had a good husband, a good job, two nice kids and a family that loves you and it was all stripped away by drugs and alcohol....I've had family members destroyed by the same random, unexpected illness as yours. You deserve so much more...come live with me"
Randy: "Can Debbie and I live with you?"
Michelle: "Hey! I didn't dump Michael Tuck to hang with a bloated producer and his hanger-ons. No one lives in that house but me and the bloated, self-absorbed, drug and alcohol skank!"
Jeff: "Maybe you should all move to San Elijo Hills? It's family living at its finest. My two other families both live there."
Jerry: "Waiter, hey numb-nuts...there's a piece of cheese on the table! How the f**k am I supposed to maintain my 43 lbs. over-weight, vegetarian physique, if I have to look at cheese? Now bring me another keg, you worthless, poor, not-living-in-La-Jolla-piece-of-dung!"
Jeff: "Can we hurry this up? I have an on-line canasta game to play while my family cleans up dog-sh*t from our free fake-grass backyard."
Tommy: "Sure. I am BEGGING...can anyone take Laura?!?!"
Laura: "Are we almost done? I want to go to Marshall's and shop. Then I have to go to See's candies and get my kids dinner."

:fro: There is really no reason for this icon except that I like it. And I'm using it to tell Wonkatania that I love the hilarious pictures. Keep them coming.
School starts in two weeks so I won't have to worry about accidently happening upon the spewgram while driving. But it's great to know that I can catch up on the Best of the Spewgram on this board. I'm counting on all of you to keep me up-to-date on the best of the worst.

Isn't Delana gay? Trying not to pull a Dilbert...

I assumed she was gay the way they would randomly bring up "LIPS" which is a well known lesbian bar. And did anyone hear their bit yesterday where JERk had "the line of the day?"
When they were trying it on Delana, Tommy said "How often do you come here to Lips?" something like that. And when she supposedly wasn't in studio, JERk and Lardass made a remark about her being in another room because she farted. Anyway, Jerk and Lardass laughed thru the bit but it was a mean laugh. I don't think Lardass likes Delana because she got such a good response to being on the show.
And wow, she actually KNOWS what she is doing! What a concept!!

That is all.

I met Delana not too long ago and she was an absolute sweetheart! She was promoting the station at a mall and she was packing up to go home. I introduced myself and she warmly shook my hand and we talked a bit. Before I left, she offered me movie tickets and other freebies. She was very sincere and a true pro.

She just seems real and untainted. So far...Let's hope she doesn't get full of herself like the showgram. I think she has their number.

Is Laura purposely making herself sound like a lazy, bad mother? I don't get it. I wanted to give her a pass because I think it is really admirable that she got herself clean but who needs a frickin nap after a four hour work day. Please! Shouldn't she be worried about what she is writing in her diary, couldn't that be used against her in a custody battle? Oh, and she has a job, a good cushy job, why can't she afford her own place to live. UGH.

Hey LisaP -
Your link trumps mine! I was looking for pics of people from the showgram...didn't see "Jeriatric" or any of the other losers. I would expect Jeriatric to be there, aren't they like blood brothers or something? Looks like there was champagne, so Laura would have been fine. Every wedding has a single chick or two, so Tommy could have hooked up with someone...even in the Bible Belt!

You know, for a while I had hoped Laura could get it together and get back with Dave and the family could be a foursome together again (5 with Chips). I think davecain is a pretty good guy (and I've seen nothing that shows me otherwise. When he married Laura a zillion years ago she was not like she is now...tho there may have been signs I am sure). But ya know, Laura as a single woman and dating would be shear chaos...and that would be something else to see in her blog. I mean, it would be more jaw dropping and disorderly than her life is now.
Hey, remember when she read the returnfromrehab letter on the air (the only time I have listened all year) and talked about God? Where did God go in all of this? She never says his name anymore and I don't know why she did in the first place. Phony. For that matter, where did her mom go...no mention of her lately either. (Unless I missed it)

I think Jer went to Italy at this time (very "convenient"). Seriously, do you think Jer would go to the backwoods to spend his vacation? Besides, he'd already been to two of Jeff's weddings, I guess he figured he'd done his time. I'm sure he'll make time for Jeff's next wedding.
Those photos - they go by so fast, it made me dizzy. One time through, and I'd seen enough. It looks like a low-rent wedding - looks like they got the cake at Vons. Wonder if they got the food from Costco.
Krusten is a dead-ringer for Rachael Ray - if Rachael was from the backwoods, they could be sisters. But, she's not.

Thanks for posting what I would have. I remember that all of them went back to Wooster for Jeff's Five-OH. The wedding was not all that long after. Jer's Passport must have some regulation on it that he must fly one internation segment between each domestic segment.
SDtoOC - I too tried to look at pics. But they went by too quick. And honestly, I kept focusing on Jeff's "teeth" EWWWWWW. I know why he went to Vegas for them. No San Diego dentist in his right mind would want to be remotely related to that work.

She looks older than me and I'm in my 40's. Her eyes have very heavy wrinkles for someone in their 30's. (I presume that is her age) She needs Dr. Bucko. And soon. And I agree...she doesn't look like Rachel Ray at all!

I totally understand the gross-out factor with regard to Jeff's new teeth! WTF!? I always remember him referring to his "original" teeth as "Chiclet" teeth. So, what does that make those things? My grandpa had better false teeth than those!
The original link that I tried to post earlier was a one-pager which seemed eerily similar to a commercial/advertisement for this particular photographer. I'll try and post it again here. Read what I assume is a "testimonial" from the third Mrs. Detrow about the photographer's work. I still can't get over the pic of her lying in a field! So corny!

http://www.sandiego-online.com/media/San-Diego-Magazine/February-2007/Jeff-and-Jer/
Jerry's comments are supposed to sound sarcastic, but sounds like truth
.
"TB: So, 35 years later, when do you guys think you’re going to get tired of getting up at 5 in the morning to get to work at 6?
JER: Oh, that happened about 14 years ago."
"JER: I always tell kids that money is not the key to happiness. But if you have enough money, you can get a key made."
"TB: Have you ever felt any animosity from other station employees who might feel there’s less money and fewer resources available to them because you got so much?
JER: Not that I know of, because we’re usually out of the station by 9 a.m. And I don’t really know more than three people who work here."
And who knew Jerry's start was in religious radio?
"JER: I started at the University of Maryland radio station. But my first commercial job was in 1971, running The Best of God in Washington, D.C., on Sunday mornings."
