Trixie - you read my mind. I was going to do this after the boy was in bed tonight, but you beat me to it.

Also, regarding trying to pick a 3-Day team to support - I don't know how we can pick one person/team over another...maybe someone could figure out a way to just tally our donations to the 3-Day, regardless of who we donated to - as long as it WASN'T XXXL!

If the Club does focus on one person/team, definitely count me in for a donation! Just point me in the direction and my credit card will do the rest....

I think you may be right. Sooooooooooo.... if you donate to ANY 3 day team, other than SirTubsAlot... we'll count it. The way to tally would be to send a PM to one main person who can keep a running total... I'd be happy to be that person, but I know that I'm a newbie and y'all don't know me yet :) Or we can just post it here...but I want this to be a very positive thing and when $$ gets involved, it can start to get very...well... TUBBYLIKE! We don't need to brag or show off to each other. So...any suggestions?

I think I need to sort out the #1. For some reason I have SDGirl87 (I'll have to chase posts), but then it looks like it should be Texas Mommy.

No one take 68, and if I can't verify SD Girl87 as #1, I'll make a decision and create someone in the 68 slot. No one take 68 at this time, okay?

SDGirl87 started this whole fiasco - see post #9760, it's at the very bottom where she says "I'm 1"

Hope that helps!

How can I not post while the posts are in the 999s? (upside down 666s).

So, I guess I'd better pony up something interesting to say. Let's see.

* I'm the same age as Tommy.

* I love Tommy. Yah, LOVE him. Not just "love" like you love your parents, spouse, or children. No, I love him as much as I loved the Big Wheel and Hippity Hop (that I always wanted and never got!), and my Ditto jeans (yah, I was able to break the parents on that one). That means "A LOT!" in case you're not pickin' up what I'm layin' down.

* Jerry? (Or, Jer, as I'm allowed to call him) is to San Diego what Amazing is to Grace.

* Jef? The funniest thing I ever heard him say was that he accidentally pee'd in his underwear (because he was sitting on the toilet) at someplace like Marie Callendars, so he took off his red underwear and threw them in their garbage can. He is to religion what Richard Simmons is to fitness. I think even "God" would probably agree that he cheapens the whole concept just a little.

* Laura. Hmm...the only thing that comes to mind is the song from "Days of Our Lives" - "When you...think of Laura, laugh don't cry, I know she'd want it that way." Relevance: 0 But, Wonk...Wonk, YOU are the master. Excellent on the re-dress of Laura. I'm going to cave here and say, "I liked the outfit." And, DAMN! it makes me mad that someone can wear an outfit like that and not look 2.5' tall. I'm 5'6" and I'm pretty sure it would make me look pretty stumpy. Is she tall or something? Grrr...

Hmm...I guess I didn't have anything interesting to say after all. I was just falling in love with the appearance of my own words.

Oh yah, about Tommy (is that even an adult name???) and Jer (who looks like a perverted old woman)...my number is 66 so that means I can spewgram any random 'ole bologna (I had to sing the little song to spell that word by the way) I want just for entertainment value. I took creative liberties.

Yikes. I just remembered someone who might have gone to school with Tommy in CV. I'll have to conduct an informal interview. From the sounds of it, I'm POSITIVE this person would have the real "411" (aren't I cool?) on his family. Oh what have I sunk to? I will either get a life, or I will report back exactly what I find out.

Did anyone else hear when LBM was talking about GTM and her cheap jeans. Delana made a comment that she loves GTM but felt like she always risks her life while going there. Then Jeff said that he would have to take Krusten there to GTM, but that they had a very full schedule with several meetings/responsibilities with the adoption program and all.

For the LOVE OF GOD
Please Please Please tell me- that the adoption he is referring to is for a four legged sibling at Helen Woodward (I know how stringent their adoption program is). He is a Grand Father! Who does he think he is??? Hef and Holly?? Ugghh!
How absolutely selfish and self serving if they are going to be adopting a baby. He already has 5 children- Holy Cow- I am starting to think that he is mormon, but doing it the legal way "one wife at a time". I think it's really sad that they don't think their relationship is strong/solid enough without "cementing" it with a child "of their own". He has done that the last two marriages and look how fabulous they have worked out.
To Krusten you are 30+ you have no child for a reason, because Jeff you already have enough to go around (+ grandkids) for everyone in your life to love. Just because you can afford it doesn't make it right.

I'm going through a divorce currently and originally started the proceeding with a legal separation. Although I didn't know it at the time, when I had my "soon-to-be-ex" move out, there is a 90 day law on the books that has something to do with "once the other spouse has remained away from the residence over 90 days, they cannot return if the other spouse does not want them residing there"

Since DC filed the legal separation in late June, and since she had already been away for atleast the 90 days, he has every legal right not to allow her to return to the house and reside.

Thanks, Transplant, I had no idea. Here all this time I thought it had to do with how title was held on the property. So, possession really is 9/10ths of the law? Or 90 days of the law.

Here's what it said:

Hi OneKidOneDogMom:

Congratulations on becoming an ensign.

There is no timeframe graduating from Plebe to Ensign. Rather one must somehow post outside the regional subform (where posts do not add to post total).

cheers,

So funny that we get an answer to this question on the same day the subject came up!

I guess in order to gain more "status" in the "G|A" world you have to venture out of the Drama Club thread and post elsewhere!

I'm actually quoting MYself (that makes me even a bigger :censored: deal, doesn't it?)

I figured it out. If she has big feet (ahem, like myself), then we know the secret that 5'6" with size 8 feet makes you about 5'8"+ with heels (and maybe a little subtle tip-toe if you're on the hot guy hunt--like I can even remember what that's like anymore).

Ok, I've been a total dork for the night. I vote that tomorrow = "yes means no and no means yes" day. Whatever you say is exactly the opposite of what you mean. That ought to be fun!

Hi all -
Another long-time lurker and first time poster. I had to let you know there is yet another one of us who started listening to J&J when I moved to San Diego in 1989 and really enjoyed them. Have been more and more disappointed in the past couple of years but this year has been the worst! It is embarassing how bad they are. I had some hope of a bright light when Delana joined the group but then LBM came back and dimmed it immediately.

I agree with all the opinions listed about LBM & FH. And I LOVE Amused - big kudos to her!! And Rick Morten was the best guy J&J ever had.

On another note, I am a 2-1/2 year breast cancer survivor and am walking in the Strides for San Diego walk this Sunday. This is a separate walk from the Komen 3-day as this one is sponsored by the American Cancer Society for which I volunteer. I will try to attach the link to my page for donations here or on next post.

Thank you all for letting me join the party!!

Am I #76??

Hey, how come my signature didn't show up last time? There was a signature viewing modification installed which by default (the lite setting) shows a members signature only for their first post on a thread's page. The signature viewing setting can be changed in your Control Panel options (http://www.gotapex.com/profile.php?do=editoptions) under Thread Display Options. Full means every time a person posts their signature will show.

Those are the same boots from Sep 27th when she had to have her knees airbrushed. She is recycling items for the outfits LOL. She must not have enough time in her busy day to do quality shopping anymore.

HA HA! No, no time anymore. She's too busy driving around aimlessly because she farted at the chiropractor's office. :toxic:

(snip of interesting observations) Who does that leave? Randy? I haven't even heard his voice in a hundred years (I guess it would help if I actually listened any more, though, right?)

Randy laughs and plays the organ... that's his job description, right? Now that he's given up Danger Boy.

Its sad Laura doesn't have support to get her through her addiction, and divorce. I mean if Tommy is her support system well I guess its someone but he def. would be the last person I'd want to help get me through a major crisis in my life.

True, but HB-FH and LBM, they're so perfectly matched in superficiality...

It has been agreed upon by the majority of us (though not all) that it appears that her head may be photoshopped on. We drew this conclusion from looking at the color of her skin on the face versus the arms/neck, and the fact that she looks quite a bit thinner in this photo than in other recent pictures. (snip of amazing summary job)

Not to mention, she looks thinner (especially in the facial area) than she did in the video that was done just a few days ago at HB-FH's mom's house. I dunno, but when I enlarged the photo in an editing program, there appears to be some disturbances in the pixels around her arms and thighs. Not much around the chin or neck, though. Strange. Or maybe it's just a really good angle?? You can lose a few pounds when you get a good camera angle. Or maybe she bought a magical camera at the same store HB-FH got his magical scale.

(snip of interesting reading) I'm going to cave here and say, "I liked the outfit." And, DAMN! it makes me mad that someone can wear an outfit like that and not look 2.5' tall. I'm 5'6" and I'm pretty sure it would make me look pretty stumpy. Is she tall or something? Grrr... (more snips)

I saw her in 2004, she passed by me when I was talking to Jer & Pam at one of the showings of Nickels & Dimes. She was dressed casually in khaki pants and some sort of t-shirt with flat heeled shoes. Her hair was pulled back in a ponytail. She waved at Jerry when she walked quickly past, but didn't smile. By her body language, I got the feeling that she really didn't want to be there.

I'm 5'11" and she was a good bit shorter than I am. I remember being surprised because she seemed so petite compared to how tall I thought she was from having seen her pictures on the website. That's where I came up with the approximate height of 5'6".

Oh, I LOVE that idea. That is hilarious. Diljackass has got to be officially 86. And if we ever get up to 250, we have to give that to XXXL HB FH since that is his real weight (on a thin day).

This has been such a fun day; I'd have never guessed we had so many people.

Oh, one more thing. You know that Boris won't claim a number, so I say we give him 85 for obvious reasons. Where's Jake? Come on Jake, it's census time.

By the way, I am now hooked on DSC 101.5. Does anyone know the name of the comedian who they frequently play tapes of? He is hilarious.

Which one? Someone else mentioned Jim Gaffigan, but it could be any of a number of others, too. You'll have to describe which one they are playing, because they play quite a few.

They might be playing some Frank Caliendo this week. He's got a show here in town on Friday night.

Oops, sorry Jake. I jumped on with a reply before I finished reading. Anyway, your number should be pi -- no, that's not erudite enough for our resident sage. You should get three numbers so that you are a Pythagorean Triple. But 78 is a good solid number, so I approve.

And hey, I might be an immigrant, but I came on a green card (from the green isle!)

I just love those comedy bits DSC do, they've been doing them for years and they pick the funniest stuff. The only thing I don't care for is Lash Wednesday's, but otherwise I think they are fresh and witty. They all seem very real, even the Ruth 66's voice in the head.

Pi is good....The symbol for pi was first used in 1737 by William Jones, but was popular after it was adopted by the Swiss mathematician Leonhard Euler in 1737. We often hear of the the rational approximation to pi of 22/7, but another interesting approximation is given by 355/113. It is accurate to 6 decimal places and can be easily remembered by taking the sequence 113355, splitting it in half and putting the first part in the denominator and the second part in the numerator......

Good God!!!!! Look what you people are doing to me.....FOR THE LOVE OF GOD....PLEASE STOP!!!!!

Jammie & Jake,

I'm standing at my laptop (long story, don't ask) laughing my fool head off - trying to NOT wake up the kid that finally just went to sleep in the bedroom on the other side of the wall that's 2 feet in front of me....

You guys are hilarious!

Today has been the *best* day here - we've all banded together and seen just how many of us there are...a LOT!

Oh, I'm also doing the Making Strides Walk this weekend - maybe GoGoGirl and I will have to meet up! I'm also making my decision by December 1st as to whether I will walk the 3-Day in 2008 (raising the money scares me, but as a single parent the childcare issue is a bigger stumbling block...I have to make sure I have childcare covered not only for the actual 3-Day but for the long training walks that are part of it - you know, those long training walks that XXXL never seems to be able to participate in....he'd rather stroll the shopping mall, you know!)

I love you guys!!!

I wonder if he doesn't raise the money in time if he will contribute the rest out of his pocket? My guess is no...
-----------------------------------------------------------
Exactly. That will be his way out. Either that or pulling a hamstring eating a hamburger..hee

I was wondering about that. If he does not reach his fundraising goal, then he cannot participate, right? :umm:

Interesting.

Will Channel 8 or Clear Channel cover the balance for him? Consider all the advertising with him as a participant. Hmm...

I'm no expert on the 3-Day, but from what I understand you make a commitment to raise the $2200 per person (along with a non-refundable $90 entry fee). If you do not raise the $2200 by the 1st day of the walk, they will arrange for you to personally pay the difference in 4 equal installments over the next 4 months OR YOU CANNOT PARTICIPATE IN THE WALK. You also must have your own medical insurance in effect to be able to participate.

Whether Clear Channel or the Star station would pony up for the difference is probably up to their agreement with XXXL when he decided to walk.

It really fries me that he has done so little for the fundraising part - he declares himself a "big deal" and with less than a month left still hasn't even raised the base amount to walk. He should be capable of raising 10 TIMES that amount just by hitting up all the other "big deals" that he knows in the radio biz....

His walking is such a publicity stunt. Oy.

I think that makes me 83. I am SOOOO addicted to this site and spend each night before bed reading everyone's witty comments. You guys are great entertainment! I was also a life-long J&J listener. Then, one day my teenage son and I felt like it took ALL of them too long to tell every single story. I didn't know if it was just my imagination or not...but ever since they moved over to 94.1, it hasn't been the same. They lost their enthusiasm, and my attention span doesn't last as long as their "bits." So, now I listen to AJs playhouse. I did love Rick and emailed Tommy to tell him how bummed I was about them taking him off, and he sent me a rude email (must have been jealous of Rick). Wish I would have saved it to share. Found everyone when googling about Laura and rehab. Have a good night!

My favorite # would be 78, the year I moved to SD, but that belongs to Jake, and I would never be able to fill his shoes! BTW, I e-mailed FH over a month ago about the 3Day, and how he should use his "fame" to collect all the money he could for this great cause. He replied that he already had collected $10,000. So, where is it???? I was so disgusted with him that I finally deleted his response. Anyway, like so many other lurkers (I only posted once), I found this thread by accident looking for Freeloader codes. Thanks for the great entertainment.

My guess is no...and if for some reason he does donate any money he will mention it left and right like its some sort of huge accomplishment. I'm up for donating to the cause. My mom usually does the walk but she isn't this year so I have a little money I can donate. I think it'd be great if we could email him a in your face email about how much we donated.

I WISH I still had one email from Tummy that said that he had already donated $10,000 of his OWN money to the Three Day. When I questioned why his website didn't reflect that, he said he donated the money to other walkers.

Ok, we could probably search the internet with the title: Lying creepy radio self-important celebrities who aggrandize themselves by saying they are supporting a 3-day walk to support Breast Cancer...and find the answer since he doesn't do anything original...but I don't mind casting out my guess here...

He will at the last minute miraculously come up with XX dollars, and it will be a tear-flowing moment...; or--Moochie (if she hasn't bolted by now) will reveal that SHE has called in all sorts of favors...(After all, she WAS best friends, no, constant high school companions, with the football team, the ENTIRE football team, as Cher's Laverne character used to say...) and will miraculously come up with the funds; or some slimy suit from ClearChannel will make an appearance and make the corporate donation they were planning to make as a swap out for the Tommy-puffing publicity with that now-disgraced Barbara Lee Edwards.

Hey, I am a little worried for you folks using real names here as far as your participation. Nothing like setting off a small-minded, prone-to-stalking passive aggressive guy with a Napoleon complex...and I really mean a NAPOLEON complex if you get my drift...

Good morning DC! I am reposting my friend's letter for the 3Day.
Here is my friend's letter she sent out for the 3Day walk. She hasn't gotten her sign on for this board yet, so I am posting for her. We've both been reading this board since LC went MIA. She would love for you to support The 3 Day. If anyone donates make sure you put DCM and then we can keep track.

Hello Everybody,
Yup, It's true, I'm participating in the Breast Cancer 3-Day again. For those of you who don't know what that is, it's a commitment to walk 60 miles over the course of 3 days with thousands of other men and women.
The walk is on the 2nd weekend of November here in San Diego.
Breast Cancer has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. My grandmother on my mother's side battled it and won. And back in 1991, my mother Carolyn, found a lump. 3 surgeries, alot of radiation, 7 blood transfusions, and 3 different chemo sessions later, my mom is a Cancer Survivor. She battled with it for 4 years. In those 4 years, the cancer spread to her lymph nodes and even her lung. But thanks to the Lord above and some terrific doctors here in San Diego, My mom is alive today.
These women are the main reason why I am taking this journey. I love them very much and thank God they have fought to beat this disease. It's the least I can do for all that they had to go through.

Please help me out with whatever you feel is right for you. Keep in mind how hard I will be training for this between now and November.

Thank-you in advance,

Cathy

I totally agree, he will probably do Iron Mountain and fall down and have to be airlifted to the hospital, he is always saying he shouldn't do Iron Mountain because that is were he is most likely to suffer an injury.

Or maybe if he really does the Oceanside event this weekend he will hurt himself somehow. It will be interesting to see what he comes up with.

I read this and thought it was interesting on Delana's fluke of doing a story on the tryouts and actually being selected. (sorry it's long)

Wow! What an experience. The experience of a lifetime. Something I did as a fluke turned into the quest of 2007.

Back in August, I was encouraged and asked to go on an assignment that would be a feature of San Diegans who wanted to try out to be on "Who Wants the Be A Millionaire." The tryouts were being held at a local casino here in town, Sycuan. I had no idea what to expect. When I arrived, there were at least 800 people trying out to be on the show.

So, as I talked to people about why they were there, had them tell me their stories, we stood in line and waited. Auditions were to be held all day long, and I had been up since 4am. About 2pm I didn't think I would make it, too tired and too cranky. The way this works: 200 people at a time would be called into an auditorium to take a test after filling out a questionnaire about who you are, and what you are like. The questions were things like; tell us a funny story about yourself, your likes and dislikes, why you are auditioning, what you would do with a Million bucks? Etc....etc. Finally they called my group into the auditorium.

When my section of the group was called in, we were presented with a test and given the rules. 40 questions, 10 minutes, various topics. Time was called, tests were graded, and rules were read. Numbers were ready to be called. 2, 38, 120, 214, a few more and then mine. 63. Our small group was asked to join producers who were backstage at Sycuan. We waited, and waited, while polaroid pictures were taken and more paperwork on our personalities was filled out. Then they called me again. I interviewed, we talked about politics, Meredith, my job and everything else you can imagine. I was told I would be contacted by postcard and phone call in the next two years. The card came in about three weeks. The phone call a week later, while I was on the air. I was interviewed and deemed eligible by Jeffrey who had a million questions for me while I was trying to do a morning show. The date was set, and I would be on Millionaire taping October 16th. A fluke....

Then came the paperwork, the questions, the background check, the gathering of the smartest people I know in the world for my lifelines. Rusty, Shari, Mark W., Pierette, Uncle Keith, Eric and Alma, Joanne, Louis, Stacy Taylor ...how can I ever say thank you. Karen thank you for letting Mary and I stay with you in NYC! To Steph and David, and April. Jeff, Jer, Tommy, Laura, Randy, Em, Pacey...the support on the air, the e-mails from so many people listening to the show. If I missed anyone who quizzed me, or said good luck, thank you. The time and the trouble, and the calls. Oh my God! Thank you.

New York City. Fall ...what beautiful place. October 16th.

Millionaire studios, on the upper west side, almost half a block. We were asked to report at 7AM at 24 West 67th. We went in, got stripped of reading materials, phones, everything actually except makeup and clothes. Met our personal producers, went over our stories, and then we were fed and followed, even to the bathroom. We were put in a room to watch Millionaire winners for an hour. Then an hour of legal, an hour of promotional duties (taping our promo, signing a release to papers, etc. Then another hour of strategy with the executive producer. He coached us to be the most enthusiastic as possible. He was specific about how the show was not going to trick you with the first five questions. But, how at about 8 thousand and above, they were. With lights, a vibrating stage, keeping you in the dark on when you would be on, it was psychological mayhem. Taping to begin at 12PM. Audience was in, audience is prepped. We practice getting into our chairs. Meredith is an hour late. I'm one of the first to be called and brought downstairs. I'm one of the last to get on, it's 5PM, and I've watch several people win, and several people leave with not a lot.

My favorite contestant, and now friend, was the contestant before me, George, from Kansas. George showed up that first morning with overalls and a flannel shirt. He was a nuclear power plant operator. As "down home" as you can get. He's brilliant. And, right before me. George had one of the hardest questions I'd ever seen. I bought him a beer after he played, and the ladies at the library are all about him back home. Let me just say, he's a rock star in Kansas.

I was up.... the big entrance. But I was told it was quick, it was a Friday show, the end of show carrying to a Monday. I answered three questions and time was called. Back tomorrow they told me.

2nd Day: Up first, sequestered for three hours. Also told that 3 of my lifelines were unavailable. Briefing, coaching, review of the rules, what to say, what Meredith would say, what to say to Meredith, going over walking out with Meredith. Whoa. Time had come, out with Meredith, chatted about me, my lifeline, recreated winning a mil, had fun, answered lots of questions.....but......hmmmmmm what happened? The show will air in March '08

Another thanks....to my biggest supporter, and fan, Mary, sharing all of this with me, making life not only bearable, but so very wonderful. Thank you for the quizzing in the Bahamas, the calls, the e-mails. The testing of my knowledge. The e-mail from AJ Jacobs encouraging me to do well. Unbelievable you are. I still don't know how you got him to do that. AJ Jacobs is an author that Denise (a friend and listener who will be on millionaire too, who I met in line at the auditions turned me on to) Denise, the book you sent by AJ, was by far the most interesting and entertaining study guide - The book is called "Know it All, One Man's Humble Quest to Read the Entire Encyclopedia." What a book. AJ, thanks for the e-mail. There are two stories you shared with me that I believe are two of the greatest truths I could ever imagine discovering in life.

Read AJ's book, but...... the first one is the story of Ecclesiastes 9: Here's how it goes, directly quoted from Aj's book. He quotes from the Britannica Encyclopedia that he is reading.

"Here, the Britannica provides a handy Cliffs Notes version of Ecclesiastes: The author's observations on life convinced him that "the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to the intelligent, nor favor to the men of skill; but time and chance happen to them all" (9:11) Man's fate, the author maintains does not depend on righteous or wicked conduct but is an inscrutable mystery that remains hidden in God (9:1) All attempts to penetrate this mystery and thereby gain the wisdom necessary to secure one's fate are "vanity" or futile. In the face of such uncertainty, the author's counsel is to enjoy the good things that God provides while one has them to enjoy.

AJ....that's not all I got from this quest. Your story about the wise men. For those reading: a King asked the wise men of the land to gather all of the knowledge in the world, they came back with 13 volumes. "Too long said the King"..... The wise men left, and a year later came back with one volume, "Too long" said the King. The wise men left, and they came back a year later with a simple phrase. The phrase that summed up all the knowledge in the world with this:

"This too shall pass."

Nice. By the way, AJ in his book talks about his appearance on Millionaire (he tried out and made it...didn't know the answer to what is an erythrocyte, took a guess, and only won a thousand bucks.
Damn, and that's the man read the encyclopedia. It's a game show. Who knows why we do what we do, in the moment. My advice to you if you ever play on a game show?
STAY COOL. CONCENTRATE like never before.

So, Jeff, how much did I win? (Jeff and Jer, it's their show I hang out on in the morning) And, I'm sure you're wondering too.......You'll have to find out. Sometime in 2008. I love all of you. Thank you.

I actually recall seeing her a few years back and she's closer to 5'8" or 9" without heels....

I am pretty sure Laura is like 5'9" - 5'10"...At least that is what I remember!

Hmmm, well, she may be, I suppose.

But for the sake of discussion, if you go to the Tummytube Episode 1, about 30 seconds into it they both stand up from the couch. She seriously doesn't look like she towers over him by 4 or 5 inches, it's maybe a couple inches, three at most.

We know from Amused that FH is 5'4"... so that would put LBM at 5'6" or 5'7" Hey, maybe Amused knows how tall Laura is?

Here's Laura's Diary entry for today for those that can't access the website while at work....

Laura's Diary, October 19th, 2007
Friday, October 19, 2007 at 11:05am

Dear Diary,

This may be gross or sweet, you be the judge. I was up in "my room" yesterday afternoon playing tea-party and watching Spongebob with Evan, when I glanced out the window into the backyard. I spotted something floating in the jacuzzi part of the pool. Upon closer examination, I realized it was a little rat. I immediately summoned the troops (Evan,
Charlie and the neighbor girls Caitlyn and Erin) to meet at the pool's edge to assess the situation. The little guy was so cute. I felt bad that he met his demise in Tommy's pool. Charlie grabbed a boogie board and fished him out. We then picked a spot under the palm trees beneath the dining room window as a burial site.

Charlie named him Whisker (Whisker, Momma, not Whiskersss!) and we said a little prayer and dropped him in the hole I dug with a spoon.

That was the big event from yesterday. Otherwise, the other Huck-Finn-ish thing the kids did was swing on a dead palm frond hanging from the tree next to the trampoline. It looked really fun. They'd take the thick frond in their hands as they stood on the trampoline and then jumped off and swing around the tree. They wanted me to try it, but I knew that the thing would break off under my weight.

We're driving to Grandma Mary's today after school. On Saturday night, Erik is coming over to celebrate his birthday. It'll be Mom, Jenny and her kids, Erik and me together for the first time in a long time. Gotta love that.

So, what up with the psychic reading? It was a trip. On a whim, I pulled into a dusty driveway along one of the main roads in Sedona. I thought, what the heck, could be fun. The lady at the counter took me into a room with all sorts of crystals and things and had me pick two decks out of five Tarot Card decks on a table. Then she sat me down and had me put my hands in hers for a few minutes. After picking out a few cards and sitting with her for a few minutes, she looked at me and said, "What's the deal with the horses?" I told her I've been wanted to ride a horse for awhile now. She told me I need to do that soon. She also told me that I have a whole bunch of loving, caring light-filled spirits surrounding me. She also said she sees a treasure chest with riches flowing forth. She told me she rarely sees that.

As for my love life, she said I was hurting greatly and that the man I've been with will not be the man I will be with in the future, that I will find love in six months.

Okay, I tripped out about the horse thing, but as far as the love life? Probably not too much of a stretch for her to guess I'm hurting over someone seeing as I'm alone in a psychic reading room seeking knowledge.

See you Monday, Diary.

Wow - I went to sleep and woke up to almost 100 strong! It won't take long and it will be well over that. This could cause a whole new episode for Laura, just like at the chiropractor, you know they all check here. She will have her new pea coat in an uproar! Tummy will be racing now to get all the $$$ he can after he sees how much support the DC team is giving to the true "Big Deals" who have survived and use their voices for good!

HB - The spewgram is playing (AGAIN) the boob song....

And now they are going to put the link for the song on their website....

So another 30 minute segment about nothing (it will take them 10 minutes to set it up, 3 minutes to play the song, then 17 minutes to laugh and giggle about it).

Ok, the predictions are starting.

1. FH gets injured before the three day and after 47 protracted blogs, quits.

2. Some moneybags who doesn't even know what the three day is for writes a fat check to cover what FH couldn't be bothered to do himself.

3. If HB actually makes it to the walk, he will annoy the other participants so much that he mysteriously disappears between devouring his catered meal and massage #4.

4. FH won't walk because he is exhausted from searching for a pink shirt in his size.

5. ???

You know what bugs me? The J & J website is so filled with the huge heads of LBM and FH and cloyingly stupid email forwards, that no one could find actual "news" even if they could stomach wading through it all. Have you noticed that the spewgram hasn't had any celebrity interviews in a long time? Their reps take one look at all that crap and run. Oh, yeah, booking is FH's job which explains a lot.

Can someone who is computer saavy tell me how to add the count of the number of hits OUR site is getting to my posts? I feel like rubbing that figure in J and J's face every day.

Ok, one more random thought. I sign on here and then try to remember which page I need to start with. I have tried clicking on "View First Unread," but that usually takes me to the wrong page. Can anyone tell me which features you use to make navigating easier?

Eddie did call him but he asked if he could get him at 3pm. The elementary school is off today (a teacher in service day) and the neighborhood kids are hanging out. Eddie's friend visits the little girl on our street and they all hang out together. It's all very innocent, they're only ten.

So part of it was true and part of it was a big fat LIE. I'll never get why anyone lies. That is so repulsive to me. :spock:

This is so staged..everything is about them and what will bring the most $$$ to their "Big Deal" lives. I don't think she ever went to see a psychic - she sees it all in a penny on the ground.

I have been faithfully reading since March. Just wanted to add my name to the number of people that thrive on this place. Amused, I am sorry for what you go through. I am the step mom to a child and we just learned through a court hearing:wavey: that it doesn't mattter how LOUSY the other parent is, as long as they aren't a felon the court won't step in if custody is shared. It was definately an eye-opener. So all we can do is what you are doing--continue being the stable, consistent parent. Thanks for making this site more fun than dry paint!

They also played "Cats in the Cradle" in the background! I beleive Amused brought that up right here on this board.

It's sad, that song will always remind me of FH and the way he is with the little people. The Dad who was always too busy to go out and play ball with his son, everything in Tommy's life has always been more of a priority than his immediate family.

You should see our photo albums of when I was married to him. He isn't in any of the photos because he was never with us. In the snow, at Disneyland or Sea World, Seaport Village for breakfast, riding bikes, ice skating in Horton Plaza, where ever we were he was too busy to go.

It so sad that people don't even realize how short life is and they let all of these moments pass them by and soon our children are grown and have lives of their own. I have made it my priority to spend quality family time with my kids. I learned to tow a trailer so that we could go camping (I'm too old to tent it) and spend time together as a family. Whether you spend time away together or at home together it's all the same. Some nights we're just playing cards or Eddie and I will play word games on the computer. What I do know is that my kids and I have a ton of memories and when I'm gone they will have me in their hearts and minds forever. That is what life is really about.... not being a BIG DEAL FH, impressing others only fulfills your ego, you aren't filling your kids' hearts. Listen to the words of the song FH.

This part of LBM's Diary (posted here, I didnt' go to the site) cracked me up: "After picking out a few cards and sitting with her for a few minutes, she looked at me and said, 'What's the deal with the horses?'"

Now, LBM blathered on about how she wanted to ride, but you know darn well, the poor card reader was looking straight at LBM's face....like the old "up to three dogs on a cold night" joke, the sayer was seeing at least two horse-like characters in front of her: Mr. Ed, and Francis the Talking Mule.

Thank God the kids have you!!!!
I don't mean to get personal...but since Tummy had made your life personal all along...didn't I hear Jer say one time that he thought Tummy took his job too seriously when you and he (Tummy) were having some "intimate time" and Tummy stopped to answer his cell phone? When I heard that I felt so bad for you! I thought to myself, "That would so hurt my feelings." Glad you left with such high self esteem and such a strong sense of responsibilty and love for your kids!

Nina put softened tootsie rolls on his white sweats while Jeff was in the shower. When he saw it, he freaked out (what with him being anal, and all) Nina played it cool, picked one up and ate it - which really freaked him out! They even called her at home to share the mirth at Jeff's reaction.

Say what you will about Nina, but that was pure inspiration!
I remember this! I personally can't stand Nina - I think she's pompous and definitely thinks she's a big deal. But that said, this was freakin' hilarious. How did she stay married to that creep for so long??

Beyond the lying, I swear to the high heavens that if my parents said ANYTHING (and I do mean, anything) about my friends or alluded to me "liking" someone at that age on the radio (of all places), they would have never heard the end of it. It would be 'tit for tat' on embarrassing secrets that got exposed for him as well.

My 'smart' answer to that would have been, "And, guess where I learned that doing such things is *funny*?"

I have a half brother who was raised by a pathological liar (father). Liar told brother (and my mother's family) that a college trust fund was all set up for him. He rec'd social credit for that for years while my mother's family questioned why on earth she would leave such a wonderful man.

Imagine my brother's shame, disappointment, etc. when he went to the bank to start college and there was no such account. He even called his own FH (who looks like Captain Kangaroo) who out and out went so far as to say, "Yes, it's there. I don't know why it wouldn't be."

Uhh...my brother ended up paying for his own degree. Which is fine...unless you tell your own child you have set aside money for them.

Liars at that level have always been fascinating to me because I lie (big shocker). But, I KNOW when I'm lying. It is usually for some very extreme purpose. So at least I'm not lying about lying (meta lying?) My mother says, "People are only as honest as they dare to be." I like that.

However, in the case of a path'l liar, what the h*#)! is going on in their brain? They usually lie about stupid things.

p.s. I was hoping that LBM's answer to "What's up with the horse?" would have been, "Well, it's true, I've been under a good deal of stress and have been eating a lot more than usual." :P

Sorry in advance for my next comment, I just can't resist and I'm not usually this mean but, How can she ride herself?

hi Paint, I wondered the same thing. The green circle means that the poster is actually on right now. The Mod Alert is to notify the moderator of a 'bad post'.

What is a "bad post?" And what do you do, click the "Mod Alert" button if you're offended by a post?

Friday October 19, 2007 9:30am: I had a turkey sandwich for breakfast. Laura had one yesterday, so I had one today. FULL ON SANDWICH with bread and everything! It was good!

3 day: It's getting really close. I'm already preparing my little "fanny pack" or whatever that is that I'm wearing around my waste (waist), which one is it? I think it's waist. Anyway, I got all the powerbars, Glide for blisters, extra shoes for me and Michelle, sunscreen, hats, etc. I'm already to go. I just need to kick it up a bit with fundraising.

This weekend, I have the kids, so I think I'm just doing Torrey Pines Saturday morning at 9. Please come. I would just be gone too long if I did the Oceanside to Solana Beach training walk, so I'm just doing Torrey at 9am.

I'm also going to hold off on Cowles and Iron Mountain until AFTER the 3 day, but a lot of the regulars will still be there at each location. I'm holding off on those two places to prevent injury.

I think Tuesday at 11am, we will be doing Bikram Yoga with Laura and Barbara Lee Edwards in Mira Mesa for a taping of TOMMYTUBE and for a News8 special on the 3 day.

TODAY: I will do a walk with Michelle after the show then I'll pick up the kids. I think we'll go to Mission Bay or Mira Mar Lake.

This morning was cool, because around 8am, Michelle called me to say good morning and she was at my mom's visiting. That made me so happy. Today's her day off and first thing in the morning, she went to say hello to my mom. That was nice.

Eddie, my little 10 year old boy called me this morning asking if I could get him a little later on than usual because his girlfriend is coming over. Okay, now that hurt and I'm going to say something that contradicts what I said before. EDDIE IS TOO YOUNG. I used to think it was cute that he had a girlfriend, but I was thinking at recess, not in real life at home. I want my little 10 year old back. My boy can’t grow up too fast. I miss those days when he would be next to me in a car seat on the road and I would just hold his hand, now he thinks I'm a freak if I hold his hand. :)

You know what? They sure do grow up fast!

Dreamergirl, imagine, if you will...we had an annoying poster here, who maybe said very unkind and hateful things toward a specific OTHER poster...or used foul language, or did some kind of spamming here...you could use that to alert a Moderator to come looky see.

Many of us got very familiar with that button when That-Poster-who-shall-not-be-named was a frequent visitor.

A Few thoughts about his blog:

1. Don't buy the power bars now, FH ... that's like buying the Halloween candy a month in advance. You'll eat it all and have to go out and buy more!!!

2. Yes, FH, Eddie is too young to do the things you envision him doing with girls. But, thank GAWD Eddie has a mother who's on top of things and pays attention.

3. Yes, they grow up too fast. That's probably why you're feeling a little melancholy about seeing them grow ... you've already missed so much of their lives. There's not much time left to be a father.

Okay, rant complete.

This is a reference to LBM's diary yesterday in which she mistakenly referred to her SWEATER as a Pea Coat. There was chortling and gentle mocking here...and it struck me as funny, so I chose it for our phrase of the day. :wavey2:

It's fun to find ways to have everyone join in. Who wants to take deciding the phrase of the day tomorrow??

Listened for a few minutes this morning. Delana did the news and told about an Armenian event this weekend; Jer made a remark about how he and Pam had been planning to go to dinner with Armenian friends but the friends had cancelled. He was making fun of the Armenian event and meant this to be funny. He said it twice, just in case we hadn't appreciated the "joke" the first time. Jer's racism shows from time to time so I'm going to start keeping track.

Racist comments by Jer:

Armenians--10/19/07

I know I've heard a number of racist comments from him about many different minorities in the past. Disparaging anyone with an accent is a favorite pastime of his; particular if the accent is Asian (including India) or middle Eastern. Let me know if/what you hear and I'll add it to the list. I'll need help because I don't ever listen for more than a few minutes at a time now.

Turned the radio off when I heard the stupid boob song was coming on again. But just before that, they did the Barbara Lee/FH commercial about the 3 day--but this time the whole dialog of Barbara Lee giving the web site and FH saying "Just hold on a minute now, Barb", or whatever he said was gone...instead they cut the original commercial short and had recorded a another announcer simply giving both web sites.

I'll bet Barbara requested the change.

Delana rocks--would love a Delana/Rick show. Nothing against Jen; she's o.k. and she does a better job with her compilation of "dirt" than Laura does.

I had listened to J&J since probably as far back as middle school, but after the move to 94.1, I started to lose interest in their repetitive, boring, and monotonous drivel. However, I have now found my new addiction, which would be this message board.

5. ???

Texasgirl
#44

My predictions about the 3-Day; we're all on the same track here:
There has to be a crisis that takes FH out of the walk, but it won't be until the last minute so J&J can milk the fund-raising for at least a couple days. Then the crisis will occur, and they will milk that with great drama and many call-ins about "what should Tommy do" for another show or two. They have to have something to do with their 6-10 time slot!

FH's crisis will be any of the below, in no particular order:
1- A problem with Rosa;
2- One of the children "needs" him;
3- LBM relapses and he has to rescue her.
An injury is possible but that isn't quite as compelling since it doesn't play into his usual rescuing-other-people crap.

OR, perhaps he will simply lie and pretend he did it (maybe show up at the beginning and end). . . FH: "If I say I did it, I did."

My friend, Cathy, thanks all who have donated to her 3Day. We are going to keep a tally and let you know how much DC has donated. Here is her link:

She said she will take pictures of FH if he really does the walk. She said she'll just look for the news crews since he's such A BIG DEAL!!

[QUOTE=Newer Reader]Listened for a few minutes this morning.

Hi all,
I, too, have been here since LBM was,"taking care of family issues", back in March. It took me some backtracking to figure out what LBM means. I totally agree, LBM too. Then FH became "the savior" and I became [I]ill. You are all very witty and I looked forward to reading your take on the situation. I never had anything to add, so I didn't.
It has been difficult keeping up these last couple of days, so many new posters, so much to read. Thanks for all you old timers out there who have made me laugh. I look forward to checking in each day.

Looked at the KSON site...BORING! All they do is post who the "double your paycheck" name that's announced is....YAWN!

What's kind of neat is the only "views" that surpass our thread is the Fox6 Couch Potato contest. They have over 1.3m views.

We have 912,184 as of a few minutes ago. Didn't one of us say just a mere 36 hours ago that we had surpassed 909K views? Wow...not too bad for 36 hours ago!

And the final one, it shows who is logged on at the moment and most of the logged on users are us!!!!!!!

I am sure you, Surfing Texan, not Texasgirl, or any other name with Texas attached to it (how can we keep track?)are documenting the many times FH has tried to call you, as well as Mr. Steele blowing you off. This speaks volumes about how that company operates. Clearly Tubby has a lot of leverage.

Although I don't know Amused personally, but I find myself concerned for her well being just because Tubby seems to be the type of guy who is a ticking time bomb. What with all of his anger issues repressed-he's bound to let it out one day in a big way.

I took Krav Maga for 2 years just in case he ever gets out of hand. Remember the movie ENOUGH with Jennifer Lopez when she beat the sh*t out of her psycho Ex and sent him out for a dirt nap. That's the style of fighting that I learned. Not to mention I was almost car jacked in Palm Springs and I was shoved to the ground as my girl friend was purse snatched in Vegas (both of those within 3 weeks of each other) two years ago.

I went to the same High school as Mario Lopez in and even interviewed him for the school paper. As a matter of fact, he dated my best friend from high school. But that didn't last too long.....he had wandering eyes even back then. He had so many girlfriends, one couldn't keep track of them. He pretty much used and abused his conquests.....that was back then. Even now, I still hear stories from random people of how flirty he is. I can say one thing for him, he isn't like FH in the looks department. I must say he is pretty good looking, and hasn't changed. So in that aspect, Mario couldn't be compared to FH. There is just no way.

OK, if you insist:

Spider monkeys are New World monkeys of the family Atelidae, subfamily Atelinae. Found in tropical forests from southern Mexico to Brazil, spider monkeys belong to the genus Ateles; the closely related woolly spider monkeys, are in the genus Brachyteles.

As they require large tracts of undisturbed forest and specialize on ripe fruits, spider monkeys may be considered an indicator species; the monkeys are threatened by habitat destruction through continued growth in South American agriculture.

A recent comparative intelligence comparison gives spider monkeys a value a little above gorillas, so it is reasonable to believe that spider monkeys are among the most intelligent New World monkeys

Disproportionately long, spindly limbs inspired the spider monkey's common name. Their deftly prehensile tails, which may measure up to 89 cm (35 inches), have highly flexible hairless tips complete with skin grooves similar to fingerprints; this adaptation to the spider monkey's strictly arboreal lifestyle grants the monkeys a fifth hand of sorts. Adults reach an average body length of 50 cm (20 inches) and a weight of 6.4 kilograms (14 pounds).

Their arms are very small, but yet very long. With legs that are on the shorter end, the monkey walks with its arms practically dragging on the ground. However, they are one of the very few kinds of monkeys that don’t rely on their arms to help them walk. They just stand and walk on 2 feet. If some trouble occurs as far as balance goes they just grab onto their tale to help them. Their hands resemble their arms, being long and narrow. Another feature to the monkey that makes it recognizable is that its nostrils are very far apart.

There seem to be a few of us with "Texas" in our names, and now I think a couple of us have the same avatar, does anybody know how to do the custom ones? Last night I read a post from another Texan, with my same avatar, and thought "when did I write that??"

I wasn't the one who contacted the show, but I wish I had. I don't have an avitar, either.

Remember, everything really is BIGGER in Texas!

Yes, you are correct, sir. They have also tricked her, through repeated subliminal messages, that she has holy balls. Good point.

If FH is such a good son, and has always taken care of his mom, yadda, yadda...why didnt his "master suite" go to her I wonder? She could have moved in with him and had 24 hour care. If either of my parents was that ill, I wouldn't want to be 45+ minutes away from them. Somebody mentioned the drive from PQ to CV being a lengthy one, well tack onto that extra time since he supposedly sleeps with the Mooch up in Escondido every night.
