Girls, Girls (and Boris, too)......the best mascara HANDS DOWN is Almay One Coat. I have blond lashes, and it makes them "full and luxurious" in one coat (okay, maybe two coats).

Hey now - you call and I appear. Actually, I don't recommend any of these products. They are made from bat crap. Take it from me, give Mr. Sketch black markers a try. They stay on all day, come off easily with a babywipe, and they smell like licorice. If Oprah knew about them - she'd use them too, girfriend. Outstanding.

Laura - what else can we say about her. Lame, doubt, lazy, bad parent, over paid, elephant-sized nose, alcoholic, accused drug user, etc.

She continues to show her laziness - it is January 24 - her latest diary and dirt entries are for January 20. She must be napping or making an offer on some hideous house.

She continues to flaunt her vanity. She proudly stated that she wears 8 1/2 shoes, even though she's really a 9 1/2. She said that she is in pain and can hardly walk - but it's worth it. She is so down to earth and true.

I can't believe she thinks she's smater than her husband, the pilot. Jeff and Jer always claim he's the smartest guy they know. She is so full of herself. I doubt she's smarter than my Shizu named "Left Nut." At least he rolls over.

I don't want to admit it (and prove my own ignorance to be included in the "Laura is an Ignorant Overpaid Druken Laziness Bad Parent" club), but I checked - mascara IS made out of bat crap! I found my proof on the internet (and if it's on the internet, it must be true, right)?

I'm stopping by Office Depot on the way home from work and I'm going to pick me up some Mr. Sketch markers - I hope they have them in brown (chocolate smell). Besides, I hear that men love that Egyptian woman eye makeup.

I'll be the first to admit it, Boris - we are NOT worthy!:agree:

Ok, wait a minute...We went from make-up to Bat crap?

What happened to Lingerie-Talk?

It's much more fun to look at AND is usually accompanied by a nice scent. Unlike the bat guano they use in mascara. <grin>

Say what you want about Laura. One thing she is- is entertaining. I can't believe she was describing in full detail about the brazilian wax job from yesterday! I was laughing so hard on the freeway, that I was crying when they were doing the RRRRIIIIPPPP! sound!! ha

Here's an excerpt from her diary:

Dear Diary,

I've experienced different levels of pain in my life. I've been hit by a car, I've had two cesareans, I've had botox needles stuck in my forehead….but none of that compares to what I experienced yesterday.

I got my ya-ya waxed. We're talking full on Brazilian…and I thought I was going to die. It hurt so friggin bad. I truly thought that all my skin had been ripped off. Maybe the pain kept me from thinking about the fact that the girl who was doing the procedure was looking at parts of me that I haven't ever seen!!!

After the procedure, I got to pick out a pair of sexy panties from the wall of lingerie. I picked a pink thong with a little rhinestone design…so cute. The goal of course was to slip it on my bareness and flaunt it in front of my husband. Well, by the time I got home, I was drained. So, we watched American Idol in bed with Charlie and ate popcorn.

When I woke up this morning, though, I felt great! I got in the shower and went…"ooooh! Yeah! Cool! It does feel good.

I also don't believe:
That Jimmy Hoffa is buried in the Meadowlands
In the "single bullet" theory
Brittany Spears is talented
Laura is a good parent

On that note......you are right about Laura, Whiskers....we're going to hear how much her hoo-haa hurts, she'll be doubled-over in pain under her desk, will lose an entire night's sleep, and will sleep through the pickup time for her kids at daycare. Did I miss anything? OF COURSE I DID!

How many more cosmetic things is she going to do to herself? She is on the neverending search for something to make her look prettier, taller, blonder, less hairy, younger, less wrinkled, nicer - great message for a mother to send to her daughter. Good thing she's too little to know. Leave yourself alone for a while, Laura - you may look in the mirror one day and actually like the REAL person that you see looking back at you. Just because you get all of this crap for free, that doesn't mean you need to use it!

As I have said time and time again during my entertaining and uplifting sermons at the Church of Boris - Laura is an empty shell. She has no self-confidence and no self-worth i.e. she’s worthless). She is in search of miracle fixes that will make her whole and complete. She needs to deal with her mass of internal problems and forget about the external stuff. She is in turmoil, I think, because she cannot reconcile the imbalance between being a mother (or pretending to be - "Oh nanny, can you please do everything I command and I will pretend to be a hardworking, poor, and struggling mother?") and a young party-animal. Poor Laura thinks she's still in college - they even put an offer on a house in the SDSU area. She'll probably be hanging out at the college pub, insulted that no guy will hit on her. She'll cry on the show and get Dr. Bucco to fix her for free.

On the topic bat crap in mascara - it is true. There are also hooves in Jell-O - they are used to make the gelatin.

But, I was in my car around 11, and they have someone named Jason who does the afternoon show - tell me that is NOT Helper Boy Randy - he sounds just like him. Maybe Jason is Randy's Straight alter-ego? I know, he's got "that girlfriend Debbie"....

And what happened to the guy that used to be with Mel in the afternoon? Is that her name? You know, the one with the voice that could bend steel? The one that is always talking about LA Weight Loss?

I just went to their website, other than J&J, they don't have any of their DJs names on the site. That's how interested THEY are in them..........maybe they couldn't afford to keep anyone after the salaries they have to pay their morning showgram.

That's interesting that Duncan is out at 94.1. I see that is one of Chris' headlines at SDRadio.net but I can't see the article since I didn't pay for the subscription. When I googled it, I saw a little blurb but it took me to a site that I don't see the info on and when I try to get more info, it says I need to be a member..... You can't keep doing the same thing and expect a different outcome.
Jer was doing jokes dyslexic-as always totally lame, but they had a lady on the phone who was supposed to laugh at his jokes. Well she didn't just laugh, she would make comments, this got everyone on the show mad (mostly Jer)and they all were telling her to shut up and JUST laugh, they put her on hold several times. It sounded very uncomfortable and his already not funny jokes were made even worse. They are so irritating, old, stale and pretentious.
Listening to them make me realize how good AJ's Playhouse is.
Smitty: Jeff and Randy has the day off. The girl you hear is Emily-someone they hired to do Randy's job because he couldn't handle so much responsibility.

How many bandwagons can Jer hitch himself to? He needs to realize that just because it's on Oprah, doesn't mean it's true. Yes, she had a disease "expert" on talking about the bird flu. There are experts who will also disagree on its epidemic implications and severity. It’s all speculation right now in the U.S. Oprah also told us that the book, A million little pieces, was true - as did the entire Jeff and Jer program. We all know now that the words were meaningless in terms of validity. I can't believe that Jer went out and bought a month's worth of food and water because of what he heard on Oprah. Hey Jer - I actually have some special dirt in my yard that has antibodies in it that are proven to kill bird flu germs. I'll sell it to you for $1 million...

Did any of you hear Laura's son coughing horribly this morning on the telephone to Laura before he went to school? Good going Laura - send you kid to school sick so he can infect everyone else. That's how things spread. Keep him home and let him rest. Charlie said he wanted to go because it's candy day at school. Oh, well, that's OK - he shouldn't be kept home if it's candy day. Screw everyone else who tries to keep their kids healthy. It is this selfish philosophy that contributes to the sad fact that Laura is an idiot.

"Since the end of December, long time readers have noticed a drop off in the daily reports. Here's an update.
In January 2005, I was hit by a car near Sports Arena in San Diego. This week on Thursday, I will, hopefully, undergo the last in a series of surgeries to repair the damage to the left shoulder and humerus. So please bear with me for another week or so.

I hope, once past this, to be in less pain -- and regain use of my left arm.

Jeff and Jer come in and the station starts getting rid of existing DJs? Seems unfair. Maybe it's not much different than Jack after all. Has Mel expalined Duncan's absence - or does she avoid it? She the worst DJ ever - she has a horrible, annoying voice! She must not make much or she'd be gone too.

I am so sick of the stupid mile of men bit. Laura gets so obnoxious and cuts everyone off. I can't stand when she tries to use street slangs like "aight..." She is so full of herself. She acts like she's running the thing and is the expert of men and like they'd all go for her if they could. FYI - your looks might get a a buck and a quarter on the corner - outside a center for legally blind senior citizens.

Think Duncan went to 92.5 and Cindy Spicer is at US 95. 94.1 had to make some cuts somewhere with the huge salaries they are having to pay for the morning show.

Mel probably isn't allowed to say anything about Duncan.

When I heard they were going to do the Mile of Men again, I felt real sick to my stomach. How boring. I am quite convinced now that J&J have absolutely no new material to entertain us with.

Seems to me that somehow J&J have had this website brought to their attention. How could they not know about it. Yet if they did, then they would have a clue that people have had it with them.

Jer continues to be so righteous and almighty. He is so so full of himself. I don't listen to them as much as I used to, but lately when I have, I don't recall having heard from Randy or Rick lately. Are they still around?

Hasn't Laura found that new house yet. Alright already.

I love this website and it is far more informative and entertaining than J&J will ever be.

They are soooo lame! My radio gets KSON 92.1 then skips to 94.1- I can't get 93.3 on the radio and the computer connection is not working for the last couple days. So I'm listening to J&J and the Mikey show (annoying). I am so excited when 10am rolls around and heidi, frosty & frank come on.

They play the same segments again & again (homeless people). Did you catch their comments regarding being "non-profit". They said their bosses are non-profit but don't want to be, that the plan was to make profit but it hasn't worked out that way. That explains why the other radio DJ's have been let go.

I could not believe it when I heard that stupid high maintenance bit on the show this morning. I almost passed out when Laura claimed to be low maintenance. Fortunately, she scored pretty high on the quiz, but not high enough. I can't believe she claimed not to need sleep to function! Everyday she compalins that she is tired and talks about he she's going to nap when she gets home!!! Why is Laura high maintenance you ask:

1. She needs to nap constantly
2. She spends money like crazy on clothes (even trying to give stores IOUs and using hte emergency credit cards)
3. She spends a lot of money on her hair - extensions, color, etc.
4. Got fake eyelashes
5. Gets a fake tan
6. Talks about wanting fake boobs
7. Spenda a lot of axing
8. Has a nanny
9. Has a housekeeper
10. Is an all around snob
11. Does not cook and goes out practically every night
12. Cosntantly compalins and feels sorry for herself
13. Has a neverending need to go out and party
14. And the list goes on and on....

The entire show is high maintenance. I already described the worthless soul known as Laura. Here are some thoughts on the others:

Jeff
1. Spoiled rich guy
2. Married twice with a third on the way - can't be along. Totally needy and dependent on a woman to take care of him and make him feel whole.
3. Has the brain of a child - always wants things spends a lot of money of worthless gadgets, mail order items, etc.
4. Colors his hair and wears a hair piece
5. Gets a tan
6. Gets pedicures
7. Always brags about himself and what he buys - needs approval of others
8. He acts like a woman

Jer
1. Spoiled rich guy
2. Gets his nails done
3. Admitedly almost gay - into decorating and monetary things.
4. Always tries to impress with big words, even if used incorrectly. Today he said the word "congruent" when talking to a junior caller.Oooo - he's a smart radio guy mommy!!
5. Always manages to throw in the fact that he lives in La Jolla, goes to Palm Springs, meets famous people (at least they were famous in the 1940/1950s - aka Jerry Lewis and other crusty old Vegas guys)
6. Mentions his Mercedes quite often
7. A high maintenance vegetarian
8. Tries to dress like some Sopranos guy - shirt open, lots of rings...
9. Whines a lot
10. Thinks he knows everything

Randy
1. 40 plus year-old man living at home - need I say more?

Rick
1. Way too much into fashion - need I say more

Tommy
1. A needy, womanizing pig who treats women like dirt and cheats on them like crazy. Also, like Jeff, can't alone without (or with) a woman...

Oh boy, another Laura-centered show. Yes, I do sympathize with her (I can admit it) regarding the loss of her father. That is a real tragedy. But come on, a bird unloaded on me while I was walking down the street yesterday, but do I think it's my crusty old aunt trying to send me a message? No! The sad truth is - Laura is a lost soul in need of attention. She is looking for anything to make her feel complete - from cosmetic fixes, alcohol and partying, to over spending and living likes she is still in college (or high school). She grabs onto anything that might slightly resemble a potential message from her father to give herself hope that someone is actually caring about her and watching over her - maybe, just maybe, a miracle will happen and I will finally be happy. She needs to find happiness within and stop looking for outsiders - including the deceased - to bring meaning into her life. They talked about this for most of the show. She's been watching to much Ghost Whisperer. And then, they replay the bit for the last 30 minutes of the show. Let's get some new material...

Don't forget, she just bought a house in the SDSU area just 3 blocks from where she met Dave. The movie Old School comes to mind. This area will be very conducive to Laura's partying at almost 40 years old lifestyle. Now that we know that it is on a cul-de-sac, has a lap pool in the backyard, and is 3 blocks from the main SDSU campus, who here thinks they can pinpoint the exact house on Google Earth first? There are not that many cul-de-sacs at all in the SDSU area so this shouldn't be difficult. Heck I'll even throw the first one out there. How does the house on the right down at the end of Tierra Baja Way with a brown roof and what looks like a lap pool in the backyard look?

If it's the one with the open green area behind it - might not be a good idea for that family. She'd actually have to watch the kids there - they may wander off or get snatched by a coyote! Rethink this, Cains!

I was driving in this morning, listening to the show (why, dunno). Anyway, they're going on vacation the week of Feb. 13. What is UP with that? I can't believe the amount of time they get off for vacation.

So, now we need to listen to a rehash of the rehash of crap that they make us listen to.

Just to give you all the heads up. if you think Laura's whining and complaining is bad now just wait until she starts moving in to her new house. Mind you most of us can't even afford a house.

According to her the thing is completely unfininhed. So be prepared to hear MONTHS of whining and crying about how expensive things are and how horrible it is not to walk on carpet.

I usually like Laura ok. But this may put me over the edge.

Well, they don't MAKE us listen to it - some of us are just gluttons for pain.

Laura is on right now via phone because she's home sick with a staph infection from guess what......hair extensions! So now she has to take 5 showers a day, take meds, and they may have to shave her head. Laura: This is God's way of saying "Just LEAVE yourself alone!"

I guess Dave (her husband) got the staph infection on his hoohaa.....yikes! What the hell is going on at that house? Two words for them: Antibacterial SOAP.

YoungAmerican
02-03-2006, 08:45 AM
Yeah listener13, I know, I was just jabbing at ya. I heard Laura on too talking about her "infection". All I can say is "GROSS"!!! Didn't Dave have this infection awhile back??? Wasn't he in the hospital and really, really sick? I didn't hear everything she was saying but it sounds really nasty. It is true that Staph germs are everywhere but most people don't get the infection because our immune systems are strong enough to fight it off. Guess Laura's immune system just can't handle the overload. Who would have guessed, I mean with all the partying, healthy take out food.........

boris85
02-03-2006, 09:16 AM
Laura has a staph infection. Imagine that... It's probably because she doesn't get enough sleep - no, she naps constantly. Maybe it's becasue she spends so much time cooking and cleaning - no, their housekeeper - let's call her Alice - does that, and Jimmy Carter himself feeds the family. Maybe it's because she parties too hard, eats like crap, and doesn't bathe properly?? She always comes to work unshowered and without make-up. A staph infection will attack a sore/wound that is not kept clean. She says it's not because she is dirty, but it is. She did not keep the area clean enough or she would not have contracted it. I can't believe that Dave got the bug on his one-eyed snake.... That raises some interesting questions. But that was a while ago, maybe even at their previous sresidence. God, I bet Laura's hair smells like a toilet!

listener13
02-03-2006, 09:37 AM
seriously, for someone who is SO into primping herself all the time, you'd think she'd hit the shower more often. Maybe she was afraid to wash her hair because of the freaking extensions......I don't get it - someone who spends ALL this time, effort and money trying to become something they're NOT not, you'd think she'd at least keep herself clean. Whatever. She's probably going to be shilling for "personal slave" businesses on the air so that she gets a free one.

Laura: Go to Ulta! They have all kids of shampoo! So does RiteAid, Longs, Albertsons, Vons, Ralphs, Big Lots, Costco, hell, even 7-11 has shampoo!

It sounded to me like Dave still had the staph infection - maybe I didn't get that he had it earlier. Antibacterial soap and Lysol can be your friends, Cains!

"Hi I'm the fabulous and beautiful Laura Cain - when I am not going on house boat vacations, getting Botox injections from my good friend Dr. Bucco, getting my teeth cosmetically enhanced, or using my Cox DVR, I am using Staph-Out, the once a day staph infection fighter. Don't shower much? Doesn't matter, not with this miraculous product. Just spray it one and walk away. The fresh pine scent has even been clinically proven to attract the opposite sex. And get this - it also fights and repels lice, ticks, chiggers, mosquitoes, flies, and tapeworms! Out of toilet seat covers - no worries - just point and spray. Wow - now that's an all in one product!! This amazing product is now available at select 24-hour drug and liquor all over San Diego or at your local community clinic. Oh, I almost forgot, for our friends South of the Border - no, I am not talking about Dave Cain's recent staph infection - I'm talking about Mexico! Staph-out also comes in a zesty salsa scent! He said this when they were discussing whether or not they would come back in another life as themselves. Everyone said Yes they wanted to come back as themselves that their lives were good. He has a really cushy job making the big $$, lives in Del Mar, CA, one of the most beautiful places on earth and from what he says all the time he had wonderful parents as a kid growing up. What in the world could have messed him up so much???? Some people waste so much time being screwed up that they fail to enjoy all they have, which in Jeff's case is sooooo much more than most of us can ever get close to having, materially speaking that is.

Scrapper, I heard the valentine comment too, when he didn't say anyones name I thought he's probably taking Elizabeth & Laura (he's always taking Laura on "dates") Then after valentines day he'll talk about his date and then surprise everyone that it was with his daughters and "share" with everyone that he's going through another drama, that it didn't work out. I am truly speechless after the mile of men. What a waste of air space. Laura was so obnoxious. She has the attitude that she is a goddess and can judge all of the guys on the mile - "you're cute; ah, not so much; lose the jacket; etc." FYI Mrs. Cain - you aren't that good looking yourself - big freakin' nose and infected scalp included! Then, she says they all look like partiers, like her people from the Lamplighter. Like that's a good thing. She is so insecure that she is constantly trying to look cool, like a college student or something. If if were her Doogie Howser look-alike husband I'd jump out of the plane on a future flight and conveniently forget my parachute.

I agree with the speculation that Jeff is flying solo again. It's strange that for a while all he could talk about was Kristin and now he never even mentions her name. Something is fishy in toupee ville... It's just like it was with Nina, the Padres self-appointed hoochie, he just stopped mentioning her suddenly.

Something is fishy in toupee ville....

I saw a video of him playing a tuba at a school football game in 2003.

Everyone was wearing these hats and at the end they would wave them in the air.

He wasn't wearing his hat. Instead he was holding on to it and at the end he took it and waved it in the air. My first thought was that he didn't want to risk waving the toupee instead of the hat.

I tuned in to see what was happening this morning and all I heard was women requesting the numbers for the men they wanted. Talk about boring for the radio.

Everyday Laura digs herself deeper and deeper into the "stupid" hole. The stuff she admits to really shows how stupid and clueless she is. She downloads ringtones everyday??? 2 or 3 a day at $1.99 each??? Even conservatively that's like $1000 a year!! And then she says "but it's ok because it "makes me happy". For how long Laura??? You constantly gripe about being broke but never take a look at all the money you waste downloading ringtones, eatting out constantly and spending tons of money on clothes and shoes???? Damn, you are sooooooooooo STUPID!

Laura is the dumbest person in San Diego - I am now convinced. She details how much money she throws away on ring tones and screensavers, and then says: "but it's OK because it makes me happy." Not everything that makes you happy is good! It's like saying: "I drink a twelve-pack a day, smoke like a chimney, and love marijuana - but it's OK because it makes me happy." No! Her reasoning lacks common sense and logic. No wonder they are always broke - even though they make very good money. I have never heard a more miserable soul before. And then she talks about how she cried to her friend last night on the phone, complaining she just could wrap her arms around her life (or something equally pathetic). I feel terrible for her kids. Instant gratification often leads to eventual dismay. Laura needs a lobotomy.

Also, a note on her disgusting hygiene - she mentioned today that she often forgets to wear deodorant, and that her arm pits were sweating. Classy...

Jeff is definitely alone again, at least until he finds his next security blanket, I mean woman. He and Laura should hook up - they are both depressing losers.

I guarantee that Laura will be crying the day before her move, complaining that she just didn't have time to pack because she's too tired and overwhelmed. She doesn't know what to do because they are supposed to move tomorrow... Blah, blah, blah.

When they were talking about being scared today, did anyone hear Laura making comments about knowing why they were all afraid, and then someone mentioned that they had been having meetings lately and that's why they were scared...something like "this business makes them afraid", or something to that effect.

I may be reading into it, but it sounds like there may be problems at 94.1--maybe some of them are afraid of losing their jobs???

On a related note, that was a boring, stupid segment, and they played it twice! I hate complaining about J&J but they are just not very good anymore--I still have them on the radio in my car/work because I want to be loyal, but I find myself not really listening to them very often anymore.

I agree - Howard Stern is a pig, but at least he had a purpose - to be a pig. THAT's HIS mojo - not J&J. Howard Stern has a definite listener demographic - and J&J try to appeal to a much broader audience. BIG BIG difference. And while Howard succeeds in being a pig, J&J have lost their appeal to their broader audience.

Tom: I think the problem here is that J&J do have a loyal listener base, but we expect more from them - not the same old rehashed stuff time and time again. It's stale. Now, I don't presume to know how to produce radio shows, but I do listen to them, and I have listened to them my entire life, and I've gotta say - even radio stations in much smaller markets are more creative than what's going on with the "showgram". And, I'm not the one making an ungodly amount of money producing and starring on them.

The listeners expect more given the salaries that are earned on that show. The other problem is that in giving J&J those salaries at this new station, they lost the rest of their DJs (probably because they couldn't afford them). We listen to more than just your 2 hour radio show each day (which is basically what you're down to). What's left is Jack, basically. Except they have something more appealing on the morning show now (I'm sure that will get old, too, at some point).

Long story short - until different, more interesting stuff is done on the show, you're going to hear the disenchantment. And while you may say that we're only a small group of people, we speak for your demographic.

Well said, L-13

Back in '88 or '89 when they first got here, I was roofing houses listening to Tommy run into donut shops with lawnmowers and calling phone booths. Back then it was funny. But I grew up... and eventually changed the channel. I go to forums like this now just to keep up on what's happening with the old crew. That's it. Do I listen? Not much...I'm way more into Sports talk radio than teeny-bop Mile of Men schtick. What I didn't understand about this forum is that everyone hates them so much, but still seems to know their every move (Obviously from listening). That's what I don't get. I know, I know, the forum reads, 94.1 DRAMA club, but come on - If you bang your head enough times - eventually you would stop banging your head, right?

Just the opinion of a former listener who turned the knob when it didn't work anymore.

I use to listen to Jeff & Jer faithfully since the early 90's until I became a stay-at-home mom. Then I would listen to J&J occasionally, until the past few years. I would still look at their website & read Laura's diary.

A few months ago, I saw Jeff's engagement pics & the ring he bought his fiancee. I was shocked! I had no idea that he & Nina divorced. It makes me so sad! I listened to him BEFORE they ever got married, then when she got pregnant with Mark and then Laura, and I even caught the program where he talked about their last birth, Elisabeth & how Nina grabbed the baby out. I can remember Jeff reading a letter he wrote to Laura on the day she was born, how he'd be there to walk her down the aisle when she gets married, ect. And I remember Jeff reading letters he wrote to Nina that would make me tear up. I thought they'd be together forever!!

Anyhoo...that's when I started searching to find out more about their divorce and found this forum. You all make me laugh. You write the things that I think about the showgram! The complaining about money like they're on a budget or something! YEARS ago when they left B-100 (was that the station?), I was told by somebody in the radio industry that J&J made well over a million a year. I didn't believe the person because Jeff (in particular) would always be yapping about money.

Then Laura. I listened one morning when she was talking about fixing up her house they owned, yet they needed a renter for condo. So they owned two places at that time. Then I read in her diary that they were renting a house & hoped to buy in the future when she gets their finances together. How does that happen?! And I nearly fell off my seat when I read that the nanny went to Hawaii with them. Don't talk about money problems when you can afford for a family trip to Hawaii & pay a nanny to go along. And this was shortly after Laura (according to her diary) depleted their savings to buy Dave that dream car of his. Wasn't that less than a year ago? How do you go from broke, and now be able to buy a house?

Looks like now the engagement between him and Kristen is off (but I haven't listened since the week before last, and so much changes on the show, except, of course, Laura's constant whining about how she has no money, and her mindless drivel about all the fake stuff she's doing or going to do to herself - yada yada yada).

Who here actually thinks the Monique and the Man show is any good? Forget about Jeff and Jer, Monique may have the BEST gig going in San Diego Radio! She makes $1 Million a year in salary and is only on in short burst segments that average about 1 minute of talk time every 12 minutes! The rest of the show is filled with commercials and music. The only way to follow her radio bit each day is to listen to the entire 4 hour show. She's only on for maybe 20 minutes at the most during her entire radio show! Based on that math, she actually makes more per minute than the entire J&J showgram!

"Best of" How long is their vacation? I mean I know they need/deserve one, you know working their fingers to the bone 45 minutes a day and all.

Did you REALLY expect them to work on a "holiday"? Of course, there are a few of us still working....but it was actually nice not having to battle traffic. Hey, make every day a holiday!

Is 50 year old Jeff going to fess up that 35 year old Kristen has moved back to TN?

In case anybody is interested, for the very short period of time I tuned in, I heard Jeff went to Florida with Kristen to visit her grandmom. So they are still together.

I heard that too....

I must say, I'm not a Jerry fan but his story about the Motley Crue concert did have me laughing in the car this AM. I didn't hear too many of their stories but a few minutes of Laura being white trashy.

Is it me or are they excessively playing commercials this AM? Every time I turn on my internet feed, it's a commercial!

I caught that too.

Sounds like Randy had the best vacation- I want to go to Disneyland- it's been forever.

Jerry is a pompous idiot. I can't stand him worse than others don't like Laura. Not only did he buy tickets that nobody wanted, he can't add- How do four $75 tickets equal $400? He kept saying that he lost $400 a weekend. I think Motley Crue was a bit, I just can't see a venue keeping people LOCKED out in the rain because a band is late, I've been to a lot of concerts, and can't think of anyone who didn't have an opener. He described the venue as similar to Sports Arena- Most of us have been to events there- can you imagine the chaos that would ensue if people were locked out? Don't think so. I did smile when he said he got puked on:puke: Sorry I know I'm being a mean girl.

On the "See What You Heard" section of the site the first entry was "LAURA'S MYSTERIOUS ORBS".

I was really scared that it had something to do with implants or something.

Instead it's just a picture with some light flare off the lens that she must think is a spirit or ghost or something.

Since I didn't listen today I have to assume that's what it is.

Now that I think about it, would I rather see her non-existent orbs or listen to her talk about ghosts? One would make me want to poke my eyes out with a bic pen, the other would make me want to shove that bic pen in my ears until my eardrums ruptured so I would never have to hear her talk again.

Okay, maybe that's extreme but both options fall under the torture category.

Yes, as always Laura is soooo over the top. She thinks these "orbs" are some kind of presence in her house. Her wacky mother told her that they are angels since they are white. It was funny though when she called Dave. I guess he said something to her the night before that made her think he saw something in the house that would back up her "feelings" and he skirted around it, basically saying he didn't want to burst her bubble. They finally got him to spill the beans and say it was just reflection of the concrete dust being stirred up. Hahahaha, stupid Laura, like she doesn't have enough to worry about in the land of the living.

Was it the Laura show today?

Every time I tuned in, she was talking.

I have a feeling that once the two J's contract is up, they are leaving the air for good.

This time is spent grooming Laura to take over the show with the rest of the group.

There can't be any other reason why she is in there talking so much.

I sure don't think she is very pretty. And I'm sure I'm not the only one here that thinks that.

I think that she wants to think she is pretty, but in reality she is so insecure about it that she goes to great lengths to try to achieve it. Hair color and extensions, make over, tans, etc.

Maybe it has something to do with working with a bunch of guys. They comment she is pretty and she feels the need to live up to that standard by doing all that work on herself.

I wonder what would happen if a true California beauty started working with them. My guess is Laura would not be too happy to be out of the top spot.

Hey, I don't like broccoli, but if I haven't eaten for several days and you put a plate of that stuff in front of me, it would look kinda good to me too. That's where I think Jeff's comment stems from. She was the only "blonde" around him most of the day.

Oh, and Laura if you are reading this I'll bet you said "whatever" to yourself about 3 times already.

A couple of things.....first of all, if Laura were so obsessed with how she looked for Jeff & Jer, she'd get her butt out of bed and put on some makeup before she went to work (which she doesn't).

Secondly......let's face facts: Jerry is an old dude, and Jeff, for all intents and purposes, is as close to gay as a straight guy is gonna get....so making herself all "perdy" for them is a total waste of Estee Lauder mascara. Jeff has been around blondes before - one of his ex-wives was blonde (not sure if the carpet matches the drapes, but whatever.)

I doubt that Laura would do all of this stuff for herself if she had to PAY for all of it - a lot of it is free for doing her nasaly endorsements.

I wonder if a lot of this isn't based on the fact that her husband is a pilot, probably a great catch in some younger girl's eyes, and he's surrounded by cute stewardesses all day.

Or, mainly, because she is one of the most insecure people on the planet.

When you think about it, that show has so many insecure (but highly paid) people working on it - it boggles the mind. I'm sure there are homeless people out there WAY happier than these people are - it's sad, really. I'm not saying that money solves everything, but the money they get, coupled with the fact that they only really work 3 hours a day - that would make me ecstatic!

YoungAmerican

They weren't sure if it was going to be a phone interview, but they really wanted him to come into the studio. :sing:

Laura had the GALL to say "I hope he goes to our website to see what we look like and see that he's my crush of the week" - as if HER photo and the fact that he's her crush would get him to come to the studio. After that, I was hoping he DID go in to throw a phone at HER!

Okay, was driving in this morning at around 7, and heard Jerry talking about the new Bloomingdales that is coming to town (replacing some of the Robinsons May stores). Again, he knows how to reach the station's target audience - he tried to describe what Bloomingdales is like (is it like Neimans, is it like Nordstrom, etc.) - many people haven't been in a Bloomingdales. He had to call his wife to describe it to us, and ladies - you are going to want to be the first through the doors - basically, Pam described all of the items I know I have in MY wardrobe - she purchases designer suits by Dana Buchmann and Ellen Tracy.......I'm sure all of you girls on the board here have at least one Dana Buchmann in their closet - am I right, girls?

I'm kinda sick about how he rubs it in everyone's face how rich they are. They definitely have a handle on their target demographic.

$298 is not that much for a blazer. I guess it's what you're used to. My wife gets her suits from Garfield and Marks. Yes, they're expensive but they're a classic style and they keep the same style for years so that you can keep adding to the wardrobe, rather than replacing it every couple of years. How do I know? Been buying her gifts since before we were married.

One of the things I like about boris is that boris really sees how much of a dumb blonde Laura is and isn't afraid to point it out.

Let's make that "bed head" blonde from the song that local band wrote after seeing her do the walk of shame back to her dorm on one Sunday morning.

Maybe this show should focus on trying to do amusing things, or things that can really help people, as opposed to thinking they're better than us, or smarter than us. Focus on that like they did in the old days, rather than these stupid filler bits.

As far as Laura goes, she should just try to focus on staying awake....that would be a big improvement.....at least in the lives of her children.

I agree. They should get back to the amusing stuff. They are so predictable. Whenever they say to tune in at 7:10, I know not to start listening until 7:35 because they will drag it out as much as possible.

As far as them helping others, it is about them. They help others and talk themselves up for being such great people.

I really wonder how Laura would function with a real job that requires 8 hours of work a day. My guess is it's either this 4 hour a day job, or she would expect her husband to support her while she stayed home and slept most of the day.

I used to have that as a preset but I just can't stand that Tom Lykis.

I wish they would bring back the music on that station! If there's any there, I'm surely missing it because I don't know when it on.

I don't think there is music anymore on that station or I'm missing it too:sleep: I have to admit that I do listen to Tom occasionally- people are such idiots! When I listen I think "have the guys calling in for advice- actually seen Tom L?" Why would any woman with half a brain (much less a hot bodied woman) deal with the way he says to treat women? Or be interested in anything but his $$. uuugghhh!! So disgusting I think I'm making myself sick..uh-oh:puke: sorry..

When I would catch him on the radio I would cringe at what he was telling people and be mad when a stupid woman would call up and not be able to tell him off or defend herself...but then I thought, "hey, there aren't any intelligent women out there listening to him that would desire to call him". Yeah, it's not like he's attractive. :heh: There are women out there who will sleep with anyone so I'm not doubting he's getting it. What a loser.

I was just listening to 103.7 FM. They have a new local show on in the evening. At least I think it's new because I listen all the time to Phil Hendrie at this time and he wasn't on.

Anyway, these two new guys are local to San Diego and they said something like "we could do stuff like Jerk and Jer with a bunch of listeners in a parking lot..." or something like that.

I had to laugh when he said Jerk and Jer.

It looks like they just changed the schedule on the 1st and they haven't updated the site. I didn't catch the guys names, but I think they were a team here before because they made a comment about being back on the air.

I actually enjoy the 103.7 lineup. Phil is hilarious if you get the joke and Lykis is entertaining if you realize it's entertainment.

Actually if you realize that there is a difference between radio show listeners and radio show callers, then it makes sense. Phil gives away his secret all the time and yet there are still callers that don't get it.

Did anyone read Laura's latest diary entry?

"My poor kids have the worst diet right now. The refrige in our current home is half broken so doing a big vegetable-laden grocery shopping trip is out. I did pick up some stuff for the kids last night….fruit chewies, Goldfish, drumsticks (the ice cream, not chicken) and PB and bread.
Charlie and Evie pretty much collected all of the Spongebob toys from Burger King in a the span of two weeks. I think there were 20 to collect. That's pathetic. And, instead of sending Charlie to school with a wholesome Mom or Dad-made lunch, we've been shoving a couple bucks in his backpack for the hot lunch of the day. Evie's been living on fruit gummies and cheese sticks.
Instead of beating myself up, I just keep saying over and over that things will change when we get into our new house. We gotta make it through the move, then things will be all good. I mean it this time. For the first time in our entire married life, Dave and I are settling down. We've moved six times alone since Charlie's been alive. We hope this will be the last move we make for years and years.
I've got to knock on wood right now.
I just hit my head. If feels like it's made of wood today, so that'll do."

Yeah, for men.... :hmm:

Actually, just like most anything, there are some men that don't like him just like there are some women that do.

He knows his target audience and plays to them. If Jeff & Jerk were any good at that then they would be syndicated in other markets as well.

For example Lykis tells guys not to date women with children because the child will always come first. For guys that don't want a family this advice works. When it gets entertaining is when a woman calls in and tells him that men should date single mothers and he gets her to admit that she is a single mom and that her child will always come first no matter who she dates.

Now before you women and guys that don't like him start attacking me, please realize that it's just entertainment.

I don't hate women and I'm not just looking for a good time. I'm dating a single mom right now and I think her kid is great, but I do realize that the kid will always come first with her. I entered the relaltionship knowing this.

That's the way it is on both sides. Whether your a man seeing a single mom or a woman seeing a single dad...kids come first when they're minors. After they're 20 or so that changes - depending on the situation.

Those kids are going to be as big as a house, and then she'll have yet another pity party for herself about it "My kids are obese, they need weight loss surgery, I hope the station needs a commercial endorsement for one". Laura: There are a lot of restaurants on the planet, maybe Burger King might not be the most nutritious :banghead: And, children shouldn't live on fruit gummies - this may come as news to you, but that's NOT really FRUIT! Anything "gummies" isn't really the actual product - it's a really bad facsimile.

In the time it took you to write your stupid diary entry, you could have gone to the store and picked up something nutritious for JUST THAT NIGHT - if your fridge is broken, you may have to go to the store everyday for a few things - people do this, and you work 4 (questionable) hours per day.....this shouldn't be a challenge for you. In fact, some people have to do this daily, after working at least 8 hours, because they don't have the money to buy a week's worth of groceries at one time.:ugh:

Too much of the same ol' same ol' and other morning shows doing new, or at least newer, material.
It'll be interesting to see if they make it to the end of their current contract, and if they do, get renewed or make the jump once again.

I think it's time for them to jump to A.M. and take over a show like the old Charlie and Harrigan or Hudsen and Bauer. More their speed.

It seems as though the enthusiasm has gone South on this website. I have J&J on now here at work. For the past half hour, they have just replayed what they did earlier. How lame. I did enjoy the Russell Crowe interview. He was actually alot nicer than I thought he would be. But now it is the same o, same o stuff. The majority of the show is so boring and predictable. I still like checking in here and reading everyone's take on all of this. Makes for good reading.

Maybe - or maybe they're just full of themselves and so completely out of touch that they think this crap is funny. Either way, doesn't matter - end result is the same - listeners are either gonna bail, bitch, or both.

It's a shame, because back in the day, they were really funny. Now, they're just phoning it in, and barely even doing that. And back in the day, it wasn't the "Spazzy Laura" show, either. She had a minimal role. Now, she just doesn't shut the hell up.

I agree with all of the above posts. Like they say: "It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing." It just seems like J&J are just sleep walking throught their show. It's not like the old days. I miss the B-100 and heck, even the Star 100 days. The open phone days, Tommy pranks around town, random phone calls, etc. Guess they want to go back to the midwest or somewhere other than here. I find myself doing some major station surfing these days. And then I accidently tune into Mel in the afternoons- yikes- her voice is so annoying. She makes Laura seem like Katie Couric!

Take care and keep those opinions comin'- they really do make my day!

It looks like it takes about 4 weeks for the home sale to record and become public record. We'll be able to get the details of the house soon enough. We should be able to see it online by the end of March. It closed on February 28th. Hopefully she got a good deal since it sounds like it may have been a college student rental for a long time. No flooring should have allowed for a flooring allowance as part of the sale.

Ritchie,
I don't get it?

Years and years ago they once had an author of a book that they were interviewing. The interview was going horrible.

After that they said that if ever there was anything that the listeners wanted to get off the air, they could call in and ask if it was available in paperback. The did that as a reference to the author as a way to get rid of a guest without them knowing the listener wanted them gone.

It could be applied to several different things. Next time Laura goes off on one of her "chick" things, call in and ask if it's available in paperback and they will stop the bit and go on to something else.

It was never really used. I was just wondering if any of the long time listeners here remember it.

About 10 years ago, Christmas time, Jeff & Jer said that they would mail listeners a picture Christmas card if you sent them one. I did. I received the showgram picture card. Nina was pregnant with Laura at the time. I thought she wasn't pretty at all. Plain, as someone else said. Jeff would carry on & on about how she "married down" with she married him, and how he would be jealous of her ex-boyfriend who was some goodlooking actor. I was surprised to see that Nina was very average.

I also saw them years ago at Target in La Mesa. The reason I noticed them is b/c Jeff was talking EXTREMELY LOUD, almost begging for attention. They were at the checkout. They had Mark & little Laura was in the cart. This was early 1997. I remember b/c I was pregnant with my first child then (and pregnant women remember EVERYTHING during pregnancy). Anyway, Jeff was very loud (don't know if he was talking to Nina or the clerk) but it was obvious that he wanted every one in the store to notice him. Which I did. Anyway, back to Nina. I saw her in person and she was okay looking.

Well, it wasn't me who called her hot! As I said above, I've seen a crystal clear pic of her (from the showgram Christmas card) and I've also seen her in person. She's average. She looks the same as that ballpark picture above. Average with long stringy hair. I don't know when that ballpark picture was taken, but when I saw her in '97, she had the same hair "style". And also in the Christmas picture in '95 I believe (she was pregnant w/Laura in it). That's why I was so surprised b/c Jeff would rave about how beautiful she is & how jealous he was of her ex-boyfriend who was an actor and apparantly goodlooking. But who knows how goodlooking b/c Jeff would rave about how beautiful (and yes, he used the word BEAUTIFUL) Laura Cain is.

Sue me - I dig her!:eyebrow:

Oh, and don't forget .....Cheats on her husband and leaves him with the kids. Yeah, that's really fun.

YoungAmerican, did she really leave him with the kids? She didn't take them with her? Did he say this? Or was it temporary? (Sorry, I haven't listened in quite some time).

According to the Jeffster, she's still very involved with her kids.

Maybe she got tired of putting the kids down at night and looking for Big Daddy Jeff-o for a little somethin' somethin', only to find him on the computer in his underwear and socks eating bon bons and buying more crap on EBay!:munch:

Ritcie,

I am more impressed by your technical abilities than Nina's beauty.

Well done.

Thanks for the compliment, Listner9. It was a pain because it's streaming video and print screen doesn't capture media files.

Speaking of streaming, I managed to get the clip and convert it to a media file.

Believe it or not, some of the archives are still active at histar.com. If you know the URL you can find the files. I converted the stream to wmv in case they learn and take it down.

Let me see if I can put together a link that my friends here can use to view the whole 30 second clip.

Oh come on.....it takes two to tango.

Jeff is no shining hero in armor.

Three cheers on your comments about Jeff.

Believe me I'm am not defending Jeff. He has plenty of things wrong with him that would probably drive any woman crazy. I actually don't care one way or another who did what to whom and why. This forum is/was just about our rants about them but as others have begun stating, it is getting old and boring (the showgram and this thread).
