My compassion is not limited to those that I know. I don't pick and choose who I show it to...it's kind of my standard practice. I recognize that it's not everyone's. I'm no better or worse a person than anyone else. I just happened to be the one that was chosen to be the "messenger". I did it with honor, and I'd do it again.

Asking folks to donate blood didn't seem to be a really bad thing in my mind...no matter what the reason. It also seemed to be a better response to what appeared to be happening, than asking for money from strangers for strangers. Blood donations don't hurt ANYONE and benefit EVERYONE.

Well if anything the whole situation was entertaining, for me anyway. I'll continue to read the posts and belly laugh at all the hilarious comments relating to the 94.1 FM J&J Morning Show Drama Club Thread. Tommy makes a mockery of his life on a daily basis - and deserves everything that is coming his way.

SDGirl87 can you do seven?

Ok folks, let's try to put the lying, surfing texan crap to bed. Looking back, I wondered at the time why SDGirl87's post "DO NOT DONATE MONEY" was so dramatic. It was because she was already investigating surfing tex and the lies. And I am sure it embarassed and hurt SDGirl87 to have to write that post telling us that it was all a hoax. It is true that you cannot believe all the crap on the internet (think Dateline predator shows).

With that, it got some people out to donate blood/think about donating blood and organ donation. ANd that ain't a bad thing. (Sorry to say that my anemia does not allow me to donate but I did get a daylong blood transfusion right before Xmas five years ago)

So, if our concern was not going to a real mom and her 3lb baby then let's think that it is going to the cute little baby in the red dress (with matching headband) whose mom is asking for blood donations on behalf of the San Diego Blood Bank. I saw that commercial last night...did anyone else? It was great and clearly legit as is the SD Blood Bank. They do good work.

Does this make sense or am I just rambling? It could be that my banana clip is pulled too tight.

Did anyone catch the HILARIOUS call-in from the listener who asked "No offense, Tommy, but do you really think anyone would miss you if you weren't at the tree lighting?" "Kids don't know who you are, they only care about the Grinch!"

I wondered if it was one of our fabulous DC Members?

(Oh, then LBM chimed in very unhappily, "well, I'LL be there") She must be drunk or high today. That was NOT what the caller was asking!

Wow, that got on the air? When I think of Xmas the last local celeb, err BIG DEAL, who I would want is FH. How about Delana, Jagger and Kristi, even Randy and Debbie...who I think make a cute couple, age diff and all. How about local firefighter heroes too?

My original comment (what happened to "hesitant"?) was based on the fact that many believed that "tex" had several different screen names.....if one of them WAS her friend who was "hesitant no more" to post on our site (and I thought I remembered this person asking for a number?!?); AND that poster is still active on another site this morning, then could this be significant?Sorry, if I didn't explain it well enough; and I certainly was not bringing this question up so that anyone might insinuate that there was a connection between any members (past or present) on this board. Again, just curious...

While you may think me involved in this somehow, I know the truth. Acting out of compassion is never wrong...even if the premise turns out to be false. I would do exactly the same thing again, even knowing what I know now.

How exactly was it worded when these people (person??) asked for monetary donations?

SDGirl78, to clarify, was pretty much "drafted" into being the point person with the "family" in the whole Sunnie fiasco. It could have just as easily been me or Wanky or Carol or anyone else that was concerned and taken in by the drama of the situation.

SDGirl78 doesn't need to be critiqued on this - she followed her heart and her conscience, just like a lot of the rest of us that got caught up in it.

Anyone want to get back to bashing on the spewgram or inciting the Elves to do something unorthodox????

I was the MESSENGER for the TexFamily.

I'm not exactly sure how it happened, but it was decided that rather than have 150 people bombarding the Tex family with emails, PMs etc...that one person would be the contact person. "Mike" agreed that it was best to have one person, and through conversations in the chat room (which was open to just about everyone who asked), somehow that person chosen was me.

I had direct communication several times a day with "Beth", the family friend who was "at the hospital" with them, and/or was getting regular updates via phone from "Mike". She also said that her husband "James" spent one night at the hospital with "Mike" and "Holly's brother" (who's name I never thought to ask for). Her information was supposedly first hand and relayed directly to me, and then I posted it here.

I was not an advocate. I was a voice.

Look, we've run over this whole scam scheme scenario several times. You can read what is still on the back pages if you need more.

If you have issues with someone, why don't you PM that person, and try to get your answers there. If they are interested in answering you, they will. But again, these same people have been over it several times.

If you weren't here while it was happening, it probably shouldn't matter much to you, right?

You're right that being compassionate is never wrong.

I'm sorry, I don't ever recall saying that anyone was asked for monetary donations. Of course, I could be mistaken...the last few days have been a little busy. In fact, I clearly recall saying that NO ONE was asking for money. As for my conversations with "Beth", while I'm more than happy to share the gist of them, I don't feel that it would be productive to relay everything that was said to me...especially since it was all lies anyway.

May I ask why you feel the need to be dredging all of this up LONG after the rest of us have tried to move on? Everything you could need to know is there in the posts.

It's time to put this to rest and get the board back to what it's intent is...afterall, Tommy has the 3 day starting tomorrow. Surely there are more pressing interests than yesterday's news and hoaxes.

Ok...<grabs pom-poms from whoever was holding them last>....I officially welcome you Listenernot....!! :)

My two cents worth... (a humble and personal opinion).. I joined this forum in July because I'd lurked for a long while and had been impressed with the caustic wit and often-hilarious, clever, funny and articulate comments and observations from some of the long term posters here...I found this thread because I, (like the large majority of you) had become disillusioned with the whole Jeff and Jer Shamgram ...it seemed like the perfect venue to vent and bash and generally add a few laughs to my day....cheap entertainment at the expense of others. Not a very Christian attitude to be sure but I never claim to be perfect! There was a time, recently, when this thread seemed in danger of becoming a chat room/support group and I PM'd one of the more illustrious posters on this board in a panic asking what all the madness was about...the reply I got assured me that it would all settle down and that 'caustic' would soon return...and that "person" (we are all anonymous here, right?) was right!....not that there's anything wrong with chat room/support groups either...it's just not what I thought this forum was supposed to be about nor what I joined for....that said....I love you all and welcome everybody!

Layla you are so right. It takes a strong woman to be thrown in rehab. It takes a stronger woman to work on her calf muscles and ride up and down the boardwalk at Newport Beach avoiding the bars and liquor stores. She wasn't photographed actually entering the bar and or liquor store, so she is a better person for it. However, don't be looking in the bottom of her dirty laundry basket inside the closet she has commandeered away from FH. Anyone else here interested in meeting up at this race? Is it as crazy as the American Cancer Society Making Strides walk? That was 20,000+ walkers and very crowded!

I'm off to check out details on this one -

I would be up for trying to meet up with anyone who wants. Last year,I had trouble finding my parents there, because it was so crowded. Also, just a warning there is NO parking anywhere remotely close.

Yes! Back to the roots of your original reason to join the board! I even had a bumper sticker on my car and had to use nail polish remover to take off the hellish thing.

I walked in and walked out of the 7-11 without paying for it, just like LBM did a few years back. When the cashier walked up to me and asked me why did you walk out of the store without paying for your redbull, I told him, because I forgot my wallet.
The cashier actually let me have it for free! Can you imagine that. I think he likes my blonde hair. or maybe it's the buck teeth, not sure.

As I recall no specific reason given, although many have speculated that leaving a meth-aholic mom at home with kids while out of town for a couple days might not be the best idea.

But who knows. Sad thing for us is that Laura's not the one to embark on a new career. I mean, other than promoting herself to chim-chim's caretaker.

See...now L-Not...that's where you're wrong. But since you don't know me or anything about me...I can see how a mistake could be made. Do not take my kindess for weakness though. I am neither unintelligent nor fragile.

See, I'm a Christian that actually LIVES my faith, not just speaks it. If someone needs help and I believe that they're being truthful with me, I'll do anything in my power to help them. I prefer to do it behind the scenes without any recognition, but sometimes that's not possible. I actually DO believe in the golden rule and reaping what I sow. I choose to sow kindness and compassion. Eventually some day, it will be my turn to need something, and hopefully someone will be there to pick me up. Even if they're not though, it's ok.

So, in the vein of christian charity, I wish you joy and peace in your journey, wherever it may take you. I hope that this has been the BEST DAY OF YOUR LIFE... C-YA!

Only the showgram would find a made up story about a poor woman dying in a hospital room leaving behind 4 children, while her husband stood by her side willing to give up his own life yet not being able to do anything a "hilarious joke".

Listenernot, please go ahead and explain to me which part of the hoax you found the most hilarious? Was it the part where people were willing to do almost anything to throw a "little boy" a birthday party with out question? Or perhaps it was the part where someone was "fighting for their life to stay alive"? I fail to see the part that is funny. And how would you have done that?

If I were "the messenger" before posting all that crap I would have gone to the hospital and verified all of this was actually real. I'm going to read all the previous posts of this SDGirl87 as yes I do think they are funny, in a sad way, that someone could be so naive and gullible...
You people should be banning her for the reason that she is just so naive and posted all that crap.
Why don't all of you go back and read her posts, where she says this person is a "friend" I mean I seriously thought they were family or something..I know that probably 50% percent of those reading my posts agree with me, but are too afraid to say anything because you will be "black balled" from this board.
How ridiculous!!

Couldn't you maybe kick someone who thinks you like them in the shins?

I think someone might be bored at work

If my husband got on this board to tell people I talk to on a regular basis that my life was in danger, and I was in the hospital, then some random from the board asked to stop by the hospital just to make sure he was telling the truth...

Do you think that would happen? Hell no!

If a random person ont he internet went by the hosptial to check up on their "friend"

Do you think the hospital would let that happen? Hell no!

Sometimes you have to take a persons word as truth, and in doing that you sometimes get burned. No big deal, some people lie, some people really do run into trouble and the support from "strangers" on the internet does help them. Not trust a word ANYONE says can lead a person to a dark place.......and then they just end up being trolls on the internet with nothing better to do then bitch at people they do not know.

Every night in my dreams
I see you, I feel you
That is how I know you go on.

Far across the distance
and spaces between us
You have come to show you go on.

Near, Far,
wherever you are,
I believe that the heart does go on.

Once more, you opened the door
And you're here in my heart,
and my heart will go on and on.

Love can touch us one time
and last for a lifetime
And never let go till we're gone.

Love was when I loved you,
one true time to hold on to
In my life we'll always go on.

Near, far,
wherever you are,
I believe that the heart does go on.

Once more, you opened the door
And you're here in my heart,
and my heart will go on and on.

You're here, there's nothing I fear
And I know that my heart will go on.
We'll stay, forever this way
You are safe in my heart

and my heart will go on and on.

Perhaps it is intimidation then. I know women sometimes have a hard time building relationships with other women. Just untwist your panties and play nice!

For someone who desires to be accepted you sure do your share of not accepting others!

I have alot of women friends, whoever said I was a woman..are you a woman, or maybe posing as a woman, but really a man? Just because your screen name is Carol, does that mean you are a woman..Carol O Connor was a man for God's sake, a real man! Archie friggin Bunker!
And if I wear panties, does it mean I'm a woman because men don't wear panties?

But you better verify that!

"I'm feeling ANGRY...."

Talk About Angry Feelings
When children know their parents care deeply about them and care about whatever they're feeling, they are more likely to talk about feelings rather than act them out in hurting ways.

When you've had a frustrating day, you could say, “I am really angry today because...”
When your child seems to be angry, you could say, "I know you're mad about that, but you can't hurt!" Don't you feel better when someone says, "I understand why you're mad" or "You have a right to be angry"?
When your child is getting angry with a friend, you could say, "Tell him (or her) that you're angry! It helps when you use words."
At a quiet time, talk about things children can do when they're angry so they won't hurt anyone or break things.
Help Your Child Develop Controls
It takes time for children to learn to stop from doing something that will hurt others. It's scary for them to be out of control, and they need their parents to help them develop controls.

Toddlers (or preschoolers who are very upset) often need to have adults firmly and caringly hold them or take them away from the situation.
Think about saying "I'm proud of you." when your child is about to hit, but holds back and finds control.
Help your child practice stopping by playing games like "Red Light, Green Light" or "Stop and Go."
Children also learn self-control when they do activities that need careful concentration, like stringing beads, moving toy cars along a "road" made from a piece of tape, or using snap-together toys.
Find Healthy Outlets
When children have some controls, they're more able to channel their energies when they're angry. Parents can encourage healthy outlets by offering things like:

crayons and paper for painting a mad picture;
play clay for kneading or pounding;
pounding toys;
musical instruments like drums or xylophones;
construction paper to tear for collages;
puppets for making up plays.

I think we have our answer...L-not is A-N-G-R-Y.

If you weren't here while it was happening, it probably shouldn't matter much to you, right?

Wabbit, that's a good point. I just have to say that ever since the Texan fiasco, everyone is suspicious to me, especially the newbs who posted after the fact. How do I know that Recovering Listener isn't Tex's reincarnation? (no offense if you're not, I'm just saying) The fact is, this is a forum (duh, really?). Everyone's invisible and anonymous and the need for accountability is diminished somehow. Here, Surfin_Vixen was a stay at home mom, pregnant, 3 kids whose mouths never touched fast food, another one on the way, a devoted husband, a Cardiff home with 7 bedrooms, 2 brand new cars, etc. etc......not that this isn't possible but now we know it's all a crock of lies....thanks to SDGirl who exposed her and unveiled the truth. The fact is, we just don't know what we're dealing with when we're on this forum. We are here to express our frustration with the showgram, plain and simple. But if along the way, you find someone you relate to and develop a friendship then that's wonderful. We go from there as far as the trust issue. So, let's stop pointing fingers and move on. Eventually, if there are fakes out there, they will be exposed one way or the other (Dilbert , Texan, and hopefully other Texan aliases)

I did appreciate Layla's song mentioning my Leo. Ironically enough, my LEO was of the feline variety (I guess you could say DiCATprio). Hopefully your Delilah was Delightfulah! But I gotta say again (regarding posts from early in the day)...Davecain was very much in love with Laura, proven by the stories she told (do you remember when they hired a babysitter so they could go to the movies but while they were out to dinner he looked across the table and said to her, "I love you so much I could WEAR you right now" and instead of going to the movies they went to a hotel in the Gaslamp?) sigh...
and the times her called in and laughed lovingly WITH her at funny things that happened with the family.
I truly believe that Laura went over the line (no pun intended) and something clicked within Dave and he just couldn't go back. She came back talking about rehab as if it was another college dorm. Then instead of REALLY trying to change, she moves in with the "loser-est of the losers" and dances in a competition. Not exactly trying to be a model mother.
I feel I have a bit of a right to be a somewhat judgmental. I am 18 years sober and quit drinking when my kid was 7. My husband was working days and going to school nights and wine became my best friend. When I quit drinking I started exercising with friends(not laying around watching tv, reading and napping), joined the Parent Group at the elementary school(not laying around watching tv, reading and napping), attending writing classes (not laying around watching tv, reading and napping) and trying to improve myself (not laying around watching tv, reading and napping)! It took awhile to redeem myself and get people to forget my drinking days. But I heard something at AA that really affected me, "You can change your past by changing your present". I completely changed that "other" person and now, 18 years later no one knows me as or remembers me as a drinking, irresponsible person. Laura hasn't changed at all. She still want to live the life of a college girl. She even tries to use the current hip lingo and it's getting a bit embarrasing! I think if she would have proven to Dave that she was willing to REALLY change (get an apartment, get involved in the kid's school activities, exercise with other mothers instead of FH and Moochie) he MIGHT have given her another chance. I don't think opening a box of Halloween decorations makes her a "changed woman". I don't mean to be harsh...I just hate that she doesn't realize that she is still "all about Laura". "Dave's being so mean"...gimme a break...and grow up, honey. Oh...and LBM!!!!!!!
