Dang, isn't his son just a little too old to be in the same bed with Kristen? Scary.

As Jeff mentioned this morning, his son slept in the same bed with Jeff's fiance. Now, isn't that special!

Don't you think it just a little ironic that this woman, going to Vegas to gamble, managed somehow (I'm sure Tommy had a big influence) in getting approval to take not one or two, but five of her female friends with her. Just now on J&J, Tommy is on the plane with these females, drunk and it is barely 8:00 a.m. Tommy sure did plan this "fantasy" well. Mainly his fantasy, not hers. Not sure about you guys, but this guy is big time low life. I feel bad for Christy. I'm sure Tommy can come across at first as being very charming. And then the real Tommy comes out. So Sad. Sick.

I am a personal freind of Christy's and the only reason she didn't press any charges on his stalking her or his harassment of her is because she is to nice a person. I told her to call the cops numerous times. She eventually had to change her phone numbers her e-mail address and her little brothers phone number because he was also harrassing him. I also offered to "talk" to him myself but she just wants the problem to go away.

I'd be VERY surprised if they were #1.

The ranking may be based on some criteria such as "morning radio show not including sports, news, or talkshow...broadcasting between 94.1 and 94.3 frequencies. :-)

It might be old data as well (Winter 2005)....I don't think the latest ratings have been released yet....but I may be wrong.

Don't leave Arose. Present your points and we'll discuss. That's why this board is fun. My take is that the show REALLY stinks these days...convince me otherwise...make me a believer...show me some spunk...and you have my respect. :-)

P.S. Jeff and Jer = CSPAN

SPUNK! RESPECT! Ok...I can do that! But let me preface it with a disclosure...I try to live my day to day life without being cynical and/or being nasty, but, by gosh, I WILL BE HEARD!!
J&J didn't get to be the number one radio show in SD without listeners--like me and YOU...yes, ALL OF YOU at one time were/are listeners. They have maintained that status and they couldn't have done it without listeners and top ratings, so SOMEONE is listening...are any of you out there 'closet listeners'...listening but not admitting to it..huh? huh??
So [JER is a bit over the top! Heck, why not? He's living a great life and he adores his wife. How awesome is it that he is so proud of her and what they have, that he broadcasts it and shares it with all of us. Since I don't see myself becoming a world traveler as he is, I enjoy vicariously traveling via Jerry and Pam.
JEFFI'm sorry but who can't love a guy who shares his whole life with us!! TOUPEE OR NOT, he's totally a guy I could live next door to and hang with. He loves his family. HOW GREAT IS THAT!! So what if he and his sweetie aren't doin' it!! Whatever works for them is what works for them. You can't knock a guy for respecting his religion and his beliefs and trying to be a good Christian man. And he's such a loving Dad :)!!!
LAURA...she's another one who puts her whole life 'in the air' for us to hear and I think that's great also! So she's not the perfect Mother!OMG! Are any of us? As a Mother, we all know that there are PLENTY of women who try to portray that they are perfect ..NOT SO...(does the word STEPFORD, come to mind??) we all do goofy things that 'other folk' may think is a bit odd or that may make them say..."Oh Heavens, I would never do those things!"..to you I say...FOOEY!! YEAH, RIGHT LADY! Laura's a real Mom..just like us and she doesn't try to paint a fake picture of her life! (PS...If I could get free kitchen cabinets in my house by talking about it at work, you bet I'd do it!!)
RANDY...I don't have much to say about Randy but I am surprised that more of you on this thread don't bash him for living at home. For him, I say he's probably got a bigger bank account that those of us that moved out of the house at 18 and have been making mortgage and rent payments for the last 20 years or so!
RICK...I gotta say, I love this guy. Putting a mic in front of him was a wonderful idea. He's obviously a very talented guy...who again, I could hang with him and have a beer!
AND NOW..TOMMY...yes, it's terrible that he's got an abusive history but he's an awesome producer and a very important part of the show! As you know, he's also won awards, both locally and nationally for his radio talents! His personal life has no reflection on his professional life! Don't we all have 'ghosts' in our closet that we would not want to spill over into our professional lives?? Come on...EVERYONE has a secret...EVERYONE!!
In closing, let me say that I respect what all of you have to say and I hope you respect what I have said.
ONLEFTCOAST...I hope I've made you proud! :)

arose, it's just our initiation process. We've all jumped on one or another of the folks here at one time. It builds character. C'mon, at least you have to admit it's kinda creepy hearing Laura read commercials for her cabinets, for her Cox cable, for whatever else she can get for free...all in that same "I'm congested cause I'm a little hung over" voice of hers.

And you can't say you admire her for doing her kid's homework just so the teacher and other kids (cause you know how those other kids talk) don't think her (Laura's) son is ONE OF THOSE KIDS with parents who can't quite pull it together....can you?

And I like Jef, too. But please. He and his sweetie aren't "doing it?" I doubt that. I think they are just careful to keep it away from the kids, and that's fine.

I don't have problems with either Jef or Jer, they're ok by me. Quirks are fine. But I don't care for Laura. Randy's ok too...if he wants to live at home, that's his issue. He's his own guy, on his own terms.

Ric? came too late for me to rate him. He's ok. Just ok.

But I don't see Laura as a regular Mom. Most of the regular Moms don't need to take a nanny on vacation with just two small kids like she has. for heaven's sake.

arose, why put so much effort into telling us stuff we obviously don't see eye to eye on. We, for the most part, don't care too much for the "showgram". Many of us have just about totally STOPPED listening to them for all the reasons that have been quoted over and over and over again in this thread. You are not going to change anyone's mind here and you'd probably be a bit happier if you surfed around and found a "Loving the Jeff & Jer showgram" website/thread somewhere. No disrespect intended but most of us, here, on this thread, generally do not like the showgram anymore but we do enjoy coming to this "place" to talk about our dislike. Anyway, JMO.

Wabbitsd..thanks for making me feel like part of the family here. As I said above, I hope I passed my initiation???

I'm glad you're 'with me' on the majority of this stuff. I guess I concede a bit where Laura's concerned. Her nasally (sp) nose used to drive me buggy, but I appreciate how open she is about EVERYTHING-good and bad. I couldn't be so open!!!! Yes, the homework thing isn't quite right, nor is needing a nanny with 2 little ones, but I still love her too!
Thanks again. :) :)

With the professional traffic reports and weather and news that they have now, the showgram has had to find other stuff for Laura to do, which makes me sad because I dislike her SO MUCH.

Indeed, I believe if she were to find another job somewhere else doing anything other than riding J&J's coat tails, I'd start listening again. I'd even put up with Tommy if Laura was gone.

She has a horrible voice for radio and I just don't understand how she's made it this long.

You are poised and your message well said. It is so nice to have someone balance the scales. It is very clear the Jeff and Jer showgram has left their mark on you just as they intended. I am so glad you find enjoyment in listening to them. You have a great attitude, enjoy the rest of your day.

Just remember, they are entertainers, we have all seen reality TV shows, and we all know that the reality isn't exactly always so. That's all I have to say about that!

Kudos Arose!! You've created a pulse!! And created more reason for me to pummel the showgram... :-)

They have maintained that status and they couldn't have done it without listeners and top ratings, so SOMEONE is listening...are any of you out there 'closet listeners'...listening but not admitting to it..huh? huh??

I think the problem here is they haven't maintained the status. You have to admit that the show is not quite as original as it once was. Like I said before, the majority of the bits are slurps from other market areas (Lost, Idol, Becky's House, Cracky) Just another radio show with just another Clear channel script. Honestly....YAWN!!

So JER is a bit over the top!

Did you mean bent over? :hihi:

JEFF I'm sorry but who can't love a guy who shares his whole life with us!!

I agree with you here...I respect Jeff for his values and he seems like a nice guy. Although, I feel the content was stale long ago ( Heck, its even covered with mold)

LAURA....just like us and she doesn't try to paint a fake picture of her life!

She doesn't have to paint a fake picture. She's fake in real life.

AND NOW..TOMMY As you know, he's also won awards, both locally and nationally for his radio talents!

I saw he got the Sweetwater High School alumni Hall of Fame. What an honor!!! It's a shame he doesn't have a college or a charity that will claim him. Since I'm a skeptic, I'd love to see these other "awards" he's received... Plus...what's he done in the last 5 years except get divorced, get arrested, get stoned, and get fat?

His personal life has no reflection on his professional life!

Oh really? I would lose my clearance and consequently my job if I had one charge of domestic abuse. A politician would be forced to resign or be impeached. A federal employee would be HISTORY. This dirtbag needs a wakeup call. NO ONE is above the law....no matter how many comps he gives to the cops. Slimeball. Jerk. Egotistical. Disgusting. Fake. Drug Addict.

I don't associate with wife beaters and drug addicts in my personal life and I certainly won't start now. BTW, these aren't freakin' "skeletons"...these are living, breathing, compounding problems. He needs serious help.

P.S. Jeff and Jer = PBS Colony of Ants Special

we really do need boris to check in, don't we?

I also don't feel like I need to know a lot of stuff for someone to be "real."...like when someone gets a staph-infected boil on their head.

Open is one thing. What Laura has going on is another thing.

And I'm done with Tommy, too. He puts on the act wayyyy more times than is warranted.

Now, on the horrible voice thing...the same station has Mel (Now I do like her, but her voice!!!!)

what is it with women in radio....why do they have to have screechy voices like that?

I totally respect your opinions, especially where Tommy is concerned. Being a wife, I also am not too fond of wife beaters!!! Just to clarify...When I said "His personal life has no reflection on his professional life!" I mean in how he performs his job. I was not defending his actions by any means!

Wabbitsd...I am SOOO with you on the Mel/voice thing. It's her screechy giggle that gets me!

I just have to chime in here now that arose has "arisen" in our midst.

I started listening the J&J way back when they were first in San Diego on Y95. I can even remember when Little Tommy went to New York to deliver roses to Ivana Trump shortly after her divorce from "the Donald" was finalized. I'll let you do the math on how many years ago that was...

Any hoo, I stuck with them all the way until the Showgram arrived at 94.1. That's when things started hit the skids for me. No more prank calls, no more stunts out and away from the station. It just doesn't have the same entertainment value that is used to have for me. I find myself channel surfing most mornings trying to find a morning show that keeps me smiling. So far, I'm still surfing... So arose, my response to you is that I am on this board because I feel like have company in my frustrations with the J&J show. I would love to be able to park on 94.1, but it just ain't working for me anymore. I am glad you still like the show, that's great- it's just unfortunate that this is not the place to find support for your view.

If you had a husband that repeatedly cheated on you and lied about it and you found out, how close to being violent would you get? I think Tommy brings a lot of this on himself.

Careful Smitty. Let's reverse the sexes and see how that sounds.

I don't care what anyone does. No one deserves to be struck by a spouse.

I'm not defending Tommy in any way. The guy seems like a jerk to me, but just because he is a guy doesn't mean it's okay for a wife or girl to hit him.

The two occasions dirtbag pressed charges were actually a fabrication and a cover for his actions. e.g. If I've been assalted and threaten to press charges and the other party beats me to the punch..guess who looks guilty.

I'm traveling today so I listened on the internet. Sounded okay. I couldn't quite place why it wasn't as bad as usual.

Then I realized that I hadn't heard Laura chime in every 2 seconds.

Well suddenly they changed to "American Idol Radio All The Time" and I clicked on the close button for the window.

I guess if they could get rid of Laura and stop talking about American Idol every two minutes it might be tolerable.

I'm not knocking her, but a woman who is THAT beautiful with a fabulous figure....what in the world did she see in Tommy in the first place? Was his charm overwhelming at the beginning? I know he can't help it & I'm not putting him down for this, but he not an attractive man in the least bit. I know personality can make up for that. Is that how he woo'd her at the beginning, his great personality?

She had just gotten out of a relationship she was in for a year, so I think he was there at the right time. The "rebound guy".

Who are you and why all of a sudden are you coming unto this forum trying to sugar coat J&J. Are you one of them, a friend, relative? Did you not read all the other threads posted on this website? The show sucks. Bottom line. It isn't entertaining anymore. Tommy is not so nice of a guy. Jef is incredibly insecure and needy. Jer, well, according to him, he is perfect. Laura, I don't have all day to go into her needs and whines. Enuf said.

Long time lurker-first time poster here.....ummmmm. forgive me if I'm wrong, but is Christy the chick he met at the carwash? The stripper? And we're wondering what she "saw" in Tommy?

How 'bout a desperate chump who uses his clout as the producer of a top morning show to get chicks, probably dazzled and scheming for what they can get out of the relationship? Tickets, meetings with celebrities, concert stuff. It's a match made in heaven for both. She gets to do some fun stuff and he gets to walk around with a babe on his arm pretending to the world (and to himself) that she is with him because he is stud. I mean, really, if you'll take a dollar in your g-string from any perv who waves one, why wouldn't you take a few from sicko Tommy? Didn't she get a big ol' escalade courtesy of Little "Timmy?"

And while we're on the subject of morning show producers getting action because of their status, Tommy and Abromowitz should hang out together now that they're in the same building.

Cindi Spicer is on right after J&J, maybe she is doing both, because I thought she was gone too and started hearing her voice everyday, right as I was getting ready to turn the radio off.

cindi spicer left 94.1 and is back. she does 957 and 941 at the samt time, so one is previously recorded, im sure to make money for jeff and jer salaries

I agree - this guy that was on yesterday had one of those "BIG DJ VOICES" - and it sounded very old-fashioned......kinda like some of Jeff's tapes from when he was working at the Wooster radio station:boring: . Yuck. We've come a long way since then - don't need the big deep DJ VOICE.

SDRadio.net is saying that Mel is out at 94.1
http://www.sdradio.net/index.php
(note: You may need a membership to get onto this site)

Not sure what happened there - she was doing the show from Hawaii on Monday (I think - otherwise, it was Friday). I only listen for about the 5 minute drive that it takes to get from work to my house. So, I guess she's taking her "steel bending voice" somewhere else (or, she's looking for work).

Weird how they dump Duncan several months ago, now Mel. :bump: Why not both at the same time? Makes no sense. But, Mel's voice used to bounce around in my cranium and give me a major headache.

I guess Jeff and Jer needed to get their annual raises, so some folks had to take a hit "for the team".:shake:

Okay, on a whim I decided to tune in this morning. After flipping channels last night and seeing that American Idol was on I figured the whole show would be "Idol".

Then I heard them say that they would just talk about Idol for a while and then go onto other stuff because they realize that they talk about it all the time and that we deserve a better show.

Could it be that Tommy read the board and suggested to everyone to tone down the Idol talk?

Did anyone else hear that?

I don't think Laura could handle our feedback. With her fragile emotional state and always wanting to be loved, it would send her into a tail spin of depression that could only be alleviated with drugs and alcohol.

Oh wait, maybe she is reading. That would explain a lot.

I remember when Jen was an intern. I even saved the picture they put on their site of her with the painted on latex top. I'll have to dig it up and post it here.

The funny thing about Jen is that I couldn't stand her voice. I don't mean that in a way that I don't like her. There was just something about her voice that hurt my ears. Like fingernails on a chalkboard. I really couldn't listen to her.

I think Jen looked at it....that at least it was a job and she could pay her bills. But I too thought it strange, since she used to say how much she detested country when she was on Star.

Cliff at KSON came out or a smooth jazz format and seems to have adapted pretty well.

I didn't say that I didn't like Jen. I just had a really hard time listening to her talk. Something about the pitch that just annoyed my ears.

From what I've read she seemed to know the radio biz and what she was doing. Didn't she win a couple of cars for choosing songs that were going to be hits before they were released?

Was anyone listening this morning around 6:50 when Jer was telling his story about meeting Mick Jagger (again)? He regretted the fact that he didn't get a photo with him (understandably). Then, he went around the studio to ask people what regret they had in life....

Rick said that his regret was missing an opportunity to get a photo of himself with Presidents Clinton, Ford and Bush (daddy).

Laura - and this one is a gem - HER regret of everything in her life was that she missed the opportunity to buy a "thank you" t-shirt at Urban Outfitters.....is she KIDDING? Is THAT her regret? Not that she doesn't spend enough time with her kids, or that they move every other month, or that she got a freaking staph infection in her cranium from hair extensions? That she missed buying a T-SHIRT? Give me a break.......

I just turned it on, so I missed everything else. You turned it off too quickly- it was a setup for Laura to tell everyone that she is going to AA. I don't get how crackers relate to coming out that you are an alcoholic because I wasn't listening earlier. Did Jeff seriously say his big secret is that he likes to eat the biggest piece of cracker? Ok, alcohol is a hard thing to give up and stay off of and if she’s trying to come clean, then, good for her. Maybe her portion of the show will be better with her not hung over.

I listened from one commercial break to the next and had no fracking idea what the heck they were talking about…so I called.

Tommy answered, “This is Tommy.” As if it’s his own, personal, phone line and not a phone line into a radio station. I wonder what his Clear Channel bosses would think of that. *shrug*

So I said to Tommy, “I’ve been listening since the last break and I have no fracking idea what you guys are talking about.”

He replied that they’re giving something up about themselves. Whatever.

I switched my radio back to AJ’s Playhouse.

Anyway, I think the drinking is a cover for her coke habit. I'm not saying she isn't drinking, but she may admit to drinking on the air but not snorting.

Laura does need help with her drinking and possible drug addiction. I give her kudos for looking into getting help. I couldn't believe though, when today, Randy makes fun of a gift he was going to get her "Wine of the World" and Tommy made reference about something to do with drinking, that he was going to get her (something like that). I found it odd that they would be poking fun at her. Makes those listening who may be in a similiar situation as Laura, get mixed feelings about "support".

Jeff is getting married sometime the week of August 21 . The reason why I remember is that he's bummed that he's going to miss the American Idol Tour (which is here Aug 25).

He is probably looking to find his NEXT wife from the American Idol girls - you can never start too early (or get them too young, apparently).

Sounds like he wants to go to the Dallas Idol concert.

Don't know how Mandesa is going to do with this tour - she's stated on several occasions in the news that she will not perform for "gays"......their lifestyle is immoral, yada yada yada. I don't like Jerry and I didn't hear his comment to know his tone, but Fantasia is illiterate and recently released a book talking about her life. She talks about signing contracts she didn't understand, not being able to read to her daughter, etc. A movie is being made about Fantasia's life and she is going to star in it.

Jerry was saying ten reasons why David Hasslehoff was crying on Am. Idol the other night. One of the reasons (not word for word) is that Hasslehoff was upset that he had to give up a seat that was for Fantasia cos she didn't know it was her seat cos she couldn't read the seat number. And then Jerry proceeded to laugh. Laura told him that wasn't nice. Good for Laura.

Rick is funny! I cracked up when he said "We're going to make a Go-Cart out of a dishwasher"

I'm going to put Laura bashing on hold.
I really hope that everything works out for her.

I agree with you about Laura. I hope she gets her life back on track. I do have to say though, regardless of what she is going through now, she is still kinda whacky.

I still think Rick and Randy are alot funnier and more entertaining than J&J.

Regarding the segment this morning about Jerry possibly dying his hair. He said he would first have to check with Pam (of course). Then you can bet that he will not go the Jeff route and buy the dye at a super market. He will go to a hair colorist and get it done right.

Why did they feel it necessary to start up about Jerry's "song" again? And now we have to hear each one of their pics for "best song ever" bits tomorrow??? Who gives a flying frick what songs THEY like? Do they think anyone is that hung up on THEM? (Ohhhh, I wonder what Laura's favorite song in the world is? It would give me such insight into her soul to know. And Jeff's, jeez, I wonder what his is? I can't wait to find out. It will just make my days so much more productive having the knowledge. Maybe I can even play their songs during the day, just to help me feel closer to them.) GIVE ME A BREAK! I really need out of my car pool.

I listen to the afternoon show going home (all of 5 minutes).....the afternoon guy, Michael (who took over for Mel, who was dumped, apparently) sounds just like Jer's old tapes of when he was a "DJ" in Maryland. He's a dead ringer for him. In fact, one afternoon, my husband said "are they on in the afternoon TOO?" (he's not a big showgram fan).

Maybe there IS no Michael - maybe it's Jerry working to earn all of the $$$$ they pay him at that station? Maybe he felt bad that Mel got her pink slip? Maybe he likes to wear pink slips? Who knows.

Well goodness. What, a whole hour or so on having to listen to the songs. Rick's choice was the best. Gerry's was lame and boring and yet this was his idea.

I will say, I did enjoy hearing the callers who "escaped" from a mental institution. I wonder which of the J&J crew know any of this from first hand experiences. Hmmmm......

Im gonna give Laura some credit for her song choice I think it is actually a really good one. I love that song, they are all listed on the website if anyone missed it. Laure picked Fragile by Sting. Absoutly beautiful song. Im surprised Rick didn't pick Bohemian Rhapsody, since he went with Queen that seemed like a logical pick but oh well.

Saw short, fat Tommy with Hani waiting to scoop out some soup this morning as I drove by, (I work right down the street). Funny, when I drove by absolutely no one was there. They were both just standing there looking around. I didn't have an empty cup or I might have gotten some. I actually eat lunch at LiL Pepper Deli sometimes and it is quite good. On my way to work (5am-ish) I heard them replaying something about nervous breakdown's and Laura was insisting that Jeff has had one. Everyone else on the show said they thought that he hadn't HAD one but that he is ABOUT TO have one. Sounded like there is some stress on Jeff's homefront. Also Jeff's sound the other day was "the Dance" which is about being thankful for what you've gone through (i.e. Nina). I thought he would play the "Broken Road" song which would be more about Kristen. ..

Maybe the wedding in August is actually Nina's? Just a guess.

Yep, they keep referring to drinking. Great, eh? NOT. Stupid, yes. Poor Laura, here she is trying to stay sober and they go on like they do. Jef and Tommy sure do need to get a life. Maybe they both washed down Jer's Ambien with booze before coming into work today.

I think the reason for one whole show almost devoted to "their" favorite songs and now todays show, devoted to tv show theme songs, is because they have absolutely no new material and they put this boring stuff on the air.

You know, more and more of what they do on air revolves totally around them. There is less and less interaction with listeners and more bits where they are just talking amoung themselves like the listeners are not even there. They go on and on about the lamest things. And Jerry always seems to come up with these bits where he says something like he did today. What is your favorite tv show, what is your favorite person on tv??? You have to give your 1st answer that comes to your mind, no thinking about it. Like that really reveals so much but then they go on around and around about themselves and kill a good 10-15 of air time and jeez, a few of those bits, mixed in some news and commercials every 10 minutes and they have there daily $$$ earned. Sickning.

Here's a suggestion...listen from 5 to 9 to Monique on Jack FM who is smart, refreshing and very funny....then from 9 to 10 tune into J&J and listen to a repeat of the first part of the show for that day. It's a lot more enjoyable that way.

Ever since Laura has supposedly stopped drinking, she has been worse than ever on the radio. She keeps trying to chime in with funny remarks that are anything but funny. I guess before she was too hung over to say anything - those were the days. Being sober has not helped her keep her diary up-to-date either. Drunk or sober - once a slacker, always a slacker. Today they made some comments about how Laura is all about family and home. Give me a break - she is always out on the town, putting her own selfish needs ahead of others, and she just bought a house after years of living in squalor. She sleeps the days away, forgets to pick her child up from school, and is the neighborhood liquor store's customer of the century - quality to the bone. What else - she lets her kindergarten son roam the streets unsupervised, lets him watch rate R movies, lets him watch shows like LOST and Desperate Housewives which are on too late for him and are inappropriate in content. I bet the staff at her son's Christian school love the drunk mom Laura Cain...

I heard Jen the other day with Rick in the afternoon, too. Apparently she doesn't have the "job" yet - they may be auditioning a bunch of different people with Rick to find a chemistry. I'm hoping Jen isn't it. Perhaps they were working with Laura (back when the morning show was all Rick and Laura) - but that didn't work out.

When Jen was on with Greg in the afternoons, all she used to talk about was her wedding. If they do put her on the air, I hope Bridezilla already had her wedding day because we don't want to hear about it (learn from Star Jones).

Believe is way over hyped. The dolphin show is great.

Went to SeaWorld yesterday and I have to agree with BELIEVE not being worth it. The music is annoying and after all the waiting, the show was only 1/2 hour long. :spock:

I don't suggest going on a weekend because at some of the places, you're like cattle moving along and the places don't have any air circulation. They charge around $54 (which doesn't include the $10 to park) to get in...they can't afford to get some air conditioning in some of the places? And FYI, the Penguin part is closed which was my main reason for going. :mad2: They have a section open but it's not the section with the Emperor penguins. Not sure when that's re-opening.

Overall, it's a fun trip (though NOT cheap) and well worth it if you upgrade to the fun card (for $5 more) that gets you in all year long but I couldn't do that because I had "complimentary" tickets.

Have fun if you're going!

So, what do you all think of J&J getting that interview with the guy who interviewed John Lennon, the "lost" tape and all that? Why in the world would someone with something so important/rare (if that's what it is) release it on their show?

I was driving to a doctor's appointment this morning, and right about 10, Laura was calling into her celebrity sightings voicemail box. They played this NEVER ENDING message by someone who saw the guy who played McGuiver on TV - OMG! It went on FOREVER! I had to change the channel. Seriously, Showgram - think about the poor listener! Think outside the box - just because you think it's funny - doesn't mean that anyone else will.

I heard the same thing and just about shoved my bic pen in my ear so I wouldn't have to listen. I couldn't belive they were filling time by playing a voicemail message. And one so long and stupid.

Oh and Laura jumped in at the end about the actor being out of work or washed up or something like that. Too bad she never heard of Stargate SG1. From what I can tell, Richard Dean Anderson is still a working actor.

Looks like they upgraded VBulletin software when they should have switched to UBBthreads. :-)

Haven't posted in a while so I thought I would discuss reasons for the showgram's horrid demise. I have a couple theories

1. Wife beating producer has burned too many bridges in the industry and/or too strung out on drugs/alcohol/gambling/strippers to perform his job adequately.
2. Tracy Johnson (and staff) provided more creative/interesting programming.
3. Show members are burned out or short timers.
4. Clear channel has put the cuff on content.

Any thoughts?

I've noticed that Laura hasn't been talking about alcohol much lately. I bet she fell off the wagon (if she ever got on it to begin with). I can't believe that she went on that houseboat sober. That was a dangerous trip - a week on the water with little kids. We all know what an incapable mother she is. Luckily, no one drowned. I saw the pictures from the trip on their website. The image of Laura in a bikini still haunts me. My heart actually stopped for a few seconds until I shoved my finger into an electric outlet for a jump start...

By the way - that trip was close to $5K. She probably go it for free since she's been a prositute for that company for the ast year.

I confess, I'm registered at Target. But it's for my baby shower, not a bridal shower. I can't believe that they would register for so much stuff they both have seperate homes now, you can't tell me they don't have all the necessities. I think it is kind of greedy really. Jeff makes enough money and with it not being the first marriage for either of them it is really rather TACKY. You'd think they would have enough class to put on their invites that their PRESENCE is requested not their PRESENTS.

I recently remarried (2nd marriage for the both of us), and I had friends insulted that we weren't registered someplace. We still didn't register. I agree - it was the second marriage for both of us, we had two households full of stuff, why do we need more stuff? In fact, I told people who insisted that we register that they should come over to our house and actually take something for themselves - that's how much stuff we have.

The thing that's weird is that there is so much stuff on their list that's really cheap.....maybe he thinks all of the listeners are going to send stuff!:)

Anyone get tired of the bit today involving the 10 year old girl who wants to take her mom to Hawaii? They must have wasted 45 minutes of good air time on this. If you do the math Jeff and Jer both make about $3,000 per hour EACH, Tommy comes in around $750 an hour. They charge somewhere in the neighborhood of $1,500 for a 15 second commecial(could be more). Why don't they just donate 10 minutes of their salary or air 1 bonus commercial with the proceeds going to this girl then MOVE ON?

The station is still going thru a transition. If you will remember, they were all music and it was music they chose not the listeners. Well, people really objected to their "in your face attitude" and so they brought in Monique. Then people complained they weren't playing enough music....so they are trying to even out the rationale of music versus talk. I agree with you....we need more Monique. Interestingly enough, she is very knowledgeable about music and does have a lot if input as to what they play. They just need a little more time to listen to their surveys and hopefully Monique will win out.

Hey Mom, how old are you? 14? I'm approaching 40 and love the music. I've been hoping for years that someone would come up with a format that would play all of the songs that we never hear anymore and this is it. I like the fact that I don't have to switch from a current station to an oldie station all the time and get a lot of my old favs. I couldn't stand hearing Kelly Clarkson every 5 mins so this is my cup of tea for sure! Yeah, Jack! :)

Green Monsta....you rock. I totally agree with you on the music. Today's music is for people that don't know what music is all about. The music on Jack is "real music" with artists that you will hear forever. Kelly Clarkson is a flash in the pan.

Tommy: This is Tommy.

Me: Have you counted how many stupid bits are on the air daily?

Tommy: Huh?

Me: You know. How many bored listeners have changed the channel?

Tommy: What?

Me: Dude, can you even count?

Tommy: Umm...

Me: Did you even graduate from High School?

Tommy: Huh?

Me: Are you really that fried from all the street drugs or are you just this stupid?

Tommy: Ummm.

Me: Your show sucks.

Tommy: Oh.

Good grief....why do you even bother. You must have a lot of time on your hands. You know they are all big losers and their ratings are slipping to prove it.

OnLeftCoast- You rock! You are funny! Maybe you should start your own talk show.

GreenMonsta & Whiskers You guys are so out of the loop:disa: . It's NOT Kelly Clarkson every 5 minutes it's Shakira:bump: LOL!

I KNOW you were not insinuating that I do not know music. :guitar:
You are talking to the Queen of "Name That Tune"
Sista needs to get ta steppin.
The "real music" you refer to was "today's music" yesterday.

Not that you care, but I listen to all different types of music.
Just not a stale ipod with ADD (100.7) To prove my point I went to their website to see what has played recently. Sweet Caroline-I'm not dissing the Neilster- it's okay to sing very loudly with friends (along with Cracklin Rosie). Can't get you outta my head ELO--uugghh now now now now- nuf said, New moon on monday- Duran Duran- Hold the Line Big Hair went out in the 80's.
I might've tried listening to them again if I would've saw some Etta James.

ps I'm almost 40 also, the AARP thing was a joke in response to the high school/ whipper snapper comments.

Whiskers, putting a smilie behind a statement like that doesn't make it any less mean. :( Seems like you are really in the mood to slam some folks today.

I also said I called it to let Tommy know that the bit was suckin', do you feel that I too have no life and need to get over something?

This is our 'safe place' to bag on the show, those who are on it and those who produce it. It's a pretty simple concept really, we like to rag on the show.

Me: I keep counting the number of times that Jeff and Jer repeat the same material over and over again.

Tommy: Huh?

Me: Come on, you have to know what I am talking about

Tommy: Hey, what do you look like? Are you available?

Me: <Click>

Is this for real?

Oh come on....relax and don't take everything so seriously. Like Monique...I am a realist and call 'em like I see 'em

Um. Yah, Whiskers, I don't think I will. You said:

And then tossed on the smilie as if no one would notice that you were being rude and calling people immature.

No. Monique is funny, charming and can be a realist without being rude and without resorting to belittling others. And please do not go comparing yourself to a local radio ‘celebrity’, for it only makes your argument weak.

No- just imagining how that call might have gone if I had called in to the show this morning when they were talking about Jerry's compulsive counting issues...

There is just no way Jeff is not getting FAT again. All he talks about is food. Fast food, fair food, food, food, food. I think even his voice has even changed back to the old Jeff over the past year or so.

The show just played their theme song from Weird Al.

"You're pitiful"

For some reason they think that they are funnier than Weird Al. I don't think so.
