I can't stop wondering. I see the apex peoples position clearly and agree, but the no warning bit was radical. Somewhere in an undisclosed location in the continential United States, there lies a big deal who has fallen off a commitment.

Jenny, I think that our angst comes from the fact that we are being accused of stuff without the benefit of being able to give our side. There was no warning given...nothing.

Several of our members have recieved threatning PM's from the attorney in question when they did NOTHING. Absolutely nothing. The attorney posted his website address in his public profile.

I'm genuinely sorry that anyone has been made to feel threatened or unsafe. Our thread may have gotten nasty towards certain people, but we didn't make ANYTHING up. Addresses and phone numbers are matters of public record. We were not the ones posting pictures of our children, and telling the world where they were going to be, when they were going to be there and who they would be with. In most cases, we simply copied and pasted the information from the Star 94.1 public site.

I respect that the owners of GotApex have every right to run this forum the way that they feel is best. I also respect the fact that apparently, some lines were crossed.

I think our frustration comes from the fact that suddenly poof...our thread was hidden. We are not upset with any of the moderators or with GotApex. We are frustrated with the situation, and unfortuantely our ire may be misdirected a bit.

Oh, I understand all that, and I'm sure lights did too. It's just easiest to move the thread temporarily until things settle down and they have a chance to look into it. It wasn't deleted. Posts weren't lost. It's just temporarily relocated into private forums until the posts & information in question can be looked into. :)

There were alot of post to some of the spewgrams peps addresses and links to there homes but it's not like it wasn't all public information. It only took a little searching on the internet and all was right there. They are all a bunch of cry babies. The spewgram can't take the truth. Like has been said over and over again. They constantly throw their personal lives out there on the radio everyday but if you aren't telling them how great they are and how much they changed or touched our lives they just can't deal with it. So sad.

What this Thread is "supposed" to be about is simple:

Determining hypocrisy.

When Jeff says he a "religious, God-fearing-Christian," and we see he has been married three times....we wonder.

When Jer claims he a Karma-driven man, married twice, and yet "allegedly" has flare-ups of anger and "allegedly" loves to drink and mocks every person who does not share his beliefs (how many times has he used the term "homophobe?")...we wonder about his peaceful Buddhist beliefs.

When Tommy preaches on the value of family, and court records indicate he "allegedly" has been charged with domestic violence, and empirical evidence seems to indicate he is womanizer, we wonder about his sincerity.

When Laura spends years declaring how her "babies" and her "marriage" are the best things in her life, and all the while, "allegedly" spends her extra time drinking and doing drugs, we wonder about her concept of devotion.

When the station's minions "allegedly" hire an attorney because people are "infringing upon privacy," we wonder....just who are the two and only Jeff and Jer and how is it "this" has (allegedly) been "the best day of our lives."

I'm going to speak up for everyone right now, and say that you haven't done anything wrong. I don't think anyone blames you for what you've done, and I would be very disappointed if anyone slandered you for your decision. You have nothing to worry about from us.

It sucks that you were approached by an attorney. That isn't a pleasant experience, and I'm sure not one you'd like to go through again. You did the prudent thing, making sure you're covered, before just letting things continue.

You brought up a good point in your first sentence, which tells everyone a few things - a) your online identity is not as private as we all thing (in other words, don't think you can hide behind an online handle, because anyone can find out who you are), b) public info. If you put it out on the Internet, it becomes public info. No matter whether you intend it to be.

I know there will be debate about public vs private info in posts in that thread. Keep in mind how easy it is to find info about you, a non-public person, and how easy it is to find info about these public people. I don't believe anything on that thread was private information, that wasn't available to anyone searching on the Internet.

Please, take your time to review. Heck, do the same thing these DJs did - spend $150, and hire an attorney for an hour to review what's happened - both any notice you've been served with, as well as some of the details of this thread. It's worth it for piece of mind.

I'll leave you with one last thing - anyone can be sued by anyone. When I left a former company I worked for, they refused to pay me what I was owed. I took them to the labor board. Their lawyer wrote back and told me they'd sue me for overpaying me (which they hadn't). I wrote back to them and told them to go ahead and try suing me. Funny thing - they never contacted me again, especially when the labor board told them they owed me the money.

If Paypal Carl did indeed have something to do with the BRIEF shutdown (though the administrator said he might bring it back up) will he then cite us in his legal case winnings? Afterall, this could be his biggest win of 2008....the Censorship Case of FH&Moochelle vs. the DC Board.

Bet this could get him lots more work, like cases involving untrained puppies peeing on the neighbor's carpet, newspaper carriers accidentally throwing the daily news into a birdbath, and an irate neighbor who pulled a groin muscle trying to retrieve the toilet paper that had been strewn about his yard (didn't one dynamic member of the showgram do this?)

thanks for the support,... i honestly thought there was going to be a whole suckage thread on how much i suck and everyone was going to leave got apex forever just b/c of me. but this is what i love about this place,... the loyalty. nowhere else do i find this kind of familial loyalty and i appreciate it.

with that said,... please know that not everyone is net savvy, some have a difficult time reading tone on a forum (especially one as active and diverse as this san diego one) and some of us (i.e. yours truly) don't even understand half the initials/acronyms you guys were throwing out which added an additional 90 mins of reading time for the sections in question. however, some of those recipes seemed very interesting so i'll definitely be checking those out in the coming months,...

but i digress.

i understand the fun that comes from these dramas and god knows i've done my share of contributing to it when dealing with those subjects that i'm passionate about so i'm probably just as bad, if not worse than all of you combined.

once the thread comes back, let's, for a little while at least, cool the taunting and teasing for a bit.

assuming you guys haven't already gone to yahoo groups, which would mean IIII would have to join to continue reading some of the recipes you guys might share.

simply consider the what if questions. this is NOT directed at ANYONE from anywhere,...

but as an example. if you were to put up pictures of my kids (i don't have any but for the sake of the example work with me here) on this forum and wrote about how cute they were, how talented they were, etc., i believe the issue i may have with the pictures being up would be a bit less than say if you were put it up those pictures, draw the devil's horns on them, and wrote all over it "die die die" - and everyone laughed about it and jumped on the band wagon.

now, did anybody do that? nope. but was it headed in that direction? nobody knows. one things for sure, i didn't quite like where some of the comments MAY have been headed and when it was brought to my attention (again from another time) i had simply pull the thread and take a closer look to see what and where the thread was at.

having said that, were there some questionable posts? yes. were they ban worthy? i personally don't think so. GAM will decide that later, but i highly doubt it since GAM is a just GAM and it will probably give warnings first.

if i was a very protective parent, i probably wouldn't want any pictures of my kids up on the net regardless of how positive people may view them. whatever the case may be, try to play nice around here as i definitely wouldn't want to stop the insanity, but also don't want mr. law enforcement knocking on my door (for whatever reason) just because we had a few misunderstandings.

as mentioned in my previous post,... just chill for a week or so guys. take note of the warnings and restrictions and keep putting up those recipes.

He joined. He alledgedly sent Conceptis a PM asking her to stop posting. She stupidly complied. The pm was forward alledgedly by coneptis to some other DC memebers and it was reposted here on the board. Someone looked up his profile whiched linked to his blog. The info in his blog was discussed. He then sent other members emails (not sure how many) that included THEIR personal info (which was NOT hard to come by and had not even been attemtped to be made private) in an effort to scare said members. Stating that he basically knew who they were and requesting that they don't talk about his wife and daughter. Those people kept posting, then our thread got pulled. We then heard that SOMEONE, not sure if Carl was the guy, called Lights at home. Lights had pulled our first thread to investigate charges made by said caller.
In the interim, OKODM also noticed discalimers placed in Wonks old posts, so we are guessing that he was contacted and threatened with a copyright infringement lawsuit, but we don't know any of that for sure, and those edits were made before Carl registered.
