I'm kinda fond of alledgedly now. It takes much more thought to keep it legal. I also like my number, 181, it works from the top, the bottom, forwards or back or from the side, and if you are kinky enough, upside down.
Sorry. Did I write out loud again?

mnguy, would this be a horizontal/vertical/diagonal thing?
Why isn't my post number increasing? I am stuck at 280 (posts, not DC members).

Hi there, long-time lurker, first time poster - after seeing what happened, knew it was time to join so that all the big deals can see this forum will not die but will become bigger and more popular.
What do you think about #204? That is your number, and welcome to the posting side of things.

Hey Trixie, you been hittin' the sauce tonight?
Okay, maybe I skim (Forgive God, for I have skimmed) maybe I am not as sharp as you younger ones (I am certainly not as sluethelike) but are we still sittin on the sidelines and not playing the game when it comes to our old, original thread?
We have this new one - J&J's Great Deals (I am still waiting on a bargain) and the one with everyone's photos..correct? Am I missing one. BTW, ya'll so pretty. Jake...schwing!
(Now I must be hitting the sauce as I am saying sexual comments about the other gals on the board)

I'm going to throw caution to the wind, but here's the link
http://community.livejournal.com/san_diego
Scroll midway down and you'll see the article.
At first I thought it was PPC getting publicity for his ambulance chasing business, but it was actually posted by one of our own (good going, by the way). Wonder what the "big deals" think about us now? Wish the article mentioned that we've temporarily set up shop someplace else (with allegedly less comversations about certain alleged individual's children, even if they put it out there themselves - just saying......)
Update: Read the comments - there's a couple from PPC himself. Interesting how he bends the facts to suit his own purposes.
I finally read this...wow! May we all stay together, strength in numbers...onward! Jake too, please--take a break if you must, but don't leave!

[SDGirl87]
While I could/should have sent you a personal message I am doing so here, SDGirl87, because I think a lot of us feel this way. Maybe your life and schedule do not allow for a child now, but do not discount what you can offer. I read your post first thing this morn (and tried to reply then but had a computer hangup and had to run to work) and there is no way you would be cheating a child. You seem wonderful from what I have seen. You can do it on your own. If you are worried about having a male influence, what about a brother (I have 4...take one or take them all!) a male friend, or even Big Brothers?
There is financial assistance and older children who need homes so you could still work while a child attends school. DO more research and don't give up hope. I know you want to do this and I think you would be excellent. YOu are probably ten times more capable than you think. Sorry for sounding corny, folks.
On another note, why not go to a Speed Dating event? I did one...about 5 years ago, and was surprised at the quality of both men and women.

Hi all -
Another dirty lurker coming out of the woodwork!
[I took the liberty to edit some stuff out. Trixie]
Oh, and give me a number by-gawd! Before I unload a fifty gallon barrel of whoop-ass on somebody.
What do you think about #205? Keep it alive!
shello - you saucy gal, you. I'm just trying to stay up to date with this new thread.

yeah I wish I had known about PR in college thats what Im trying to get a job doing now and have no expierence doing it...oh well...
Look on craigslist in the jobs section and you might find a PT internship. There is a PR/Mrktg section or you can go to the San Diego Public Relations Society of America website and see if under the Jobs section there are any internships. (I forgot the website name...just Google it) Some are paid, some are not.

You are now officially 'starred'. Look for the roll call to be posted in my near future.

Is there another thread [other than the evac Yahoo] that I do not know about? I'm not counting noses on that one. Of course, I have my PM disabled, so I guess I'll never know.
One day, I might figure out that option, but I don't want PPC to PM me.

Hi. I have been lurking on the DC thread for almost a year. I stopped reading during the holidays and was shocked when I went to catch up yesterday and I couldn't find it! I actually registered in an effort to get access. Finally, I found this thread and will be trying to catch up on everything (I'm only on page 11). For the record, I have no connection with the J&J Show or anybody that even knows them. The closest I get is that I went to Jingle Ball a couple of times.
I look forward to catching up. Thanks for the great entertainment.

Here are my opinions of today's publicly broadcasted radio program:
First - Jeff, our fake Christian friend, was in top form today - interrupting everyone. He said his kids were huge hip-hop fans. That seems like a contradiction: pure, white-bread, supposedly Christians in da-house?
I want more info on Emily’s popped boob…:)
Laura one again proves she's an idiot. As someone with supposed radio training, she had no knowledge of Pat Boone. She also has a disgusting sore on her finger. It's one of three things: 1) an infection from one of her drug needles; 2) herpes; or 3) an ingrown hair. I can't believe she used it as an excuse to leave early - she claimed to go to the ER - yah right!
Wow! Big news - Laura Loser - our public radio personality - got a new lamp and a TV stand (which she messed up during assembly). What is she some kind of refugee? She has to eat on a blanket on her kitchen floor? Time to call CPS!! She should be a contestant on "America's Next Top Vagrant." She claims to have purchased a pack of screwdrivers at a gas station on Christmas Day?? Strange - maybe she means screwdriver drinks. :stupid:
Still no Tummy blog - maybe his fat fingers are no longer capable of typing.
Make today a perverted one...

Is this the same Emily who they were getting a recording contract for back in 2000?
If so,
Didn't they meet Emily when she a 15 or 16 from like Poway HS and they were 40 year old men on their second marriages?
I wonder if this creeps anyone else out? Allegedly or otherwise?

Trixie - they only count posts when you post on other forums within apex. Your 280 posts were probably from the original drama forum. If you post on another forum within apex, you will probably see the number of your posts in this forum added to the 280. That's how you get ahead in this game! Happy posting!

I found this website, or the former one, when Laura disappeared. When I found out where she was, I truly wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt, and hoped that she could get herself together. Sadly, I don't think she can, and it probably doesn't help when you are surrounded by so much phoniness. I have lost any respect or appreciation I ever had for their show over the last year. They don't reply to even the most mundane non-confrontational emails. I have emailed the DSC & Mikey and always gotten very prompt responses, nothing from J&J. Anyway, thanks for all the great posts, it is interesting reading, and a great break when I just don't want to look at work!

Longtime lurker finally signing in. I looooooove this site and am constantly on it at work. Don't tell. I'm just now figuring this thing out so be kind. My friend flipper helped me. Anyway, glad so many others share my opinions about the shamgram. FH makes me ill, and the shenanagans (is that the right word) that LBM has pulled really get my goat too. What a mess. I have to admit, I can't even bring myself to listen to the show or check their website even though I'm curious as heck about the train wrecks that call themselves big deals.

Thinking of retirement.
Getting weary....J & J are simply too much to endure. They suck beyond belief...and no one seems to care....morons like these should NOT be worth millions per year.
Jake is moving on.....................
Surely there is someone/something else out there that irritates you enough that you can wax eloquently about their shortcomings?
Your witty bon mots would be sorely missed!

I finally joined the group early this morning and now everyone has left. I'm starting to feel a little paranoid.
I did go to the Yahoo site that was shown on page 1 and signed up there. If I need to be someplace else, could somebody let me know? If you want to PM me, I will be glad to answer any questions to help verify myself. I don't want to miss any great deals!

Hi I have been a longtime lurker. A work colleague told me about the site after I started to complain about the lack of morning radio entertainment. Wow have you all confirmed my thoughts about the spewgram plus more! May I have number and a point to the new site.

Hello all. It's been a lot of fun paging through all this stuff. Love that teeth surgery! One of your readers tipped me to this site. I write a media column for Voice of San Diego (www.voiceofsandiego.org) called the Peanut Gallery. Free speech rules may not apply here, but they definitely apply in my column. I'm really interested in the whole saga of what's happened with this site and would like to speak with those who know the whole story. You can learn more about me at www.sethhettena.com and can contact me via the e-mail on the site. I am not affiliated with Carl's Jr, a PayPal attorney (need someone to explain that one) Jeff Jer or Laura but I am interested in a group of pissed-off listeners forming their own community on the Internet. Best, Seth Hettena
If there is anyone here who still needs to know where the new site is, post on the board or send me a PM and I will respond with the information.

For more than a year I have enjoyed the banter of this board from afar (yes! another longtime lurker!) and today the pressure got to be too much! With the exodus of the chatter to a new board, I can't bear the thought of not being included! Please may I respectfully request a number and a link to the new stress-free location?! Looking forward to hanging in the background and continuing to enjoy the entertainment! (It sure is a lot more fun than listening to the show!) Thanks!

Hello all...at least all of you who are still here. I have the same story as so many others, googled the show when you know who went missing, found this site and have been a loyal lurker ever since. Was going to give my 2 cents during the week of the fires but then the whole fiasco happened with she who shall not be named so I decided to keep quiet for a bit longer. Imagine my surpise and horror to find the drama club pulled when I returned from vacation. I found this new site last night and have finally been able to get through all the posts...and now you are all having fun somewhere else. It is time for me to come out from behind the computer screen. I am not one of them, I promise, only a listener that has been let down one too many times just like the rest of you. So Trixie, will you please give me a number and would someone please pm me and let me know where to find you. I miss you all....................

I think one of the requirements of gaining an invite is to write a three paragraph essay on why you don't like the show, whether or not you accept paypal, what was your favorite rehashed "bit" from the show (only bits rehashed more than fourteen times will be eligible) and whether or not you have vacationed with Jeff in Ohio. Oh, and if FH has/or tried to date you when you called in to respond to a call for phone in participation, that's an extra credit point, if you give the details. If the incident is recent, as in during the time he was engaged to his "fiance" Moochie, that would get you an automatic elevator to the top floor.

Hey,
I was AWOL for about 24 hours, but am back, and haven't caught up here, of course.
What I have done is enable my PM. I PM'd transplant and myself, just to test it out.
I am going to be off the computer for a few hours, so if you PM me back, I won't read it for awhile.
Don't every one PM me at once.
I hope to read you on the other side.
And, by skimming (I promise to return to read) I will assign more number to new people. That will be my weekend assignment. Catching up, hitting the new board, assigning numbers. etc.
Have a great Friday, keep on postin'.

Hi -
My heart fell for a second when I couldn't find you guys on the other thread! I, too, have been a lurker ever since I had started listening online to them again after leaving SD about 4 years ago and learned that Jeff was getting re-re-remarried. Don't worry, I don't listen anymore! Not that I have to tell you this, but they really suck now! They have no chemistry at all and I feel badly for Delana, the only "normal" one there. LBM is sooooo jealous of her, it disgusts me.
You DC members were/ are my source of entertainment! I would love to know where the new site is if someone could please pass along that info to me. I saw DreamerGal's post but didn't want to PM without first posting here myself. Glad to be here. May I also have a number?

Hi... longtime lurker... too bad everyone has gone some where else to play. I've liked reading along and seeing how close you all are to so much of the truth. I found out about this site when my spouse told me about what happend to LBM from the very soon-to-be-ex of the alleged crystal meth/cocaine & vicodin addicted alcoholic. I googled her name after i heard the story in March... all of which has been pretty much said here before... all very much true about arrest, CMH, rehabs... but there is SO MUCH more the alleged meth/vicodin/alcoholic doesn't want u all to know. It seems like she thinks she has everyone fooled. Very very sad... All I have to say about her is Karma... what goes around comes around... she made this bed... what a sad life, her poor kids and soon-to-be ex. Her alleged offspring and my offspring attend the same learning institution and actually I have had one of my kids in the same class with hers since kindergarten.

Now doggone it. There are a bunch of us who think Bleach is a kind of perfume. Why didn't you ask us to scrub it out and clean it up, organize it and fold it properly? There are several of us who even clean our carpets monthly, just as a hobby. With the photo of Laura's hand on the website now, the bulk of us are driven to start building hermetically sealed against the onslaught of the microbes that will be the end of the world.
By the way, I haven't seen any essays...
see sack, I'm a little concerned about your heritage, there. Please stand up in front of the class and 'splain yourself. And don't leave out any incriminating details. My best friend and Paypal attorney have now formed an unholy alliance, and together, we are going to take over the world.
My sincere apologies for not informing you sooner, Carl, Esq. It was just such a good plan, I couldn't stop the wheels of progress. Maybe you can have first choice on the colors of your Imperial Robe and matching space shuttle?

The roll call list is blue/bold with a star for people who have checked in and/or requested numbers, and I am generous with those. I'm given out to everyone new, even if they don't ask.
I put dates Jan 10 and Jan 11 by some who were new on this thread. My next activity, it to first post this complete and official (so far) list to the yuku thread, and then add to it with all the yuku newbies, or reference there names.
See you on the other side!

I wouldn't eant my hubby's friends to know that I fed him a Niles Crane lunch during the Charger game....brie (which we both now hate), lobster pate', crackers and cut veggies. It was a holiday gift and I have to laugh as it is something the brothers on Frasier would eat. Now he is all excited about the game happenings, and since I don't understand football I guess I can just keep feeding him because I am of no use today.

He talks about how wonderful it is to go to a party and NOT indulge in alcoholic beverages. He sounds like he has to talk himself into this way of thinking every time it comes up. He also made a slight reference to other parties at which he overindulged. That sounds so NOT like him, right? NOT!
And he talks about how healthy he eats. (If that's not denial, I really don't know what is!)

Rejoice's tale has the ring of truth. Sad truth. LBM personal hygiene (unwashed days at work, the extension infection, etc) has long suggested a history of wasted days/wasted nights and her body has reacted to the abuse it takes many times in the past and even now. It seems like what seems like support she gets from FH and J/J only keeps her from really facing reality and any real prospect of a workable recovery.

Actually that infection could have been an innocent spider bite or scratch that just got a piece of dirt in it or something. I'm a very clean person, and as I type this, I have an infection on my ear. I bathe once, sometimes twice a day, wash my hands religiously, stay away from sick people and the like. It's not all that unusual to get an infection on the hand. It looks like it started out as a bug bite that she probably didn't even notice or feel, probably she scratched it or something, and it opened up...that's all it takes.
I'm not ready to jump on the bandwagon condemning the woman for an obviously painful and scary thing. I believe also that she is abstaining from pain killers in an effort to stay sober and I personally think that should be applauded, not mocked.

What kind of support can she possibly get from Tubby? He's an alcoholic/addict, too. She's just so caught up in the "big deal of me" attitude, that she can't put her kids first, and craves situations where she can be fawned upon by people who "know" how "imporant" she really is.
What a waste of space. Her poor children. But lucky for them, they have their Dad. Hopefully, he'll brush himself off, start dating, and find a truly decent woman to influence those children. All kids need a mom and a dad. Unfortunately, unless Dave gets re-married, I don't see those kids having any mom to speak of. She's a fun lady to see once in a while who's a very bad influence on them, and who Charlie obviously knows he has to protect his little sister from.
I know I'm overly angry at her and it kind of perplexes me how such an insignificant being can get so deep under my skin, but it really pisses me off how she took everyone and everything she had for granted. She had every opportunity, and she had a WONDERFUL life with a husband who absolutely doted on her. She made choices to turn her back on all that was good in her life. She had the resources to take care of any psychological issues, but chose to self-medicate instead. SHE threw it all away. Now, she's still trying to point the finger and blame everybody else.
I had very little of what she had, yet I was able to find contentment and focus in my life, understanding how precious my kids really are. (I know, I know ... she always calls them her "precious babies" ... but does anybody believe she knows how truly precious they are? She sure doesn't treat them as if they are.)
LBM, take a long look in your cupboard. Get the tallest glass you can find and pour yourself a glass of GROW THE HELL UP!!!

SDGirl, how MANY infections have you had in the past ... oh, say ... two years? How many of those ended you up in the hospital? Hmmmmmm ... yes, it looks painful. At 40 years old, though, I would have expected the dimwit to recognize an infection and not have to be prodded to go to the doctor.
If she's truly avoiding the painkillers, more power to her. I just have a hard time taking anything she says as gospel truth. Call me crazy, I don't think she puts a premium on honesty.

Amen DreamerGal!! I get so mad whenever I hear (ok read because I don't listen to them just read her diary) her complain about how little time she has or how DaveCain didn't take his vows as serious as she did I want to scream. Does she really truly believe that she is the victim here? How does her family treat her I wonder, do they let her believe that she is not at fault. I know my family would totally be calling me out if I were to behave like she has. I wonder now if this is why she had no relationship with her brother for so long. If I am remembering correctly he was pretty much absent from her life for some time. Who could blame him.
The sad part is, I believe she truly does love her kids. I just don't think she loves them in a healthy way or as a mother truly does. I think she loves them because she feels like she is supposed to and that is how she wants everyone to see her, as a loving mother. Ha, what a joke. I do think she truly loved DaveCain but was willing to throw it all away for some fun that she should have given up a long time ago.

I don't think she has it in her at this point to love anything like a mother loves her children. I know not all mothers love their children the same, but the mother love I'm talking about is what happened to me when I had my kids.
All the priorities I had in life up until then faded in comparison to THEM. I started driving slower, I started thinking about choices I had in relation to how they would affect THEM. It wasn't just one or two things that changed. EVERYTHING changed. Life took on new meaning. My piddly complaints about whatever seemed ridiculous after THEY came into my life.
I just cannot fathom giving birth to a child and NOT having that happen. An abrupt 180 degree change from life as a single being to life as a mother. But there are those who are constitutionally incapable of putting anybody ahead of themselves (sort of borrowed from the Big Book of AA). I believe LBM is one of those people. Sad to say, and I don't mock in the slightest. But I don't think she has it in her to change. She may dry up and not drink alcohol, but I don't believe she will turn the microscope on herself and try to figure out what her part is in this whole fiasco of her life, and do what she needs to do to change herself.
This woman pisses me off more than she should be able to. Yet, I don't wish her sadness or heartache. I think I get so frustrated because the path seems to be right in front of her, and she steadfastly chooses to ignore and refuses to change. So, no SDGirl, I mock not. I just take the opportunity to point out what a dufus she is and ask how dumb can a person be?

I agree with everyone else...I just dont get how you are willing to give everything up in life just for a little booze and drugs...the worse part is the fact is that kids are involved...its even worse that Charlie has to protect his sister...I guarantee that was the last thing on my mind as a 7 year old..its sad and hopefully DC can raise the kids with a lot of love and teach them the difference between right and wrong...hopefully Laura can get her life in order and realize before its too late that her kids need a mom who is there for them...not just for fun but for discipline...it seems she is already struggling when she does try to be a parent...it may be rough at first but the kids will accept it in time...
And there is no excuse to let any infection get so bad you end up in the emergency room...common sense would have made her get it checked out, better safe then sorry....I think she is just lazy and couldn't make the time to go to the Dr's because whatever tv show was on....its sad...I really do feel for people who revolve their plans around the tv...there is so much to life then a tv show...at least get dvr...we know she can afford dvr...I can afford dvr, so she 100% can.

And there is no excuse to let any infection get so bad you end up in the emergency room...common sense would have made her get it checked out,
I can say that I'm a common sensed, level headed person. I deal with emergencies (even life threatening emergencies) in a calm cool collected manner.
When our son got the MRSA, it started out as "it felt like a bug or spider bit me" around 2 pm on a school day. It was a small red dot. Within 12 hours, it had enlarged and became red...but then again, no blister like formation on the top. I was giving him benedryl and keeping it covered.
Within 24 hours of the initial bite, it looked similar to LBM first picture and we were at urgent care immediately! With general antibiotics, in another 24 hours, it progressed to the new picture that is on JJ's website. This time (the day the fires started) we were at childrens hosp. being put in an isolation room. This is a fast moving staph and only the correct antibiotics work.
Altho we spent some time in the hospital and on a 14 day x 4 a day antibiotic, we had within one week to start the oral antibiotics all over again because the healed wound site started festering again.

Hi all, since we're not allowed to cut and paste LBM's diary here anymore, I haven't searched to see if anyone's mentioned Friday's entry?
Where she says, "diary, I'm holding so much in-SO MUCH!" (allegedly) does this mean she has tons to say, but can't because of the divorce proceedings? Or that she wishes she could tell us more, but can't because of the powers that be at the radio station?
I know I should do a quick search, so I will, but I had to get that question off my chest, "what is she implying?"

I agree dreamergal...I think it'd be easier to tell that a wound on yourself isn't right more than a child...thank goodness this happened to Laura and not one of her children...i cannot even imagine what could have happened....of course we'd all like to think in these sort of situations we'd go to the doctors but maybe in actuality we wouldnt...kinda like during finals week I had a cold and then a cough that didnt go away...I self-diagonsed myself as having bronchitis...I should have went to the dr's but life was so busy for me, finals, graduating, family coming to town and I never did...thankfully i got better and never got worse...but that thing on Laura's hand would have made me go to the dr's...

It is sad...but it is difficult for us to understand why she did what she did because we are not addicts. I am sure her children are also acting up because of their separation so it does not help her case. Just so sad.
About the infection...I just saw on the news regarding that skin condition and how it is spreading around. People confuse it with a bug bite and go for a while untreated, but turns out to be something worse...Yikes.

Two comments, Sheens.
First, LBM has had staph infections before. The most notorious being on her head, which she blamed on her extensions. (I didn't buy it then and I don't buy it now. It was probably another case of meth picking.) Anyway, she's been through this before. Wouldn't you think she'd have a little more interest in avoiding the pain and hassle? (This is another reason I think she might have been going deliberately for the pain medication ... she's been there before ... she knows staph!)
Second, you are in your early 20's, right? I give you a little more leeway than I do LBM. LBM is twice your age. She has more life experience and especially more experience with infections (you might just call her the Pus Princess of Kensington). I would excuse a college kid for ignoring signs way more than I would a mother of two. She just refuses to grow up.
I think Transplant is right ... LBM is REE TAHHHHH DUD!.

Addict or not, she still makes choices. No excuses. She's in charge of herself. And, she's supposedly sober, so absolutely no excuses. If she is following a program in AA, she should have a sponsor and she should have, by now, conducted a "moral inventory" of herself, in which she lists all the crappy things she's done and who she's hurt. Then she takes the next step which is to apologize to all those she's hurt, except when to do so would harm them or others. I doubt she's progressed this far. It's still someone else's fault.
Also, she said her finger is a staph infection. Not a skin condition. Cleanliness would help her alot!

I don't think she has it in her at this point to love anything like a mother loves her children. I know not all mothers love their children the same, but the mother love I'm talking about is what happened to me when I had my kids.
All the priorities I had in life up until then faded in comparison to THEM. I started driving slower,
Yes, well, sadly I can state firsthand that LBM does not drive slowly. I live nearby in PQ (but have never driven by THE house, just wanted to make that clear) and have spotted her once or twice as she passed me, driving WAY too fast.
I just cannot fathom giving birth to a child and NOT having that happen. An abrupt 180 degree change from life as a single being to life as a mother.
Absolutely. Well, I didn't give birth to my children but the change was as profound and from that moment on life was no longer all about me me me, like it seems to be for LBM
I keep hoping I'm wrong about her! Just doesn't seem to be the case, does it?

"Giving birth" is a term -- that's all. It is not defined by vaginal or Cesarean section. Neither one of you "offends."
30% of all births are C-section.....those women "gave birth!"
In my simple world, having a knife carve out flesh and muscle to remove a fetus is "taking birth." "Giving" or "Taking"....both are absolute miracles!!
My hat is off to anyone that does this --- as is often said, if men "gave birth" humans would be extinct.

Jake, to clarify what I think NewerReader and DreamerGal mean, being a mom has really nothing to do with birthing. It has to do with mothering, no matter how a mother's child came to be hers. Just as being a real father has nothing to do with the fact a man spawned a child. I'm even remembering that perhaps you posited that concept before....?

If you nurture the kid's of a mom whose "strung-out" or an "addict," ....you are a mom. Period. A mother is a natural OR social female parent.

Oh Dreamer Gal, no offense taken, at all! It's just that when I wrote that I "absolutely" agreed with you I thought I should clarify how my experience differed instead of implying that it was all the same.
I wish LBM would parent her children. It makes me sad and angry when I read yet another example of how she hasn't; that once again she's squandered this precious gift that she's been given. Three years of being a no-show at school? That's a long time in the life of a child, and it's now gone...poof, forever.
I wouldn't be able to live with that regret. I guess that's why it still shocks me to read about her bad choices.

Hopefully this has not been beaten too long, but I think the deal with LBM...as is with a lot of notably male sperm donors...like the ones that miraculously all of a sudden fall in love once they find out the child IS theirs on Maury Povich....
there's something in us humans that look at our children as a part of ourselves...an extension of ourselves.
Some parents don't get past that. Their kid is the best looking, the best at everything, a total reflection of what they wish THEY (the parents) were.
LMB and FH, to me--are those kinds of parents. Their children are a reflection of themselves. They don't get into parenting to help the child grow and develop into what the child can be according to their own interests. These kids are playmates, equals, entertainment centers, excuses for praise, for the adult. They give them an excuse to brag, an excuse to redo all the things that "didn't go right" in their own childhood. And notoriously, these things are along the linds of "IF I had just had more toys at Xmas," or "If I had just had a chance to play football at an earlier age, and I had a Dad who could work with me and help me become a star quarterback..." ok, maybe I'll let him be a "star skateboarder!!!" and have him meet Tony Hawkes...IF I HAD BEEN ABLE TO DO THESE LITTLE THINGS, everything would be different for me, so I want to make it happen for my kid.

I would never walk a mile in her shoes. They're probably dirty and smelly. But seriously, I understand everybody has their own cross to bear. I would be more sympathetic toward LBM if she exhibited a desire to change and a willing to sacrifice. Not there. I believe in Karma, and I think (unfortunately for her) LBM's Karma is just warming up.
I do not wish her ill will and I always hope for the best for her. She's making her life what it is, though, and I don't have a lot of sympathy for her.

I think it's prolonged by the change in barometric pressure. I know I've suffered over the past two weeks from sinus conditions which seem to be exacerbated when it gets overcast and rainy. We're going between dry, dry Santa Ana conditions and rain storms. That's hard on the sinuses. Drink hot tea (with honey if you have a sore throat), suck the lozenges (I like Halls Black Cherry sugar free with Mentholyptus), keep warm, stay GLUED to the computer, watch lots of movies, and get BETTER!
