... It's not about the board, it's about the people.
EXACTLY!
...Everyone who found a way to entertain themselves with page turning and spanish would have done the same thing here, since there was no fodder.
You give a compelling justification for having two viable boards. While waiting for fodder, one can (a) turn pages, speak spanish, flirt, chat, etc., or (b) wait in relative silence. It's a choice we now have.

As for the poster with inside info, take it with a grain of salt (or a whole canister). The wound of the Sunny/Surfin Texan fiasco is still sore. Sure they checked out this poster carefully, but we were told the same was done about Sunny and her family and friends.
Respectfully, this is an untrue statement. At no time did anyone say that the Sunnie story was checked out before posting. It all unfolded, in Sunnie's own words and writings. When things turned dire, I was asked to be the spokesperson for the family, which I did. This has been verified by many different people who were present when that request was made of me.
What WAS checked out was behind the scenes and done without public notification based on suspicions that several of us had. When we were able to confirm that it was in fact a hoax, we (I) came immediately to the board and laid out the facts as we knew them. The reason for keeping it private was in case we were wrong. In no way did we want to smear anyone's good name or call anyone out unless and until we were 100% positive of what we knew.
Since I personally am the one who was receiving the phone calls, emails and IM's, and the one who personally checked Sunnie's story by actually going to the hospital, I think that I'm qualified to speak on this particular matter. NO ONE was more hurt by this situation than I was. NO ONE. I was the one getting the 4:00 a.m. phone calls (want to see my phone records??). I was the one getting the desperate emails. I was the one who was speaking on behalf of this family, at their request. Bearing that in mind, it would be unimaginable for me to even begin to put myself into another similar situation, much less align myself with something that I wasn't 100% certain of.
As for the guest on the Yuku board, there will people who believe it and people who won't. The 3 YUMS are 100% certain that it is 100% accurate and that the source is 100% unimpeachable. We would never have gotten behind it otherwise. Take that for what it's worth.
All I ask is that when things are being said about me, that facts be used, instead of half truths and innuendo.

I will not be listening to them, however I heard Rick & Jen's teaser for the J&J showgram for today, apparently they are all sharing secrets (right about now) but the kick is they are not sharing who the secret belongs too....
I think it was all a set up for something about Randy...apparently he has a juicy secret...I vote Debbie is preggers...

My Valentines day will be spent with one of my friends...we will be going to a romantic dinner and then seeing the new Ryan Reynolds (so dreamy) romantic comedy, Definetely, Maybe!
I am meeting my boyfriend on my lunch break to see him. I work 7-4 and he works 1-10 so we are going to Panera Bread for lunch....and maybe we will eat by the fireplace in the resturant to make it extra romantic. haha
Isn't Debbie too old to have kidlets?
Carol
02-14-2008, 08:04 AM
Someone more into this may be able to answer better, but I belive that she is not at all too old to have kiddos as she is quite a bit younger than Randy. Randy would be on the older side I think..
Everyone is welcome to come sunggle by our fireplace :) We have some different types of cheeses (tripple brie, Chedder with carmalized onion and a odd cheese, that stinks. It is made with morrocan spices it is very tasty thought) You may need to bring your own wine though..we only have one bottle..

I haven't heard the secrets but the whole idea of it is ridiculous to me. They'll make up secrets so listeners will feel like they can relate to the big deals on the radio.
I didn't hear that Randy's was juicy so the whole bit was probably created just so he can reveal that he is finally getting married or having a baby, etc. but they had to make it seem like they all have secrets that they would actually share on air.

Yeah, but just think, if you were really into the show and driving around in your suv, and your kids were zoned out watching their DVDs in the car and your FAV radio show was airing their dirty laundry and you didnt know any better...I could see how it would keep those people entertained.
I don't really buy into any radio stations "bits" anymore. However, Some are better than others *ahem* the mikey show...sans ashley.

Your right Debbie is younger than Randy..I forgot they aren't the same age!
I don't buy into a lot of what I hear anymore...especially when it comes to radio personalities, celebs, and well basically anyone in the spotlight. If stuff is true so be it but I'd say 65%-75% of the stuff we hear about people is false...of course this is me making up percentages (but I'm good at it).
But I will share this...yesturday on my way to work on the radio station here the morning dj's were sharing their worse Valentines day stories and the girl on the show said she went on a date with this guy to Olive Garden and they ended up getting dinner and drinks, and then her date ran into some friends at Olive Garden and bought them drinks...or so she thought...when the bill came the guy made the dj pay for the meal, their drinks, and his friends drinks...the tab ended up being over a 100 dollars...I think this story was pre her radio days too...not that dj's make a ton of money as it is...you have to be a pretty big deal to get paid the big bucks...just thought I'd share the story...I would have been pissed if that happened to me.

Here's the 6 secrets to match up. They are taking callers guesses until someone matches up perfectly. If I'm still near the radio when they reveal I'll post it.
1. I have had liposuction from Dr. Bucko twice.
2. I made love on Jeff's bed.
3. I had a one night stand with a guest from Survivor.
4. I've grown up a lot since then, but a long time ago I cheated on someone I loved twice in one week with two different people.
5. I am unhappy in my relationship.
6. I don't know why, but I have a feeling I might not be alive this time next year.

Okay I have another stupid question. I will limit it to one a day:
When someone owns a working cattle farm, what is the goal of their job. What does one do at a cattle farm (other than farm cattle of course). Are the cows being raised for slaughter, if so, why do they put so much effort into the cattle? Or is their another purpose?
my question stems from reading this blog:

I think #4 is the tubster, only that is according to his amazing mathematical calculations.
"I've grown up a lot since then" actually means it happened last week.
"Two different people in one week" actually means AT LEAST two of the women he met at the mile of men dinner or some similar event.

That's my random question for the day....
Carol

Whole wheat flour is better for you, but I am not sure how it translates into recipes. Meaning, I have made whole wheat sourdough bread and regular whole wheat bread using the same recipe. However, I dont know how it works to substitue whole wheat flour into somehting like choclate chip cookies for example.

I drink Two Buck Chuck exclusively for my daily 1-2 glasses after work (for health!)It's quite a decent wine except I do not like the Merlot or Chardonnay at all. The Cabernet Sauvignon is the best followed by the Shiraz and Beaujolais. The Sauvignon Blanc is also quite decent.

On the other thread, someone with access to LBM's (publicly recorded) deposition clarified that LBM herself confessed to "multiple affairs during the marriage, one of them with a woman." Since she has been married since 1991 and Survivor first aired in 2000, I think it is safe to say the Survivor affair did happen while she was married.

Did that guest speaker really say they had access to her deposition transcript? I don't recall him/her saying that. I remember him/her saying that Laura admitted at her deposition that she had several affairs, but the guest speaker could have heard that second hand, for example, from DC or someone else.
Deposition transcripts are not automatically and not usually public record and are not usually filed with the court. If there was a reason that her transcript had to be filed with the court, I would bet it would be filed under seal so that only authorized court personnel, like the judge, could see it and the general public could not access it.

Whole wheat is definitely more nutritious. I recommend starting out with half regular and half whole wheat. I use whole wheat often in all sorts of baked goods, including cookies. The baked good will be a little denser, a little heavier, with a little more nutty taste. If you are used to light fluffy baked goods it may take some getting used to, but the extra nutrition is worth it!

Call me a sceptic but I don't understand why someone would allow themselves to be background checked (how was it done and who paid for it?) just to post a message on a message board full of people they don't know, so that those strangers believe they are credible?

Well I'm still not sure about this "guest speaker" who posted on the other side...I'm not sure what they said but based on the few things people have posted here I don't understand why they would post information about someone else either....did the "guest speaker" on the other board contact one of the yums or did one of the yums contact the "guest speaker"? And someone did a background check on this person? Maybe I'm confused (which when am I not anymore?) but how would doing a background check prove the information they are giving out? It would prove the identity I realize but it still doesn't make the information reliable. Regardless, it seems distasteful that someone would give personal information out about someone else and also distasteful that others would share that information...no offense to anyone. And I won't tend to believe something until it comes out of Laura's mouth and its still questionable at that point...
And Chatty Cathy is right, if that was sealed information and they released information from it, no wonder they aren't giving their name out...that is against the law...
Thanks for the tip about the wheat flour...it was a VERY random question...I just was looking through a magazine yesturday when I saw an ad for wheat flour and wondered about it...anyways HAPPY FRIDAY everyone!!!!!!:)

Allegedly, Carl.
Oh more or less what I meant is that did the one night stand happen before the contestant ever appeared on Survivor...like say the one night stand happened in the 90s and then the person was on Survivor in 2001..it would technically be a Survivor contestant she had a fling with, just way before Survivor ever aired...far fetched I know...

From what the YUMS stated this person contacted them. I can't think of any other way to confirm someone's credibility other than doing a background check (maybe I watch too much law and order lol)
I just thought it was odd......

It is odd...I mean a background check helps because you can confirm someone's identity at the least...but...with the way people are now-a-days just cause their identity is proven how can you confirm 100% that the information is correct that this person is giving you? You have to assume that what they are saying is correct. Maybe what the person is saying and events we know to be true like Laura's rehab stint could align the persons story but it doesn't necessairly make it correct...I still maintin you don't know the real story unless you are there to witness it first hand and then have some kind of documentation to prove things...
I personally don't care who Laura has or hasn't slept with...if she cheated on Dave its sad that she didn't take her marriage seriously. It's sad she let alcohol and drugs ruin her life and now she has nothing to show for herself but rumors being spread online about her and her actions. And I call them rumors because until Laura, Dave, or an attorney confirms this information to be true they are rumors...I understand that when you are in the spotlight anything you say or do is going to be scrutinized...but...I guess in this case in the scheme of things Laura is a local radio personality...where I live you never hear drama about the dj's personal lives..probably because nobody cares. Laura isn't an Angelina Jolie so I guess I dont get the fascination behind all these new allegations someone told the Yums.
I'm sure there have been tons of local personalities in San Diego who have done similar things but their stories are ignored...maybe my question for the day is this....
What is the fascination with Laura and her actions and these new speculations that have been told during the week?
I feel kind of bad for her...whoever released this news to the Yums is obviously someone who knows her and is trying to make things in life more difficult. Its sad she doesn't have a stronger support system around her. I recogonize she put this on herself but assuming this "guest speaker" is someone who knows Laura its sad they would tell random people about the information in the deposition. Sure she is shallow but she is trying to make some sort of change in her life...what's past is past so I find it odd someone would still try to ruin what little is left to Laura's reputation. I'm not a Laura fan by any means but she is taking little itty bitty, extremely small steps to improve her life and I'm sure if she even read what people said about her on the internet it could make her relapse...it seems like she has insecurity issues...just saying..

No official background check was done. We checked into it by looking at different information that was provided. This person contaced us initially by email. Not hotmail or Yahoo. Work email. That was number one. They provided phone numbers. That was number two. Work and cell by the way. This person was already known as being "in the loop" as far as the whole LC ordeal goes. All we had to do was verify this person was in fact who they were claiming to be on first contact, and we did that.
Also, the poster contacted us, we did not contact them. They'd been to this board and the other board. They contacted us through email and not PM. (All of us have our email info either in the profile or posted on the boards).
So there you go. You know longer have to speculate on that part of it.

Did they explain the motivation or intentions when they contacted you with this information? I mean can you understand why a few of us find it odd? Someone being in the loop I'd think would try to go out of their way to keep any personal information about the marriage and the information in the deposition hush hush....if it is one of Dave's friends let's say then you would think he/she would want to protect Dave, same if it was one of Laura's friends...I just don't understand why someone would release the information rather then trying to protect the family...or maybe I'm just completely out of whack with my thinking...

I know exactly what you are saying. While I'm not a fan of the way most on the spewgram run their private lives and how they put their personal issues out there for all to judge, I think it's terrible that someone felt the need to post information that can never really be verified by ANYONE other than LC/DC. I would think that what was posted constitues defamation but I'm not a lawyer. I know if someone were to post something like that about me I would do everything in my power to have it removed. So much has been said about karma lately, know what I mean?

What if LC hears of the posts and contacts her attorney? Does it worry you that since you know who this person is you may have to reveal that information? Isn't this kind of thing the reason the other board was created? I'm just wondering.

Especially someone who is "in the loop"...I don't understand what satisfaction they are gaining from exposing these allegations. I just couldn't imagine someone going around the internet spreading rumors about me...and know its someone I personally had connections with, it'd be hard to deal with....I really hope Laura doesn't read the stories on either of these boards...I'm sure she already has to deal with her actions on a day to day basis when she goes home to an empty home with no kids, or husband to greet her...to me that would be a daily reminder of the mistakes I have made in my life....I imagine her life is very pitiful when her kids aren't around.

I had a marvelous Valentines Day...I was smitted by the end of my date. LOL...I was with my girlfriend but it was probably my favorite Valentines Day yet...it was great catching up with one of my best friends that soon I won't have the privilage of seeing whenever I want...
I'm glad you San Diegans had a dose of what most of my week has been like...dealing with the horrid frozen doors...hopefully nobody had a door handle fall off...I thought I would end up breaking mine off on Tuesday I was trying so hard to open my door...thankfully I'm weak so that never happened! haha

I'm guessing that this person is emotionally involved in the LC/DC situation, and since only one side of the story is being heard publicly, this person felt the need to express the other side of the story to get it off his/her chest. The best place to air a grievance? The J&J Drama Club site, where the majority of people are not LC lovers. Perhaps because the emotions are running so high, this person was not thinking clearly enough to keep quiet. Just a theory...

My guess is that the mystery poster is someone in DC's camp and has chosen to reveal this info. because LC's atty. is going to use every trick to try and smear DC's name. Maybe the mystery poster just wanted to get the truth out there before everything blows up publicly. (just my thoughts)

I mean that could be the case but if someone from Dave's camp is trying to get the truth out shouldn't he go to the courts and such? I just don't understand why Dave or Laura would care what is being said about them...they have other issues that should be more important...instead of trying to smear each others name how bout they worry about the kids they have together and giving them a good upbringing despite the damage that has been done to the family..
I just don't see how this information is positive for DC or LC. It just seems like instead of taking steps to move forward with the divorce and healing the wounds that have been caused someone is trying to stir the pot and create drama....
Once the kids get older how good will it look if say Charlie learns his dad or one of his dads friends went to an internet website that bashes his mom to reveal she has been with men and woman and whatever else while married...it just can't be looked at in a positive light. Maybe good intentions are with the guest speaker but its hard to believe that...just seems like someone seeking revenage with the information they know...

"What is the fascination with Laura and her actions and these new speculations that have been told during the week?"
iamsheens: As to your comment above, I think it's obvious that most people who visit this or the Yuku site are reading/participating because they get something out of snarky comments and watching/commenting on peoples lives who seem to be a train wreck. The dirtier, nastier the better for some people. I'm not putting you in that category, just so we're clear.
Some of the downright nasty mean comments I think are uncalled for and I've said before that I am not Laura's biggest fan, but with her as anyone else who has addictions etc. I say walk a mile in their shoes before you start throwing stones. She deserves a chance as does anyone who struggles with life issues.
My take on the guest poster is that sure it could be someone on the inside loop as the Yums have gone to great efforts to convince us. But, just because guest poster is in the loop doesn't mean that what they're saying is true. I say consider the source and anything they say should be treated as only speculation and rumor. It seems underhanded and downright mean like someone who has a personal axe to grind, and definitely not someone I would want to call a friend.

Sheens,if both parents are going for full custody, as it *appears* they are, the attorneys are going to drag out every bit of ammunition against the opposing party that they can. Dc's atty. obviously has a pretty good case already, so LC's atty. (who is said to be a "dirty fighter in the ring") would pull out all the stops to try and make DC look like an equally bad parent. Any small infraction, even if it was from 20 years ago would be exaggerated and distorted on a level that only low-life attorneys stoop to. If these things are to made public then perhaps the mystery poster's intentions are to try to counter what might come out before the event.

And I know that I don't say totally hateful things...I will criticize heavily on them and be disguisted with the way they live their lives but I will never be spiteful and take it to the degree I've seen it being taken too.
I realize that no one has a personal connection to the showgram so its not our responsibility to protect anyone but if someone came to me with that information there is no way I'd ever share it...even if it was true. If its true and someone wanted it released then Laura and Dave would release it themselves...not saying that what the Yums did was wrong I'm just saying if it were me, I wouldn't have said anything...I realize they are actual people and what gets said about them will affect the family and especially the kids.

Maybe the mystery person DID tell family, friends, attorney's, etc what he/she knows. But LBM has a huge platform to spew her "whoa is me. i was sick with alcoholism, it's not my fault, my husband didn't take his vows seriously, i am a loving parent" for the world to see. What does DC have? Who hears his side? I'm guessing it was a friend of DC (or him?) who was just sick and tired of hearing all of the partial truths on the air and wanted to give another perspective. No, we'll really never know exactly what happened because we weren't there.
Either you believe it or you don't. To me, there's tons of motivation for putting a message like that out there. It's obvious. LBM created this mess. There are consequences to her actions, the spilling of her own damn dirt.

well your points are true and valid. Your also absolutely correct...again it just seems odd that this mystery person would go to people aren't Laura fans to tell the real story. To me, I think the people who would actually change the perspective they have of Laura from good to bad are the listeners, those soccer moms who tune in every morning...it would be a shock to them to hear sweet Laura cheated on her husband.
I don't think anyone has anything to prove to us, we already don't listen to the show because of how they are...if someone is going to try and set the record straight why not hit her listeners, they are the reason she makes the big bucks. If they stop listening to her because of how she used to live her life then the sponsors pull out and eventually she has no job...
Going to a place she is already disliked to make points of what was said in her deposition is just going to create problems and could end up backfiring...
I thought Laura didn't talk about her divorce on the radio?
And if people who listen really fall for the woe is me, I was an alcoholic tactic then thats lame. It sucks she had alcohol and drug issues and it sucks that she couldn't accept responsibility and not seek treatment before she was forced into rehab, and it sucks that Dave left her before, during or after rehab but if someone is feeling sorry for Laura then they really shouldn't. Everything she has done with her life she has done to herself...

I knew what you meant, but considering how young most of the survivors are, it is less likely that she would have hooked up with one ten years before the show aired, as most of them would have been teenagers in 1990, LOL.
ETA: Plus, why would she waste her time hooking up with someone who wasn't a BIG DEAL?

Willow:"The anonymous poster could easily be someone with no personal connection to either person, but has "knowledge" of the situation."
Red, I believe the poster said things like, "we thought", and "we hoped" which indicates, to me, a personal connection. But again, that's speculation on my part.
Sheens....you are one of the few people I "know" who can sit firmly on both sides of the fence without knowing what's happening on the other side! :) :) :)
LOL THANKS. I'll take that a compliment, I guess...I'm very clueless anymore since I'm only reading what's here and have no idea what is on the other side of the fence.
I can always see all sides to a situation. I understand why someone could go and release this information for many of reasons everyone has proved to me but then I still can't believe someone would do it...its like I'm playing tug of war with myself and everytime I'm closer to defeat the other side puts up a fight again. haha

It's not like the mystery person could call STAR and get on the radio to tell the other side of the story. Where else could they have a forum with a captive audience? I dunno, maybe there are J&J Rock! forums out there.
She doesn't "talk about her divorce" directly but she says things here and there on her diary. Little comments. Stuff like... I got my life on track, then he left me... Not likely how it really went down.

Going to a place she is already disliked to make points of what was said in her deposition is just going to create problems and could end up backfiring...
Could it be because the drama threads have a much wider "audience" than just people who dislike the show?

Yeah I'm sure there is no way that Dave can tell his side to the story. That's why I don't understand why he wouldn't tell family and close friends and let the rest of san diego think what they want...I just don't see how anyone could look at the basics of her story and be like "How could her husband give up on the relationship." HaHa, in all fairness I know plenty of women who poke at how their husbands or ex-husbands dress their children.
I do agree that she does take jabs though...that example just cracked me up because when my husband and I take care of children who need their outfits picked out for them, he always chooses the WORST possible outfit. The shorts that are a size too small and too tight in the thighs, shirts with a red paint stain, etc.
I am kinda confused about why Dave would need to tell/get his side of the story out at all (again, I dont know what was said in the other realm). For the most part except some public jabs Laura does keep juicy details underwraps. I think that court/legal documents speak for themselves when it comes to a trial. I doubt that Laura has a chance at full custody with her rehab track record and Dave being the full time, stable parent for ~ the past year. Even if Dave is not the saint many people think he is he has still been a stable and consistent pillar for the children and seemingly not been to rehab.

I agree though I don't understand what Dave needs to prove to anyone...given the substantial evidence out there that Laura has revealed on her own, I think its safe to say he has nothnig to worry about as far as how people would percieve him...

Oh Jon and Kate. I watched the whole season while I was puppysitting. Towards the end we were cracking up because Jon just seems to beaten down. Their older twins crack me up, they are so well spoken!
I guess I give her the benifit (that can not be the proper spelling..)of a doubt, because I think all those divorced women out there in san diego are getting a good laugh and relating to their ex who does the exact same thing. I just take what she says as a way of playing her "character" on the show. Someone needs to reach out to all those women...and Jeff and his touchy feely character can only goes so far :). I would also think, assuming Dave is who people assume he is, he would be just fine knowing that she is making these jabs out of frustration and anger and accepting that there may be no truth to what she says or she is making it up for the radio and he believes that the judge will have the final say and see he has been the stability for the children. Assuming he has been.

Carol..I think you're ok posting that pic...here's what GAM had to say when we were shut down:
Here is an update to the rules to avoid having this entire section of the forum shut down:
Feel free to talk smack about the radio personalities. They can't do jack about that. But absolutely NO MORE posting personal information about anyone like there was in the other thread. No pictures, no addresses or phone numbers, no websites other than the radio station ones. No maps to their houses.
The other thread may be edited and moved back. We'll have to talk it over in the backend and see how best to handle it. If you want to start a new thread without all the extra stuff, feel free. Then if the old thread is moved back, we can merge them.
Thank you.

Not everyone can read between the lines and see that there really is no Wizard, just a short guy behind a curtain with a microphone. People believe what the want to believe and hear what they want to hear. It's like that quote (and I don't know who said it) "No one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public." That certainly applies to their pool of listeners.

Red, I believe the poster said things like, "we thought", and "we hoped" which indicates, to me, a personal connection. But again, that's speculation on my part.
Sometimes you can be a helpless spectator. You aren't really a player in the drama, but you witness the fallout. I can think of all sorts of people that would have regular contact, but not really be "part" of the situation.
But yeah, all speculation.
The way I see it, LPMO (I've upgraded her from LBM) is an addict. She continues to act the way an addict does....never owning up to her behavior.
She has an advantage, in that she is a "celebrity" and has access to a PR machine. Now, maybe the SD Family spread was something the station told her to do, to polish her image, maybe her agent thought it was a good idea. Either way...it's PR. She uses her children as part of her schtick. It's not just what she posts in her diary - she is shilling for Sylvan using her son!!!
So, my opinion wasn't changed by an anonymous post...LPMO sealed the deal.

Thats a good point...granted anything Tommy does now he doesn't have to face Danelle about it...its sad that no matter how they act good or bad it will end up reflecting the children and at the rate they are going it will all be negative reflections...I guess when you are a big deal though you have no consideration to how your actions will affect your children...I'd be absolutely mortified to be Vanessa or Eddie...teenagers aready have enough issues just getting through the tweeday to day events of being in that awkward phase in life, I couldn't imagine having a dad on the radio telling all of San Diego everything I do....

Maybe he doesn't have to face Danelle, (and it would appear that she prefers not to have to look at him anyway), but that doesn't mean that she has no recourse or wouldn't take action, nor does it mean that he's not accountable for anything he puts out there about the children.

I can give those statments as much weight as I give anything written on this board. :)
It's just my personal opinion, mostly based on dairy entries. Of course I see the problem with the validity of this source however, when was the last time she mentioned helping out in her childs class room before rehab? She has shown that she continues to go to meetings, seek help from her sponsor and stay on a sober path. I see that as improvment (FOR HER). Its just my personal opinion I am not pro Laura, just pro possible sobriety and picking up the pieces after rehab, and keeping it up while paying for your mistakes.

When Laura writes in her diary that she is going to meetings, helping out in the classroom, and seeking help from her sponsor, is she not still "In character" and making it all up for the radio? How do we tell the difference between "radio character Laura" and "genuine, sincere Laura"?

I just suck at putting my thoughts into words, and I will continue to suck at trying to clarify what I was trying to say.
I think you make a great point, How do we know what is radio character Laura and what is "real" Laura? Because I dont think any of us do. So, When she does something like make a jab at Dave Cain in a public way. We see her personality through our own personal lens. We don't know what is true, embellished or a flat out lie for the sake of trying to get more listeners. She puts her diary out there and we get to make our own judgements and assumptions about it through our own personal lens.
I will never say for a fact that she is improving. As I said, in my own personal opinion I think she has made *some* minor changes in her life (except for the assumed sobriety)and my only way of knowing it is the diary that we read and I make my own judgements through and as I said, I see the obvious problems with making my assumptions based on her diary. However, it really is my only source. My personal lens which tends to be on the more positive side, and tends to assume people's intentions are positive makes me think that she is trying to do better, however I say that fully knowing she could be writting that she is going to see her sponsor and really she is going to kick back, do a line of coke, while drinking shots of whisky off of some girls chest.
Everything that is said by a radio personality I take with a grain of salt. They need people to listen, they need characters that people can relate too and they need a focus. I do not think I know one gosh darn thing about these people but only make assumptions based on the information they give out and my personal lens.
There may be no truth what-so-ever to what she says, and part of it may be to hook the people who her character was intended to hook. I pointed out the obvious problem with making judgements off that diary....I guess I just dont see the point you were trying to make. I have never been one to assume what they wrote/said was factual. I believe it should all be taken with a grain of salt, while keeping in mind they are meerly characters who do keep some of their private life private...or try too.

You are right Carol.....and I agree that we all judge others by our own standards, personal lens, etc. Everyone has their own take on things and I think you've made some great points too.
I'm sorry if anything I've said has caused you to take umbrage..I hope not. I think I'm too focused on semantics instead of looking at the bigger picture. :)

Not to mention the husband is re-doing our bathroom, and I need to do something to avoid being the gopher!

Good morning everyone...hope everyone have a fabulous Saturday...I will be spending the day with my boyfriends grandparents, whenever they get here...just sitting here patiently waiting. maybe i will take this opportunity to read whats been going on with Laura this week...eh..maybe I better book a hotel for my move instead....hope everyone has a great day!

Well the weather ruined our lovely day we had planned sooo...I have time on my hands.
Laura's outfit is a step up from some of her other outfits she has worn in the past...a huge step up from the leggings with the sock look. This week's outfit looks like something a teenager would wear but it has an adult touch to it. The sweater is not my favorite but other than that I like the outfit. I didn't realize Wal-Mart sold fake converse either for $9.00, thats a steal.
Has anyone else noticed on the j and j website there is a picture of Tommy with Eddie and Vanessa? I thought he wasn't allowed to post pictures of the kids on the site...or was that just speculation? I would like to give Eddie a haircut
Well on Fridays diary I am glad to see Laura is going to help out with Charlie's class but I don't like how she is doing it "for the kid" It'd be better if she was doing it because she wanted to be with Charlie. Its also nice to see she is seeing her sponsor. I know we sometimes have thought she doesn't take her sobriety important but maybe she just doesn't write about it. Although if it was a big part of her life you would think it'd come up more.
Anyways I'm already bored spending so much time on her. I will say if anyone has any fascination with the Bermuda Triangle there is a great show on discovery channel called Dive to Bermuda Triangle its about unraveling the truth behind the Bermuda Triangle and if the theories that have been given over the years are true or not.
By the way does anyone know why on the j and j website there are pictures of John Mayer in the Borat outfit? Or rather why he is wearing the Borat outfit? I'm highly amused, but a little disturbed. haha

I am sorry I must be the dense one today, because.....
*I never made a move to suggest anything about another thread similar to this one in that post except to say this one is simple, which only makes sense because it is quiet, slow moving and only has a handful of people at this time.
RO(I very well could have misunderstood), was the one that suggested that zodaic's comment may have been about something other than the weather...I was just taking Z's comment at face value and assuming it was about the previous post, the weather. A simple infrence from someone on a simple thread* :)
I think it is time to stop assuming people have alterior motives, and let it go. :)

No hard feelings, hopefully all the way around, aye?
This is not refering to you specifically GaryBear, just as a general commentary. If people are going to say something about another board (the one you are refering to for example), I think it is best if everyone stops trying to point out what is wrong with what they (I am not sure who is saying what in this situation you are refering too) are trying to say, and let them say whatever they want with out pointing it out as being a "board war" if the situation is ignored, it goes away much faster than people pointing it out multiple times. If they want to carry on a negative manor, let them be a grouch it too shall pass (a nice lil throw back to Ms. Cain)
buuuttt....I guess the same could be said for people who make general commentaries on the topic they said should not be brought up multiple times:boxing:

It is a best of, and there was something KIINDDAAA intresting on (so I thought)
I dont know if anyone remembers when they allowed kids to call in and trash talk ther teachers basically, and everyone agreed that was amazingly disrespectful to allow children to do that.
Well, they had a girl call in with an apology to her teacher, for saying what she did.

The showgram agreed it was disrespectful for children to trash talk their teachers??? Duh....why did they ever think it was a good idea? I'm surprised this would be on the best of...then again none of the material they have is really considered "best of" material...

02-18-2008, 04:20 PM
I wouldn't go as far to say that they agreed it was disrespectful, but they did say it was very nice of the caller to have fessed up to what she did. (even though it was encouraged by adults in a position of "authortiy") The apology sounded like she got some help from perhaps an unhappy parent, or she may have hurt the teacher, who may have been listening and the parent helped her write it then....
The only other semi intresting thing about the show was that someone called in to say their crush on Tommy was growing after they found out that he sings (something about tommy tube)
I had to pull over and vomit.

1. Take a cut out picture of tommy with us, for motivation
2. Wear the following outfit
-Blue t-shirt
-Blue elastic shorts
-Fanny Pack
3. Take a picture of us at Tommy's bench, then take a picture of us with our cut out tommy, at his bench
4. Engrave our initials into the bench so we will always be with Tommy...
Then after we will go to Parkway Plaza and ride the merry-go-round, but forget our money so we will never actually get to go on the ride.

Ok Commentary on the first 10 minutes....thank goodness I just sit at work doing nothing...I'm glad to take one for the team...
The show starts off with Tommy going to kiss jer..I think? I didn’t catch who he was going to kiss…oh wait this may be an intro to their show…???? What a stupid intro to the show...if that is a highlite of their show, I'm in for a fun morning *sarcasm*
It must have been the intro cause they started the show with some history fact which was probably found online…
Anyways the suspense of the show is already killing me…later on this morning…top ten things overheard at Uno’s victory party…(Uno being the beagle who won the dog show…)The anticipation is killing me….
More coming up on the show….Delana’s news that didn’t make the news, Laura’s dirt which includes a D-Lister drunk in La Jolla….
Oh and just to add….today is Tommy’s first day without coughing up flem….lovely…anyways 9 minutes in and there is the first commercial….god forbid they talk more than 10 minutes at a time…will report more later…this will definitely make my morning go by faster…

Highlights of what I’ve heard this morning:
Tommy is an idiot. I mean I already figured this based on his blogs but now to hear him on the radio again….oh my…he is asking a question about why some work trucks *not cal trans* get sirens and not others ….and now people are calling in giving their response…Seriously?!?!?!?!?! This went on for a good 10 minutes…
If anyone watched the video from the humane society about the cows being tortured and are interested in becoming a vegetarian, email Jer. LOL. No that video is sad but my favorite is how Jer said he was told from the humane society tens and tens and tens and tens and tens of thousands of people are interested in becoming a Vegetarian, which is fine its just amusing he made it seem like they sought him out to tell him this news…
Well I missed about an hour and ½ of the showgram but I tuned back in to hear some guy in a deep voice saying a girl really liked that kernel *popcorn kernel* and it really made her hot or something…and that kids should ditch school to see some movie…no idea but this went on for about 5 minutes and it was very boring. At least they acknowledged it and said it was an hour and ½ wasted in the wrong direction…I guess it was their spin on Mayberry or something? Well that’s what they said…and Randy made some comment about they shouldn’t try to re-create Mayberry anymore…sooo funny…boy have I missed out all these years…

Ugh now Delana is playing some little 2 year old singing Hey Jude by the beetles for Tommy....ahhhhh I really dont enjoy little kids singing on the radio. It's only cute if its your kid otherwise its annoying..just had to add that....
iamsheens
02-19-2008, 09:23 AM
I actually laughed...they were playing Michael Buble and Jer said and now the music of Michael Bubble...stupid I realized it just amused me.
So they were playing his music and it was very awkward it sounds like 5 people in a room who didn't know each other and had nothing really to say...you know how people try to make small talk with strangers? That's what it sounded like...for that 2 minutes you wouldn't have guessed they are all "best friends"
Its not as painful as I thought it would be though...maybe its cause I can hardly hear it, thankfully...I have to hold my speaker to my ear to clearly hear...

I'm trying to move on and I wish others will too. I admit I made mistakes when I switched boards and I'm trying to just keep things jeff and jer related when I post now but its hard to move on when I still hear from others the negativity said about me. I've switched boards so I don't personally understand why I'm still a topic of conversation. I understand people can say whatever they want but its becoming immature...I switched boards because I was sick of the negativity and how I was having unnecessary stress. Please don't bring the snide remarks over here. If you remember correctly the rules of this board is to keep it j and j drama related, that was one of the problems people had with apex...I'm not sure what exactly is being said about me but if people feel the need to talk trash about me I'd rather just have people say it to me.
Eventually people are going to stop posting or quit going to either board. I hope we all can move on from this at least on got apex because I'd much rather talk about the showgram. If people want to come over here to bash me fine, I won't make snide comments no matter what people say. I am over this whole situation of which board is better, who is better, the things people are saying about me, and everything else...I've held back from saying anything because things weren't being said over here but when people feel the need to come here and say things just to try and get a reaction out of me or Carol, I can't just sit back and let it happen. I'm not reading yuku for a reason. I don't want to make accusations against people, and its not worth my time or energy to do that. People keep saying that I am immature but I'm not doing anything immature. Let's all be mature adults and move on....I am not in high school anymore so let's please stop the drama.
Anyways I'm not trying to be bitchy, bossy, rude, mean, or anything I just would really like this to all end and I don't understand why others wouldn't want the same thing?

Don't forget - you are all on a public forum... people are allowed to say whatever the heck they want to. If you don't like it - learn to deal with it, or just stop posting!
you're right people can say what they want....but the rules on got apex are regulated even though it is a public forum... That's why another board was created so people can say whatever they want.
I really hope today's postings over here aren't going to be negative about who can post what, which board is better, and everything but what this board was created for. *not an attack on you Boston, I am saying in general and I don't really want to create another post to say this*

I probably shouldn't have said anything. I just feel what is happening is ridiculous. Sheens can you send me the link that you use to listen online? I never have any luck when I try from the J&J website. Thanks!! :)

Thanks you're absolutely right!
I'm listening to the showgram and they just finished some lame game, which celebrity said some lame quote. Laura kept yelling the answers out like a 5 year old.
I can't tell Jeff and Jer's voices apart but one of them said Laura has no pride about posting stuff on the internet...a total jab at her and she laughed it off...she is either clueless or doesn't care what people think of her...hmmm...

I mean they aren't horrible radio...they aren't the best either. I prefer the syndicated radio stations I get here. When I did a search on jeff and jer today I saw them being compared to some of the syndicated radio personalities like Bob and Tom. I don't think they are in comparison at all. I mean considering they make so much a year I just think they would spice things up and not do the same stuff everyday...I mean everyday they do the dirt, a top ten list, stupid stories, and its very predictable. I guess I'd just expect something more from them then what they are giving the audience. Nothing seems spontaneous and it lacks excitement. It's just a kinda blah show. Not good, not horrible, its something I'd expect to hear if I were in a small town.

I lived in San Diego for 12 years Boston. My husband retired from the Navy and we moved back to his hometown. I was a fan back in the 90's. I am enjoying listening today because it's been so long since I've been able to. I also wanted to hear for myself how things haven't changed, not that I have to explain why I'm posting and listening.

I usually listen to Mark and Brian, they are HILARIOUS and have been on for 20 years. There isn't much radio wise here in small town Ohio to pick from. LOL

I wouldn't say I'm a fan but I have a high tolerance for average radio. I remember back when I lived in San Diego just laughing constantly...sometimes laughing so hard I was almost crying...I have maybe chucked like a ha ha that's cheesy but not laughing hysterically or anything. To me good radio is something I'm laughing about, not wanting to turn the radio off because of a compelling story or amusing stint a station is doing. A good radio show I'm talking about after the show is over, I'm repeating stories about what I heard this morning, and I'm excited to listen every morning and wishing my car ride to work was longer. I don't get any of these feelings while listening to jeff and jer. I think I listen because it reminds me of San Diego and memories of me living there....its by no means what I remember the show to be but its a memory of San Diego and I cling to anything San Diego related.

You know Sheens you brought a tear to my eye. My life has changed so much since we moved and I miss the life we had in San Diego. I miss the friends we made and the community. I remember when we transferred from San Francisco I'd heard J&J comment about San Diego being the biggest small town in America and that is exactly what it felt like. Anyway, I'm babbling LOL What I was trying to say is that you summed up how I feel.

I'll have to admit, I'm confused...I thought the whole point of coming over here was to keep things J&J related. Why then did I just have to read pages of 2 posters posting to each other things totally unrelated and making plans to get together. I thought I had entered a chat room. If you are going to get upset about others not keeping it on topic, maybe you should follow your own advice. It has turned very boring...have you noticed only very few people post here now?

I think anyone who moves away feels that way. I mean I enjoy hearing the traffic reports probably because I'm just glad I don't have to deal with the traffic. haha
You know you live in a small city when you go to a large city and get excited about having more than two lanes of highway to drive on! I used to go to to St Louis and take advantage of the 4to 5 lanes of Interstate, just cause I could. LOL...granted people hated driving with me cause I'd lane hop for the heck of it. haha
I can't believe they are playing 5 questions in 4 minutes again...this is a repeat of yesturday!

Our list of to do things was a joke...if you noticed it was Jeff and Jer related things to do. We would not actully do the stuff on the list. We were amusing ourselves one night and it was jeff and jer related. Its fine people don't post here now but for the most part 95% of the stuff is Jeff and Jer related. We all know its virtually impossible to remain on topic all the time. I have not made mention of things being off topic here. I made the point this morning that the rules of this board were to be jeff and jer related, not coming here to attack people and what they say. I guess in the words of what people used to tell me...you don't have to come here and read what we discuss. Its not my job to keep people amused and I guess if you find it boring please post where you are more amused. I don't know what more everyone wants from me? Please let it go....

Lol Does nipple size matter for a guy??? I'm actually amused by Paul's nipple problem. I never would have thought a guy would have esteem problems over the size of their nipples...
I guess Jer has small nipples, I can only hope he posts a pic and put it on the web like he is claiming to do...
the nipple song they keep singing is annoying though.
