OMG! Sheens leaving!
I know, I'm sure you will be heartbroken *sarcasm*
And Elizabeth, 77 degree weather sounds marvelous, can't wait to get out of this crappy weather. I think I lucked out and wont have to see snow or ice anymore...although I probably just jinxed myself....

I know there is lots of ill will out there ...but...
If you just so happen to have a spare moment, and in that moment do not mind helping a gal out, I would really appreciate it if you would take a gander at these photos. If for some reason you think they do not suck, I would *really* appreciate it if you would cast a vote my way.

When I looked at the link I read it as Spa Day, and thought it was going to be some beauty clinic website. Spay Day, now I get it. I think the cats deserve a Spa Day, after their Spay Day.

Aw sorry to hear about your cat, I love animals it just breaks my heart to hear about people loosing their pets. I like your name choices for your pets very creative. :)
Carol, I also voted for your kitties, I wish I had time to submit my pets, oh well, I'd hate to see your cats loose. haha jk!

Have you all discussed (or dismissed?) the article on LBM in the March 2008 San Diego Magazine?
There were some precious gems of info in there, I'd be willing to share, but it you'd rather not, or already beat this dead horse, I'll back off.

I'm wondering who her PR person is, why is she publishing this about her? It will probably come out in the public court documents, anyway.
One more thought, who was her prescribing physician who was writing her Rx for the OxyContin and Vicodin?
(p.s. Lights, am I allowed to post a link to a magazine?, I'll edit it out, if you don't first)
p.p.s. everyone else, read the link in case it gets pulled........

There are some great lines in that article Trixie, my personal fav...
"...cocaine and “a little” meth" A little meth? Just a little? Hahaha. I guess just a "little" makes it alright then..I was worried that she was doing mass amounts of meth but now that I find out its only a little? No worries!
"Sablan, who’s been with the show for 25 years and lost two brothers to drug abuse, agrees. “I always thought I was someone who could detect problems like that because of my family history, but I didn’t see anything,” he says."
Did he think he had a magic drug detecting super power? If you are as self involved as Tommy Sablan seems to be, I bet it gets a little hard to see anything going on around you. I hear complete selfishness blinds the druged up co-worker drug sniffing powers. If you have two people die, are you better at seeking out those who abuse drugs and alchy better than those who did not have people in their lives die...where did that sense of entitlement come from?
....so many questions
One more thought. Maybe that is why Tommy became Laura's best friend while she was in rehab. Perhaps he felt that he should have been the one to catch her problem with his all knowing drug detecting powers and felt guilty for not "saving" her and letting her problem fly off his radar and now he is trying to make up for that....

All, I lurk a lot here but don't post much. I have a COMPLETELY off topic question / request for direction as there seems to be people here with varied experiences and, if nothing else, good sense of humor.
1st - I'm a compete and utter rule follower - obsessively so.
2nd - I'm a single mom, limited income.
Here it goes.I am totally humiliated, have been waking up with panic attacks (seriously) and just about threw up a while ago.
So, I didn't come to a complete stop while turning right and got hit with a red light ticket. Have never had so much as a parking ticket - ever. Can barely even look at the paperwork I'm so upset.
The fine is about $400 (single mom, limited income). Is there ANYTHING I can / should do? Should I ask to see the film? Should I go to traffic court and ask for leniency? Do they look at your driving record? I think if a police officer had pulled me over there would have been a chance to get off with a warning. With the cameras is it completely cut and dry? Help.
Trust me, I know I screwed up. Just looking to do anything so the fine isn't so punitive. I will PARK at corners from now on...Advice welcome. Please be nice (or at least not mean - can't take that right now)
TIA

Have you been diagnosed by a Dr. with an anxiety disorder? Are you on meds?
I have no direct personal experience, but a friend of mine was able to have her fine reduced from a camera ticket. She went in to the court and the judge reduced her fine just for showing up, and because she had no previous moving violation history. With that being said, I was not there with her so I do not know how true that is.
If it is not at cost to you (time off work) I would think if anything it would be worth it to at least *try* to maybe get your fine reduced, if that is a possiblity.
I found this link, I dont know if it helps:

Go to court. Plead guilty. The judge WILL lower the cost. Ijust went through exactly the same thing (well, I was actually pulled over, but same offence). I just showed up and said guilty and she cut it by 2/3! Good luck!

ACk Ack. Go to court, yes. See if they will let you do traffic school...you generally have to pay a fine and for the class...some of them are even online you have to fax a certificate. The plus going this way is that if you keep a clean record (for a year, usually) they don't report it to your insurance company.
Hey, don't sweat it. It's embarrassing and humiliating. But you learned "a valuable lesson," right?
Try not to let small stuff...and this IS small stuff...rule your life. you got enough on your hands as it is.
BigAl
03-03-2008, 07:19 PM
Yes, go to court. Dress professionally, plead guilty, expalin yourself and you'll be at the mercy of the judge. If you are clean, then you'll get a reduced fine, etc.
IF you go in cocky and arrogant, or act pompous, then you'll get the MAX.
Now get back to normal. Life moves forward, don't get wrapped up in what you can't change. Oh, the limited income part---you fix that too.

Ashya, callllmmmmmm down. It'll be okay. Two ideas. First, I've used Mitch Mehdy (Mr. Ticket) in the past. He's good, he knows the court system, and his fee is $99. It's possible he'll get you off. It's possible he won't be able to. He's the best bet, though. If you need his number, either look him up on line or PM me and I'll give it to you.
Second, my sister got a ticket for something (I can't remember what it was), and she couldn't afford the $300-$400 fine that attached to it, so she asked the judge if she could do some community service. He agreed, and her fine was minimal with community service making up the rest.
Good luck to you. Seriously, don't let it get you down, girl. It sounds like you're pretty hard on yourself, but you're taking care of everything, so be easy on yourself. You deserve it!

Thanks all for the advice and for being nice. I DO know this isn't a life and death thing. It is a straw that broke the camel's back thing - trust me things are very sucky right now. So, yes, still very very upset.
A couple of more answers / questions?
It seems from the paperwork my options are pay $401 OR plead not guilty in court. Do I have another option? It seems from what you are saying I can still go to court, plead guilty but perhaps have a lesser fine?
My must respond by date is 4/1/08. Does that mean I can go in at any time - would prefer to get this over with. Perhaps if I go on my birthday they will show mercy :-)
Is there really a benefit to paying $99 for a lawyer - especially if I am guilty (I don't want to pay $99 + $401). I don't want the judge to think I'm a wanker for bringing in legal counsel.
What is the drill at the courthouse? WILL the judge look at my driving record, will the judge ask me questions or is it cut and dry? (Ha ha I should also mention that I have a terrible fear of "public speaking"...ya, I'm a mess...)
Anything else....

Aren't those two separate questions? :hihi:
P.S. Whenever I read, "I'm a single mom," (like Ashya's post) I get angry. It makes me think, "I hope the dad was tragically killed in an accident -- cause if that S.O.B. sired a child and left...he deserves to be tragically and painfully killed in an accident!!!"

He got me out of a Camera stop light. the benefit of having Mitch Mehdy on your side is he knows the system, and he may be able to get you out scott free. You never know. He has gotten me and others out of crap that we shouldn't have been able to get out of. It is a gamble, but it's worth it in my mind, because he has saved my family hundreds and gotten us off free with no fine, nothing, and then other times he's gotten us discounts on the fines. It's a gamble. It always is. But as far as knowing the system, he is king!!!
It's totally up to you. I think Mitch will have a better chance of getting you a discount than you will. Think about it. He knows the clerks, the judges, the police officers, etc. He KNOWS THE SYSTEM. It IS as system. If you know it, you've got an edge.
Just my humble opinion. Take it for what you will.
Good luck, Ashya. I wish you well with whatever you choose.

I've never got a ticket for going through a red light but I did cause an accident before and got a ticket for that. I went and plead guilty on my court date and was fined I think 80 something dollars, which was very minimal considering how much I paid to buy a new car and everything else.
I also got another ticket like 2 years ago. I was speeding but the officer was nice and gave me a ticket for following too closely because it was a cheaper ticket. I went ahead and paid that and it never ended up going on my record. This was in Missouri though so the law may be different there.
If you aren't sure what to do the best thing is to talk to a lawyer or call the courthouse or wherever you have to send the money too and see what alternative options there are. The good thing is that since it is your first offense it sounds like then traffic school should wipe the ticket off the record. Good luck with everything I hope it all works out in a cheaply manner.

Ashya just continue to be a great mom to your kids. It's sad they wont have dad around to experience the things they should have dad around for but just be glad you are there to support the kids. I had a dad like your kids in the aspect he was never around. My brother and I handled it differently. My brother looks up to my dad like he is some rockstar he idolizes and I don't get it and I used to be so bitter that my dad was never around for me growing up and throughout my adult life thus far. I now just feel like it is his loss and he is the one missing out on all those milestones in my life, not me. I think its sad but there is only so much I can do before it is a loss cause. Don't feel bad that your kids don't have their dad around, they will hopefully realize how hard you are trying and how much love you have for them. They may not appreciate it now or through their teenage lives but as they mature and get older they will appreciate everything you did for them throughout life. I know I feel this way about my mom. She struggled to provide the best lifestyle she could for my brother and I and I admire her for the strength and courage and love she had for my brother and I.
Sorry for the long sappy post just being in the shoes of your kids I just wanted you to know that things will work and its ashame the father isn't around, he will regret it later in life.:)

Just bored and on the j and j website...
According to Tommy's new daily blog Tommy will be on vacation after Friday...seriously what has been so hard about his job that he already needs a vacation? Maybe all the working out is just too much and he needs to sit at home and eat to feel comfortable with himself.
Tommy also says he has been sober for 60 days *yeah right* and that he would rather sleep in tents during the 3 day rather than luxury hotel rooms, I just have a hard time believing this.
Also next week Laura celebrates 1 year of sobriety, thats great, sure I disagree a lot with her lifestyle choices but at least she is making the first step by doing stuff in life sober!
Carol

So we were talking about Bravery in class today, and we read an atricle which made the argument that overcoming substance abuse is a brave act.
Do you agree or disagree? Why?
Wabbitsd
03-11-2008, 09:00 PM
Sure. I agree, of course.
Not that the concept as presented cheapens the definition of what true "Bravery" really is all about, but we are quibbling about unimportant stuff, in terms of what makes a self-annointed Big Deal just that.
There is a caveat to my agreement, though. As long as you admit that my deciding to clean out my purse is an act of bravery. And of course, Waking up in the morning and getting to work on TIME is an act of bravery, contributing to your community instead of DEMANDING that the doggone world pat you on the back cause you got dumped into rehab but you have a highly paid PR agent whose job it is to rewire the thinking of the huddling masses to believe YOU CHOSE to face your substance abuse issues...what a laugh, sorry, I burst out in unadulterated sarcasm, didn't I....perdonne moi...
Then, of course, choosing not to familiarize your kids with a liquor store or a 7/11 as a major source of regular meals is considered an act of bravery, and of course, not introducing your kids to scratcher lottery tickets before the age of five is considered an act of bravery in some foreign countries, obviously not here in San Diego, or we wouldn't be discussing this whole concept at all, now would we? And not choosing to rob a liquor store is an act of bravery, cooking a real meal for your kids and not handing them a bowl of top ramen and a map to the microwave is an act of bravery. And of course, choosing NOT to indulge yourself with costly to maintain fingernails and toenails, NOT waxing and chatting about the state of your hoohah while sadly shaking your head and wondering why you have your own bedroom furniture setup and entertaining areas complete, yet your kids' rooms lack the basics... that, indeed is an act of bravery. Not whining about how your former spouse didn't continue to put up with your narcissistic and disgusting pack of lies lies lies would be an act of bravery, and backing off trying to have custody of the children because you truly ARE an unfit parent is an act of bravery but alas, a very public confession that you and that cadre of buffoons you surround yourself with would be an act of bravery in itself.
So, back to the original question. The only person who would even pose that kind of question would be a tired, worn out old shrink who doesn't give a rat's patoot whether there is even an answer to the question, but he gets paid by the hour to have someone try to fit reason to answer the question.

And seeing as I just moved to Arizona I knew there was no way I knew this guy...and finally after about a half hour of driving myself crazy I realized this person look and talked just like................Tommy. poor guy. I caught him staring at me today, I was a little creeped out....hope he is nothing like the real Tommy...
There was also a Laura story I've been wanting to share but now that I have time I can't remember it, oh well...just thought I'd stop in and say hi, soooo HI!:)

Here the default is 30 posts per page - and it's not frenetic. Seems most former G/A DC posters have found their best fit elsewhere. I still check in here every day or so, though, just in case there is new J&J stuff going on and being talked about.
Nice to see you are checking in too.

sadly (?), sewing takes up most of my time now. I made a pillow case! Which oddly enough is a huge acomplishment for me on the domestic front.

ok I have a little free time tonight and read one entry on Laura's diary...they must have been on vacation last week because she hasn't posted since the 5th or 6th, which I guess marked her one year of sobriety?
I did want to share a quote from Laura that I am a little taken back by.
"If everyone had a friend like Tommy, the world would be a better place."
I think her mom said that...and sure on the outside tommy does look great..he let her move in, took care of her, and went to some meetings with her at first. However, what little good he has done in life does not take away from the fact he has screwed up a ton. I really don't think the world would be a better place if there were more people like him....are you kidding me?
Yes, what the world needs is more cheater, materialistic, abusive, bad parent, alcoholic, perverts....sounds idealistic.
ugh.
B.T.W I guess Paula Abdul was in the studio and they posted a pic of her and she looks crazy....I do love how they get celebrities popular in the 80's on the show....Paula Abdul, Steve Guttenburg (sp?), I can only hope next week they have Molly Ringwald or something...he-he.
Hope everyone has a great week!!! =)

For once I like Laura's outfit of the week. I think the pants and shoes are something I would totally buy. I'm not sure about the scarf since its san diego but over all its probably my favorite outfit I've seen her wear.
I kinda skimmed through tommy's blogs and I guess he is actually selling his house. I think it may be going on the market this weekend from the sounds of it. He wrote a story about how him and eddie snuggled on the love sac together...to me thats kinda weird since eddie is a little bit too old for that but maybe thats just me.
I also saw the line up for the san diego county fair. The best band coming is Boston.
anyways that was about all I could stomach from their website

The outfit
1) I can not fathom why someone would shell out $20 for that beast of a scarf.
2) Do I need to say anything about the craptastic nature of the shoes she is wearing? Bleck, could they look any cheaper? Not to mention I have issues with wide leg trousers and ballet flats, but that is just a personal thing that I can over look
3) I do not get the casual shirt with the dress pants. If you are going to wear pants that are a little more formal in nature, buy a friggin shirt that matches the pants in formality (I can understand someone who is working within their own existing wardrobe but she went out and did this to herself).
Although: The pants I like
Black ballet flats I like
White shirts I like
I just can't handle her outfit and the way it was put together. Also, I feel like she has to add something extra to the outfit to ruin it. This week it was the scarf, last week she ruined very (what I thought to be) nice looking outfit with that friggin headband.

i thought the shirt looked cheap. i dunno it looked like it was maybe made out of stretch material. That type of material annoys me for some reason.
I used to do the tshirt/slack thing at work since they didnt care what i wore but I'm not trying to get people to follow my fashion trends.
I think I like everything individually but not as an outfit. i like the slack/ballet look also though. another trend i tend to do. although i have no fashion sense what so ever, but i'm okay with that!

Oh and I had no idea that scarf was 20.00. I wasn't paying attention to how much her outfit cost. I don't know why anyone who lives in san diego would pay 20.00 for a scarf. What a waste of money. Maybe if you live in north dakota it would be a good purchase.

That was not a swipe at the slacks and shirt look, I 100% am pro shirt and slacks. I am not pro cheap looking, more casual shirt with more formal looking slacks...maybe I don't have room to talk about scarfs all mine are from peru and free.
I also hate this trend I have been seeing around of nice heels, a nice blazer, a nice cami....then light washed, faux trashed jeans.
Ugh, and ballet flats, with knee length A-line skirts on anyone other than people with cute thin little bird legs and well defined ankles irks me as well.

ugh to faux trashed jeans. who decided this was a trend that needed to be started?
ballet shoes are cute with slacks, sometimes jeans, but not skirts. i dont like that looks. skirts arent meant to be worn with some sort of dressy shoe...eh who am i to talk i love wearing skirts with flip flops...but not professional work skirts more like fun casual skirts.
i got rid of all my scarfs. I never want to be reminded of a time when I needed them to keep me warm. lol

I SUCKIE SUCKIE at posting pictures, sorry. :( I thank you for the congratulations too!
My boys are now 9 weeks old, 10 weeks on Tuesday. They came 5 weeks early, and they were 5.13 and 5.11 each. Very healthy and no NiCu time!
they've now doubled their weight and super cute, but man oh man are they a lot of work! Thank God they're cute is all i can say... I'm exhausted, and I come back on here and find that everyone's defected to another board that I for some reason cannot navigate very easily at all. :( So I love to come back here and check on things, but whoa, it's dead on here, I'm glad to see some hearty soldiers sticking it out though. :)
Okay, i'd NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT ballet flats with wide leg trousers before, but now I'm a firm believer on that being a fashion "don't." I like the dress from the week before, but I don't like this week's outfit that much. Seperately it's all fine, but collectively it's a big old mess!

uhm wtf? did she let her 3 year old pick her outfit out? I can't believe someone let her wear this in public. Just because everything she is wearing is an expensive name brand, doesn't make it a good outfit. she really shouldn't be allowed to do the outfit of the week anymore.
Is it me or do her shoes make her feet look GIGANTIC?
I like the dress but not with that outfit....especially the tights, I hate that look so much, it reminds me of my childhood, back in the 80s.
I was at the mall the other day and all these stores had their mannequins wearing outfits straight from the 80s, god I hope the 80s clothing style is not coming back....
I can only hope shoulder pads come back into style though. My shoulders are really lacking definition, I think shoulder pads could help me with this problem. LOL
Oh and for those keeping tracking, Tommy's mother is still getting better. I'm sorry but hasn't she been getting better for the last like 6 months? Maybe b-12 is working wonders for her but I still think Tommy is in denial about his mothers health.
Oh and tommy loves Michelle still...he says that he still loves seeing her. I'd really hope so considering they are going to buy a house together and get married. He acts like they have been together for 30 years or something...it hasn't been even a year yet, but maybe for tommy a year feels like 10. I'm sure for the girls that he has been with a year probably felt like an eternity.
Oh and just to share since everybody is asleep here, I became an aunt a few hours ago, just needed to tell somebody, yipeeeeee!!!!
Carol
04-04-2008, 08:49 AM
Congrats on being an aunt!
The ballet flats with that outfit bother me just because I am sure there are better choices, like some nice flat, non flip flop sandals that I have been seeing everywhere, not to mention she totally has the ankles to pull them off (teeny tiny). I could see ballet flats being really cute on her, but she just chooses to wear them with all the wrong things, in my personal opinion.
As for tommy, the reason it seems like he has been with the michelle for 30 years is because he has been. Tommy dating years are similar dog years, but even more rapid. 1 mo = ~5 yrs.

Elizabeth, YAY for Team Pink! How's the pregnancy going? I can't believe I actually miss being pregnant, and I had so many complications with it! I must be sick or something. :)
I didn't love seeing the leggings look come back, but I'm getting used to it - it just has to go with the right kind of dress. The more billowy throughout and narrow at the bottom kind. And it should be a bit shorter, I think. I don't know.
Her hoodie looks silly on her, also. It's too short waisted, and it just doesn't go together! It is DEFINITELY something my 3 year old would put together!
Hope everyone had a nice weekend. :)

I think it was given that when tommy started blogging again it would only be a matter of time before the focus shifted from the 3day to him. After all everything is about him. He looses interest if a subject does not revolve around him. I mean the blog went from the 3 day blog back to Tommy's Blog. Its nice to see how much the three day means to him. But really did anyone care what his exercise routes are and how inspiring he thinks he is to others? I much rather read the "juicy" or lack of "juicy" material he gives
They posted before and after pictures of his house and its okay. I just would expect a lot more from a designer. It looks better then before but I'm not impressed by his house still. Really? I thought his house was a DRASTIC improvement, esp. if he is planning on moving (oh god, I am so behind, those pictures were of his house he is currently living in right, he has not moved has he?) Was his house unique? Not at all. Did it look like he went into treasures and bought their display rooms? Yes. It doesn't seem like she did anything that spectacular, or amazingly creative but I bet it was alot of work convincing him that he had to ditch the old ratty couch from the 80's. So I bet she was worth her weight in that sense. Assuming she was paying him and she was not a "friend".
The house actually looks like something a regular person would want to buy for the large price tag that I am sure it is selling for, in my opinion.
And I really like the master suite. Keep in mind, I live in a shoebox, with windows.

Oh, I agree its a major change compared to before. I guess I just expected more at the same time. I guess I look at housing differently because I am house hunting currently and you really have to do something to make one house stand out from others and I don't feel like this house stands out if you were to compare it to some other houses in the area. I also didn't like some of the furniture styles but its all about choice. At least it no longer looks like a Bachelor/College pad. Those floral coaches were hideous. I'm pretty sure the lack of decorating and furniture was deprecating the value of his house.
I didn't like the guitar room though. To me it seemed like the room could have been shown as a more meaningful room like a office, guest room, etc. I don't know perhaps I spend too much time looking at houses but that Guitar room could end up backfiring. Its amazing how much people like rooms to be identified while house hunting.....wow I watch too much HGTV! LOL

Carol

Oye, Laura's outfit. Well, it looks like no one liked it. So, I feel a little bad for her and I guess I should say something positive first.
That woman is able to commit to a theme, if you will. It might look beastly and unflattering but it all comes together to achieve a uniform..Look..I guess.
But seriously? A puffy top with a mid length skirt? Pftt, she should have saved the top to go with some pants with a slim line to them, like the straight leg pants that are popular now(which if I recall, she was actually somehow able to pull them off)
The skirt? Whatever, it was 4 dollars and a seemingly good buy, it looks like a decent skirt, except for the fact they look like gaucho pants gone wrong, but that could just be the picture and again, why oh why did she pair two puffy pieces together that just bulk her up. Why doesnt she do something that gives her a waist line, a bust line, or a hip line. I am sure she has 1 out of three if not 2 out of the three.
*sigh* She could do so much better. I can't even say anything about the boots becuase I am so flustered by her lack of silhouette. I thought the point of this was to show people what amazing looks they could pull off with just $73. All her outfits just look like a mad dash to do something..anything for 73 bucks. She has skipped what is flattering to her body shape, which might have been nice for the women who are not a size 2 or 4 to see. She skipped being trendy, she skipped being practical. What is the point to this outfit of the "weak"? :disa:

I saw the outfit of the week in color but the outfit is still horrible. I guess I just don't like the jean skirt look with boots.
I don't know the context of why people are photoshopping the pictures of her outfit of the week but how can she be taken as a person who knows how to find cute affordable clothes when she is standing next to a guy with a beer belly and mullet?
I don't know but if this were my job I'd take it seriously but then again if I took my job seriously I wouldn't be doing any of the following
1. Working on or with the showgram
2. Purchasing hideous outfits
3. Throwing outfits together last minute because I forgot what day I do a weekly segment
Seriously, who is referring to Laura's outfit of the week as something credible? Then again if you are dressing like Laura, you are probably going down or have been down Laura's path in life.
Oh well its as if she enjoy being the laughing stock of San Diego and if that's the case then Congratulations, you've succeeded, yet again!

http://www.rchumanesociety.org/adopt/pet_details.php?pet_id=4054
It is fate!
Man, this IS me as a guy dog!
"Wabbit is a very shy and under-socialized boy who will need a special home to help him overcome his fears. We are looking for a home experienced with shy dogs to help him adjust to live in San Diego. We suggest high-school-age teens for Wabbit."
But the whole "fear" thing is a ruse so someone will feel sorry for me and then I'll take over and run the place like I was Emperor.
Who named that dog? I got to chat with them and tell them to quit cutting in on my territory.

LBM. There, there's some spewgram chat. FH bugs me too.
Carl! FH posted the address of his own home on his blog.
FH's blog is no longer about the 3 day walk, it's back to all about FH.
How's that? Catty, chatty, spew-related and to the point where you shouldn't get too bored.
Rabbits rule the universe, by the way. It's a well known fact. Even if it isn't true.
I know Cosmo worships the ground you float above!

Just a thought, but, I think you can take the word "control" off before issues, and just leave it as plain ole issues.

cute but....There are a variety of reasons. Mostly though, as I am sure many people have noticed, <-- Edited to insert a hesitant comma my spelling and grammer are awful. So I will post something, then <-- Edited because I saw I wrote "the" instead of "then" realize that I could have improved upon my sucky grammer/spelling so I go back and fix it. No no, I think we stated that based on what the majority (and I use that term lightly) around these parts elude to in their posts regarding "us".
You know, if we have control issues (or just issues in general), we are to judgemental, we are mean, we are catty...we MUST be BAD right?
Edited to add: Besides, it's fun and FUNNY too, as opposed to this board which is just funny.

OOO good point! You can see on this thread when someone asked about why I deleted something, and I told them I didn't want to cause unecessary drama by having someone assume it was directed towards them when it was not. Or, I deleted a nasty comment because I posted it in haste when you and I were bickering back and forth and thought better to keep it to myself. I guess I just dont see how that was a bad thing.

I don't think that makes anyone bad, just different. It is just a different style, and I don't think anyone here has any problems with that anymore (except that one trollish person whatever their s/n was.). Everything has been nice and calm, and I am going to go out on a limb here and assume that there is no internal cattyness over yonder as, there has been none here. <--Edited Everything seemed to have sorted itself out and I guess I thought everyone was done with it. The funny thing is, when one person come in and states something nasty about "us", the other two of you are fairly quick to jump all over it, right?
Just thought I'd point out that things were NICE at both boards and quite CALM here, until yesterday when you two regulars decided to be snide instead of just ignore Halinn's attempt at well, whatever she was attemtping.
I told you before and I'll tell you again, be nasty or make little remarks all you want, but don't think that I'm going to simply ignore it.
So really, don't try to post now and pretend that you were making innocent conversation because you weren't.

Like I said, we all have our own issues, that is all I meant. As I said before. I don't really know what H was insuinating either with the control comment, I dont know what control has to do with any of this.
As my understanding goes, this is a board for the public to use, so who ever is here is here. But in all honesty, personally I am fine with a slow moving board. It suits me. I dont have much to say re. the show really anymore soooo, hours/days/weeks between posts, it is all fine with me.

Oh yes, "sweetie", "hun" (as opposed to honey, I think "hun" has just a bit more flare), "buddy" for the gents, and when they're truly deserving, I may throw in a nice "pal" for good measure.

I think I'd be in denial too because I love my mom so much but he can't honestly believe she is going to fully recover from being old and frail. Perhaps he is using THE SECRET to bring her youth back, who knows?
So did Tommy and Michelle buy a house together yet or do they all live in Tommy's? I can't figure it out. Again, he is trying to make his life seem like the brady bunch. He really should just give it up.
HOLY BALLS, he is using that term again as well, lucky me, I was starting to miss it, eh not really.

What's with the 100.00 gift certificate to boll weevil for Laura's photoshop picture? Granted its a fun place to shoot pool and catch a burger but I just would expect something a little more exciting or worthwhile for this contest they are doing. Well I'm probably expecting too much from the Showgram...

Eh no doubt about it. He probably can't distinguish reality from tommy world, he meshes the two together. What he says is going on in his life and what is actually happening are usually two completely different things.
Like he says the family went for a fun car drive where everyone was talking and having fun. What probably really happened was everyone went for a car ride and nobody was having as much fun as he claims. To me, Eddie and Vanessa seem like they are at the age where they want to spend less time with parents and more time with friends. At least I was that way. My parents mortified me so to spend an entire day with them in a car does not like an exciting Sunday.
He could be right, maybe they had the time of their life but I just have a hard time believing it.
Tommy likes the attention he receives from others. He buys into that "big deal" hype and that he is a big deal when really he is just a small nobody. He is the type of person who would do Google searches on himself just to see the good stuff written about him and clearly he enjoys the responses he gets from here and probably the other board as well. I know all this but there isn't much for me to do in the internet world and so I am okay with him having the last laugh, after all it is at himself.

SOOOoooooo question...
Do you think young teenage girls that are allowed to and do dress mature for their age (Read as skanky: As in FULLY lined black eyeliner eyes, tops which show max. clevage, booty shorts etc.) are more likely to have loose morals?

No more likely than a kid who dresses in all black and wears army boots is to go shoot up a school.
That being said, there would almost certainly be an underlying reason that a young girl feels the need to dress in such a manner and show herself off, but I think more often it has less to do with truly HAVING loose morals and more to do with seeking attention from men.
I recently watched the movie "Georgia Rule" and while it wasn't very well done, it definitely hit on that point. The main character (Played by the infamous Lindsay Lohan) had been abused as a preteen by her step-father. She went on to rebel and "act out" in a provacative manner. She used her body and her beauty to get attention that she mistook for "love".
Beyond all that, when in High School I remember the girls that everyone thought were "innocent" being the biggest whores of all...

An underlying reason? Like, ooooo I don't know, maybe trying to get male attention because the most important male figure in your life only seemes to care about you in blogs or when there was a camera pointed towards he & you? (from what we once told)
On another note, has anyone here ever had a friend who was always in failing relationship with someone they seemed to think they could "fix" or "rescue"? *cough* future Charlie *cough*

I would say so. But like Layla said the person who wears all black may have just as loose morals.
I think it all depends on how teenagers personality is and how they were brought up. A shy innocent girl may have strong moral even though she dresses provocative. If she is shy then she is not going to necessarily give the goods free. I was the shy and innocent girl, granted I never dressed slutty so maybe the shy and innocent girl who dresses slutty does so due to her loose morals.
I think in general though the girls who dress slutty have the reputation of having loose morals but its not necessarily true.
Like Layla kinda said the "innocent" ones aka the goody good church goers were sometimes the wildest ones.

okay I really doubt Tommy has a problem with Emilie's outfit. I really don't like her outfit though its so not work appropriate, unless you work for the showgram then I think its fine. Did he just learn about Photoshop because these photoshop contests emerged from nowhere it seems.
I don't like Laura's biker look she is going for this week. She just needs a bandanna to complete her outfit.
Dogs wearing two piece bathing suits is weird anyone else think so?
Oh I guess Tommy has been going to an outpatient program. Its nice that he finally is realizing he has a problem and has been working to change, or so he says.

"....that top does not flatter her well" No, her face and body do not flatter her well.
Outfit essentials: Jeans (to hide hideous legs), Long-top (to cover expanding ass and hips), lots-of-hair (to hide "man-face"), tilted head (to mask horse-jaw and fivehead), crooked foot (to affect the "I'm-a-little-girl-trapped-in-a-hag-addict-body" look), expensive shoes on sale (drawing attention away from six11 meat-slabs.

One can only hope.
So I am waiting.....like Carl Sanburg...
WAITING
TODAY I will let the old boat stand
Where the sweep of the harbor tide comes in
To the pulse of a far, deep-steady sway.
And I will rest and dream and sit on the deck
Watching the world go by
And take my pay for many hard days gone I remember.
I will choose what clouds I like
In the great white fleets that wander the blue
As I lie on my back or loaf at the rail.
And I will listen as the veering winds kiss me and fold me
And put on my brow the touch of the world's great will.
Daybreak will hear the heart of the boat beat,
Engine throb and piston play
In the quiver and leap at call of life.
To-morrow we move in the gaps and heights
On changing floors of unlevel seas
And no man shall stop us and no man follow
For ours is the quest of an unknown shore
And we are husky and lusty and shouting-gay.

It doesn't matter if Rosa is getting better or worse all we know is that she looks frail and sickly and to be honest if my mother looked like Rosa and I knew she was in poor health and I knew she loved gambling and casinos I would NOT hesitate in my decision to take her there.
I am sure this will be the case with my mother in law. She hits the slots for fun, penny slots are her thing. When she becomes older and in possibly ill health and nearing the end of her days. I would be willing to take her anywhere she wanted to go.
She wants a lap dance before she kicks the bucket? Fine by me, I would wheel her in and help her tip the ladies (or gents). In my personal opinion at some point it just becomes about making the older individual in your life happy. Even if it means taking them to a smoke filled, loud, germ infested casino. There is no sense in having someone you love waste away in a sheltered world just because it may keep them around longer.

Jerry has no money to tip the valet parking attendant. he's trying to look busy on a cell phone so he can "avoid" the awkward moment. (awkward looks weird)...
Anyway, he has no cell, so he uses his wallet, opens it up, and sticks it to his ear as a cell phone.
When I first heard the story, it was funny. Now I think he put that on the air so the guy wouldn't go around telling everyone what a cheap-ass jerk Jer really is.

Its nice he is doing stuff for his mom in her frail state but it bothers me more than anything how he parades it around. How he must receive the credit for doing something nice. maybe I'm just being insensitive but why can't he do anything without posting pictures or blogs about it?

Jerry has no money to tip the valet parking attendant. he's trying to look busy on a cell phone so he can "avoid" the awkward moment. (awkward looks weird)...
Anyway, he has no cell, so he uses his wallet, opens it up, and sticks it to his ear as a cell phone.
When I first heard the story, it was funny. Now I think he put that on the air so the guy wouldn't go around telling everyone what a cheap-ass jerk Jer really is.
Wow! On the one hand it is kinda funny he'd make himself look like a bigger idiot by using his wallet as phone just to avoid the valet attendant. Just lame he couldn't hit an atm machine up or just fess up to the truth, what a loser.

Um, excuse me, may I enter the room? I've been peeking through the window for quite some time now and it's cold out there.
My suspicion, after perusing Tommy's latest blogs, is that the show will not make it for another year -- because the little man has counted all his visible digits and can go no further. Actually I am astonished that he could count to 20. Or is it 20 and one-half?
Any insight, Jake?

Yes welcome! Come on in, grab a blanket and warm yourself up!
We can all only hope the show, the nightmare that is the jeff and jer showgram will end this year. Sadly, if jeff and jer did end it just would be replace with the Laura and Tommy show, which would be equally annoying if not worse.
Do share more of your insight, please! And welcome to the club!

It's no secret that Jer(k) is ready to bail, but with all his many families and kids to support, I wonder if Jeff can retire now? Maybe he will try to hook up with Greg Sims and be the Jeff and Greg show. Or the Greg and Jeff Show. Or...

Aaahh!! Of course!! Why didn't I think of that?
A trans-cranial, magnetic, stimulation device, generating magnetic field impulses which stimulate underlying nerve cells in a focused volume.
You are brilliant!!
