This doesn't surprise me. If anything...Jeff & Jer are true to their friends and both Tommy and Laura have been with them for a long time....so it was pretty certain that they would be part of the deal. Randy and Rick may stay on with Jack....but in the background as production personnel. I do not know this for a fact...just a gut feeling.

I heard on 94.1 this morning that J & J will be doing a whole new show, and bringing a lot of new stuff to the station. Of course, they couldn't say anymore except "stay tuned". I sure hope the new show gram is better than what they are giving us now..

They are pretty funny right now they are complaining that the a/c is out in their studio because, Jeff & jer are moving into their building and because J&J are such big stars they are remodeling the studio for them to include space for a presonal chef and a massage therapist.

The Jack offer sounds like it wasn't much more than they were making already. In fact, it might have been a little less. Looks like 94.1 got them for $3 million each! For that kind of money, I'd clean out the grease traps and dig out garbage from the trash bins on a daily basis at Soup Plantation especially if it were just 4 hours a day!

I agree, her voice and personality are just plain annoying!! I was just making a comment about her looks cuz people were always calling in saying how "beautiful" she is. :disa: . There are some other really annoying female voices on during the morning drive here in SD though. I can't stand Shelley's constant laughing on 101.5 and I don't know who it is but the chick on the Mikey Show on 105.3....OUCH!

Well Congratulations on your "star 94.1". Yes, they are back and bringing Star with them, and it sounds like jingle ball and becky's house are back as well. If you didn't hear the announcement at 7:10 if was pretty touching. They talked about how 6 months ago, when Jack appeared, and how it became a radio station that doesn't care about anybody. Now they are with a station that cares and wants to do for the people again. :)

WOW, interesting news. Jeff admitted on the radio that Nina and him split up, over a year ago. I hadn't realized that it had been that long.

No, no details. He did get a little "emotional" on air though. Sounded like he started tearing up and crying a little when he said something about asking us to just pray for the kids, like it must be really hard on them, like you'd expect. He just said he and Nina get along fine now and are good parents but just weren't so good at the "other" stuff.

Looks like 94.1 is keeping their promise so far. A total of 79 minutes worth of commercials were played during the 4 hour program. This compares with the WELL OVER 90 minutes worth of commercials Tracy Johnson kept sticking us with towards the end of JnJ's time at KFMB. JnJ came on right at 6:01am. I'm guessing after their first week they'll be back to their usual schedule of leisurely strolling in at 6:15am. Not a bad show at all today. I'm still bummed Rick weazled his way over but he didn't seem that annoying today.

The date of the divorce filing is Jan 27, 2005. Wow! Talk about a fast mover. Didn't he move out here, meet Nina, then divorce wife #1??

Do you think she went with him on the big boat trip? Maybe that's why the other kids didn't go.. :spock:

Jeff was married when he first came to san diego. I remember he used to call his 1st wife Carol when he did radio bits. He was divorced shortly after coming to San Diego, and Carol and the first set of kids moved back to Ohio

They are making $3 million now. KFMB offered them just over 2.5 million on their contract renewal but 94.1 came in higher.

Change is good. The Star format was great....Jack made a huge mistake.
I understand that remaining personnel at Jack are wandering around wondering what happened. Quite a few have left for greener pastures especially in the sales department. Advertisers have already started reducing their spending on Jack.

Barbara www.barbaradeangelis.com was a guest on their show today.

Tommy seeks troubled women because he wants to "save" them. This stems from him watching his mother struggle to raise the family after the father passed away when he was 5 years old. As a child he wanted to save/help his mom but couldn't and so now he carried it into adulthood because he can. He goes with young women becuase he wants to dominate the relationship.

She said that Jerry is an alcoholic after he said that he drinks 2 beers and a bottle of wine everyday. :cheers:

First let me preface my response, by reminding everyone that I did not catch on to Chris' stars clue.. :winkie: So take it for what its worth.

Jer didn't seem offended, she(Barbara) said that 70% of americans are alcoholics. Jer said that he knows lots of people that drink WAAAAYYY more than he and Pam. That's some reasoning :rolleyes:

I honestly don't remember anything about Jeff except that he would pretty much repeat (with an all knowing tone) to the caller what Barbara had just told the caller, like he was the counselor, :boring: pretty boring, my ears may have auto-shut off. :shrug:

Yeah, that's what I was thinking yesterday when he was ordering it. I kind of missed some of it this AM but from what I did hear, it sounded like this whole breakfast plan was kind of backfiring on them. Jer is such a Jerk!! If you tell someone you are going to be a personal reference for a job, well then you are supposed to say something nice. I wish the guy who just got screwed by Jer's lousy reference could be contacted and told what a jerk Jer is. It would be great if he could be sued, but I don't think he said anything defamatory.

If someone gave a reference like that to me for a potential employee, - there is NO WAY in he!! that I would even consider the applicant. References that are "given/referred by the applicant" are ALWAYS expected to be the biggest cheerleaders for the applicant, so what he did was really crappy.

I don't really see a problem with what Jerry did. He told the truth and that's it. The future boss asked what he thought but instead of doing harm he basically replied that he couldn't remember. Totally disagree with you. I think J&J are back on target again. Some things I have noticed that are different on the show....both Laura and Randy play much lesser roles. Laura no longer does, news or traffic. Randy seems to be more administrative and in the background....and haven't figured out what the heck Rick does any more.

I agree they are getting their "funny" back, it's been so long. I think Laura is still doing news, because yesterday Jeff was joking about the "news" she was reading he asked if the old station got news from the associated press and that the new station is getting it from the enquirer.

I have to agree, I have found for awhile now that J&J aren't all that funny anymore. I have been switching back and forth to other radio talk shows and have found some to be funnier and more entertaining. He and his friends sang a song or something to her that reminded her of her dead father~honestly I can't remember. She had already tattooed a christian fish on her hip with Yes in the middle because she said she will always say yes to him the rest of her life. (That seemed odd to me)
The way he was talking about their relationship was like they have been together forever- it just seemed creepy to me that within one year he's divorced and now engaged in a long distance relationship speaking like they've been married for 20 years. I hope it works for the kids sake, but honestly what are the odds? :duh:

He's not the one who called it quits, cheated, and partied all the time. The last two years have been tough, and if he's been lucky enough to find someone who seems to share his spirituality, etc. then good for him.

They proceeded to play some really stupid bits that were sent in to them-probably by listeners. REALLY AWFUL STUFF~so we would think that they are brilliant and do the show all on their own.

Listening to the Mikey Show... a caller called in and said that the "salty haired half" (Jer) of the J & J show walked into the Starbucks near the station and the line was REALLY long so Jer thought he was too good to wait in line and cut to the front of the line, in front of the guy calling in. The guy asked Jer "and WHAT do you THINK you're doing?" so Jer pulled the "Don't YOU know who I am and I am in a hurry!!" The caller was a big guy and I think intimidated Jer by saying "I don't care who You THINK you are- there's the end of the line!"

The Mikey Show and J&J are in the same building. Mikey said that Jeff is a really cool, good, nice guy & would consider him a friend. On the other hand, he doesn't say it blatently, but leads you to believe that Jer is a real d!ck!

Can you imagine waiting in line at Starbucks and then have someone cut in saying

Jer does have a bit of an ego. A few years ago, I ran into him at Trader Joes in La Jolla and made the mistake of saying "Hi Jeff". Boy....he quickly put me in my place as to the fact that his name is Jer, not Jeff. I apologized and he turned in a huff.

Oh....I am sure she knows it's a wig. Afterall they shared a room at the Hilton in Wooster, Ohio. Also...he should look into hair transplants. My hair sylist had it done and it looks terrific.

Pretty simple... They make that kind of dough because they bring in a lot of dough for the station through advertising. The more people listen, the more they can charge for commercials, the more Jeff and Jer and crew make.

I've never been there so I don't know. I can only assume that it's not as good as ours! We've brought them coffee before to get them to try it but he had a hard time just getting it to them and I'm sure that Jerry is such a Starbucks fan, that he wouldn't care anyway. Don't get me started....this is your fault, Chris. :P I must say that when he did visit Jagger & Kristi, they were very supportive and same for when we called Greg, Jen and Sara. Also, when he has called DSC, they have been very nice. You wouldn't mind but we were doing an event for charity and we couldn't get past Tommy. You brought back memories of years ago when I used to think Laura was pretty and the girl I was working with, Julie said "I don't think she is pretty, she looks like a horse." So then I started realizing she really does look like a horse..although I have to say, she works really well with "what she has" by dying the hair, and keeping thin..dressing well...even if she does look like a horse! My policy at SDRadio is to never publish salaries -- and it's not like Dave, Shelly, or Chainsaw have ever called me and said, "You know, I make a million dollars". It is public record that Randy Michaels, former radio head of Clear Channel, spoke of the morning show at KGB making a million dollars and that was about 5-years back. Again, I have never published salaries -- it's a personal thing. Would you publish your salary? Most likely not.

The Union-Trib did a story on Jeff and Jer once on their public record holdings in the county. Yep, it was impressive from the homes, cars, and the other things.

However, they are successful (DSC and J&J). They could make $30,000 or $3,000,000. Don't listen to them because of their salary. Listen to them for the entertainment.

Ahh, Crystal, some do loose sleep over it, for what ever reason. There are salary sites; however the top players like DSC, J&J, A.J's Playhouse, and Mikey .... are above the "norm".

We are fortunate in San Diego to have a lot of talented morning shows -- and talented people all over the spectrum and time periods. To have a successful morning show in San Diego ....
