Pic Of The Day: Vultures

Turkey vultures along the American River near Sacramento. There were seven or eight in the trees here and a few kept their wings out as they sat looking down for breakfast.

Reminds me of a time when we were on a canoe trip in Florida a few years ago. Nate and I got a bit ahead of the others, and when we got to one point a bunch of buzzards started taking off from the trees. Just the noise of their wings was incredible. I pointed my camera (it was just a 2Mp one) at the sky just ot try to capture an idea of how many there were.
