Okay so while clipping coupons out of this past Sunday's paper I got to thinking that BATTERIES (no matter what kind) have GOT to be the most over priced item! My husband agreed!

ANyways, what are all of your opinions on what the most over-priced item is?

Not solely talking household items, but off the top of my head:

1. Gas
2. Homes
3. Decent mattress (sheets too)

4. Wife
5. Kids

OK, kidding on #4 and #5... :)

Batteries are high priced. I don't know about gas though because relative to other countries the US still has an easy time with gas prices here being so low. Imagine having to pay $5+ dollars for a gallon.

Anything Bose is horribly overpriced. Most of that money goes to marketing!

Gas, Kids, Wife. (Loved those responses Mike)

Also...anything that is targeted for yuppies and teens to buy. i.e. Luxury cars and "already been ripped jeans"

Most things baby related (diapers, special foods, laundry detergent, furniture, etc. name it, it's over priced just because you tell a parent you HAVE to have it for them to be a good parent they will pay an outragous price)

Swim suits

No kidding. I got one half price and it was still $40.00. And what really kills me is it seems the smaller the suit(as in very little material) the more expensive it is. Little kids suits are ridiculous. I buy them after summer for the following year. My grandkids all swim alot, at the river and in our pool. So they each have like 3 apiece. Plus they grow so fast they usually can only wear them one summer and they are too small.

I got those 15 minute rechargeable ray-o-vac batteries which are a biatch to find when it was just everywhere. The only place I can get them now are Amazon and Microcenter. For 2 batteries it's almost 15 bucks. I used it just for my wirless mouse/keyboard which needs to be switched out I'd say every month and a half.

Swimsuits are way overpriced....ang2b got one at Filenes Basement for I think 10 bucks while we were doing The Running of the Brides. Oh I think wedding dresses are overpriced even if they are marked down from $9000 to $250 on sale.

How about those half sized cans of soda. A 6 pack costs 2 bucks. For 2 bucks I can get a dozen for a buck more that are full sized!! It's cute but I get less cans and less drink per can. Weedeekulos

Movie Tickets - $10+PP to be crowded, uncomfortable, and listen to some whiny kid!

Movie Concessions - $5 for a soda, $7 for a popcorn, $400 for the lapdance, $4 for 1 twizzler

Concert Tickets - $70 for crappy seats! and thats considered cheap.

Cable TV, Cable Modem service - $125+ is crazy

Bose - why pay money for a washed up companys inferior product

Airline tickets - They are getting more expensive and giving you less for it. It was much nicer when flying was a novelty and people were amazed that you routinely flew places. The seats were not crowded, you got not only honey-roasted peanuts but also a meal. They had pillows and blankets for everyone. The STEWARDESSES were women, didnt mind being called a stewardess, and were nice/polite to everyone.

Prescription Drugs - One of mine cost over $800 for a 30 days supply! Even with good insurance I am still paying a bunch of money for it.

Gas - Not too long ago it was less than a $1/gal. Hell, in 98 I paid $0.69/gal at a stop in Georgia.

Soda/beverages - Every other week 2-litters are priced $1.25+, we pay more per gallon of coffee, milk, tea, etc than anything else. Damn you starbucks.

Women - no, not paying for professional servicing...just the prices for things that women need seem to be going through the roof. I have watched as the price of some Clinique cleaner went for $7 for a large container to $30 for a smaller one. It just doesnt make sense...they know that the women will buy it no matter what since they need it for their morning/evening regiment and G_d forbid a man say anything about it.

Diet food - why do we pay more for items that are cut with water? Light mayo for example...exactly the same stuff just mixed with water to make it lighter.

Pet's and Pet supplies - $1000+ for a puppy. $150 to adopt a kitten! $30 for a 10 gallon glass tank. What happened to the world. Pet lovers unite.

It goes unsaid the price of homes.

People's stupidity - a lot of you are writing checks that your arse cant cash!

You get my drift.

What's not overpriced? The fact you can go to a boobie-bar, stand there and an incredibly attractive woman will dance up to you seductively, give you 20 secs of undivided attention, show you her tatas up close and personal and expect a whole dollar in return. THAT'S a bargain!!! :) :) :) (or so I have heard) lol

This has got to be right up with amusement parks as the most overpriced category.

What isn't overpriced? Four pounds of Grape Nuts cereal for $6. Bananas, usually. And Blockbuster's $10/mo plan. That's all I can think of.

I'm going with anything baby related. I have two kids in daycare and thank god only one in diapers. Baby food is expensive!!! And then you have to have this car seat for one age, then another for the next step, and then a third booster seat... when does it all end :)
