I've got a gnat infestation!! It's totally grossing me out. :puke: But there's gnats everywhere in my apt. I don't have any dishes in the sink, no fruit, and no wet laundry. I don't know where they're coming from, but there's millions of them. Not only in the kitchen, but in the bathroom, bedrooms, living room.
Anyone have any tips on what to do?

heh Sorry, I thought this was the tan line thread ;)
Don't they make bug bombs that should get rid of the little buggers?

I don't have any house plants (as I always wind up killing them). But I think I'm gonna have to bomb. *sigh*

Check your neighbors? Look harder for food? Try and take out your trash regularly? These guys don't leave without taking away their food source. You can kill 10,000 with a bug bomb but they will keep multiplying.

I have one of these by my plants. http://static.zoovy.com/img/exoticgardens/-/commonvftlarge
It works pretty good. They are really little, they don't work all the time, but its cool. Sometimes if I can manage to knock out a big fly, i'll feed it to the plant.

:stupid: I had a bad problem with gnats at my old apt, and it was because I had a bag of potatoes hidden away under a shelf. Once i got rid of that, they gradually left.
But, a way to try an minimize the population - take a bowl of water, mix in a bit of vinegar, and put in a few drops of dish soap. The scent of the dish soap will attract them to the water, and the vinegar will kill them. It worked really well for me, and helped keep things sane until I could find the source.
