Ok, so I got my Niner Tickets, and I booked my hotel. I'm staying in Hotel circle by old town. What is there to do. I haven't been to SD in ages. I am only there for like a day, but any ideas on where to shop (before the game) and eat would rule. I already plan on purchasing the 5 buck all day trolley pass.

Depends on what you want to eat. There are all the touristy mexican places in the Old Town area. If you are approaching it from the south on San Diego Ave, you will come to an area where it splits. THere is a mexican restaurant at the split which I have eaten at before....its alright. There is another one on San Diego avenue...left hand side which has a pretty large bar on one side/restaurant on the other. The food there surprised me as a friend visiting from out of town with his co-workers insisted that we eat there on his birthday. Cant remember the name for the life of me...but it was about 1/2 block from the old town park proper.
Personally, I like Olinda's mexican restaurant...which is in Old Town, but not in Old Town at the same time. Instead of heading north on San Diego Avenue, you head south. It will be on your left hand side not too far down. Its relatively cheap and always been good food...but its not a touristy place. Its officially old town, but not the tourist part.
Otherwise, there are things like going into Point Loma area for sea food. Almost anywhere you go you will find tacoritas - hole in the wall taco shops which is truly a buyer beware situation. Some are decent...some will give you montezumas revenge without the joy of smelling the border crossing.

Not too far from where you are on the trolley and they have awesome food at decent prices. My favs are the beef tacos and chicken tacquitos.
