You can, but I wouldn't. I'm pretty sure that Windex is not good for an LCD screen, I *think* it has to do with the ammonia in it, it's a bit harsh for the screen.
What I use is a very soft cloth lightly sprayed with water. You can use some isopropyl alcohol mixed in with the water to get it a bit cleaner too.
Or, you can buy some of those Screen Cleaning kits at any electronics store....but that would probably cost more than the water, or water/isopropyl alcohol solution.

NOOOOOOO!!!!!
Windex could rub the "anti glare coating" right off of your laptop screen... thus ruining it. Also, those "anti static wipes" you use for your desktop are not suitable for laptops either.".
They do make special cleaning pads for laptops that will not affect the coating... I would recommend one of those instead. I bought some from Office Depot awhile back and they work just fine.

NOOOOOOO!!!!!
Ditto! The special laptop/LCD wipes are well worth the cost. Costco usually carries them for a decent price.

Just put it in the dishwasher. Be sure to remove any CDs from the drive first!

Will the same principal apply to portable dvd player screens as laptop, I'm guessing?

Pretty much anything with an LCD screen... that has a special glare coating.

use clorax and a sos (wool) pad. then put the screen under cold ( not hot-that will cause damage) water and rinse. :throw:
