Sirrich3
09-10-2005, 11:49 PM
Well the Crew at the game knew nothing about it, Or at least said that there were no points available...
Kool_Kid
09-11-2005, 01:52 PM
It's really bad how the crew doesn't even know about this program. I guess we will never start getting pts.
Sirrich3
09-12-2005, 04:50 PM
Has anyone had any luck with codes?
Sirrich3
09-14-2005, 09:05 PM
Guess there's not much action in this Forum. Has anyone come up with points?
Sirrich3
09-15-2005, 07:27 PM
i dont think so... i think a lot of people are intimidated by the gazilion points you need to earn before winning any prizes.... and who listen to sports radio?? :throw:
True, They do ask for alot to get a prize. For soem reason, I have an additional 1000 points?
Sirrich3
09-16-2005, 09:56 PM

Kool_Kid
09-19-2005, 08:23 PM
I think it has come to the point where we have to call the station and ask them what the heck is wrong with the points program.
Sirrich3
09-19-2005, 09:50 PM
I actually sent an email via the comment department. LEts see what happens from there...

Sirrich3
09-20-2005, 07:16 PM
Once again, I did not hear of such a code. Is the station hurting for people/listeners?
Sirrich3
09-20-2005, 08:01 PM

09-22-2005, 08:09 AM
you're full or crap bro, I heard the password of the day on the Loose Cannon's yesterday..... I forgot what it was because I just signed up, but yeah it's out there. Steve Hartman, Vic the Brick and Michael Thompson hooked it up yesterday. geez....

9/22/05
Bonus Code: win
it seems to me you have to listen to the sports report during mancow and Rome. The Cannons will say it on the air... not sure about Hacksaw and Goodtimes... maybe Vic the Brick...... but yes... there are bonus codes. I already entered it and got my points...... win
TofuNinja
09-22-2005, 01:44 PM
Look do you want the Bonus codes or not? If you do I will do my best to get the words on here. Like I said I found out about it yesterday, signed up this morning, got the Bonus Code, entered it and it worked....Isn't that what you'll wanted????
It is obvious that you are not fans of Xtra Sports 570 am. You don't Listen to Mancow, Rome, Cannons, Hacksaw or Goodtimes....If you don't listen you won't get the word of the day....
Sirrich3
09-22-2005, 04:26 PM
If the codes work or do come up, it is not consistent. Especially if you speak directly with a representative from the station and they don't even know what you are talking about.
BTY Thanks for that code and additional info. Trust me, no crap here...
TofuNinja
09-22-2005, 08:00 PM
Did it work for you?
I found that for the most part the codes come when they do their xtra sports news breaks. Not during the actual shows. Rome and Mancow seem to be national shows... not local. The Cannons are more local so they might do it on the show itself... but the sports breaks. Let's get these codes.... I'll try to listen for them. Might not always get them (work and all) but I'll try :)
Sirrich3
09-22-2005, 08:53 PM
It worked, guess the only time is around the :40 mark
TofuNinja
09-22-2005, 10:47 PM
well the announce the code like three times between 7 and I forgot the other.... so Rome, Cannons and Goodtimes is the best bet for hearing the code... I almost missed it today because they don't repeat it they just kinda mention it....
ANd teh call center most likely sucks because they are all either interns who don't know crap or out sourced peeps :)
TofuNinja
09-23-2005, 03:17 PM
I'll keep you updated
I thought I heard Comb or come.... but it either doesn't come up.....soooo I'll keep listening.... they need to say it louder or more than once :)
TofuNinja
09-23-2005, 03:44 PM

I once heard the bonus code during the last hour
of the Phil Hendrie show. It was announced during
a commerical break between 9:40 and 10 pm.
It's possible that is a regular slot for the announcement.
I am going to listen tonight and I will post before
10:30 if they announce.
Sirrich3
09-30-2005, 12:25 PM

glance at a clock so we can get an idea of the
time so we can find a pattern.

neutral
10-01-2005, 07:07 PM
Did anyone get the event bonus code for 2,500 points?
zippy81
10-01-2005, 07:41 PM
I was able to guess it but it's so many points I don't want to give it away so
easily. So here's a hint: It's a single word. Burt Reynolds made a movie
years ago in the 70s with the same name. But this word is plural.
That would be the OCT 1 2500 point word. Good luck
neutral
10-01-2005, 07:51 PM
You rule! Zippy, thanks.
neutral
10-02-2005, 04:45 PM
Any guesses for today's event bonus code? :)
zippy81
10-02-2005, 04:51 PM
LOL! You want the oct 2 bonus word worth 2500 points? Well, I'll tell you
this, I have been used before, by a guy named TofuNinja. He used me on the
previous page. I'm a word. If you find me you can have me. But I'm not
looking for any losers.
Good Luck!!!

Good Times* 4PM-7PM

Hey Zippy, heard it around 3:48. Must be within the last :20 of the hour after 12:00
zippy81
10-03-2005, 05:37 PM
Cool. So we know the Loose Cannons is a done deal.
Thanks for all the praise. Sunday's code was a tough
one. Spent over an hour on that. The last code I tried
was the one that hit. It was like hitting three 7's on
a slot machine. My heart kicked into high gear.
zippy81
10-04-2005, 03:14 PM
I listened at 2:50 today but they didn't do it. Not going to be

XTRA Sports will be at Universal Citywalk this Saturday from 11-5. Bounus Codes will be available. Come out and meet Mancow and the Gang!
zippy81
10-08-2005, 02:28 AM
Check out the prize section. They've added
14 4-pack of tickets to universal studios
for next saturday. But the arrival time
is before 9 a.m. They want 8,000 points
for the package. I suspect you can call
the office and they will mail them to
you if you live in OC. If you have the
points or are close, this might be
the time to pounce. Other stations doing
a points program reset the points back
to zero at the first of the year. Not sure
if xtra will do the same. They are going to
throw in breakfest too next saturday. Probably
a danish and coffee.

10-08-2005, 02:34 PM
Hi all, thanks for the bc on Friday, Zippy. Happy to see your keyboard is working. Are there any bc's this weekend?
zippy81
10-08-2005, 06:14 PM
Neutral, yeah, uh, had to replace that keyboard.
Don't know what's going on with the weekend points.
They did not post a link as of 6pm. Maybe later
tonight they will. I won't be home till after midnight
though. Hopefully they'll keep the link up if they
put it up at all. Nothing surprises me with these
people. I mean, their freakin' rules say they don't
shout out bonus codes till after 12 noon. Yet we've
heard the codes in the morning. I doubt they'll have
fifty people show up at that Universal Studios event
next weekend. I mean, they actually wanted you to
listen for you name on that one and then call in. Ha!
For me to listen to a sports station is like satan
having to listen to an all christian music station.
I must say I've been lucky that I haven't had to listen
for more than 5 minutes a day. Everybody on that
station sounds like they're auditioning for the
world wrestling federation. It gets old fast.
zippy81
10-09-2005, 02:26 PM
No weekend point links as of 2:30 sunday. Guess it's a wash.
Nobody's bought diddly in the store either. mwaaaaaawwww.
I wanted five thousand points. I'll check back around 10 tonight.
neutral
10-09-2005, 05:15 PM
No bc's this weekend. Next weekend at Universal. Hopefully someone will get it and post it. I'll listen tomorrow morning on the way to work even though I can't stand Mancow. Like Rome but then I'm at work.
TofuNinja
10-09-2005, 07:24 PM
yeah Manncow is horrid. If I wanted to listen to a Rick Dees wannabee I would listen to a different station. I miss Tony Bruno..... Rome is good, I like the Cannons and Goodtimes :) oh the fun.
neutral
10-10-2005, 11:21 AM
Okay, listened to Man cow on the way to work and no BC. Not even cash will get me to turn on his show again. I'll try on the way home and let you know.
Sirrich3
10-10-2005, 06:06 PM
Listened to the radio from 12:15-12:50 and from 4:30-5:00. No Code
zippy81
10-10-2005, 06:44 PM
Listened at top of hour at 4 and 6. Nothing.
Tried the obvious, Columbus, Holiday, Mancow,
and the rest of djs last names, nothing.
Possible they've shifted the code to Phil
Hendrie's slot, but I'll be out and about.
Oh well.
zippy81
10-11-2005, 04:18 PM
listened at top of hour 3 and 4--nothing.
anybody want to complain?

going to screening of domino tonight, hope it's good.
Sirrich3
10-11-2005, 07:17 PM
Not too sure what exactly is happening. I actually listened from 5:30-6:30...nothing
TofuNinja
10-12-2005, 09:42 AM

ROmie is on so I'll listen now... I hate Mancow....
zippy81
10-12-2005, 01:20 PM

12:55pm
They pulled the universal tickets, what's up with that?
Possibly embarrassed that they're not moving.
Sirrich3
10-12-2005, 04:59 PM
Listened to today and they can't even give those tickets away. People are choosing to take other prizes
zippy81
10-12-2005, 05:19 PM
I actually got a xtra newsletter in my mailbox.
These are very rare for me. There's a link on
there to UPN 13 news. It says watch UPN tonight
and look for a bonus code. Then you register. You
can win a trip to LAS VEGAS, includes, airfare,
hotel, and a laker's game. Not bad. If they're
promoting this on UPN you can expect a lot of
competition. If not, hey, it's me, Tofu, Neutral,
and Sirrich3 and maybe Mike. What a deal. I'll
post the link when I get the code.
Sirrich3
10-12-2005, 06:11 PM
Got the same email!
Want more Ca$h Club Points? Just show up to some of our selected events and find out what our event bonus code 'word of the day' is. Then type it in and collect 2500 points. It's that easy! So come out and enjoy our broadcasts or station appearances and get your points...so you can get your prize quicker!
neutral
10-12-2005, 06:19 PM
That's great Zippy, thanks! If it doesn't include UPN (although I'm sure it does), should we private message it to the people on this board or is that not in the spirit of things. Anyways, I'm going to call tomorrow and find out what's up with the consistency of the bc's. I'll let you know what I find out. Thanks for your efforts.
Sirrich3
10-12-2005, 06:22 PM
Hey Neutral. I have a contact number from 570. I emailed him with a concern that I had but never got a response. I also have his direct # and I will give him a call. And the code that UPN gives out, you have to type it into the reply letter from the newsletter via email. Hmmm maybe a little cut and paste
neutral
10-12-2005, 06:37 PM
I'm confused. I got the newsletter w/a re: line: Win a Trip to Las Vegas! but I don't see any links?

10-12-2005, 06:39 PM

Ok. The UPN contest is the station's contest and
you do not need to link it from xtra sports. Although
xtrasports may have chipped in for an ad.
You have until noon the following day to enter
and you can enter as many times as you wish.
The UPN bonus code is: VIP
That will expire at noon on Thursday Oct 13.
I am going to post the link. You should probably
bookmark the link or ad it to your favorites
so you do not have to come back to this message
everytime.
Here is the link:
http://www.upn13.com/contest/
Since this is a board devoted to XTRA I will
probably not be monitoring the UPN code
in the future. But if you happen to come
across the code in the evening and want to share,
cool.
I will post the offical UPN rules, and then
let's be done with this.
Who Can Enter
1. Entrants must be legal residents of California who are 18 years of age or older and have lawful access to the Internet with a valid e-mail address.
2. Employees of Fox Television Stations, Inc. and Avalon Entertainment Inc. (“Sponsors”) and their affiliates, and the advertising and promotion agencies of Sponsor, and the immediate family members of such employees, are ineligible.
How To Enter
1. No purchase is necessary to enter or win. There is no limitation on how many times a contestant can enter. In the event of a dispute, Sponsor will deem each entry to have been submitted by the holder of the e-mail account from which it was sent.
2. Promos will direct Viewers to tune in “UPN 13 News” weeknights at 11pm on UPN 13 and look for the “code word” that will come up on-screen for :05 at some time during the internal commercial breaks. To enter, identify the “code word,” then access the on-line contest entry form at www.upn13.com. Follow all instructions to complete the on-line contest form.
3. The Sweepstakes starts Monday, October 3 and will run through December 2, 2005.
It will run Monday through Friday only. The “code word” will appear sometime between 11pm and 11:30pm and the deadline for entry will be noon the following day. Friday night entrants will have until Saturday at noon. There will be one Prize winner each week, consisting of tickets to a music or sporting event. Each week’s winner will be drawn the following Tuesday. Station personnel will select the winner. Each week’s winner will be notified by e-mail that he or she has won. If for any reason the UPN 13 News does not air on a promoted contest night, that night will be taken out of the contest and only entries from the nights on which the news actually airs will be entered in that week’s Prize drawing.
4. Sponsor is not responsible for error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operations or transmission, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to or alterations of entry materials, or technical, network, telephone equipment, electronic, computer, hardware, or software malfunctions of any kind, or inaccurate transmission of or failure to receive entry, winner(s) or other contest information by Sponsor or entrants for any reason whatsoever. Sponsor is also not responsible for any injury or damage to any entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from playing or downloading any materials in the Contest or for entries that are late, misdirected or incomplete. All entries become the property of Sponsor and will not be returned. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEB SITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATIONS OF THE CONTEST IS A VIOLATION OF THE CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS, AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, THE SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH ENTRANT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. Sponsor reserves the right to cancel the contest if it becomes technically corrupted.
The Prize(s)
1. There will be one or more pair of tickets to a live concert or sporting event awarded to one winner each week. The events will be changed each week. Winners will be told the retail value of their prize when they are notified that they have won.
2. Winner(s) will be required to sign and return an Affidvit and Release within 5 days of the date of notification or they will be disqualified. If a prize or prize notification is returned to Sponsor or its designated agent as undeliverable, then the prize will be awarded to an alternate winner selected by random drawing. Except where prohibited by law, entry constitutes permission to use winners’ names, hometowns, likenesses, and photographs for online posting, and/or any advertising and publicity without additional compensation.
3. Prizes can not be redeemed for cash or substituted for any other items by the winner(s). The winner(s) cannot assign or transfer prize. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a comparable prize of like or greater value, including cash, for any prize, for any reason.
4. The winner(s) is responsible for all local, county, state, and federal taxes on prizes based on the value of the prizes set forth in these rules.
5. Contestants are eligible to win only one prize with a value of $50 or more within any 90-day period, regardless of the number of contests entered.
Odds of Winning Miscellaneous
1. Odds of winning a weekly prize depends on the number of correct entries received.
2. Complete contest rules are available Monday through Friday during normal business
hours at KCOP, 1999 South Bundy Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90025 or on-line at www.upn13.com until December 6, 2005.
3. For a list of prize winners, send a separate, self-addressed, stamped envelope at least 1 week after the end of the contest to: KCOP, 1999 South Bundy Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90025.
4. This contest is subject to all applicable laws and regulations and is void where prohibited or restricted by law, including without limitation, in jurisdictions requiring registration, filing, trust account, or posting of a bond, or any other requirements or disclosures that are not expressly satisfied by these rules.
By entering, participants represent that they are eligible, and that their entry materials are original, and agree (a) to be bound by these rules and the decisions of the judges, (b) to release Sponsor, its parent, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, employees, and agents from any and all liability for any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind caused by any prize or resulting from acceptance, possession, use, or misuse of any prize, (c) to Sponsor’s use of participants’ personal information as described in Sponsor’s Privacy Policy located at www.upn13.com and (d) that entry constitutes an assignment to Sponsors of all intellectual property rights in the entry materials, if any.

Weird, as of 5:50 pm they posted a slot
for an event bonus word for 10/14 but it
says ZERO points. It's possible that will
become 2500 points later tonight, or it
could be a web error, or something else
all together. Not sure. When I was
listening briefly today around 1 pm
they were broadcasting from Hooters
in Ontario, and said stick around we
are going to make a special announcement,
but I didn't stick around, just got the code
of the day and booked.

I think that mysterious bonus code event
for 10/14 worth zero points is an entry
into a drawing for a trip to Oakland.
I have no desire to see a football game
in Oakland. But I'm sure you could guess
the answer through trial and error if you
wanted to. Just look at the paragraph below
and try topic words. You might get it.
(I haven't tried, so I am not teasing
you toward the answer...:) )

zippy81
10-19-2005, 06:43 PM
Yeah, listened at the top of 1 and 6 o clock
hour, nothing.
Neutral, I tried last friday on that bonus
code, but they have gotten tricky.
They are not using sports related
words, or words related to the djs.
It makes it much harder. So I can't
promise anything in the future.
Even today's word, I tried different
variations of sports and djs, past
codes--nothing.
As far as prizes, I am rather
discouraged. The Vegas trip does not
mention plane tickets. Those sneakers
have been up there so long they are
probably collecting mold. It would
be nice if they were to put up some
dvd box sets. But I know I am losing
interest when I completely forgot to
tune in on Monday and Tuesday. :(
neutral
10-19-2005, 07:02 PM
Don't lose interest, yet. I think "football" was the bc for Friday. You had that in your post. No plane, but a great hotel, show, dinner and spa. I'm sure they will put up other prizes and by then you'll have the points. Plus, it's not just one prize at a time so it's easier to actually get a prize once you have the points.

ITSME,
There is no purpose in posting calendar events
on this board since the station is not consistent
in giving out bonus codes. If you want to be
of use here it is best to log in to the actual
site and if you see a link for a 2500 bonus
code, and nobody here has caught it, then you
can tell people here about it.
Thanks for the effort.
Sirrich3

Sirrich3 ,
Like huh? Maybe this person
didn't take their meds.
I see no evidence of a place
where one is supposed
to plug in their code.
And if they changed the
rules, wouldn't the station
notify the people through the
calendar...with, "we are going
to give out five unique bonus codes."
I'll call the station tomorrow
to find out what is happening.
Sirrich3

All I know is that this has been an issue before. There was no sign with a code on it. Kindda like the way KIIS fm does the Summer Beach Shack thing. For all of the other UCLA games that I went to, the reps either had no idea about the Cash Club or knew nothing about a code.

Today's 10/30 2500 point bonus word is so easy
I'm tempted to let you guys figure it out on your
own. But for my own amusement, here are
some song lyrics.
I hereby solemnly swear to tell
The whole truth
And nothing but the truth is what
I'll ever hear from you now
"Trust" is a dirty word that comes
Only from such a liar
But "respect" is something I will earn..
If you have faith .
Connect the lyrics to the song title and
you will find bonus word in the THIRD WORD
of the song title.
GOOD LUCK!!!

Hey Sirrich3,

had to plug in the entire phrase into Google
to get the answer. Whereas the one I just

Whoever bought one of the Vegas

Hey Zippy, Okay I hope you are talking about the Mamma Mia trip. The station stated that it specifically stateswhat is included. Here it is:
MAMMA MIA! Las Vegas grand prize package include: Weekday hotel accommodations at the world-class Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, a pair of great tickets to see MAMMA MIA! at Mandalay Bay, a dinner voucher for one of Mandalay Bay’s eleven award-winning restaurants, and a pair of passes to the unparalleled Spa Mandalay experience.

Hi Zippy81 and everyone else. I just got the Vegas trip today. As you can see, this is my first post (I just found this forum a couple of weeks ago-most of my points came from referrals). Thanks for all of the help. I called the station today and they didn't know the specifics of the Vegas trip but said that they would know soon. I assume that it is for ONE nights WEEKDAY accomodation and that airfare is NOT included. If I'm wrong I'll let everyone know.

Welcome Xtrafan,
Thanks for being here. Please let
us know later. There is a similar prize on the KISS
website and it does not include airfare. But KISS
wants a human sacrifice for their trip: 150,000 points.
Hey Sir3 and Tofu, did you guys
get my Scooter reference a while back. I posted
that in the early morning hours, and then later
a very big news story broke. Was a bit esoteric
I know.
Neutral, I hope you get one
of the Vegas trips, I know you want to go.
I probably am going to pass because it is
a midweek deal. Though I am just shy point
wise. I've been considering waiting for a
30,000 point prize that says: "I SPENT
30,000 XTRA SPORTS POINTS

11-02-2005, 05:32 PM
Jas,
Unfortunately XTRA is not like the other
stations that have an organized points program.
XTRA expects you to listen all day and night
and they may announce the "CASH CLUB
WORD OF THE DAY" sometime. Usually
it is near the top of the hour. But that
can happen at anytime. Your best bet
is to check this board, and I will post the
codes. They allow you to guess as many times
as you want on their site, and I have an amazing
ability to get the word within one to five tries.

Where any office boy

And any barmaid
Can be a star maid
If she dances with or without a fan (reference: Sally Rand*)
Hooray for Hollywood!
Where you're terrific
if you're even good!
Where anyone at all from Shirley Temple (child actress)
to Aimee Semple (Aimee Semple McPherson - evangelist)
is equally understood
Come on and try your luck
You could be Donald Duck
Hooray for Hollywood!
Hooray for Hollywood!
That phony, super Coney, Hollywood
They come from Chilicothes and Padukahs
with their bazookas (it could refer to so many things!)
To see their names up in lights
All armed with photos
From local rotos
With their hair in curlers
and legs in tights
Hooray for Hollywood!
You may be homely in your neighborhood.
Still, if you think that you can be an actor
See Mister Factor (Max Factor - makeup artist)
He'd make a monkey look good!
Within a half an hour
You'll look like Tyrone Power (hunky action star)
Hooray for Hollywood!

sure he knew what I was talking about.
But it's possible.
Anyway, last night I gave the fingers
a shot, and ran through about 25 codes
and finally gave up. Didn't get a chance
to listen today. Maybe tomorrow.

Hey guys and girls,
I am going to take a long overdue
break from posting on this board.
The novelty has worn off. Maybe
after the first of the year I'll be back.
Somebody here I'm sure can take over.
You do not have to listen to the station.
Just guess. When guessing think in
terms of items that belong to a subject.
For instance, if you think of Seasons,
then try: Winter, Fall, Spring, Summer.
If you think of transportation, think
of Car, Bus, Train, Plane, Airplane.
For instance, today I tried, Weather. That
didn't work. I tried, cloudy, hot, cold.
Then I tried:
bc for 11/16: rain
good luck --zippy out!!!

Don't leave Zip, we need you! And how r u burned out? You've only posted like 60 times and been on here for 2 months. Were you posting under a different name?

DIDN"T ELVIS LEAVE THE BUILDING?
I am burnt. I don't believe the station takes
this program seriously. Tuesdays and
Thursdays are a wash. Don't believe
there is even a code programmed into
their website. I will check in on weekends and if you
guys see a super 2500 bonus code entry
scream out and I will work on those, but forget these
250 point deals.
In the future, you guys need to assume
that the 250 codes are only on Monday,
Wed, and Fri. When plugging in codes,
always try sports, talk, radio, speak,
football, baseball, basketball, soccer,
college, national, local, tennis, golf,
bowling, fishing, surfing, team,
show, showdown.
Then try the obvious "key" names of
djs: hacksaw, hendrie, brick; and
the name of programs: cannons, loose.
Then on the bottom of the left side
of the website you will see things like,
Headlines, Weather, News---try those.
I don't want to bother anymore with these
250 point deals. So you guys help out.
They change the codes at midnight.
peace out

Thanks Zippy. I tried like 60 words so I can imagine if you did this everyday. I can't believe how hard it is to hear the word. I've been listening at work for hours today and nothing!
