We are going to have someone make some curtains for us out of sheets. But all I can find online are sheet sets. Where (online or B&M) is a good place to buy just the flat sheet, not the sheet sets?

TIA!

Bed, Bath & Beyond sell just flat sheets. So does Wal-Mart & Target. If you have one in your area, there is also Linen & Things. :)

WAL-MART ! Also some times you can get sheets really cheap at Target on clearance. You just have to keep an eye out for them. :deal:

Wouldn't it be easier just to purchase curtains? Sometimes sheets are more exxpensive! I'd check with Jo-ann fabrics..they sell some beautiful Material a hell of a lot cheaper than regular sheets if you really want to go the direction your'e heading..what kind of curtains are you making?

I want to make it as simple as possible. I don't have a sewing machine so am trading babysitting for sewing from another mom I know. And I can't find curtains cheap enough that aren't hideous looking.

Just normal curtains for the living room, Josh's room, our bedroom & maybe the dining room.

Amazon sells them separately. Maybe they have some on clearance.

Jenny-your best bet is a textiles store (like JoAnn's) you will have a wider selection of choices unlike sheets, which will limit your choices to say...twenty or thirty patterns/colors...the material per bolt comes in anywhere from 22 inches wide to ...well, gosh...depending on what you get, and which direction you use it...many feet across in width. For the same price you'd pay for one flat sheet (22 dollars in my area-for fairly inexpensive sheets)..you'd get anywhere from 4-8 yards of material!...and since it's bound on two sides (salvage sides) you only have to put a running stitch at the top and bottom to make a curtain rod channel)

Ok, cool. I'll look at JoAnn's then! Thanks Obby.

Macy's was having a big sale this weekend. We just bought all new sheets and bedding for our new queen-sized mattress that we bought for our guest bedroom.

I wait for stuff to go on sale/clearance and use the 20% off coupon Bed, Bath & Beyond mail me. Selection is okay and the price isn't bad.

JC Pennys isn't too bad. They're like $20 a 4' panel.

Yeah, but when you consider I need to buy enough for 9 or so windows... no way. Can't spend $20 each. ;)

How about Kmart, or Sears Express or whatever it is now?

Yeah, we're gonna look for the $3-$4 sheets at Walmart & Target. :)
