My mom's 60th is coming up, she loves books on tape but the local library isn't ipod compatible. I need something like Iriver or Creative that she would like.

Something smaller, she doesn't need 30GB. I would like built-in FM tuner.

Replacable batteries if possible, something with longer play, at least 16+ hours (to and from work and then 8+ hours of work).

Smaller isn't a must but I don't want to have her get a brick. I don't care if it is HDD based or not, she doesn't run or anything and skipping isn't a worry.

Looks don't matter much to me, this isn't a status symbol for her.

I would like a larger screen since she is turning 60.

So, what is there? I was looking at the Creative Zen Sleek or the iriver H10, maybe a Muvo2 10 plus FM.

What are the ad(dis)vantages to each one?

Thanks

LK

I can't really recommend anything to you, but I can sure say you're mother will be proud of you.

I have a Creative MuVo TX FM 1GB MP3 player. It has a decent FM receiver on it, uses a replaceable battery (AAA) and that lasts about 20 hours or so. It is very small, about the size of two SanDisk Cruzer USB drives placed side-by-side. The headphones weren't that great on them, so I got some street-style sony headphones. It's a nice player though, so you might want to look at those

The Muvo is nice, but if you're looking for a large display, look elsewhere. I have a Muvo Sport (C100), but since your mother isn't going to use it for exercise, it wouldnt' be that helpful. Maybe check out the Zen Micro?
