Anybody put any though into what they are going to be this year? I have. We went to the fabric store and bought $45 worth of stuff to start mine. Mommypooh is doing all the sewing.
So far, I've only gotten one part of the costume done. Mommypooh still has one part to do (next payday) and I have to begin work on my "prop" that goes with the costume.
Anybody guess what I'm going to be?

I am making a Dorothy costume for my older Granddaughter and my middle one wants to be a doctor. So I am making her a little scubs outfit with hat and mask out of some really cute material from Joannes. I dont do the dress-up thing because no matter what I wear I look like a beach ball! But I do decorate outside. I really save myself for Christmas. :)

well he forgot to mention that we are also making the kids the same costume. With a little variation in color and design. I am going to be Princess Leia. My hair is long enough to do the buns with out a wig and I have always wanted to be Princess Leia.
PS I have never watched any star wars movies. So I have no idea why I am obsessed with Princess Leia. Must be the challenge of making my hair look like hers

ACK! I have not given anythought to what I am going to be. An ole hag may work... .not too much effort needed for that one!
My favorite costume of all time was when my oldest daughter was 3 (she is 14 now), I made her a bumblebee costume, I was 8 months preggo with "thing 2" so I made a bumblebee costume for myself also. As we were trick or treating my daughter was singing "My Mommy's Bringing Home A Baby Bumblebee"... ah, sweet memories. :wavey2:

I'm going to wear my clean-room "bunny" suit that I got from my microfab lab class. I've had it for a couple of years, but I havn't had the chance to pull it out and wear it for halloween.

Honestly...let them play with a couple of "dollar bargain" scary masks. When Gabby was 1yr, we were pulling out all our halloween stuff. She pulled out some scary goblin/monkey mask. She just started playing with it. I put it on....she was a little scared at first...but got over it. She did very well at Halloween and even went to one of our friends Halloween block party and didn't get frightened.
A couple of months after Halloween, we had put everything away. I was sitting at the PC when I heard someone walking (toddling) up behind me. Then I hear a "rawr", turned to find Gabby wearing the goblin mask (she had stuffed it somewhere and we never put it away). Too cute.

Well I started on Gabby's today. I have her pants and shirt picked out she is going to wear Kakhi overalls and a blue turtle neck. I just made her outer tunic and it is looking really good. I have to do the finishing on it like heming and so forth. Then I get to do the fun part and make her Robe. It is going to be this really awsome medium bule with a slight shimmer. I am so excited. If I get is done tonight I can go pick out Camerons Fabric for his. This is fun. I am so Excited. I love making things seeing them take shape and knowing that I made it. The Excitement. WooHoooooooooooooo.....

Well Gabby's is almost complete I have to work on her Tabards, and then I have to hem the bottom of the outer Tunic and hem the bottom of her robe. Didn't get much done last night as we went to buy the parts for the lightsaber at Lowes. and then on next pay day we will go buy the parts for Gabby's lightsaber. I think we are goin to use one of thoes glowsticks that are really long for her blade that would be the right lenght for her size. I am making diapers again at the moment as I need more so Time out for the outfits. Besides I am blowing threw them so fast that if I take some time off and then do more it will still be done long before Halloween.

You know...they make "Yoda hats" for little kids to wear with this kind of costume. In fact, on theForce.net, one lady actually crocheted one for her son/daughter.

we went out to a costume ball tonight at a club, and it was fun - a LOT of eye candy. there's a lot of slutty girl costumes out there! A lot of the girls were essentially wearing lingerie with a set of wings. there was also a fair share of half naked guys though - like a fireman wearing a pair of suspenders and pants, that was drool-worthy! it was a blast seeing how creative people got with their costumes - one of our favorites was this guy dressed as sponge bob - he had made this giant styrofoam sponge bob, that he wore on his shoulders, and since he couldn't reach his mouth with his hands, he had two cupholders build into the top - his friends poured in the booze, and he drank through straws! it was hilarious!
anyhow, hope everyone's halloween weekend is going well!
