Hi!

I got an email from the HR department of a company I had an intial interview with, and they gave me 3 dates to choose to come for an on-site interview. They also said that they could arrange housing the night before.

1) The guy opened the email with my first name, and ended the email with "Sincerely, <First name Last name>". Is it okay to open my response with his first name only, or go for Mr. <last name>?

2) Here's what I wrote in the body:

I am available on October 24th to interview at the facility. Due to the commute time from Blacksburg, VA, I plan to travel to Woodbridge on the evening of Sunday, October 23rd. If there is anything else I should know or on which I need to give input, please feel free to let me know.

Sincerely,

my whole name

3) Should I put anything under my name (more contact info)? I was afraid of being redundant because he got my contact info from my resume. Bah!

Any help would be greatly appreciated! I've been trying to get in touch with my Dad for the past 2 days and I can't reach him

I'd say address him by his title and last name.
Also, it never hurts to have another copy of your contact infor below, oir add it into the body of the message.

personally, i'm for the fomalities. i doubt many employers will say "bah! let's not hire him b/c he's too formal"

open with Mr. <last name>

and feel free to leave your contact info.

:stupid:

Good bet to make the trip the night before. Blacksburg to Woodbridge is not exactly a short drive, and you never know how traffic will be on 81-64-95 (I'm assuming that's how you're going).

Good luck!

Theyre going to let me stay overnight at somewhere in Woodbridge, so hopefully won't have as much mess to deal with
