What gives? Where is my indian summer? The golden rod only came out three weeks ago and last night we had the first frost!...it's throwing off environmental data that my grandparents noted for over 60 years...(the first frost ALWAYS came 6 weeks after the first sign of goldenrod, not THREE..)
I am NOT PREPARED FOR COLD WEATHER DAMMIT..I need to have my furnace cleaned again, and have new filters put in..the storm windows need to be washed and hooked onto the windows,I need to put all my tomato pots away..drat drat drat....

We didn't quite get down to frost temperatures, but it has been delighfully cool here the past few days. I love clear fall days where the daytime temperature is about 60 - you can get out and do things without breaking into a sweat (or, in the case of a woman, "glowing"). But it's supposed to get up to 80 around here over the weekend. Bah!

May we see this "golden rod" in action because I have no idea (besides two perverted images and movies flashing in my mind) of what they could be.

yeh, we had a slight frost here last night, but obby it's October, well tomorrow is, so it's not really that off.
have you noticed the leaves aren't changing color as quick this Fall?

or is it that in the past few years the leaves have changed colors TOO FAST?? Once they start going they'll turn quick..I predict alot of drab colors this year because of the lack of rain, and the heat. I REFUSE to turn my heat on till at least the middle of October..grrrr..NYSEG..what a ripoff.

Electric space heaters will actually be cost efficient this year. I am telling everyone to use them this fall.

Unless you live in my area where it COSTS just as much to run a space heater as it does to run every appliance in your house simultaneously for 3 years..I've heard that contained propane heaters work good-but I'm afraid of fires...

We need to have some kind of weather exchange program, where we could trade some of our heat for your cooler weather.
It's already October and has not got below 100. I realize I live in Arizona, but the longer I live here the "Yeah, but 3 months is brutal", is now replaced by the excuse "Yeah, but 5 mos is brutal".
The next time I hear the TV meteoroligist say "Unseasonably hot", I"m gonna throw a brick at my TV.

It's 13 cents per KWH, nearly the highest in the nation and I am still going to use them
I used a propane heater the first year I moved into my house. It was cheap, but I had problems with my asthma as a result. Plus propane is expensive now.
